Location was great but the staff...rude and when challenged on their policies after asking for more money at check in, they did not have a clue. I occasionally use mercure for personal and mostly for business trips but I will be changing my corporate account for both me and my employees next week.

Not really a four star...

The pool has a nice view. On the second day, the male server who served breakfast was very friendly. Close to the subway. Beds are okay.

Rooms need refurbishment as well as bed linen - there are holes, clippings, lots of scratches and something that looks like mold. Pool was advertised as open from June 30th and only opened on July 15th. Sound proofing virtually does not exist and the light from the corridor comes into the room. Reception could be a tad friendlier and actually have some idea of how their pool works - first they tell you you can just come up, then it turns out you have to get a card to enter. Breakfast choices were restricted, not sure whether due to covid or if it’s the normal. Overall, the hotel is not well kept or cleaned.

The location was good, since it was near a bus terminal and it was easy to pick up uber rides to town. The internet wifi access was very good.

To start off, the buffet and the pool were closed due to COVID-19 health concerns. The proposed alternative for the buffet was a room service delivered to your doorstep, which didn't garner our trust since there wasn't much variety on the menu. As far as the pool was concerned, there was no alternative. In our assigned room, the floor and the desk were sticky and poorly cleaned - the desk had some spots that could be scraped off with our nails. The hairdryer on the bathroom had dust on it and the bedding had some small dirty (dark) stains. The curtains had bugs that would come off every time you opened or closed them. To make matters worse, on my second night staying in that room we woke up in the middle of the night with water dripping from the ceiling. We had to immediately change rooms and all of our things had to be packed and moved to the new room, with additional care because of COVID-19 security procedures. Once again, we found the room wasn't very clean. Even though it was supposed to be an "upgraded version", the room managed to be smaller, the desk was much smaller and limited the amount of work I could do during the remainder of the stay. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, we didn't feel very safe as far as health security was concerned, and I will refrain from booking this hotel ever again.

It's not clean, not hygienic especially with this pandemic, I regret paying that much of money for this hotel and for the room.

I didn't have a breakfast since I stayed there in the middle of Corona crisis. Breakfast and dinner were cancelled what is understandable. Hotel was close to one of the main bus stations so that was convenient.

I didn't like the level of cleanliness in the hotel. For such a category, hotel should be clean. I wore light socks in the room which were brown after walking there. That tells everything about the floors. Also, as soon as I came in, there was a hair on the bathroom sink and more hair in the bathtub. This is simply not acceptable. In these corona times, they should take even more care about the cleanliness.

Bathroom was not in good condition and the build up of mold in the shower was visible and very disapointing

I have been staying at the Mercure Lisboa Hotel for 4 nights and I was woke up every single night because of the door noises from the other room and every single morning because the guest next door wanted to sing or listen to his music ( not his fault) but every single morning, after a packed working day, you don't want to be awake at 7am or not being able to sleep at night. So it's a big NO for me for the next time. If you love sleeping, i DO NOT recommend this hotel. Having to pay so much and for that. NO THANKS! Very old hotel. Needs big time renovation. No facilities whatsoever. The toilet needs revamp. The TV is outdated. The lighting is not working properly.

Location was good, pool seemed fo be good we didnt use it much only went for couple of hours one day and it was packed. I didn't mind the shady parts as well as open roof parts as the sun was very hot! I didn't mind the hotel views as its in the city and you cannot control if there are fancy buildings or ruins around. This is Lisbon with parts old and parts new which is part of its charm. The bedroom (although we had issues the first night) was decent and not noisy.

Our bed was dirty made with stained sheets. I didnt sleep well as I decided to lay on top of the duvet on too of sheets instead as it was late when we arrived i didnt think housekeeping would be available as such I didnt have comfort that night plus the room was hot and the AC didnt seem to work until I complained at reception the next day then it was turned on regulating temperature and the sheets were changed with proper clean sheets. The breakfast buffet is basic continental. The servers at breakfast were not very friendly and interacting only with couple of hotel guests speaking in Portuguese. The hot food area (fried eggs) is not made fresh seems to be premade and laying there not sure if reused from previous day.

Pleasant and friendly staff.

In need of an overhaul. Last renovated in 2002 the staff told us. First room had a stale bathroom smell. Asked to move and were upgraded to “privilege” class. Room slightly better although skirting broken, damp coming through wall from bathroom, old and tired looking grout in bathroom, the timber furniture had lots of dings and requires updating. The bed rated poorly on partner disturbance scale. Stayed in the Porto Centro Mercure, which was fabulous, this one was disappointing.
