Harrop fold is set within its own 20 acres of land and visitors are welcome to walk along the many footpaths that cross the property. A footpath from the door reaches the gritstone trail. There are two lovely brooks - mellow brook and harrop brook, which are visited by a great variety of wildlife, and there is a huge diversity of bird life to be seen around the farm. Harrop fold farm is a smallholding nestling in a wooded gritstone valley on the western side of the peak district national park and has magnificent views over the cheshire plain to the welsh mountains. It has a courtyard of attractive traditional stone buildings that are of architectural and archaeological interest and there is evidence of a roman road passing through.
