Plussat: The flight was 1.5 hours late that almost caused us to miss our connecting flight to Tel Aviv. The service and plane was just OK.
Miinukset: The vegetarian meal was just fair. The plane was small and bathrooms options limited

Plussat: Relatively fast flight
Miinukset: No entertainment or perks at all. And the worst thing was that before flight, they closed us in an insulated gate especially for flights to Tel Aviv, something made out of the 1980’s with a small kiosk with cold sandwiches and “espresso” from an automatic machine, if we knew this is the case, we at least would’ve bought something to eat before entering the 80’s terminal/gate.

Trip to NZ
Plussat: Booked upper deck, lots of leg room and space. Very comfortable 11hr flight. Staff were lovely and food good.

Plussat: Most uncomfortable flight in years. No space. Hard seats, horrible food, had to beg for water. Little service, and not friendly. Overall a horrible flight. At least we made there on time

Problem with Kayak
Plussat: Lufthansa is a friendly airline but was unable to help with our problem because I had booked through Kayak.
Miinukset: When I presented my passport at the counter to receive my boarding pass, I was told my passport needed to be over 3 months before expiration. It expires January 14, 2019. It is not written on the passport, nor mentioned during booking. I’ve been to Latvia four times previously and never heard this requirement. I cancelled the flight with Lufthansa who said I must call Kayak who gave me another number to call and that number then sent an email that said there was a $350 rebooking fee for each ticket, IF they decided I was eligible for rebooking. Yes, we got a great rate, but looks like wasted $ now. I will book directly with the airline in the future to ensure the ability to rebook.

Security Line Too Slow
Plussat: The issue is not with Lufthansa but with the Berlin Airport. First of all, It is not clear that you have to do the checkinn at terminal B and then come back to the gate where you have to go pass security. This is when it gets even more complicated, the line is long and slow, there is only one security arch and xray machine, is took us almost an hour to go through.

Plussat: The red wine was good and the crew made sure that we were well hydrated. The flight was very smooth.
Miinukset: The quality of the meals was poor - tasteless food, possibly loaded with preservatives.
