Grand Hotel Minerva

This hotel is in a great location. We loved the styling of the hotel, the attention to detail and cleanliness. We had a lovely room on the first floor over looking the square, which you could not hear at all. The room was very comfortable, with a powerful shower, which is a must for us, and all the usual things you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. We enjoyed the large buffet breakfast and drinks on the square. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent stay and would definitely consider staying here again, or their other affiliated hotel which looks great and may well be our next trip!

We chose the hotel for the roof top terrace pool and bar which have fantastic views of the city but is a great deal smaller than we expected. We ordered 2 cocktails which were terrible, tasteless and weak but priced for a high end bar. We didn’t bother with the terrace again, which was disappointing.

Hotel has a huge opportunity with its food offering, currently its obscure and disappointing, hence hardly any customers eating at the hotel! This is a shame since the hotel is so lovely to be in, but the restaurants are pretty useless. The breakfast is just awful, so many suggestions to improve and the restaurant could be amazing with the right menu. Personally I feel they should open a Nobu Japanese as we all get sick of Italian every meal but there’s nothing else good in Florence! However even the Italian food isn’t good at this hotel. The rooftop cafe is a stunning location but empty because the food isn’t great and it’s only for guests. The staff have an easy life without much work to do as it’s not busy at all. If this was my hotel I’d make it the best ever place to go and it would be fully booked

The hotel was perfectly located in the central city and with a beautiful park in front of it. Truly so peaceful yet in the center city which is hard to find. Staff and hotel were perfect. So nice. So clean and friendly. Special shoutout to Paolo who was the best concierge I’ve ever had and went way above and beyond with all our needs and questions. I highly recommend this stay for a romantic hotel getaway with your other half. So happy we chose this hotel!

Nothing at all. Truly a five star experience.

Location is so perfect, I only realized this after 2 days of walking around as I was worried it wasn’t as good as the Savoy where I stayed last time. But this was better I think. And the decor is gorgeous in the common areas. The rooftop bar is lovely

The coffee is the only thing I can say was not good. I was charged 12 euros for a room service cappuccino and it was so horrible I couldn’t drink it. Many good coffee places nearby though but they need to fix their coffee problem!

This property shares many similarities with lots of the 5* ones in Florence. The rooftop pool is a v welcome touch with the added bonus of poolside towels, slippers and robes provided. Excellent air con, room service and bar/waiter service. Travelled with teens, they all loved it. Highly recommended.
