Kennedyn kentältä Manhattanille, kätevin vaihtoehto on nousta AirTrain JFK -junaan ja jatkaa matkaa metrolla oman majoitusalueen suuntaan. Esimerkiksi Brooklynin kaupunginosaan kulkevat lisäksi bussit. Newark Libertyn lentoasemalta Airport Express -bussi vie lentomatkustajat suoraan Midtown Manhattanin alueelle. New Yorkin muihin osiin kannattaa kokeilla AirTrain-junaa ja metroa.
  • Välilaskulliset lennot Helsingistä voivat laskeutua LaGuardian lentokentälle. LaGuardia Airport sijaitsee kaikista New Yorkin lentoasemista lähimpänä Midtownia ja Upper Manhattanin aluetta. Matkaa ydinkeskustaan on noin 14 kilometriä. LaGuardia on lentokentistä pienin, joten kentällä navigointi on helpompaa kuin esimerkiksi kaupungin päälentokentällä, John F. Kennedy International Airportilla, jossa alueelta toiselle liikkuminen ottaa aikansa. LaGuardian lentokentältä pääsee Manhattanin suuntaan kätevimmin MTA:n (New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority) busseilla. Bussimatkan hinta on noin 2,75 dollaria (noin 2,40 euroa), ja matkan voi maksaa MetroCard-kortilla tai käteisellä. MetroCard-kortin voit ostaa lentokentän lukuisista lippuautomaateista. Miinukset: "Weeks before the flight, Turkish Airways denied giving me a seat. In the day before the flight their on-line computer system did not recognize my ticket number all though it has for the previous three legs of the ticket. When I arrive at the airport I was told the flight was over booked and giving a stand by boarding card. There were about 15 of us with stand by. Only two were denied boarding. Although they did not say so it was clear it was because it was a Kayak reservation. It took 3 1/2 hours in Istanbul airport to get a boarding pass on the next flight. I spoke to eight Turkish Airway representatives. None of them were helpful. Each shifted me to another office elsewhere in the airport without giving me clear direction. Apparently the issue was that they did not want o pay compensation although I never asked for this. In the final office back outside passport control I said I was looking for a boarding pass not compensation.. They gave me on on the 6:10 pm flight and had me sign a statement that I had received 600 Euros in compensation. When I arrive at JFK, my bag was not on the flight. They say they will deliver it today."

Miinukset: "NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CRITIC OF THE AIRLINE Having personally experienced the latest in the consequences of travel related rules mandated by US public officials, I am yet again left wondering if they, and their families, go through these rules that they impose on the general public. Or if they just breeze into their private airport wings and planes. I doubt they take off shoes, belts, and such, or go through irradiated machines. But going through about 3 extra layers of security while transiting is a bit much. Not to mention the extra hours spent relinquishing and reclaiming laptops etc. Frankly, non of these acts makes anything safer. It is akin to the permanently parked police vehicle on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC since 9-11. What is that supposed to deter?"

Miinukset: "I was first seated next to the two largest people on the plane, a couple. There was hardly room for me in the seat. I had the aisle seat. I asked the flight attendant if I could be reseated and she said the plane was full and there were no open seats. She eventually found me a middle seat in the back of the plane, which was so cramped I could harpy move. For a 10 hours flight, not good. I have gold status on Star Alliance, which got me an upgrade from Bishkek to Istanbul, but didn't help on this flight."

Had to go again through security with not enough staff, stood around 40min in a messy line with no air-conditioning​ or water to go thorough security again. There were elderly people having to do the same. Later, after landing, there was no parking for the airplane, so after 10 hours flight we we're held for 25 minutes inside the airplane. New regulations will make me reconsider using Turkish​ airline for US bound flights, although it's a great company, unless they find a more comfortable and organized way to do the security check."

I bought insurance and I tried to contact them, but they denied my request and I would definitely recommend to remove this option because it doesn't give a good image of KAYAK. If I want to trust this application, I have to be confident to use the services and I service from the insurance was fake. I tried to reach the airline to cancel my ticket and they said it's not refundable. Therefore, I would definitely recommend showing refund options when selling tickets. I lost every penny I spent because I was not able to fly. I am sure that my message is delivered now!!!!"

Seized all electronic equipment which I anticipated ahead of time and left my iPad home - but they took my camera - which is NOT on the list or a digital device. They had ONE person handling what had to be well over a thousand iPads and laptops. Flight left hours late. NO legroom, Food was horrible and inedible. The entertainment system draped out and locked up 4 hours into a ten hour flight. The WORST flight experience I have had in a very long tie and I have flown all over the world. Will NEVER fly Turkish Air again. STAY AWAY from this airline."

Plussat: "My JFK to IST flight on Oct 21st, the plane was nice and new. The seats were comfortable and the entertainment was up to date. The food on this particular flight was good."
Miinukset: "According to the Turkish Airlines site they offer free accommodations to passengers who have over 10 hr layover in Istanbul if you are an economy passenger. I was under this impression that I would fall under this category because when I initially booked the ticket (JFK - IST - LIS and return LIS - IST - JFK) my layover back to JFK was 18 hours. Two weeks prior to leaving for my trip I received a notification saying that the layover will be extended to 34 hours. Seeing that my layover was extended, I thought that Turkish Airline would offer me accommodation for both nights. When I arrived to IST (10:30pm local time) I went to the Turkish Airline transfer desk in which they said they would not allow me to have the 2 nights accommodation. After about an hour and half of discussion they could only offer me one night accommodation and changed my flight to an earlier flight. The attendant who was serving me told me to wait by the kiosk until my name was called. At the 30 minute mark I tried to ask another kiosk attendant to see what the status was and he replied back in a very rude manner saying he has no idea what I'm referring to and that essentially was not his problem. After another hour and half of waiting and seeing other frustrated passengers going to the transfer desk and not being helped, I went on the queue to see what the status of my ticket was. They finally gave me my ticket and at this point it was close to 1am. Thankfully I did research before hand and under the assumption that I was going to spend a day in Istanbul, spent $20 and got a Turkish visa prior to my travel, which according the the turkish consulate website that you can no longer get a visa while in the airport. I finally reached the airport hotel at 2:30am but the airport shuttle was to arrive in 4 hours to shuttle all the passengers back. So not only did I deal with a rude staff, but I paid $20 to be in Turkey for about 4 hours in an airport hotel."

Plussat: "Although there was only one option for meals, they were good nevertheless. The entertainment on Turkish Airlines is the best I've ever seen on any international airline. There are so many options and the layout is new and modern."
Miinukset: "Compared to my flight from New York to Istanbul, my flight from Istanbul to New York was less wonderful. The crew was not as attentive and was not helpful in assisting the grandmother who was sitting next to me with her 2-year-old grandson who wanted to know if another seat was available. There was only once choice for the meals, which I found odd on a long international flight, but I did enjoy the meals. The plane was older than the one I took from New York and were less comfortable. I don't usually have a problem with legroom (I'm pretty average height at 5'5"), but the legroom on this flight was noticeably smaller."

They ran out of the food I could eat, and there was a child kicking the seat behind me 70% of the 11 hour flight. My seat was broken and would not stay reclined. The flight attendants were not attentive. I pressed the button a few times (to get assistance with the broken items, and no one came. The 11hour flight was more like being in a shopping mall for 11 hours, people getting up and walking everywhere, talking in the aisles-I understand the children crying-but kicking other peopmes seats is unacceptable and the flight staff should address that if their training allows."
Plussat: "My mother's luggage was lost and arrived to us ripped the next day and i emailed them yet no compensation has been made and no one has replied to the email."

Miinukset: "My luggage did not make it to my destination with me. I waited an hour by the luggage carousel until I saw someone that informed me that one of my suitcases did not make it onto the flight. I had to wait until the next day for it to be delivered. While I am glad it was delivered to my residence, I am frustrated for the inconvenience."

Miinukset: "The flight was scheduled for 7:45 pm. Due to the storm the day before, my flight out of Miami was cancelled and I was told that the flight out of W Palm Beach was my only option. I paid $150 for an Uber at 4 pm. At 6:37, I got an email with news of a two hour delay. I would’ve appreciated an earlier notice. But much worse was the boarding experience. As half the passengers had boarded, someone announced that we had to have everyone boarded and seated in 5 minutes, or else the crew would time out, and we’d have to stay in WPalm. This set off a frenzy, with seated passengers yelling at the people boarding to hurry!! I was told by the pilot while exiting in LGA, that we made it by 30 seconds! It could’ve been handled so much better!"
Miinukset: "By mistake I booked my ticket for the wrong date Called to change it, wait time was over 2hrs went to the delta app and it cost me $200 to do it. Get to airport and ask for an up grade not possible but if I paid $200 when rebooking the flight I could have gotten one. Snacks were horrible and I have a delta card and was charged $29 to get in plus a charge for my extra suitcase. It’s ridiculous given the amount of money I spend on m card on the monthly basis. Very disappointing"

Miinukset: "Not my typical Delta experience: -Boarding for special needs was a joke. A literal ‘run-on-sentence’. No more did I get up and they went to the next group. I was almost knocked over in the rush. -The onboard staff was nice enough. However, between the two of them, one of them had a thick accent. Maybe that one shouldn’t be the one making all on board announcements… and please fix the horrendous crackles too!!! -It seemed our pilot was in training… during our short flight a series of right and left turns were made, no effort to avoid turbulence, and the landing was surprisingly hard. It felt as if my spine took a quick jab to my brain as a result! What’s up?"

Plussat: "Everything from the check-in to the landing was great. We were well informed about what was going on with out luggage (we were on a regional flight) and the assortment of free snacks were superb! I guess I'll be a returning customer"
Miinukset: "I was expecting some form of entertainment (radio, overhead monitor, etc) on the CRJ700. But it really don't take away from the experience since T-Mobile partnered with the Wi-Fi service and I received a free hour of Wi-Fi!"

A member of the crew was in the process of making arrangements to move my husband and myself to put some physical distance between these passengers. I issue is that at no time did he discuss this option with us. He was instituting the move when the male passenger stated he did not want to move"

Miinukset: "There were many empty seats, and when I moved from a cramped seat to a fully open row, the attendant rudely and humiliatingly admonished me for moving to a comfort+ from my "preferred" seat. It was unprofessional and extremely uncalled for. The seats were completely empty and there was no reason for him to admonish me loudly and rudely. I suffer from severe general anxiety disorder, fur which I take appropriate medications, but this incident caused an anxiety attack that lasted through the rest of the flight. Extremely disturbing that crew would behave so rudely and insensitively to anyone."
Miinukset: "Plane was dirty when boarding and older than usual with a broken intercom speaker above us - squawking volume that rang every time the captain or seatbelt light came on. Staff were loud throughout this evening flight where everyone tried to get some shut eye. Miinukset: "Plane was diverted back to Toronto from LaGuardia airport as we were told due to "weather", landed late at night and were told that due to not being able to control weather WestJet could not assist with accommodations, leaving everyone stranded and scrambling to find a room in alreday booked up hotels. When speaking on phone with agent, I was told it wasn't due to weather but incident at LaGuardia where plane went off runway. I paid $130.00 for 5 hours in a hotel, due to pilot error, not weather. La Guardia opened it's other runway immediately after and other airports in NewYork were running fine. Completely unacceptable and extremely bad customer service as CSR simply told us "sorry we can't help". Will never book with West Jet again."

When you fly in Europe with any major airline company (not low cost..), no matter how long or short the flight is, minimum you get a sandwich and abundance of drinks.. not with Delta (or any other american airline company).. pontless. We always get treated like cattle.. but they like keeping the prices of tickets expensive, don't they???"

If he didn't have family living in Dallas, he would've incurred a hotel fee too."

I sat in the middle seat between two hours other men. It was a constant struggle arm space. After 7hours in the air I could not wait to get off the plane. If I didn't actually pay an extra €60 for the seat I may not feel bad but I feel like I might have been better off without paying for the "upgrade""

Miinukset: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Will not fly SAS again until that policy has changed."

Got to the gate and they sent me and about 25 other folks with no seat assignment to wait for a "colleague" who finally appeared after almost everyone else had boarded. I did get a seat, but I was one of the last to board. They ran out of salmon dinners, so the stewardess plopped a chicken dish in front of me--didn't eat since I am vegetarian. The stewardess did give me a free mini bottle of wine, which is normally free on Lufthansa. I am just not all that impressed with SAS. I will try to avoid them in the future."

Miinukset: "Cabin light was only slightly dimmed during the 8 hrs flight. Then instead of gradually brighten the light. They just flip the switch to full blast. I think they are trying to sell you more duty free than letting their customers rest. Not ok!"

Miinukset: "The crew forgot to start serving the final meal until 40 minutes before we landed which resulted in them nearly throwing food at people so that they could quickly get through the plane and sit again before descent. I was not able to choose my seat and was seated in the back of the plane. Consequently this meant that every parent on the plane with two-year-olds decided that the best place to let them stretch their little legs was back by me. I work with small children so I understand that when they reach that age all they want to do is kick and punch, but I didn't want to end my vacation by having half a dozen two-year-olds punch my leg or try to crawl under my chair as they wandered nearby. I still have bruises."

Forgot having your tray table down."

I was flying with a family member and instead of sitting next to them I had to sit next to a stranger."

Miinukset: "I bought full price ticket, not STAND BY SAS DIDN'T LET CHECK IN MY FLIGHT FROM RIGA to SAN DIEGO. So I have problem everywhere . In Oslo I was waiting for my seat more than one hours. I very often was SAS, it was good, but never ever I will use this company again."
Miinukset: "I was sitting next to a girl who was not part of my family who got airsick 3 times on the flight. The first time I told the airline attendant and she brought a large plastic bag and some paper towels. The girl but her used airsick bag inside the large plastic bag. I tied the top and put in next to me near the aisle because I expected the attendant to come pick it up. The attendant told me I had to take it to the lavatory and dispose of it in there. It was very hard to get the large plastic bag into the small trash receptacle because it had fill with air. I asked the attendant for another airsick bag but she never brought it. The girl got sick again and she used my airsick bag. While walking the bag up to the lavatory, I asked a different attendant for another airsick bag. They just told me I had to dispose of it in the lavatory and never brought another airsick bag. I had to ask someone for their airsick bag because the girl got sick a third time. I can not believe the horrible service on this flight! The poor girl was crying because she felt so sick and there wasn't anyone to help her. I did what I could but I felt something could have been done by the crew. I will think twice before I reserve another flight on SAS."

Tarjoilu

Koneen kapteeni ei kertonut mitään muuta lennosta kuin lähtiessä lennon kesto. Olisin halunnut tietoa esim lentoreitistä.

Lento oli lähes 3 tuntia myöhässä emmekä saaneet mitään tietoa mistään. Emme saaneet myöskään vouchereita.

Finnair arpoi edellisenä iltana check-in:ssä mieheni riville 29 ja minut riville 16 eikä näitä voinut muuttaa. Finnair rahastaa kaikesta, vaikka ei tietääkseni ole ’halpalentoyhtiö’. Mustikkamehumukillinen on ainut, mikä kuuluu hintaan. Menolennolla KLM tarjosi suolaisen ja makean välipalan kaikkine juomineen (kahvi, mehu, virvoitusjuoma, olut, viini). Kännykän voi ladata. For free.

Nopeaa toimintaa, kaikki sujui hyvin.

Matkatavaratietomme puuttuivat järjestelmästä. Turhaa vaivaa moisesta asiasta. Valitin suoraan Finnairille.

Järjestelyt toimi oikein hyvin matkakumppanin boarding pass dokumentti katosi turvatarkastuksen jälkeen puhelimesta jokin spammi yritti latautua , mutta passilla koneeseen 😊 Kone ilmeisesti hiukan kovassa käytössä, istuin muhkurainen. Henkilökunta oikein palvelualtista ja ammattitaitoista ☺

Friendly and professional crew

Kun Finnair ei tarjoa muuta kuin mehua ja vettä niin olisi mukavaa että edes voisi ostaa jotain vähän laadukkaampaa syötävää kuin nuudeleita!

Ilmainen kahvi olihan kiva. Lento myöhässä yli 2 h Hesan päässä odotettiin rappusia. Huh huh. On se vaikeeta!

Lähtö myöhästyi 55min. Oli lähellä että olisimme odottaneet 1,5h koneessa, mutta saivat uudelleenreitityksen.

Henkilökunta oli tosi ystävällistä ja muutenkin koko koneessa oli hyvin rauhallinen tunnelma. Tosin kone oli hyvin vajaa.

Myöhässä taas.

Ei mitään hyvää Finnairilla, ei edes ruokaa tai snackseja lennoilla. Ja lennot myöhässä, kuten tämäkin oli taas.

Tällä lennolle kaikki sujui hienosti. Henkilökunta toimi ammattitaitoisesti ja lentäjät olivat huippu ammattilaisia, nousut ja laskut olivat hallittua. Kiitos Finnair.

Jokin ongelma saapuessa jolloin bussikuljetus ja kävely toisesta päästä kenttää… kangasmaski käskettiin vaihtaa kesken lennon vaikka osa oli ilman saapuessakin koneeseen Lentolippujen kaivaminen oli haastavaa,sitten keksin liittää finskin appiin

Minulla oli aivan kova nälkä ja halusin ostaa lentokoneessa leivän mutta valitettavasti minä olen nuori enkä omista luottokorttia ja en saanut koneesta mitään koska normaali electron maksu kortti ei kelvannut eikä käteinen kelvannut..
