The dinner and the bed are not so good. I hate ofurô, prefer shower.
I really enjoyed the traditional Japanese baths which we got to experience. Also it was helpful that there was a self-operating kitchen, so if we brought something from a shop we could make it there. The breakfast buffet was a thing to look forward to and it was delicious. There was a variety of foods including western and asian. For the price it was sold at, I think it was great. The location is great because there are nearby bus stop, a station and great temples which you can visit. If you need something in the morning then you can go to the shops nearby.Finaly, there were great evenings with traditional tea and arts and crafts. We met great people there even thought we could not speak the language.
Limited access to rooms between certain hours, however this did not bother us as we were usually out all day.
Very friendly, kind and helpful staff. Nice spacious and well designed. Fun additional things like bike hire and 'onsen' - the spa bath.
Was quite noisy late at night and early morning (from 6am). Bit tricky with other people in dorm (e.g. seeming to sleep all afternoon which made it difficult moving about).
I liked the cleanliness, and the place. Also, how the staff care about their guest.
They only have 2 shower room for all.
I liked the public hot tub bath and the location was set in a beautiful wooded area close to a bus atop
It’s not family friendly and was not clearly advertised. We paid for this hotel when we arrived on site. We were surprised that it was an extra $30 per night because of what appeared to be taxes we were not aware of. It was also advertised as a family room which I thought would have a shared bathroom For our room Alone alone since we bought four beds in a single room. This was not the case. We have two small children and if they need to use the restroom they tried to open the main door in the middle of the night and get out! At one point we lost a kid because they went to the shared bathroom. Had I known we did not have our own bathroom I would’ve never booked this stay. Also the public bathrooms are only open from 7 AM till 9 AM, as is breakfast. It was hard to get everyone ready without stressing since the bathrooms are split between male and female. I didn’t realize that we would be sharing showers with other people. Also The room was not comfortable for relaxing and there was no tv or internet that worked in our room. The breakfast food was slim pickings and we paid $25 extra per day for the family for the food. We could have stayed elsewhere for a much better price and been less stressed trying to accommodate the kids having to use a shared bathroom down the hallway. I would not recommend this place to families but it would be okay for single travelers.
