The Plymouth South Beach

Location close to the beach. Hotel in a historic building with a pool. Room nicely arranged. Cleaning staff was very pet friendly and even brought a little present for a birthday.

We traveled with a cat (six pounds, short hair) which was mentioned in the booking.com reservation and planned for two nights. We called in advance and mentioned the cat. Upon arrival the hotel was surprised about the cat and made a big deal about it (actually the lady at the front desk could not find the pet form and needed to check with the manager). The cat moved in but by the second day of our stay we found out that the full room service (for which we had paid even extra! For the animal) was denied due to the cat staying in the room, without previous warning. We travel regularly in North America and this was absolutely the first time we experienced this in a pet friendly hotel, as other hotels we stayed in made the room even with the cat present and clearly communicated their policy at check in. The charge for the animal was 100 as stated in the pet form but we ended up paying 168 without any explanation and reason. I cannot get over the impression that this is an absolute scam. Also the room was clearly booked and paid for three people but there only were towels for two people and one bath robe. We called the reception without any action. Very unprofessional management which only was interested in overcharging customers. Communication is a clear issue in this hotel and if you travel with your pet our suggestion is to look for another place. Our experience was disappointing.
