Plussat: Perfect for those looking peace and silence in beautiful countryside surroundings. You are surrounded by orange groves. You can rent free bikes from hotel to cycle to Cabanas de Tavira (7min cycle) or even around orange groves. Delicious breakfast full of local and homemade produce (jams and cakes, fresh orange juice). Pretty swimming pool (did not swim as it was too cold in October but sunbathed by it). 10 min drive from Tavira where you can get ferry to Isla de Tavira (stunning long beaches).

Plussat: Beautiful property. Fantastic breakfast. Absolutely perfect.

Plussat: Peaceful location on an orange grove. Out of Tavira itself but free bikes, a lovely easy cycle through country lanes to nearby Cabanas which has lovely restaurants. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Plussat: A peaceful place surrounded by trees where you can relax and chill out even in August. A tasty breakfast served outside has made my days!

Plussat: The setting was beautiful with lots of lovely places to sit and relax in the gardens. The breakfast of fresh, locally grown produce was delicious. The owner and all of her staff were fantastic.

Plussat: Loved the view from the house, the delicious breakfasts, the staff and sitting under the stars. Rural property close to town. We were welcomed and took advantage of the beautiful dinner on offer. Fresh baking and smells from the kitchen were amazing.

Miinukset: Beds a little hard. Missed having a small fridge. Would be nice to have self serve coffee from a pot in the morning.

Plussat: The ambience and the friendliness of the hosts , nothing was too much trouble for them.

Plussat: friendly staff, nice breakfast, lovely view, peace and quiet. Great place for couples, families and everyone who desires nice break from a hectic life. I spent there very romantic time with my girlfriend. It was excellent choice :)

Plussat: The very kind reception and personal appraoch of the landlady.

Miinukset: Just not everything was ready. Ther were some works on a terrace. Not to disturbing!

Plussat: I liked the fact that it was near Tavira and yet quiet. Also, it so a fair distance from my favorite beach, Cacela. My room was big and quite comfortable, and the bed was wonderfull. The bathroom was also very nice

Miinukset: I think they really need to improve the acess road to the hotel and I would have liked a pool. Also, I think the surrounding garden needs some improvement

Plussat: Great reception on arrival, we were offered drinks. Car parking was in the very narrow street outside but it was fine. The room was very good just off the reception area. The place itself was amazing, decorated in a quirky yet tasteful way. It felt like you were living in someone's house. Breakfast was prepared individually by the host and was lovely.

Plussat: Tavira is a beautiful town. And our stay at Tavira House was exceptionally hospitable. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. A restful night in a beautiful suite and a sumptuous breakfast! The decor and furnishing really great. Eclectic! Highly recommended.

Plussat: Peaceful surroundings, lovely pool with views of the hills. Close enough to get to the beaches and hills beyond. Only 30 minutes from Faro and 90 minutes from Seville. The staff were all extremely helpful and had a host of insider knowledge to help us make the most of our visit to this beautiful region of Portugal. Would highly recommend.

Miinukset: Loved everything about the property. The only downside is that due to its peaceful location, it is accessed by narrow winding roads. A little unnerving if you haven't driven a left hand drive car for a while.

Plussat: Charming place and friendly staff ! Bfast was good:) Swimming pool area is very relaxing.

Miinukset: The road towards the location is small and need to be careful when driving as there are multiple blind spots. Definitely drive slow enough. No WiFi or internet reception in the room.

Miinukset: The mattress in our room was poor quality and uncomfortable, you could literally feel big springs moving around and digging into your back - found this strange as the rest of the room and the hotel was furnished very nicely. Also the food in the hotel restaurant wasn't great and a bit overpriced, there are better restaurant options in town

Plussat: Stayed with 6 cycling mates for a cycling week end. Staff was very accommodating, looking after the bikes in the evening, getting them out in the morning. Excellent hotel with super helpful staff right in the centre of Tavira.

Plussat: Beautifully restored Convent with arched inner courtyard, stone staircases, flagstone floors and spacious, comfortable bedroom. Pretty gardens and sleek, modern swimming pool. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Lovely Daniella on Reception made our stay so special.

Plussat: Beautifully and comfortably restored facility. Appreciated being able to see the small archeological museum that is on the property.

Plussat: Everything. Beautiful, atmospheric place, well-appointed, lovely staff and great location for exploring beautiful Tavira. Easy to get to by car and its own private parking. Didn't get to use the pool (November, after all) but looked inviting.

Miinukset: Neighbours' barking dogs heard from my lovely large front-facing room on arrival prompted me to ask for a change, which was done immediately and without a fuss to slightly smaller quiet room at the back.

Miinukset: The location was a little remote and the bus didn’t run every day

Plussat: Perfect for a family stay. Indoor pool is great and the breakfast is excellent.

Plussat: Nicely renovated hotel located in a quiet area. We stayed in winter so it was pleasant. Nice spa. Good food on the menu of the restaurant. I imagine it must be crowded and different in the summer.

Miinukset: Old and dated. More like a low end 3 star all inclusive in Cuba.

Plussat: Location was excellent. Fab facilities. All staff were so pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was buffet and was excellent. Property was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was very good.

Miinukset: Only a couple of minor things i noticed but they were not a problem for me. No tea/coffee in room. There was a mini bar but only water in it. There was a safe but you had to pay for its use.

Plussat: The location was great for exploring the area. Buffet breakfast very good, even sparkling wine on offer!! Facilities great and staff very nice. Rooms good beds very comfortable. Pool area in and out v nice

Plussat: Room was clean and cleaning staff were very friendly as were the catering staff and front desk.

Miinukset: Spa staff were horribly rude. Everything costs extra - parking is not included, it’s an extra €7.50 a day, to use the safe is €2.50 and if you want to use the swimming pool you must use a swimming cap or they will sell you one for €4! You can’t use the pool without it and the spa staff will make sure you are made to feel incredibly stupid for not knowing this. Overall the hotel is fine but added costs just feel very underhanded and money grabbing.

Plussat: I was delighted when we drove to our room. I have a disability and therefore not a great lover of stairs etc. But the room that we had - there was a ramp from the road to the foyer & lifts available if needed. The ground floor room we had was equipped / small kitchenette which was very handy as there was a supermarket at the entrance of these apartments. Also bonus only a short walk to the pool area which was stunning.

Miinukset: We only booked one night we could have stayed longer.

Plussat: Everywhere was clean and tidy, the pool was nice and it was a good walk to town (about 2km) which was a good bit of exercise every day. Supermarket almost on the complex, which was really convenient for fresh bread every morning!

Plussat: Good place to stay in lovely Tavira. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a generous breakfast to start the day. Location is good, not exactly in the center, but an easy and pleasant walk there along the river. Very convenient for the boats to Ilha da Tavira. Didn’t have hot water one night, but mentioned if to the front desk and the problem was solved quickly. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Miinukset: Some minor maintenance issues, like a loose water faucet. Not sure about free parking - we paid to park our rental car for a couple hours before returning it.

Plussat: Huone ei vastannut odotuksiani. Varaustani tehdessäni kuvittelin saavani ison huoneen, jossa on iso koksoisänky ja parveke, josta on näkymä lähellä olevalle joelle. Toisin kävi. Sain äärettömän pienen huoneen, jossa oli 140cm leveä parisänky ja parvekkeelta näkymä kohti ränsistyneitä vanhoja taloja. Olen pettynnyt siitä, että saamani huone ei vastannutut millään tavalla odotuksuani tehdessäni varaksen. Koen jopa että minua huijattiin.

Miinukset: Minimaalinen huone johon tuskin mahtui 1 henkilö. Hyvässä hengesä selvisimme kuitenkin kumppanini kanssa joten kuten 4 yötä tässä mitättömässä huoneessa. Odotan jopa jonkinlaista kompensatiota siitä, ettei huone ollut läheskään sitä mitä sivuillanne esititte varausta tehdessäni.

Plussat: The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was ok

Miinukset: Very unhelpful receptionist. I telephoned when we could not find the very complicated route round back streets to drive to the front of the hotel and unload our bags. (We are both almost 80). She became very snappy then said “just wait there. I’m coming”. Ten minutes later, I walked to the hotel and she was doing something on her computer .....not bothering to look up. When I asked her why she had not come to help us, she smirked, sighed and said “are you the woman I spoke to only 10 seconds ago”. The hotel is very tired and needs a better attitude from the staff to override it’s obvious disadvantages.

Plussat: Olimme varanneet 2 twinbeds, mutta tieto ei ollut tullut hotelliin.

Plussat: Hotelli oli hyvin lähellä keskustaa, mihinkään ei ollut pitkä matka. Mielenkiintoinen, vähän sokkeloinen porraskäytävä, mutta kaunis. Huoneessa jääkaappi - jota en osannut odottaa - ja iso parveke auringon suuntaan. Muuten perus hotellihuone. Hotellin kattoterassi oli mielenkiintoinen, hyvät näkymät joka suuntaan. Henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä ja avuliasta, tehokasta. Aamiainen riittävä perusaamiainen, ei mitään erikoista, mutta hyvä. Sijainti loistava joen rannalla.

Plussat: Perfect location near free parking. Check in was quick and easy. Room was cozy but was smaller than it appears in the photos. Breakfast was ample and good quality. The coffee machine they use for breakfast coffee was terrible so we still had to walk down the street for a real coffee. We also had a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant

Plussat: We were upgraded to a villa with a view. This was wonderful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We were given a complementary card for free use of the train to the beach. Also a card for the car park.

Miinukset: The tv was very small and only 7 portuguese channels. Would have liked a music channel.

Plussat: Good rate, pet friendly and what we wanted.

Miinukset: Nothing really. It was very good for our purpose.

Plussat: The Staff and location are superb. Victor, Bruno and Sofia made us feel very welcome in portugal, we have stayed here many times and standards are always high.

Plussat: Value for money. Nice view and quiet.

Miinukset: The renovation of the studio is outdated. There are no power outlets next to your bed. Also no fohn and power outlet in the bathroom. Hard to get the studio warm.

Plussat: Didn't have breakfast as it was expensive. Evening meal in restaurant exceeded all expectations. Slightly rural location which was fine for our needs.

Miinukset: Heating. Softer bed!

Plussat: Very peaceful. Nice staff, very accomadating, we were upgraded and checked out later too.

Plussat: The apartment was nice and clean, well furnished and with big spaces. The position was absolutely great: 5 minutes from Fuseta and close both Faro and Tavira. The pool and the space around it was relaxing.

Miinukset: If it had some more services (a washer machine or a laundry, a little bar) it would get a 10.

Plussat: Apartment was very spacious, 2 floors. It was imbeccably clean. There was a TV which included English speaking channels which was a bonus for us! Couch was comfy and there was decent kitchen utensils and facilities. The pool was clean and there were lots of sunbeds. The location is very much out in the country but we loved the peace and quiet of it however, we were still only 30 mins from Faro on the train. We would definitely go back again.

Miinukset: The only member of staff we ever seen was the cleaner. It's a small enough place and as it's all apartments it doesn't need much staff but maybe somebody at reception during the day would be good for answering questions.

Plussat: Apartment, pool area and general facilities were both spacious and to a very high standard. I would book Cabanas beach again

Miinukset: Check In is at 4pm which is quite late this wasn't immediately clear when I booked these apartments and or it seemed an earlier check in could be arranged but that wasn't possible.

Plussat: The swimming pool area was quite pleasant.

Miinukset: When we arrived the floor was dirty and sticky. The apartment was invaded by ants. It was an apartment for four people but with plates and silverware for only three people. The beds were very, very hard. And the lighting was so poor that shaving was quite challenging. The managing company didn't care much.

Plussat: Good location 5 min walk to waterfront with bars and restaurants.

Miinukset: You had to go in and out via the basement garage as the main door locks were all broken, a bit of a pain and the sofa bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in.

Plussat: Spacious duplex apartment, very quiet and locality was great. Pool area very nice and clean.

Miinukset: Smelt a bit musty when we went in as if some one had used an old mop to wash the floors. Bathroom a bit musty too. No hair dryer and there's always a hair dryer!!! But overall good.

Miinukset: There was no kettle, no full length mirror , the pillows and mattress were not great.

Plussat: Location is great, and the grounds are really kept well. I would go back 100% just not with Cabanas Gardens. There is apartments above the duplexes which i think are managed by someone else.

Miinukset: Arriving at cabanas gardens was a bit of a nightmare. I told cabanas gardens we had a late flight when booking via email but they seemed to not know this. They told us that they would leave a key in a key safe at there office (we'd never been to Cabanas before...), finding the office at midnight wasnt the easiest nor was the 15 min walk with all our luggage to the apartment. They told us to meet them the next day at 9am to pay the balance and were half an hour late. At first they told us that when we were leaving we needed to bring the keys back to the office, but i said i was not doing that and i would leave them in the apartment. The beds were very uncomfortable. There was a few things with the apartment which may seem slightly nitpicking but for what we paid (approx. £980 for the week) I expected more. The cupboard door was broken in the kitchen. The banister on the stairs was loose. There was a hole in the wall in the bedroom. The light fitting in the living room was hanging off. There was a sun lounger mattress on top of the bush. When we told staff their response was they know. Leaving cabanas gardens, we asked if we could extend the check out time, they said no. I asked if there was somewhere to leave the bags and they said bring them to the office. I called and explained that we were getting picked up from cabanas garden and they said we could leave the bags in the flat but we need to be out as the cleaner would be arriving. When picking our bags up 2hours later, no cleaner had been.

Plussat: Very friendly and helpful staff.

Miinukset: Lack of wifi in apartment. Only available at pool area.
