Miinukset: "Though no fault of Turkish Airlines, having to go through security after just getting off one flight was stressful even if it might have been necessary. Almost missed my flight. The security area is not properly designed for accomodating many people at one time and the officials (actually two cleaning personnel) who did not speak anything but Turkish were manning the entrance. Even when I showed them my boarding pass they just rudely shooed me away!"

Miinukset: "My gripe is mostly with the ground staff. I was happily sitting in the lounge drinking copious amounts of hot tea due to an illness when my flights status changed on the monitor; "go to gate", it read. When I dutifully arrived at the gate, what was happening? Absolutely nothing. I sat there shivering for another 30 mins before boarding, my heat source (the tea) removed. The moral of the story is that a passenger's time has value, DO NOT waste it. In my case, the cost was physical agony of freezing on a mediterranean island in the summer while wearing 2 shirts, long pants, and double socks. If the ground staff did everything to procedure and are thus faultless, then the procedure is reprehensible and should be updated."

Miinukset: "Rude young lady security officer in Istanbul airport, who forced me to start my laptop working like it's forbidden item to carry on. She talked with intonation like I did something wrong and she is thereto discover it. I believe better workplace for her would be to supervise some prisoners, not welcoming guests at international airports. All other officers (including other security control ones) were looking overwhelmed by work flow, but still polite and friendly."
Plussat: "We had a connecting flight in Instanbul, Turkey, and a representative met us at our arrival gate from Rome and walked us through security and to our connecting flight to LAX. I thought that was great because we would've been completely lost if we had to do it on our own. Security check in was thorough. We had to go through security screening AGAIN (already did it in Rome and had to throw away our waters purchased in the airport), and two different lines for passport check. My husband had to go through a third security line because he had a carry-on. Boarding was well organized with passengers lining up by their boarding letter - no crowding - and people sitting at the back of the plane boarded first (after 1st class). The flight itself was great. The food was delicious. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. They gave us a water bottle, lots of current and blockbuster movies to choose from. They provided pillows, blankets, and earphones at no extra charge. Would definitely fly again."
Miinukset: "The seats were a little tight. They woke us when it was time to eat. Not sure why they didn't just let us sleep, and then give us our food when we woke up. Not really a big deal since I wanted to stay awake on the flight home, but I may have wanted to sleep."

They were loud, rowdy, sick (everyone - from infants to the elderly in the group were hacking and coughing), spilled their drinks, were rude to the staff and kept congregating in the middle of the aisles. There has to be a law against such behavior."
Plussat: "The food was great, had a chance to sample some Turkish cuisine. Way better food than any meal you would get from an American-based airline. Entertainment was excellent, great variety of TV shows and movies. The flight attendants were attentive and helpful. The Batman v. Superman theme was a nice touch. Decent leg room in economy class."

Miinukset: "The cushion at the top of the seat was a little awkward for us. It forced our head to tilt slightly forward. Our seats also reclined slightly less than we'd like. I'm guessing this is an ongoing problem with all airlines so I wouldn't let this affect any choices about the airline."
Plussat: "Boarding was again easy, directions were clear as to where I should sit. My only trouble with the crew was that announcements were sometimes too quiet to hear at all, which I hardly cared about anyway (seat belts, please). The movie selection was unexpectedly good, as was the music section. Books were meh."
Miinukset: "I was not comfortable after about four hours, my biggest problem being I had already been riding in an airplane for a total of six hours that day. Food was fine, but came with salt, which was nice. I don't expect a four course meal on an airplane, but I didn't eat with gusto. The headphones provided were lousy, but I just plugged in my own set."

Miinukset: "The UA crew tries hard but a flight operated by Lufthansa feels more relaxed and more comfortable. Difficult to pin down the exact reason for that. Also: are those bag tag self-printout machines at UA / O'Hare really speeding up the process / cutting costs that much?"
Plussat: "The magazine provided on board were unexpectly interesting! Even though it was a short flight sandwich and drink were provided and were delicious!"
Miinukset: "it was a small plane so there weren't too much comfort or place to put our luggages but these are minor problems."

Miinukset: "I am a very experienced international traveler with approximately 25 countries visited and many of them multiple times. This flight set my new benchmark for a international coach flight. Staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. Great leg room and entertainment. Even the in flight meal and snacks were good. I was not looking forward to my domestic connection with Delta. Unfortunately, Delta met my anticipated expectation. US based carriers could learn a lot from Lufthansa."

Miinukset: "My partner and I orginially selected a window and middle seat. When we boarded the plane we were switched to the two middle seats of a 4 seat row. Honouring our original requests would have made a world of difference. If Lufthansa cannot do this much then I do not want to fly with them."

They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."

Plussat: "Professional, friendly, helpful staff in a new, quiet plane (A380-800). Smooth landing. Easy disembarkment despite approximately 500 passengers from a large aircraft."
Miinukset: "Unreliable domestic Lufthansa flights (in Germany) connected to this international one, and the departure time history for this LH400 proved typical for this flight, which ultimately left nearly 2 hours late despite good local weather. An announcement cited technical difficulties with the originally scheduled plane. Several small groups we recognized from embarkation on this LH400 flight filed lost luggage claims, as we did. Uncharacteristically bad planning by LH on food choices left our rows near the front of Economy without a choice of meals: only pasta, tasty though it was, was available. The chicken option was gone. The flight status video program function did not work for anybody near us despite three equipment restarts by the crew."

I was assured there would be no problems. Upon boarding they were not able to get on their flight. I have never had so many communication issues and frustrations in the middle of the night with an airline. disappointed."

Plussat: "The Swiss Air staff provided water and nice sandwiches for us while we stood in line for hours and put us up in a very nice hotel for the night."
Miinukset: "My first flight with Austrain Airlines was 2 hours late in leaving, partly because they mixed our baggage up and had to have each of us leave the airplane to identify our baggage before getting back on again. Because of this, I missed my connecting flight in Zurich. Apparently hundreds of other passengers were in a similar situation, because I spent the next 6.5 hours standing in line to getting my new itinerary and hotel vouchers."
Plussat: "It was a total nightmare all Austrian flights they put us on were canceled !!! We did not leave Vienna for another 7 h a total nightmare all planes had technically difuculties !! Austrian airlines had total chaos !!!"

Miinukset: "We ended up needing to check a bag. It cost 40 Euros which seemed high. We were sent to another line to pay then back to check in. Then our flight was 45 minutes delayed leaving. Fortunately the pilot got us in to Zurich only 20 Mon late. Just typical "never know what's gonna happen"."

Miinukset: "My Swiss flight from Stuttgar via Zurich to JFK was cancelled before 24 hours without explaining the reason. They should explain the reason at least. I had to take an another flight and arrived at JFK after 6 hours from the original flight. My trip was totally messed up, so I was not happy at all."
Plussat: "We had a friendly conversation about our travels. The lady explained the entire baggage process clearly. The security folks were equally friendly. Just a real nice experience at the Lugano airport."

Paid $120 or so for the second luggage!!!??? After decades flying Austrian I will try switching to your competitors."

The inflight crew was nice and attentive for the little time we saw them but the ground crew never ev n bothered to make an announcement. Just had us sitting there like a heard of cattle."

Plussat: "I fly this route on Austrian 5 times a year, and I nearly always choose Austrian because it hast the overall best 'package' - a comfortable plane with excellent sleeping seats in business class, the best airline food in the world from Do & Co, the nicest staff that really cares about your well being and the quickest connection between Bangkok and Vienna."
Miinukset: "The entertainment program is a bit slim, to my taste - but I'm not a big consumer of inflight movies, as I prefer to get more sleep when I fly. When compared to the entertainment program on Singapore Airlines, for example, Austrian's own can't really compete."
Miinukset: "Although AU blamed late arrival of the plane from Russia, fact is that the plane was at least one hour at the dock before boarding and the AU team was just extremely slow to get boarding done. We were all invited 45 minutes before boarding to board, when apologies were already offered for the slight delay, which turned into 1.5 hour overall. Worst is the lack of communication during the 45 minute wait, for which I have little understanding seeing many older people clearly suffering."

Miinukset: "Unfortunately the food was poor quality. You should pay attention to people who eat kosher and have an option available. Eventho I have marked it on my ticket I need kosher food it wasn't available. It is upsetting. It would be a must at every company, regardless of the service to have name tags for the employees!!! Mostly the flight attendants were kind, but as soon as i asked for something it seemed like they don't want to help or work at all. I understand I have traveled on the economy class but shouldn't make a difference how you treat the travelers. The pillows were dirty!!!!! Not only one, because I have asked for more......most of them! It is disgusting! Something must have been wrong with the headphones because the volume was on max when i tried to watch the move but barely could hear anything. I have flew with Lufthansa most of the time and in the future will chose them. Very disappointing that sooo many little things are interrupting a vacation."

The flight has a 32 hour layover and KLM lost my luggage and it was not found until a week after my arrival back home. I still have not received my bag at this time. The boarding crew was manually tracking who boarded and who didn't. It was a cluster."

Miinukset: "A baggage loading problem meant that all baggage needed to be offloaded and then re-loaded......this took 2 hours and then another 20 minute delay due to congestion with air traffic over France! Where were the cabin crew during the delay? They may have not been onboard given their lack of visibility during the delay. The only time they appeared was to distribute a cutlet of water and a packet of dry biscuits. Inflight, apart from the meal service routines, on this 13+ hour flight the crew were notable for not being visible."

Contact to executing airline KLM very difficult, because the case-nr. on the "lost-luggage-form" was unreadable. but without this number, you can do nothing, because it almost impossible to get someone on the phone at KLM. Mostly you talk to computers. Obviously the phone is oldfashioned and you need twitter and facebook. Poor service, KLM So you can have a pleasant flight, but if you need service, you are lost."

Plussat: "This is obviously a very well-run airline. Boarding was efficient, the crew were warm and professional, and the overall feel of the aircraft was very Scandinavian-cool. I was most impressed with the meal service. We were served twice on our 9 hour flight, and both meals were hot, healthy, and the best I’ve had during a flight. The passenger in front of us was having a hard time with her sinuses, and the flight attendant (whose name I wish we had gotten) was very attentive and concerned for the comfort and well-being of the passenger. She insisted on doing anything she could to alleviate the woman’s difficulty. It is clear that the crew care about the passengers’ experience."
Miinukset: "We were unable to sleep at all during our overnight flight and landed pretty exhausted. Our seats were comfortable (complete with a moldable headrest to keep your head from bobbing around) but we felt too upright to fall asleep. The passenger in front of us reclined, but we were concerned about reclining into the already tight space of the passenger behind us. So we weren’t able to sleep, despite trying to get comfortable/somewhat horizontal. It seemed to be a mixed bag of asleep and awake passengers on the flight, so some people were unaffected by this issue."

It appears that SAS's pricing is gaming the system when searching for flights or that Kayak is not being up-front about the type of fare they are advertising."

Had to stay in the airport over 11 hours due to this delay and had already had a 16 hour layover from the day before. I realize that unexpected delays may occur, particularly in cases where passenger safety is in question, but delays of more than 5 hours cause major inconvenience and I felt stuck in the airport with my bags and having checked out of my hotel room already. Just compensating for lunch is not enough. In the future a partial reimbursement for the flight, access to the priority lounge or a more comfortable facility such as a hotel would provide the passengers with compensation proportional to the inconvenience."
