Hotel Praktik Vinoteca

Great location, on the main road, 3 minutes walk from Casa Batllo, and 5 minutes walk from one of Barcelona's best tapas restaurants. Good selection of wines, with a complimentary glass on arrival. Minimalistic decor.

The room was quite small, it wasn't comfortable for two people to share. The decor was rather bare; there were no nicities (no cotton pads / notepad / pen / minibar / room service), and the shower gel seemed cheap. There was an unpleasant odour in the shower. The window didn't have a blackout curtain, so I would have woken up at the crack of dawn without a sleeping mask. Housekeeping took my towels on the first day (supposedly to refresh them), but they forgot to put new ones back. The room was clean but it didn't feel homely at all. For the price I expected some nice finishing touches. The photos look better than the hotel in real life. The majority of the reception staff weren't particularily nice, it felt like they lost the will to live a long time ago.

The location is perfect and the property is very clean and well maintained.

Unfortunately, it really felt like the gentleman we most interacted with at the front desk dislikes us for some reason. All our exchanges were rather unpleasant and he seemed annoyed by our presence. It just never felt welcoming at all. Lastly the beds were just a bit too firm for my liking.
