Clean Room, in Tahoe.
We checked in and the guy/staff barely acknowledged us, did not explain the 'Resort Ammenities" Hotel was very smokey due to a controlled burn in area, not their fault, but had attitude about it. Rooms were heavy smoke as well. Ventilation issues? No Hot Tub, Pool was empty/closed, security iffy in back tower, Resort Fee? for what? its Not a resort, its a Hotel Casino. No Spa. website said $20 per day Resort Fee.. we were charged $22. Not sure what it was supposed to cover. a $50 PER NIGHT deposit was added and will be refunded if there is no room damage... ?! Got no TV signal, Maintenance guy was able to repair it.. He was nice. Ammenities only went to food and drink, should have went towards Casino Play. No in room coffee pot. We put the Do Not Disturb sign on door and we came back that eve to find they entered anyway... All little things.. but added up to we will not stay there again.
The bed was comfortable , the hotel was clean but it's still new so that's probably why.
The bathroom was incredibly small , the hallways were very dark and narrow . The staff was okay not great they all look depressed they had no joy. And it was very understaffed for a huge line they had one young girl working by herself until an older lady decided to come and help her. ( other workers were just sitting in the back they would come in and out but no one would help her) Lastly, we didn't have a balcony !!! LAME! Wouldn't stay again
Great waitresses in casino. Awesome music selection playing in public areas. Comfortable beds, great view of the lake. Good food at Fire Break restaurant.
Hot tub not open due to plumbing issues. Old refurbished hotel does not live up to non-discounted prices. It's only worth it if you get a deep discount from deal websites. This Hard Rock is somehow not affiliated with the other Hard Rocks, or their rewards program. Very irritating.
Please fix the cooling system
The staff was so damn on point in every part of the ladder. From valet to casino servers to late night bar tenders all on point
It should be in crystal bay
Gave us wrong room # at check in, bothering other guests. Turned ac on but blew hot air all night, 84 in our room, was told my the front desk the wall unit goes based off of the temperature outside, so if it is 50 degrees outside and 75 in your room, unfortunately you can not turn the ac on, because it goes based off the outside temperature. We were told "this is an old building so we don't have the option for the heater or ac, it's already preset in the outside temps"
The transition in weather, with cool to cold nights apparently affected how the room thermostat functions. The outside temperature at night ran in the thirties, however there was no way to cool our room with the a/c system. When we reported it in the morning we were informed that the cooler doesn't work when it is cold outside. It was 80 degrees in our room! We were told to open our window, which is what we did to avoid being overheated in our room.
For a new hotel was totally surprised how rundown the bathrooms were specially the shower area and lights in the bathroom did not work Front desk told me that they had not pass building codes for lights to be available. .
I got a great deal with a mid week room and once I got the correct room (they first give me an uncleaned room from the previous user) and then once I called them - they quickly gave me a new room.
The main light in the bathroom did not work and they had a note telling me that it did not work- why not just fix it.
it was an awesome room, very comfortable bed and linens. The lady's in the gift shop Rocked! Room was very quiet and the Lake view is amazing! Meeting Queensryche for pictures and hanging out after the show.....priceless!
Front desk staff could use alot of improvement. If a customer wants to upgrade to a balcony room you would think the front desk would go out of their way to accommodate (didn't happen) The only reason l didn't buy a 100.00 robe is because I didn't want to deal with front desk again. If you are going to charge for the water bottle left in room (wine is also there) maybe a note with charges should also be left!
Nice room with a view of the lake, good bed, great music on the TV. Good bar and restaurants. Good location and I was treated nicely by the staff.
No pool or spa, floor in our room had a slight slope, no ice machines. Had to go to another floor that had bins filled with melting bags of ice. Bathroom was small but was big enough for a hotel room. Initially was given a room I didn't book but after telling them I had already received confirmation they suddenly had the room I wanted.
It was a Hard Rock Hotel...
Didn't live up to the brand. I have been to HR locations in foreign countries during my service in the military and have been treated better by staff who could not even speak English. I booked the room myself and my guest was restricted from accessing our room while I was not present. They had "tried to page me" yet nothing over their speakers was audible on the casino floor. The term "all inclusive" was a lie as I was charged for using the sundries they advertise as complimentary. Check-in and check-out was surprising because the front desk had 5 computer terminals, 4 employees huddles around only 2 screens, and a line of customers that took over 20 mins to acknowledge. I rarely get to travel on my own dime so when I do, I'd hope I piced correctly. Somebody from big city management ought to come in a re-structure the way this particular location is run.
The room was nice and clean. The room was pretty modern and beds were comfortable.
The check in took forever. It took almost an hour to get checked in. Apparently there is a resort fee for amenities like the gym, pool, wifi, etc. which is a bit ridiculous. I thought I was done paying until I go to check out and find out that I owe money.
Very clean and modern! Great location!
1. The check-in process was extremely long. We waited 20+ minutes in line to check-in because they only had two staff members at the front desk. 2. The resort fee is ridiculous. This is a nice hotel, but not a "resort." Upon check-in we were told that the $22 resort fee was for Wifi (didn't need it-brought our own Mifi), the gym (two treadmills and a couple of weights is hardly a gym), and a landline for local calls (Is this 1992?). The pool and spa weren't even open because it was October. The staff member at the front desk waived the fee for me, but if she hadn't, it would have been a deal-breaker for future visits. 3. The guy at Fuel was clearly annoyed when we asked if he could heat our danishes. He also would not let me apply the free coffee coupons they gave us at check-in for hot chocolate, even though I was willing to pay the difference. 4. We couldn't open our closet because the door was off the track 5. The towel hook on the door fell off when I hung my towel on it.
Really nice facilities
Bed was very comfortable, and room was quiet.
Pool was empty and bathroom in room was being renovated which meant the makeup lights didn't work. Long walk from check in desk to elevator.
The bed was comfortable.
The front desk took 20 minutes to check us in, there was no mini fridge in the room, when I called to ask about one they wanted $35/night to rent one, they didn't have an ice maker, but buckets that were supposed to contain ice bags but instead contained bags of water since they didn't refill them, we had to call room service to get ice as they never refilled those buckets. The pool and hot tub were "out of season" and closed. Pick any hotel/casino but this one or even one of the budget motels that are off the main strip and you'll have basic amenities that this hotel doesn't have.
It is close to lots of shops and restaurants and in the heart of the gambling area.
The bathroom was tiny and the door kept sticking. The people at the front desk and the coffee shop were polite, but the people working in the casino were rude. I think for the high price of the hotel, the room was not to the expectation most would have.
The whole staff that I encountered was extremely friendly.
They are very understaffed. The room wasn't ready and when we finally got in, after being inspected, I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Both nights we had no hot water for showers, when maintenance came up to check on it, he agreed, we have no hot water. The second night when I tried to call the front desk to again complain about no hot water, no one answered the phone. They did however comp our breakfast. I won't use this hotel again.
Spacious hotel room and cleanliness.
I can't think of anything.
The hotel features recently renovated rooms, the design is great! We enjoyed the comfortable accommodations. Great view from our room.
The pool and spa are not functional. The water came out of the tub rust colored for a couple seconds.
Casino was nice
Pool was not in service they said that had been on there web site for 2 weeks but we booked our room months in advance why would you look at the web site after you have booked your room would have not stayed there if I knew this the door on my room had a gap of about 1inch the bottom could hear everyone and I'm sure they could hear us over all I would not stay there again just seemed dirty in the front tower
Room and casino
Pool was empty no access
Bed was comfortable. That's about it. Oh and it's only a short walk to all the shops and restaurants so it's convenient.
Bathrooms were super tiny. Had to walk around the door just to close it. They put us in a smoking room and didn't tell us until we got to the room and it smelled like smoke and bad air freshener. When we moved rooms, they downgraded us. There was no clock or charger by the bed and no desk. There is only one person at the check in and check out line so it takes forever just to speak to someone. No one answers the phones. The pool still is not usable.
room and tv nice
pool closed and did not lower room rate. light bar above mirror in bathroom did not work. staff at check in not concerned with our needs. check in very slow telephone to front desk or guest services was never answered.video check out not working. two false fire alarms. one at 4:am Too high of roomrates for what you got.
The hotel was cool with all the rock memorabilia. Coffee bar was nice, I won 1000 bucks.
The front desk couldn't find my reservation because he couldn't or didn't think of looking for a Ken E instead of a Kenneth E. This was 30 more minutes on top of the 30 I waited in line. Our non smoking room smelled like smoke so I got to listen to my girl mention that every 10 minutes for three days. The pool was closed which sucks cause I like to go out in the AM and chill, not go down to the beach with the passes they gave. Anyone reading this should pass on this place!
It was clean and very update. I like the atmosphere.
When I ran into a problem checking in the employee helping was very condescending and slightly rude. Also, the bathroom door kept getting stuck. The pool was also out of service. I realize they are still renovating but still needs some work.
With a great location just a few blocks from the California/Nevada state line, the Hard Rock is a great base for exploring South Lake Tahoe. Parking is easy and free, and if you don't care for the restaurants on the property, there's lots more within walking distance. Rooms are nicely up to date, and while the pool was closed, (a) there's a drought, and (b) there's a giant lake nearby that people seem to like, so that's OK.
My bathroom hadn't been cleaned before I checked in. Dirty towels and used soap weren't the worst thing I'd ever seen, but still--gross. Also, the doors seem to have a powerful spring-loaded closer that means it will loudly slam shut if you aren't careful. The several families on my hall, each spread across multiple rooms, let the door slam every few minutes between 8-11 pm... so you can pretty much plan on not sleeping until they're all done for the night. There was a 30-minute line to wait through on check-in. Oh, and if you're going to charge a mandatory $20/night for "resort amenities" maybe you should get the lights working in the bathroom first. Apparently they are "in the middle of an upgrade" so none of the four bulbs worked... but they did have time to print up signs asking us to excuse the work-in-progress.
I like the whole Hard Rock theme. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Close to everything in South shore.
The staff is so disorganized. They had 1 person checking everybody in. When you call the hotel, it goes to voicemail. I've NEVER experienced that especially from a Hard Rock Hotel?? Unacceptable! We went to dinner at the Steakhouse in the hotel & I've never been treated as rudely as we were that night by the server & bartender! Absolutely ridiculous! Very disappointed with the staff. They need to go to a weekly seminars to learn how to treat people & smile!
Old hotel that is renovated. Even though it's renovated still looked old. Didn't feel safe. No security around. Paid the resort fee and the pool was out of order. The gym only had four machines. The ice machine is only available in odd level floors.
The casino was nice
When we arrived we found out that the pool was closed for construction.... We have lite kids and one of the main reason we chose the hard rock was because of the pool amenities. We had to move rooms twice because the hot water heater was out in the older tower. We received a $50 credit for our trouble... The hotel was not staffed accordingly, there is no one to answer the phones. In addition most of the staff on duty was new and not seasoned enough to be competent. When we checked out our bill was incorrect and included $25 in mini bar items that we did not use! Overall we will never stay at the hard rock casino in Tahoe ever again....
The hotel staff was rude! They ran out of ice seriously.... Bathroom lights in our room were out of order didn't tell us. Long lines everywhere. It was dirty
Location was close to things to do, but the whole are is only several blocks so each hotel met this criteria.
The hotel name is new, the bldg is very old. Air conditioning did not work and after calling twice, was up late for attempted repair and ended up with a noisy fan. They did not want to provide any credit for this! The room for the fitness center was about the size of a bedroom with a couple machines in it. They had one tiny area for nonsmoking in the casino, only a few machines and you had to pass through huge smoke clouds to/from, and you still smelled all the smoke. The room was very pricy and they then surprised me with an extra $25/night site fee on the bill! For what? Use of the extravagant fitness center I guess. The staff were much more apathetic than rude. I got that 'whatever' feeling from them all. I would not recommend the Hard Rock Hotel to anyone, it was awful.
The location is great -- right with all the major hotels and casinos, and right next to Harvey's outdoor concert venue. Good parking. Nice looking, well-appointed rooms.
Long lines at registration. My room wasn't ready when promised. I waited an hour for the phone call telling me my room was ready -- it never came. I tried to circumvent the even longer line when I was trying to find out if my room was ready by calling the hotel on my cellphone -- no answer. I finally ignored the hostile glances of people in line to register and forced my way to the front desk. The person called someone else -- and found my room was ready (though not the same room they told to "expedite" when I originally checked in). The lights over the vanity in the bathroom are non-operational. The switch had been removed and covered, so you had to use the head lamp. I was told to call housekeeping for a lighted make-up light. I did. Never got it, though. The mandatory "daily resort fee" -- which I know many hotels are now adding -- is a dishonest way to publish a lower daily rate.
The room design was real neat and comfortable. The room was very clean. The outside setup was nice with the live music plus the music of the dj later in the evenings.
1. The music in the casino was too loud most of the time. 2. The room especially at night would get too warm. 3. The hot water would run out while in the shower.
beds were comfy...
remodeled rooms were still needing lots of attention. Door didn't shut correctly, 1 inch gap on door bottom made it super loud and dangerous as you could seen in from the hall and reach in with a wire to unlock door. Staff was not unfriendly, but obviously not able to "make things right". Very disappointing stay.
