Plussat: Lovely facility, great lobby/hanging space, beautiful outdoor patio [although closed because of the weather/season], welcome drink was a nice touch. Room with terrace was great! Breakfast was fantastic....when we finally had it on our last morning of 3.

Miinukset: Its unfortunate at check-in, they didn't tell/remind us that breakfast was included. We'd been traveling for 7 weeks by then and certainly didn't remember all the nuances with our various accommodations. So we missed breakfast the first two of our three mornings there. Also, they had problems with WIFI for 1 1/2 days which was frustrating. We also would've liked a small coffee maker inside our room. This was the only lodging during our long trip that didn't have this amenity.

Plussat: Great hotel in the center of Lagos. The staff was very friendly and rooms/ property decorated with taste.

Plussat: Pre-warned by reading reviews we knew to expect a quirky property with unusual rooms and we appreciated it as such. The hotel is spotless and immaculate in every area. The setting just inside the city wall overlooking the fruit and vegetable gardens from our upgraded room (thank you hotel management) was very special. The location right in the Old Town is wonderful for exploring and the free nearby car park was convenient. This parking would be virtually impossible to find without a GPS. Be sure to set your Satnav or GPS for Travessa do Cemiterio. My husband thought the next street would be fine, but it was not due the one way system and we had to drive 7 minutes in a circle to get to the right spot. Also, if hiring a car get a small one as the streets in the old town are very narrow if you get lost and drive through them. The staff were wonderfully kind and helpful and more than made up for any minor niggles with the room, making us feel special and pampered throughout our four night stay. The restaurant, serving all meals is open plan with the kitchen and it is fun to see the cook working. There were no nasty food smells. Breakfast from organic produce is interesting but choice limited, so fine for a night or two, and repetitive thereafter. We ate dinner one evening in the restaurant. The fresh ingredients were well presented with interesting tastes. It was expensive as you would expect from a 5 star hotel restaurant. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Miinukset: The lack of storage space made it impossible to be properly tidy in the room and I missed the lack of a comfortable chair. The bed was very comfortable but low to the floor which would be awkward for anyone elderly or with mobility issues. Also the safe and most power points are at floor level. Not quite what we expected from a 5 star hotel.

Plussat: Room was very clean and tidy. Staff were helpful.

Miinukset: There was next to no space for anything in the room - clothes etc, no drawers, shelves There was no TV, kettle etc in the room, basic things you’d expect in a hotel costing far less. Nothing was said about this before booking. The breakfast options were a bit minimal and the drinks were overpriced.

Plussat: Wonderful homemade yogurt at breakfast, excellent concept shop and comfy beds. The signature scent of the property is amazing! Karolina had so much good advice for where we should visit and she was so nice to talk to!

Plussat: Photos of the lovely interior decor drew me to this boutique hotel in Lagos but after staying here, there’s a lot more to the space than it’s design. I love the attention to detail, minimalist but intentional like a complimentary bottle of water, fruit and a lovely hand signed greeting card. The rooms were impeccably clean which is something I look for immediately I walk in. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked the way it should. We had a lovely view from our balcony of the city. It was a great place to watch the sun set too.

Plussat: My 5th stay at this place and I hope I can go back. People are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good quality and a great start to day. Room is always spotless. For me location is spot on.

Plussat: The location

Plussat: My partner and I stayed in a bedroom with a private bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom is old-fashioned with bizarre colours, including pink/ orange bidet, sink, bath and toilet. However, the dated décor suited the ambiance of Lagos, so we did not mind it – it felt cultural. The bedroom was quite small but it was cosy and came with a large floor to ceiling wardrobe, vanity set and TV. Our bedroom overlooked the main road (not noisy at all) and we had a mini balcony. I have a dairy intolerance. On my first morning at breakfast I asked a member of staff if they happened to have any soya milk – they did! He offered it to me at room temperature or cold. The next morning the same member of staff gave me a little milk jug full of soya milk! I thought that was excellent service. It meant I could have milk in my coffee and also eat cereal. I really appreciated it. The breakfast itself was the usual set-up you find in similar sized European hotels: a variety of bread, coffee, juices, meats, salad, cereal. The juice came from a machine and was not overly pleasant but drinkable. I loved the coffee (also from a machine) but my partner did not like it.

Miinukset: We really enjoyed our stay. The only minor points we would raise are as follows: Rather annoyingly, the hotel did not have an iron. This meant I had to wear quite creased clothes for my three days in Lagos. Most hotels offer an iron so I would recommend that this is offered in future. The wifi does not reach the bedrooms which was very frustrating. The lift is very old and tiny. We did not mind taking the stairs (luckily we stayed on the second floor) but it would have been exhausting if we were any higher up.
