Right inside the walls, easy access (steep steps of course) to great restaurants and the sights.
Great place for a couple of days. Charming but small downstairs living/kitchen area. Roomy upstairs.
This apartment was lovely, modern and charming! We loved the COLD WATER dispenser in the frig, the POWERFUL AIR CONDITIONING units in the bedrooms and sitting room, and the hot water supply was good for 4 people. 2 hair dryers and a sandwich maker were also greatly appreciated! We would definitely stay again!! The location was at the top of the hill off main street so it was really quiet at night!
The shower upstairs is really short so watch your head! The men with us had to use the downstairs shower. The roof is pitched in the 2nd bedroom too, but this added to the charm! Being at the top of he hill, there are 122 steps to climb (we counted). We were glad we only brought simple backpacks! We witnessed 1 girl drag a 56 pound suitcase up that hill and she was sweating buckets! (Her friends told us the weight). So pack light!
While in Dubrovnik, you cannot really avoid taking stairs. So if you leave that part out, location is just perfect. Quiet residential corner in the heart of the town yet 5-10 min walk to almost everything important in the old town.
Nothing to mention
We got some water when we arrived. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean. There was nice decor. The lady who received us was friendly but didn’t understand a word of english which made it very difficult to communicate.
The rooms was TINY, not at all as spacious as it looks on the photos. We struggled getting the luggage up the stairs inside the apartment as it was very narrow. The fridge didn’t work and made awful noise while we were sleeping. The location of the apartment is exactly 144 steps to the apartment (with luggage), be warned. There was some serious communication issues as we were told it would be okay to leave our luggage from 10am (which is checkout time) to 1pm in the storage room, and then later the evening we were told NO.
It is after all in the old city of Dubrovnik. But that's about it.
There was a stifling smell of sewage, esp on the first floor (the water in the floor syphons has long been evaporated I guess). Blond hair rolls all over the stairs(pictures). The property stated it had a parking, I wrote to them to tell them we are with a car, that we need to park - they answered - there is public parking. So, imagine my surprise, when on the day of our arrival , the owner, Dolorez called and I asked about the parking we are to leave the car and she said there isn't one. &Quot; So, what can we do?" - "There is a public garage on Zagrebashka street". That's what whoever is responsible for listing the property might have had in mind, but the public garage is some hundreds of steps! Away from the property, and I do not view it reasonable to consider them close to one another. Let alone the fact it cost 65 euros more. How could you describe a property without a parking then? Dolorez waited at the garage to lead us to the property. Her position was ït is not my fault I just clean the house, I have agency. Somewhere, on some page it is stated that the house does not have a parking."'Well, I use booking, I do not read sites , it is not a mortgage, It is just a reservation". Dolorez felt we were upset and started suggesting we cancel our reservation and go somewhere else, which was ridiculous given the short notice and all in all impolite. I have reserved the full potential of 2 bedrooms of the holiday house, and expected to use the living room which I saw pictures of, but the living room remained locked, because it cost more than we had paid - we were never offered at booking to reserve the living room, but that was yet another detail. Payment was another problem - in order to pay with my card I had to fill in a form with all my data including my cvv code, which Dolorez photographed and sent to her agent.
