Miinukset: We were on honeymoon and this wasnt acknowledged. We stayed 2 days and 1 of these days was quite noisy as work was being carried out so hard to relax. Not a great beach.

Plussat: It was a perfect place for our honeymoon. Our villa was amazing and spacious and had a private access to the beach, which we really enjoyed every morning and also in the afternoon. Also, I want to point out the amazing quality and variety of the food during breakfast and dinner. Congratulations to the chefs! The staff was truly fantastic, always smiling, very professional and always ready to help. We absolutely recommend Zanzi Resort

Miinukset: The massages were very good, but maybe a little pricey

Plussat: Having a wonderful dinner at the jetty. It was so romantic and we will never forget about that. THANK YOU!!!

Plussat: We loved the privacy of our villa and range of services (trips, activities etc.) offered. The resort is an absolute jungle and wild beach paradise and quality of service exceeded our expectations every time. The staff went out of their way to accommodate each and every request. Definitely recommend as the perfect couples getaway. The resort is located on the western coast of the island (mostly jungle and rocky beaches) so if you’re after white sand beaches and turquoise water, the northern and eastern sides of the island are the better choices. However, the views of the ocean from the resort are some of the most amazing I have ever seen.

Plussat: The service was amazing. The staff so happy and super kind. Its difficult to find something negative to say.

Miinukset: The beach. Impossible to go to the water. But amazing view. I can,t connect this with the hotel. Its pure nature. After 9pm the room staff constantly knock the door, when we were slepping already.

Plussat: The beach in new area .

Miinukset: The buffet is not at all a five star service not a luxury. Being too big it goes towards a 4 star. In general not value for money. Old structures not so well maintained . Too many people to serve, not exclusive treatment of guests except at Gaby beach.

Plussat: Everything was perfect, especially food was taste.

Miinukset: Nothing

Plussat: Excellent location, facilities were spotless and great quality. Staff were without exception, excellent.

Miinukset: Food options in main restaurant extremely limited when you have fussy eating kids and only a set menu. We book All Inclusive for the option of a buffet restaurant, so it was disappointing to see that option not offered for half of our stay. The F+B team tried their best to help to give them credit but having a toddler hungry and cranky for most of our trip ruined the holiday. Also no 3rd bed in the room as requested 5 months ago at booking, and in a virtually empty hotel put us on first floor meaning we had to lug the buggy upstairs several times a day

Plussat: The place is amazing and staff as well very friendly

Miinukset: There is no bicycles so we can move around

Plussat: This place is gorgeous from the minute you enter that gate till the time you leave.

Plussat: The breakfast was good. Service was amazing. Staff was usually very helpful. Beach is beautiful. Gym is well equipped for the basics.

Miinukset: The set dinner menus could have had a bigger variety. Would have loved a nespresso machine in the room.

Plussat: Service and staff (as expected in Zanzibar)

Miinukset: Food, and cleanliness of rooms.

Plussat: - Staff is very professional and friendly - hotel complex with beautiful garden, palms, beach and the whole Ambiente - Food is very delicious - Specials like free cocktail or canapés - Beautiful gift at the end of our stay - support for keeping our luggage for 4 days during the safari - personally welcome and support by hotelmanager

Miinukset: - cocktails and wine are not delicious, doesn’t match with 5* stars hotel and doesn’t match to the fabulous food. Food is 5* class, but not the beverages especially cocktails are just water - In the room we had not normal things like shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, just shampoo and this was not the good one, usually in 5* stars hotels you cans find anything ( that’s way I didn’t buy these things by myself and had to buy this in shop for 28$ bodylotion , this is not acceptable at all, such expensive prices just for Nivea body lotion) in general the shop offers prices to feel like a silly tourist, cheap china quality flip flops for 30$ etc - Excepted more for honeymoon as Just Prosecco for free, in other hotels at Sansibar (which we’re not so expensive) we did get flowers, lovely personally written message, and also upgrade for free. I didn’t excepted this at all, but If i compare with others this was definitely different and we paid much more here. - gym is too small and too old, also doesn’t match to the rest of the hotel. This will be okay for 3 stars but not for 5.

Plussat: Meals were delicious. Decor was fascinating. Service was impeccable!

Miinukset: I would have like the dinner to have been served earlier, like 6 or 630. And I was surprised at how hard the mattresses were...was not as comfortable sleeping as I thought I would be.

Plussat: The resort itself is truly excellent. It is well thought out and perfect for relaxation.

Miinukset: The location of the resort is not great being on the east of Zanzibar island. This means no sunsets visible from the resort and far from the local attractions of Zanzibar. The vegetarian options for dinner need some work.

Plussat: Manager and the staff in the restaurant was very good; reception and welcoming wwere not enough.

Miinukset: I don't like the sea, it was too windy and we couldn't sit on the beach . Room was too old and there were lots of mosquitos in he room and we askd for housekeeping.

Plussat: The staff here are amazingly friendly and extremely helpful Rooms are a great size Food is excellent

Miinukset: If I had to give one negative it would be that it is slightly secluded in the location.

Miinukset: Didn’t like that the hotel wasn’t modern. The bathrooms are small and although we had half board we had to pay for our drinks including water!

Plussat: From the second I arrived I was treated like a king. The property and location is stunning and the staff are truly wonderful. I can’t wait to return.

Miinukset: Nothing.

Plussat: The staff were exceptional. Fantastic service, very friendly, welcoming and attentive! They truly made our stay!

Miinukset: The rooms are incredibly basic, tired, dark and need redecorating. No amenities available in the room, toilet barely flushed, towels small, no pest control, the mosquitos were horrendous at this place. Good average, salads and fish should be kept in a cold room or on ice. Bees were a pest in the morning swarming around pastries and jams, made eating unpleasant. More frustratingly is the rule for men to wear trousers at dinner, this is an antiquated and ridiculous rule especially as there were men dressed in sports shirts, safari gear and women inappropriately dressed, yet smart chino shorts on men was deemed unacceptable at dinner, what a ridiculous rule for such a basic hotel. This is not a 5* hotel.

Plussat: What a magnificent resort. The service, the food, the accommodation - all excellent. The beach is wonderful; as it the 'beach area' on the property itself. If there was a criticism it would be that the photos do not do the property justice! Please update your photos... What an exceptional property; well worth a visit!

Plussat: Beautiful resort, extremely easy on the eye. Great location, quiet area with not many tourists. What sets Baraza apart from other places is the service. I’ve stayed all over the world in 5 star establishments, this place ranks as the best I’ve been to. We arrived very early on our day of check in, Evelyn was kind enough to check us in to our room after just 20 minutes of waiting whilst we were served refreshments upon arrival. Evelyn and Garieb made our stay a pleasure by helping with all our requests, tending to all our activities booked etc. Every time we left the resort for an activity (stone town tour etc) they were even kind enough to see us off and ensure we had refreshments for our trip. Evelyn made sure we weren’t charged for the tray charge the day we ordered room service as my wife was sick and couldn’t make it to dinner. Exceptional attention to each client of the resort is clearly evident and everyone feels as if they are royalty. Garieb was helpful in booking all off- resort activities like fishing etc. Melisa (manager I assume) runs a tight ship and was kind enough to welcome us on arrival. Please thank Evelyn and Garieb for their excellent service and making our stay the best we’ve ever had! Food was amazing , breakfast lunch and dinner were always filled with a variety of options which would suit even the fussiest of palettes. They ask you on arrival if you have any specific dietary requirements so be sure to tell them and they will gladly accommodate your dietary needs. If food is a big part of your holiday, stay here! Even the room service is included in the All Inclusive package and only tray charges are charged. Excellent for the days when you’re too lazy to go off to restaurants and would rather enjoy the gorgeous villas. Could not ask for a better honeymoon, thank you Baraza!

Miinukset: Nothing, everything was perfect.

Plussat: The architecture was unique and set a very relaxing ambience. The staff were there to tend to everything you could ask for. The food varied between buffet lunches and set menu dinners - all of which were varied and imaginative. The spa was by some margin the most impressive one we had experienced at any hotel. Perfect for couples.

Miinukset: The on-site shop is incredibly expensive: if you are looking for something local pick it up at a market. Perhaps worth noting that the airport and the main market town on the island are just over an hour drive away.

Plussat: The pool, the beach and the spa!

Miinukset: 1. We were at the last room (24) far away from everything, when we asked to change because the hotel was not full, they said no. 2. We asked the reception to make a phone call to our credit card, we waited for 30 minutes at the room and they never did. I guess they forgot. 3. The first day we arrived we went to the sports center to ask for snorkel, they said that we could do it any day at midday. As we were at Baraza only 3 days we thought: today (first day) or our last day. We approach the sports office 1.5hs before the excursión started and they said it was too late. We were angry because they did not say we needed to confirm so much in advanced, but ok, decided to book for our last day. Unfortunately, the called us and say that there were a lot of jelly fish in the lagoon, they canceled our snorkel excursion

Plussat: Excellent villa and very friendly staff. Recommend

Miinukset: The pool in the villa should be bigger

Plussat: It is walking distance from the busy old town yet clean, comfortable and reclusive while having a cozy flavor

Miinukset: The rooftop restaurant is nothing to write home about

Plussat: It was a beautiful hotel and the staff were very accommodating.

Miinukset: I recommend the hotel ask guests if they are catching the Ferry from Dar-es-Salaam to purchase tickets in advance. Or, they offer the service to guests for a fee. If possible, the hotel should assign a driver and/or guide to guests to prevent guests from being hounded when out touring the town.

Plussat: Great location in the old town a minute or two walk from the beach, five from the Old fort and the food stalls of Forodhani. Very comfortable clean room and good room service.

Miinukset: We did get a grumpy receptionist when we checked in, though it was late, and the guy who carried the bags was all smiles.

Plussat: Staff was very nice and helpful. Restaurant is amazing. Breakfast is good. The Chef Alex is such a nice guy.

Miinukset: Only needs a pool to make it amazing.

Miinukset: Location of Hotel in too Inside.. We had to look for it after being 5Star Hotel.. They have to keep Big SIGN FOR GUIDANCE.. AND TOO SMALL ROOMS NOT WORTH OF AMOUNT CHARGED..

Miinukset: For the price , not convinced of value for money Would’ve liked to see other non “big brand” hotels offering more cost saving accommodation Mattress too soft

Plussat: Big clean comfortable beds, spacious room, great wifi, fridge in the room, excellent tv reception with lots of channels

Miinukset: We didn't have hot water the first day. They fixed it the second, but the water pressure wasn't very good- I don't have thick hair and it took awhile to rinse the shampoo out... It's set back a ways from road so you need help with your bags an the food in the restaurant is limited and prices are high. Better breakfast at the Serena

Plussat: Manager is very accommodant and staff so NICE... GO THERE

Plussat: First the staff was amazing and so was the location. I liked being close to stone town and the airport but still having a secluded beach.

Miinukset: The bathrooms could use an update but rest of the room was great

Plussat: Breakfast on the rooftop was very nice! Need re-fill of the coffee, no issues!

Plussat: The room was comfortable and a good size for me as a solo traveler. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I was able to book several excursions through the reception desk. I also liked having the cafe available for meals, and the breakfast buffet upstairs.

Miinukset: The location was fine, but I would have liked to be slightly closer to the center of Stone Town.

Plussat: Lovely friendly little hotel in a great location near ferry terminal and close to forodhani park. Good breakfast. Not fancy but the rooms and bathrooms were spotless and had good a/c. Great budget option with a touch of Zanzibar style.

Plussat: Great for an overnight stay. Room was very comfortable with good air conditioning. The shared bathroom facilities was something I was apprehensive about however it is very clean and the best shower I've had yet. The senior soap was a nice touch. Highly recommend the tour of stone town, the night market, the fish market and the hotel coffee was fantastic too

Plussat: Very cute place Very good location Good breakfast Quiet (when the room gives on the pool) Small garden and pool very convenient and more than nice staff But we recommend the people to do a benchmark of the price of all the activities to be done on the island before booking with the hotel (you can find good opportunities) All in all very great stay that we recommend this warmly (3 minutes from the ferry as well)

Miinukset: See previous comment about the price of certain activities (except blue safari —> good price actually)

Plussat: Smooth check in, shown to room which was up a narrow, creaky stair case. Room seemed ornate and was clean. Breakfast service was quick and all tours/services we asked for booked and we had a great short stay.

Miinukset: Room a little tight on space and there is only a curtain from toilet to room which for some may be an issue.

Miinukset: 1. Mosquitoes around the garden & pool area. While having breakfast mosquitoes were having you for their breakfast. So ask for repellent & put it on 2. If you are looking for a room with a view this may not be the place 3. It is near the waterfront but not right at the waterfront. You have to walk about 100m or slightly less towards the ferry terminal 4. No proper shower but to have to step into a large tub-like structure. May not be suitable for physically challenged person

Plussat: It was so nice, to stay in the Kholle house. The house is beautiful, the service so nice, the Pool and the rooftop are awesome. Im very sad, that i just stayed there for one night!

Plussat: Very beautiful accomodation with friendly staff. They were super motivated to meet your every need. Food is good, but portions are a bit small.

Miinukset: You’re allowed to swim from seven till seven and after that it’s a bit quiet. Not really a buzzing place but a nice spot if you wanna get away from the business in paje.

Plussat: Very relaxing, right on the beach with lovely little pool and nice and quiet

Miinukset: Air conditioning would be better, although managed with multiple fans..

Plussat: The bungalow are really nicely designed and decorated mostare in front on the beach with direct access. Nice pool. Small and cosy lodge. Definitely quiet with awesome staff dedicated to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Miinukset: To have a la carte menu for dinner would be great with more choice on seafood especially grilled sea food.a bit far away from everything. You need a local cab. Walking to Paje is approx 1h, 4.3km.

Plussat: The staff were very friendly

Miinukset: Not close to much, but plenty of taxis around to assist

Plussat: Great location, quiet, no rocks on the beach, long sand for walking. 30 minutes by foot to Paje. Very friendly staff. Always available to help. Super spacious room with two floors and a few meters from the beach. Outside bathroom, in a garden, very nice.

Miinukset: No fan/ac in the bathroom - can get warm in there.

Plussat: A perfect place to stay at if you want to see Stone Town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located.

Plussat: The hotel's design and architecture is beautiful. Staff were nice.

Miinukset: It's my second stay at this hotel but I was a little disappointed. The room smelled weird, the bathroom wasn't really clean and smelled off.

Plussat: Everything was perfect and comfortable. Lovely spacious room with lounge and 3 balconies, brilliant service, clean facilities, helpful staff and a great courtyard pool. A stone's throw from everything! Excellent value for money.

Plussat: Walking through the building, up and down the stairs, going to the courtyard where the swimming pool is, walking out of the door straight into the street - all the time you feel the history around you. Well picked pieces of furniture and various items around the hotel make it even more remarkable.

Miinukset: Rugs could be more authentic, they don’t go well with antique furniture and Swahili artifacts.

Plussat: This is a very unique and beautiful hotel...They take care of a lot of little details. I believe it was a little pricey - but it was also during the holiday season. Some nickel and diing- too much for taxis and so forth - ut a kind and attentive staff.

Plussat: Hospitality and customer services were excellent. I would like to acknowledge few members of the staff who actually went beyond expectations and ensured we were comfortable and these include Rahim,Said, khamis and Shaisu.

Plussat: The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice clean room. The hotel is quiet and a small oasis in the middle of the town.
