Lynton is a quaint, unspoilt village with plenty of gift shops and tea-rooms, pubs, bistros and restaurants in the area to enjoy.The old Victorian water-powered Cliff Railway is only a couple of minutes stroll away, which will take you down to Lynmouth where Exmoor meets the sea. Valley of Rocks is another spectacular place to visit situated two miles outside the village. It has fabulous views and lovely coastal walks, where you might bump into some wild goats or Exmoor ponies!. Lynton is in an area of outstanding natural beauty which is a haven for birds and other wildlife. Birdwatchers will enjoy watching the Dippers and Wagtails in the River Lyn which runs through Lynmouth. Watersmeet is a beautiful hour long walk away from Lynmouth, where the National Trust has turned a Victorian fishing lodge into a fabulous tea-room. You can enjoy your tea watching the point where the Hoar Oak Water and the East Lyn River tumble together. Castle Hill is situated just 50 metres from the South West Coastal Path. Walkers and cyclists are very welcome, and luggage transfers can be arranged.
