Bed & Breakfast Exterlaer

Excellent place, our second stay in this B&B was again superb. Quiet room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast of off course a very warm and helpful welcome.

Everyting! Complete perfection!!! And fantastic decoration & style, designed by the very talented host himself, perfect breakfast, beautiful garden, one of the greatest hospitality experience and close to the biggest natural swimming pond in Belgium, the Sportpaleis, the Riverenhof and the centre of Antwerp. I am a fan!!!!

The owners ,who live in the the adjacent townhouse , were gracious and informative. They are artists who beautifully restored ed and furnished the property. The Exterlaer perfectly met our locational needs, and met our it "charm standard" . It is located in an early twentieth century neighborhhod with a diversity of architecture. Free parking was available about a block away.Parking in Central Antwerp is expensive and restricted. A tram,however is located a half block away ,and it provides easy access to Central Antwerp as well as the Osli Coglei (sp?) art nouveau district, Antwerpen is an overlooked city,

The owners were very helpful, made us feel very welcome. The bed was very comfy, the room was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was superb.

I had a problem with opening the front door with the code. The problem was not with the code itself but turning the knob of the door in the right direction.

I think Bed & Breakfast Exterlaer is a guest house rather than a hotel. I would say that it is really cozy and welcoming. Interior inside is basically a home. There is even a cat that will come to say hello at a breakfast! The hotel is located in a quiet and nice area and there is a park nearby. There is a tram line No.9 that will take you to the center of the city in 15 minutes. The hosts attitude is very pleasant. In the beginning I was maybe a little bit confused by the attention from the hosts (that you normally don't get at hotels), but then I got used to it and realized that it is actually a hospitality. The only thing I could point out is that the house has wooden floors inside and when people walk and talk in the staircase one can hear it from the room. But this was not really a problem for me.
