Simple and clean place to sleep before my flight. I missed having a bath, but that's alright, I went to a big onsen about a few miles away. Staff was friendly and very accommodating about all my coming and going after I had checked out. Thank you!
The guy who runs the place was very kind to me. Told me where all the cultural things I could see outside the city were. He helped me get around and even gave me a gift when I left.
Just needs a kitchen to cook food. It did not have that.
NOTHING AT ALL, IT WAS HORRIBLE!
The only unsafe hostel I’ve ever stayed in Japan for the last 10 years. No staffs just the drunk, nasty and disrespectful owner. I communicated with him in Japanese fluently so there wasn’t an issue pf miscommunication because of the language berries. It was how nasty the owner was with his attitude when I asked for help with my luggage because the hostel is on the third floor of a rundown nearly looks like abandoned place with no lifts. The taxi driver didn’t know where it was and the sign was impossible to see in the dark. The owner bossed me around with how I need to drink all of the ramen soup because there was no sink for dumping it out. He came into the female room without knocking to close the window and cussing at the same time. The walls were so thin, every time the old man in the male dorm farted sounded like he was laying next to me. The living room is right next to all bedrooms and he had the TV on until 12am watching sex shows. It was horrifying even I had one other girl stayed in the same room. I wouldn’t stay there at all if they didn’t make me pay upfront and I got there late that night. It was like an office or restaurant turned into a hostel so it isn’t a live able place like other hostels. Dirty floor, uncomfortable futon too. It was my worst hostel stay ever!!! Never come back there again.
There is a supermarket quite close-by, it's a short walk to the charter bus terminal and the lower exit of the keisei-narita station. It's easy to find, a cheaper option to the business hotels in Narita but if it hadn't been for the typhoon, I wouldn't have chosen this place for the price.
What bothered me the most was the bedding. The beds didn't have a fitted sheet but the loose sheet you're supposed to use as kind of sleeping bag wasn't big enough to go under the sides of the futon. Additionally I was explicitly told and it was noted multiple times not to sleep on the kakebuton or use it without having the sleeping bag/sheet between you and the comforter. This lead me to assume the property simply does not want to wash the kakebuton covers after a guest uses it. Similarly, the pillow had no case but was tucked underneath the sleeping bag-esque sheet. Additionally, the lower bunks have privacy curtains but the upper bunks are just open. I felt that was a bit unfair, mostly because it was only me and another woman in the 6 bed room and she got a lower bunks with a privacy curtain and I was given a top, open bed but I was not sure if I could request a bottom bunk or not. Though there was an AC unit in the room, I could not find a remote to turn it on. The windows had no curtains on them so it got bright very quickly, very early in the room. The front desk worker didn't really explain much about the place aside from the bed rules. I didn't know they had a kettle or free coffee.
The management and policies. During my first night, I slept fine but at midnight I woke up sweating and I found out the cooler was off. I went out to find water to drink but there's no water to drink. what a weird place I said to myself. I was there because of an emergency in Japan so I have to make calls often. I thought calls isn't allowed only inside the room but this staff wanted it outside the house. it's fine, but the door automatically locked from inside so I can't enter back. I knocked and knocked for few minutes but nobody opened for me although it's already late morning. I was really really upset. but then it happened again on the same morning I was almost late of my appointment with the hospital because I cant enter the house back and I was really mad at that time. I have to end this before my blood boils. My original stay supposed to be was four nights but I can't take anymore that kind of weird things there so I did not mind if I can't reimburse payment. I went out and find a place where what comfort away from home means. it's the most weird house I have ever encounter in my life. It isn't worth even with the low price I paid. it's not more about the house but the person who manage it. He has to stop what he is doing or else he will be losing business!
