The hotel is a cute little bed and breakfast time. The room was beautiful. The view from the bay window was perfect. First time in Scottland for me. I loved overlooking the historic buildings outside. The staff is very friendly. The first night the owner helped us with figuring the bus system. He was so lovely. It made me feel comfortable. He even carried my suitcase upstairs. Very friendly. The next morning the second owner made us breakfast. I am talking about a very delicious breakfast. The cook could definitely compete with any 5 Star Chef. The meal was homemade. It tasted fresh. He was also a very lovely person. He was nice and they both made our stay very wonderful.
The place was pure Magic. Nothing bad. No negative feedback.
Very friendly and informative. Nice bright and comfortable room with plenty coffee and teas available. Well appointed....breakfast was great and big portions... I can see why this place had a great recommendation in the daily mail
10.30 am check out. I thought a bit early? The location was pretty good but a bit out of the way for me. The shower was a weak
To have kept the same exceedingly high level of quality three years after our first visit is no small feat. My hat goes off to Paul, whose infectious good cheer, exhaustive restaurant recommendations, and outstandingly fresh & creative breakfasts make your stay a true pleasure. We were welcomed with a Valentine's treat of chocolate & champagne in our room, the Bowmore King Mountain View room. It was wonderfully spacious, with a lovely claw-foot tub to soak in after a day of discovering the city - such a comfortable and relaxing refuge for the weekend. Some have commented on the noise from the street, but to be honest, I just loved the floor-to-ceiling view of the Craggs & Arthur's Seat (personally, I preferred it to the Garden View we had on our last visit, although that's lovely, too), and I found the street noise at the lulling level, not at all bothersome. Any parent who has student kids staying up the road at Pollock Halls should definitely stay here (and invite them to join you for breakfast, it's well worth the treat!)...you’ll be back to stay here even after they leave Halls, just as we were! And even if you're not here to visit students, with a bus stop outside your door or a pleasant walk into the center, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay in Edinburgh.
Hard to believe, but absolutely nothing negative to say. I only wish this lovely old house with its stone staircase leading up to the rooms were more accessible so that I could bring my elderly parents here.
Everything - it was perfect. Breakfast was especially good! Molly the dog was so cute!
It was lovely wee over night stay. Was greeted at the door on arrival , made to feel very welcome , lovely big room with king size bed and bottle of bubbly left on the bed for us . Very clean , and comfortable .
That I couldn’t stay for another night lol
