Then when I did travel, it turned out I didn't have the right for a piece luggage (again "small print"). I paid for the extra piece and I was double-charged (same amount withdrawn twice). Now I have opened a complained with Austrian and they haven't responded so far."

Miinukset: "We had to walk from gate z all the way to gate B carrying all the bags which was painful, the plane was very tight and old that I had to put all my carry on bags in the floor. I personally had to help the crew members to pick up the food trays because they were very limited and no entertainment at all which was really boring."

Miinukset: "Plane delayed. Then when on board, pilot apologized due to the very warm cabin as "the auxilariary power unit isn't working." Then long delay because the baggage ground crew messed up and again according to the pilot "we apologize for the ground crew's failure to do their job properly and some baggage wasn't loaded properly." Once we landed we had like 20 minutes to go through security AGAIN and nearly missed the final flight to our Seattle destination. No mention of local time upon landing, no one at gate to direct lots of people rushing for connections."

Miinukset: "The person sitting next to me on my right side was disrespectful and putting his head and legs up on my seat even after I told him not to do that and even spoke with the flight attendant. I felt uncomfortable with his behavior and the way it was managed by just telling him not to do that. I asked for a different seat but wasn't moved. For the price I paid for the seat and his behavior of taking up my spot and the empty spot in between us (he took up 2 chairs because he was laying down to sleep) I was very disappointed and uncomfortable during the flight."
Miinukset: "Boarding was poor - we were put on standby, the gate changed, we were bussed out to the tarmac, and the plane left very late."

Miinukset: "Planes are old and cramped. Our plane gave us the "personal entertainment option" which meant you had to use your own device since they are too cheap to upgrade the planes. However, this international flight only had american plugs so anyone without an adapter was SOL. I tried to watch the large screen at the front of my section but they showed the movie Lion that is in Hindi and therefore had subtitles and I couldn't read the words from 12 rows back. The boarded process is like a cattle call. DO NOT FLY UNITED!!! I thought I was flying Lufthansa but it was a bait and switch situation."

Miinukset: "Staff was courteous but not as service oriented as my initial flight to Munich the week prior which is the only reason for 3 stars. Not as friendly, fewer stops with drink cart and other refreshments"
Plussat: "I flew in Business Class from JFK to Munich and then back to JFK via Frankfort. Both flights were on time and very smooth overall in both directions. The cabin crew was good both ways and all spoke English well. Lufthansa long haul flights still use the older 2 x 2 x 2 seating arrangement (unlike the more modern and common 1 x 2 x 1 arrangement where all seats have aisle access)...so if you don't want someone crawling over you trying to get to the toilet while you are trying to sleep be sure to choose a center seat (both with direct aisle access.) While not totally uncomfortable, the Lufthansa business class sleeper seats are narrower...less well padded...and have less recline options than those used by most other long haul airlines, especially the very narrow foot-wells. The pillows and blankets could be better too. The food was OK - but not on a par with what most other airlines serve on long haul flights. The JFK to Munich flight was non-problematic in all respects. However, there was a screaming baby in my aisle (Row 4 on a 747-8 only 2 seats away from me) on the Frankfort to JFK leg...which I found TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
Miinukset: "What airline would permit a lap baby (less than 2 years old...a periodic screamer...and totally unmanageable by its solo-travelling mother) to occupy it's Business Class section on a 7+ hour flight - while inconveniencing (and aggravating) all other nearby Business Class passengers who paid thousands of dollars/euros to ride in Business Class so they don't have to put up with this kind of nonsense? The answer is: "LUFTHANSA!!! And YES, this actually happened on my Frankfort to JFK flight (LH 400 on 23 January 2017.) I'm not sure if the woman in question paid for two seats or not but this unmanageable kid finally calmed down and fell asleep - but he did so in the seat next to her. If this unmanageable lap kid was allowed to do everything he did (including to use a Business Class seat for free IF that is what actually happened) then this just adds insult to injury. WAKE UP LUFTHANSA!!! People pay huge sums to ride in Business Class to avoid this situation - and it's time you BANNED this situation from even occurring."

Miinukset: "Departure gate was not shown on the ticket. By the time we found a LH rep we were told that the flight was operated by United. After we found a United rep and started walking towards the gate we came across the passport control area that had a huge crowd waiting in line. I saw that we literally had 15 min left, while the long line would take us 20-25 min to get through. We had to jump through the lines and cut in front of people explaining everybody our predicament and making people upset. Got back stressed and tired"

Miinukset: "Seat in economy are just to small - need to be able to recline a bit more for a 9 to 10+ hour flight. So close together it was hard to eat being in the middle seat. Movies and music need to be updated -"

Plussat: "Not many qualms during the flight back from Frankfurt - the flight was comfortable and the entertainment system functionded."
Miinukset: "I enjoyed the food on the flight back, however want to note that by the time the crew got to serving economy there were only beef dishes left and passengers were left with no options besides beef. The boarding process was also a bit overwhelming."
Miinukset: "We were delayed by complicated connection from Vienna train station to Vienna airport, by the time we arrived, we missed our flight. We called your customer service, and a recording stated that we would get a reply within 48 hrs. We contacted website customer service and it stated that we would get a reply within 48 hrs. We needed immediate assistance from a HUMAN BEING to change our reservation, that was impossible. We were forced to purchase new tickets, the cost was $2,500, we had to stay overnight in a nearby hotel, the cost was $220. We are returning one day later than planned all because we could not reach you."
Miinukset: "1 After long stand the line when i want to check in my Luggage i got shocking news According to checkin counter lady said Flight delay more than 2hours and can be 3hours no body knows how long will be delay, she recommended me to go from San Francisco to san jose airport to get another flight. it's time Enough she said , that time about 1pm, i am lucky that i arrived SF airport 3hours in advance so that i could manage to catch up another flight at the san jose airport, i had to go san jose airport from San Francisco by Taxi and the cost was 170usd because driver says over 50mils far a way i need to pay 50% more, i have a alot import meeting in germany, meeting schedule could be mess i was really shocking, how can i get back Taxi fee usd170??? 2. regards to Crew., one Passenger was collecting his handy carry luggage at Cabinet and he forgot to close Cabinet cover after he collected and it was opened that time one flight crew passing by to final check up before landing but don't see that cabinet door open, so one of passenger talk to her to close the Cabinet door, also handy carry luggage after used the passenger should Keep Under the chair for safety but even passenger keept (put) in her beside empty seat, the Crew don't say anything, it was many people keept in next empty seat area. According to rull must keep it under seat, but crew don't say anything I was very very surprised. it's very Dangerous to everybody people may hurt , i was very Scared and nervous. 3. in the dark room passenger can't see or feels that behind them whether crew come or not (passing by or not) Crew passing by and hit passenger but without saying sorry and just go a way. it's impossible... 4. i was standing at Exit door and look at the outside but same time crew came and said to me not friendly and without smile "Excuse me" and i go a way, i saw she crew want to put something inside at dress room. what i want to say the crew could be more nice and smiley face to passenger or could be nice can be wait 5 seconds but was really the way of tone is Racist, this is what i felt, really bad."
Plussat: "I've flown on many different airlines since I was 10 years old and hands down this Lufthansa flight was the best and smoothest flight I have ever experienced. First of all, the plane was very comfortable and had good leg room. The flight staff were all extremely courteous and attentive. There was one point where I was reading in the dark and the crew member asked if I wanted the light turned on to read! Normally I don't sleep on flights, and the same crew member asked if I wanted ice cream since I don't feel like sleeping. The crew seemed to have this magic ability to make the flight more comfortable without the passenger having to even think about it, or try to ask for extra service. All of the crew were just very outstanding and organized throughout the entire flight, they were all generally very helpful and kind. By the time I got off the 14 hour flight, I didn't feel even the slightest bit tired or anxious, I was able to spend time with my friends in Budapest upon landing and stay out till 2 am without having to sleep or rest because the flight was so good."

Miinukset: "AUSTRIA AIRLINES, (YOUR OTHER COMPANY), WENT THRU MY BAG IN O'HARE, FLIGHT 66 TO VIENNA. THEY TOOK OUT ALL OF MY HOUSE, AND CAR KEYS , AND MY REMOTE CONTROL FOR MY PICKUP, (ALL ON ONE RING), AND DID N O T PUT THEM BACK INTO MY BAG. I WILL N E V E R FLY AUSTRIA AIRLINES, OR LUFTHANSA AGAIN! I SENT AN EMAIL TO YOUR CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT...customer.services@lufthansa 3 times and they failed delivery."
Miinukset: "I am writing to you because of the poor service that I experienced with your Operations Manager in Vienna, Paola Contestabile. I travel internationally four to five times a year for the past decade and I have never had such awful service as for my Lufthansa Flight 2329 on Jun 14th under confirmation #62RZK3. I was on my return flight to the US with the exact same carry on baggage that I had left the US with a week earlier- a roller carry on and a backpack for my laptop. This is my standard everywhere in the world that I travel and have never had an issue. I bought a painting on my trip and checked it in. With regards to my carry on, Ms. Contestabile was insistent that I could only have one piece for carry on. I told her to get the baggage rules and I would read them to her. I am a trained lawyer and value the meaning of words and rules. I explained that I am allowed one carry on and a personal item. She argued that my backback is not a personal item and that only a "laptop" is a personal item. I again explained that my personal item was my laptop bag, the same way a purse is a personal item for a lady. She finally relented and allowed me to pass through security and passport check. I assumed that this was the end of her confusion. Little did I expect that while sitting by the gate waiting to board the plane, Ms. Contestabile would emerge again and declare in front of all of the passengers that I would not be allowed to board the flight if I did not check my backpack. I told her this is unacceptable, since she had already cleared me. She said she had changed her mind. I found this response to be ridiculous. When I asked to speak with her manager, she refused to allow it, stating "I am the manager today." Ms. Contestabile even went to the pilot of the plane and convinced him that I was a "safety concern" because I wasn't following her ridiculous interpretation of the rules. This is a pure abuse of power and a threat to true safety when a ground crew member can make such a false and baseless accusation. Luckily, a woman passenger overhearing Ms. Contestabile told me that she could not believe the way she was treating me and offered to carry my bag for me. I am requesting a formal investigation into her actions and appropriate disciplinary procedures to ensure Ms. Contestabile is not allowed to threaten another passenger again."

Miinukset: "On the way back from Munich the gluten free bread served was not edible! I would recommend to change it to something more appetizing. It's been used for way too many years! On the LA bound plane the GF bun was wonderful! Thank you though for caring to serve GF food! Not the most comfortable seats for your back in the economy class."
