Everything was perfect. Worth the splurge!
Great communication with the hotel. A map in English was emailed to us soon after the booking was made. Spoken and written English were excellent, especially convenient for foreign visitors. Very thoughtful regarding meal seating. As we do not have kids, we were allocated in the dinning room without kids. Various sizes and setting of private onsen available round the clock, which makes a wonderful experience. The local ice cream sold at their own shop is a must!! Each of the courses for dinner and breakfast was well explained, with menu printed in English. The local scenery is breathtaking. The walk is easy and close to the hotel. All in all a wonderful stay.
- Staff speaks great English, communication was very smooth. I felt very welcomed. They did a good job introducing the courses at dinner. - Room was very spacious and comfortable. View is great. Beautiful building and very quiet all the time. - Private Onsens are great. I had no difficulty finding an available onsen. They are all very clean and nicely maintained. - Both dinner and breakfast were of great quality.
The hotel is 10-15 mins walk from the Izu-Kogen station. It can be a little difficult if you have a lot of luggage. It will be nice if the hotel provide a shuttle service.
One if the great nights and hope to able to do it again. Amazing food and beach walks.
Our welcome and the staff were excellent, extremely helpful and English was spoken. The setting is lovely, amongst trees and nature and the local walks along the coastline were one of our favourite parts of our holiday. Breakfasts and dinners were an amazing experience and lived up to expectations and in the seated dining room, dressed in our Japanese gowns, were a very authentic experience. The onsen (springs) were a welcome relaxing experience.
Our room (601) felt a little small and basic and there wasn't room to unpack all our stuff, particularly when the futon was laid out. It was also right above one of the springs, which given they are open 24 hours and there is no sound proofing to speak of, meant we were kept awake by other guests using them when we went to bed, at 2am and then 6.30 the following morning. This didn't feel very restful! The onsen themselves are wonderfully hot with nice views out on to nature in some of them, and though I appreciate it's difficult to keep such a humid environment looking good, they looked a little tired. This place was the most we have ever paid in our lives for a 2 night stay and although the staff, food and environment were wonderful, it didn't sadly feel good value for money. Perhaps in a different room we may have felt a little differently.
