A good choice for central Edinburgh
I chose this hotel because it was centrally located, easy to walk to from the train station, and a good price. It was exactly as advertised - no more, no less. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head at night while exploring Edinburgh, IBIS is a good choice. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room and bathroom was clean, and check-in/out was simple and direct. Overall I would stay here again.
In over 20 years of travel, every hotel except one has fallen short on pillows. Doesn't matter where, they are universally flat and usually require 3 or so to be good for me - I'm a side sleeper who likes fluffy firm pillows.

The location was near many restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions.
It's very minimal and didn't get that feeling of home away from home as other hotels do.

Location in the heart of Edinborough.
Booked 6 months prior to stay. Realized the next day, that I had booked a room for Saturday night, when I would be in Edinburgh only for Friday night. Was unable to switch nights even though it had been less than 12 hours from the time that the reservation was made, and the reservation was six months in the future. Had to reserve a second night. Rooms were clean with a modern open concept layout. Tried a bit too hard to be hip, no trash can in the room itself only a 1 gallon sized bin in the bathroom and no tub in the bath.

“Our 1st time in Edinburgh and the hotel was in a good location not far from any tourist spot. Hotel was spotless even in these difficult times with corona, the staff was very helpful with any questions about where to go to drink eat etc.also where everything was in Edinburgh as in directions.”
