A nice place to rest your head.
Clean, minimalist, great location. A short walk to Atocha and the three art museums, plus a 5 Euro shuttle to/from the airport. Also just around the corner from a metro stop. Yet, it is one building off of the main road and I never had noise as a problem. Climate control was nice, once you figure out how to work it. Everything electrical is driven by putting your key in the receptacle. Once you can turn the lights on, you have to manually turn on the AC.
I'm 6 feet tall. The single bed in the single room was jammed between two walls. I woke up a few times in the night from whacking my feet against the wall. The old joke that there wasn't enough room to change your mind comes to mind.
Poor value
Shower was good Pillows were fine.
Bed was so soft that i ended up with back pain Room was less than 2m x about 3m Breakfast wasn't breakfast it was just a poor snack Lift was possibly slowest in the western world Sink was about 30cm diameter with nowhere to put toothpaste etc. and the mirror was behind you Inadequate place to store clothes Only the floor was available to pack/unpack a suitcase Nowhere to do any work with a computer other than on your lap And the list goes on ............
Madrid....
The location is probably the only benefit. Everything else was bleak.
I already don't like Madrid. I love Spain but Madrid is just unpleasant. This is only my opinion based on my experiences. I really hoped Hostel Buelta would change that. This was part of my exit strategy before I headed back to America. The nearby parking was €24,00 for about 12hrs on a Sunday night. I paid the same in Lisbon on a weekend for nearly 48 hrs. The hostel itself was just run down and bleak. It had no comforts. Simply a place to wash and sleep. Not worth the price. There are nicer places in the area.
Great location
Fantastic location and price. Friendly staff and private rooms available . Free wifi for multiple devices
Small, old and outdated building. Minimal amenities. Noisy (You can hear everything all around your room). But it's clean and staff is friendly. You really don't need much more if you will be out all day in the city.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was cute and clean and had all the necessary amenities. Simple, but sufficient. The location is so convenient to everything in Madrid!
There was no AC but the fan was loud, so that made it a bit difficult to sleep in the hot weather at the beginning of September, although I can't imagine that's a problem most of the year. Also it would not be very accessible to anyone in a wheelchair, because although there is an elevator, there are still six or eight steps down to the hallway from where the elevator was located, at least on my floor.
Location is very good. Very nice staff
Room was very noisy so any sounds from the road will wake you up. Next to a club. Only 1 plug point in the room so hard to run both thd fan and charge mobile ANC laptop. Spring bed will sink from knd side. You can't sleep for long or sit.
Hotel is conveniently located close to the Atocha trains station. Easy access to Madrid's metro system, just around the corner. Several restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores in the surrounding area. Great place to go and re-charge for the next day...................
