Quinta Verde Sintra

Great location for a 2 night stay in Sintra, with the property only a 10 minute drive into the main town, and also only around 10-15 minutes to the coast. The room was clean, comfortable with a nice bathroom. Pool area was lovely with a great view of the surrounding area and Pena Palace in the distance. The property can serve food during the daytime, in which the Mixed salad in particular stood out as being excellent.

We found our stay somewhat of a mixed bag. On our first morning at breakfast, we had to set our own table, as well as then asking someone to clear the table from the previous people who sat there. The staff on duty seemed flustered and not on top of breakfast service at all. Lots of breakfast items were missing, the omelette was too salty and the coffee empty. It’s not good when you have to keep asking staff to do things every few minutes. Breakfast on the whole should be of a better standard for the room rate. Our toilet bin was not emptied during our entire stay, despite asking the staff to do so, and then saying that they would sort. Pretty from considering you have to put your toilet paper in the bin and not the toilet. There is no information provided to say that your honesty bar bill or food ordered from the snack menu during your stay had to be settled in cash upon checkout. The lady seemed most put out that she had to get the card machine for me to pay the bill. This could be communicated to guests much clearer. I think this property could be fantastic with a few changes in their staff (especially during breakfast), as our whole stay here felt extremely mediocre.
