Aenos Hotel

The staff. They are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good. The location on the city's main square cannot be trumped. The bed is very comfortable. The setup in the large room (with table and couch) is great for working

Despite the hotel being great overall, after staying there 7 days, one starts to come up with a list of possible improvements. For it being a 4* hotel, I must admit I expected a little more sometimes. So here are a few things that may disappoint (unless they work on it before your travel :) ): - I was surprised to see that the cleaning lady would knock on the door and open the door within seconds, not even giving you time to reach the door or put some pants on before she walks in. And even if my door-card was clearly placed in the slot that turns on electricity in the room, showing that I was there, the cleaning lady still came in and was "surprised" to find me in my room... and not only once, but twice! Within a week! And as early as 11am... this is clearly something that should be worked on. There should at least be the possibility to place a "do not disturb" sign on the door handle, as is common everywhere else in the world. - It is unfortunate that there is a large TV but no HDMI cable to watch movies from the lapton on the TV screen. Not even at the reception they had any to lend - The top-floor terrace was closed because it was off-season... but don't I pay just as much? Why can I not use the terrace **as advertised on this website**?! - When looking through the photos on booking.com, you'll see a pool/jacuzzi, but that is apparently part of one room, not for general use... so even though I had booked this hotel hoping to use some kind of pool, there is actually nothing you can use for that in the hotel, not even a bathtub in the bathroom. - The breakfast area is split into two parts, one full of windows for smokers and one without windows for non-smokers. This is great, when you think that greek culture still allows smoking indoors, but is it fair that you only get a view if you are a smoker? - It can get a bit loud on friday and saturday nights (until ~2am), due to the loud music from the bars around.
