We we’re able to check into our room early which meant more time for sightseeing.

Bartender was lovely and made a great spritz. Checkout concierge was very nice and professional. Bedding was comfortable and clean. Shower was very narrow but excellent heat and water pressure!
The check in receptionist was so, so rude. We arrived and she just bluntly told us they are calling us a taxi and moving us to sister hotel. No sorry, no please and with such an attitude. I told her that was not suitable as we had to head straight out to a tour, that I was unhappy with that and would request a refund if they could not accommodate us and she just shoo’ed me to the side with a not possible. Whoever she spoke to on the phone resolved our problem and we were able to stay after all. Her attitude was also nicer then. I suggest further customer service training to deal with issues such as this as the manner in which problems are approached make such a difference and this ruined our stay from the minute we arrived. I also pre-requested a birthday cake for my daughter which did not come but I told breakfast wait staff who kindly got a candle in a pudding for her. That was nice of them to fix it.

Very comfortable and modern. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast selection. Good value.
My only complaint would be that they tried to direct me to a Nescafé (instant) coffee machine during breakfast when I asked for a cappuccino. It is the capital of Italy - represent the coffee culture accordingly! After I insisted, they brought me a proper coffee though.
