Loved the salt water pool, the oceanfront hammocks, the different restaurant options in the hotel, the 24 pool/hot tubs, very friendly and accommodating staff The rooms were very small and didn't have a dresser
I loved the pools, swim up bar, the food was good too! The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean! The beach is man-made, very small, and the ocean is more like an inlet.
Beautiful hotel and amazing location with some great amenity options. The staff was very poorly trained and had terrible customer service skills. In our stay we got completely ignored by a consierge, had to wait to check in an hour after the check in time, a stuffed animal taken from our room by house keeping never to be returned. To top it off the walls are painfully thin, and a group of 6 teenagers got checked in next to us. Loved the location but will stay elsewhere at my next visit.
I liked the beach being right there Wifi didn't work for a few hours tons of problems, when we told staff they said that they would call att, they said nothing was wrong with it, finally me fiddling with my phone, and almost a day later we got it to work. But the one thing that pissed me off, was the fact that they have hidden fees like a deposit of some kind that no one tells you before you go, which you if you pay that deposit with a debit card you're screwed because you have to wait 2 weeks to get it back. Everything is absolutely overpriced even the water. So what I did to frugal with my money was that i bought snacks and water so i wouldn't have to be $5 for a bottle of water. I could go on, but I didn't like it and will not stay here again
The taxes were supposed to be encluded- they were not!!
The Condado Plaza is a great bargain to escape the Winter blues and the excessive snows of the northeast. The staff is pleasant and helpful. When we first arrived and checked in, the room we were assigned had a defective AC unit and it was a humid swamp. I went to the front desk and explained the problem and was immediately moved to another room with working AC. The front desk staff was polite and personal. The hotel needs updating. It appears to have had a renovation in many of the public areas and the rooms. Those areas have a boutique hotel vibe, but the carpet in the hallways of the room floors need to be replaced.
I loved the location. The hotel staff was fabulous. Very friendly and willing to help. The door to my balcony was permanently locked. I would have like to have had access to the balcony.
Everything was so unbelievably great. The staff was awesome, the views were spectacular, the water sports were on point, proximity to the center of old san juan and condado center. extreme value for the money.
Outdated and deteriorated exterior facade. Bar area can use an update. It's a good 20 years behind. More outdoor seating can be added to the terrace.
The staff was very friendly and helpful at the check in. The rooms are very clean and modern. Good location. No room service. No water bottles in the room, if you want something to drink or eat you have to go to the lobby or a cafe in the second floor.
Remote didn't work. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work Room stains on counter and the floor that were not cleaned from previous guest. I checked in after 10 pm and was too tired to asked for a different room , then the remote didn't work, again too too tired to call but in the morning when the exhaust fan fan in bathroom did not work I, thought the view was not worth it.
I really love everything about the Caribe Hilton: the lovely and calm beach, the food, the location, etc. I first came here in 1976 on my honeymoon and have returned twice! Lovely gardens and great service. Prices are very high, especially breakfast!
beautiful pool area Unfriendly staff, most outside people, horrible view, 4 July with no activities, very disappointed
the facilities pool and beach beautiful some rude personnel in valet parking
The hotel itself was very nice and fun, very nice overall design and loved the hot tubs. The rooms were very out dated and a little gross. Mold in bathroom and it need re-caulking.
Awesome views, friendly/helpful staff, and beautiful private beach. Best resort in PR!
The location was excellent: right between old San Juan and Condessa. The pool was small but it was made for hanging around and sunning. Beautiful old ruins right next to the hotel made it picturesque. My view of the sea was beautiful. Pool food was a bit oily.
Nothing. Staying there
I like the exclusive beachfront and pool area with the view and close proximity to old San Juan. The staff was rude and sarcastic except for two which I came across towards the end my stay but far in between. Was treated as if we didn't matter since my arrival. Was told I could check in early as long as I paid a $75 fee when I spoke to them over the phone a day earlier and once I arrived was told I had to wait and I waited 6 hours.
Great location, beach, view of laguna and ocean. Close by recreation areas like Velauno. Old building, rooms need remodeling. 1. Small broken piece of roof under bed 2. Stained shower floor
I enjoyed the private beachfront and pool. Our room was very comfortable, too! I wish there was a shuttle to and from the airport. Also, there was no happy hour on any part of the resort. A special here or there would have encouraged me to eat more at the resort, but instead I explored nearby restaurants.
It was in the right between the old and the new city.
This hotel is in a good location in San Juan, close to the airport, Old San Juan, and La Placita Sancturseas. Pretty beach area and overall appears to have nice banquet and resort amenities. From the website the location on the ocean looks appealing. Unaware of the additional resort charge I encountered when checking in. All additional services extremely expensive and gougingly high for mediocre service. Got sick from the food twice, facilities were dirty, loud and ill kept. Additional cost for ocean view balcony was not even close to that was described online. Perhaps it was just the timing and this hotels abundance of touristas that can't grasp good service from udderly piss poor hospitality and lodging. I've been to San Juan many times and travel frequently for work. Was absolutely accosted at the price, the additional resort charge and the complete disarray I found the resort to be in. Will most likely never stay at a Hilton chain again due to this experience. Not to rant on this as I'm pretty low maintenance, have worked many years in hospitality and it takes little to appease me. This experience was grotesque and I will certainly be more diligent in future bookings. Encouraged in discounts and refunds offered by companies such as Expedia for poor customer services such as this. No more Hiltons for me and most likely the last visit to San Juan given the costs.
The infinity pool was great! Rooms were nice and beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms didn't have vents and the food and drinks are expensive.
The space of the room, the comforting bed and especially the pillows, very very soft, love them. I think if you are staying in the hotel, the parking rates should be subsidiary.
The cleanliness was great, housekeeping department was extraordinary. The people at the Cafe on the lobby were great. Some of the staff at the front desk were not that polite as I was expecting since I am an SPG member.
Hotel is clean and friendly staff Location isn't the best taxi to old San Juan was about 15.00 dollars each way. No restaurants nearby so you have to get a taxicab and can become costly.
Good location and hotel looks great The bedding. The sheets were really dirty and if you pull the comforter up to the light you can see all the dust and deadskin That has been collecting into the comforter and it is digusting.
A good quality hotel conveniently located for the Pan American Cruise Pier which it over-looks on one side. they were over-booked in the superior room category which we had booked so upgraded us to a suite which was first class. I wouldn't recommend the location for a long-term leisure break as you cannot easily walk to anywhere of interest, but it was great for what we wanted (pre-cruise stay)
Staff was wonderful
Housekeeping is mediocre, they take too much time to get the whole floor clean.
We loved the amenities, cleanliness , and attentiveness of staff in addition the local of the hotel to all different conviniences Nothing to dislike
Nice área of San Juan near many restaurants. Old San Juan is a quick 75 cent bus trip (very nice buses) from in front of the hotel. Hotel has great pools, beachfront, with lots of activities for anyone.
Service from the staff was excellent. View from our room was fantastic. Room and grounds were kept very clean. Beach was lovely and kept clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return. A little pricey. Also someone was smoking on their balcony. We could not sit on our balcony one evening because of the smokers. I was told that the hotel policy allows smoking on the balconies as long as their balcony door remains shut. That may be fine to keep smoke out of the room but it doesn't help guests in nearby rooms. Smoking should not be allowed anywhere on the grounds, including balconies.
It was on the beach, close to restraunts, walking to almost everything Drinks were very expensive!! 22$ for a local beer and a glass of sangria!! Worst sangria the whole trip! Went down the street and ordered a 3.99 sangria, was the best one!!
I love how they had all the Amenities on site, and the Staff was Polite always willing to help and offer refreshments. The Rooms had a little Moldy Smell. Other wise my kids love the Pool and the Beach.
EMPLOYEES VERY NICE WORK VERY HARD TO PLEASE YOU LOBBY MUSIC VERY LOUD I USED EAR PLUGS
Location is amazing. Condado area is vibrant. Great restaurants, great sightseeing. Our room had roaches and after getting a minor upgrade, things went downhill. In the fine print, breakfast package excluded my 12 year old daughter, which put us in a weird place because we were then forced to pay for the overpriced breakfast or take her somewhere to eat. The hotel muddled up our booking. We received wrong expectations about our room, which ended up Being small and cramped. Hotel management isn't empowered to take care of customers and we received an "it-is-what-it-is" attitude from the staff. After asking, they said that for a discounted fee, we could upgrade. The total amount meant $250 out of pocket which we couldn't do. This was even after letting them know it was our first time staying there and we were in town to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. The hotel restaurant's food was bland and the quality is not 4 star level. Chefs couldn't even get a boiled egg right for our 18-month old. Every morning, we had to request it at least twice. Room service was poor and slow: a simple order of chicken tenders with ice cream jumped from $12 to $23, between tax and the high delivery fee. To make things worse, after almost an hour, the order arrived with missing silverware and napkins for which we had to call again. Was so let down by this experience. Go to La Concha a block down. The few extra dollars will be well worth it.
I saw all the resorts and this on has the best bang for your buck. I am a young doctor and went with my girlfriend and did extensive research on best water front resorts and this is the one because of the pool and service. Becareful other hotels are in front of rocky beaches that will ruin your vacation. This has great beach prime location and amazing options on things to do.
Our family loved the close proximity to the beach. Taxis were too expensive. There's not enough public transportation.
Nice hotel, a little bit old Staff members are great Location is one of the best in San Juan Nice Beach front, nice poll area, everything else is below average You have CSV, Walgreens, and many restaurants walking distance Everything is overpriced Rooms are old and small Bar is noisy and crowd not cool at all Casino area looks aweful I didn't wasted time on it
Wonderful live music at pool and in lobby. Beautiful beach, plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Nice pool, just a little chilly. Food is so-so and overpriced (no big surprise).
Staff is really courteous, upgraded our room for free. Always smiling, will help you no matter what. Had an amazing stay, and will definitely come back again.
All Staff members we met were friendly and eager to please. The proximity to the beach, restaurants, and Old San Juan makes it an ideal location. The lobby bathrooms were not always clean or had enough supplies. Pool areas need more attention in reference to being cleaned more often, such as dirty towels and plates and cups of food and beverage.
I stay at La Concha frequently. I return because it is a comfortable, chic, friendly, safe resort with many amenities. The dining options are numerous. The staff are accommodating and friendly. The rooms are modern and cozy. The location is perfect. My favorite hotel in Puerto Rico!
All 3 pools were beautiful. Definitely worth the upgrade to an OceanView Suite. The views are out of this world! Restaurants all had good food, even poolside. Pleasantly surprised. Would definitely return To PR and stay here again. Nothing to complain about
Vibrant, entertaining but also relaxing and luxurious. Staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The facility was clean, never noticed bathroom soap, towels, tissue empty or a mess. Room was a suite with ample space, balcony and kitchenette. It seemed much more suited to adults only but there were families. Location was great, right on the beach. Bikes were available which we took into Old San Juan. I would stay here again and again with adults. On occasion, I felt that the music was too loud (ack! I'm getting old!) But that was really it.
location and beach were great.
I liked the facilities that La Concha offers for their guests as well as the modern décor. The location was superb and in close vicinity to Old San Juan, Isla Verde, and the airport. Ease to get around and shop around a bit , although shopping is somewhat limited. The room was clean and the staff very accommodating to our requests. The hotel had three pools, however the main pool was smaller than what's shown in the marketing materials. The infinity pool was great, only wished that it would have been larger. I would definitely say that the ocean view was a great bonus. Overall it was a very good experience at La Concha The beds and pillows were uncomfortable.
Wonderful service, style and ambience. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Loved the suite with full kitchen. Would do this again! HOusekeeping was not cleaning room if I did not ask or let them know I was out. Room did not get made up last day at all, and I was out all day.
Beautiful hotel with open lobby and modern clean feeling. Even though the reservation was a prepaid, I still got hosed with a resort fee. A couple of bottles of water and a beach chair shouldn't cost 25 bucks. Got the runaround as to why my Marriott status was worth nothing at this resort property.
I loved the 3 different pool options. We used the adult pool the entire time, which is much quieter and has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Most staff were so friendly and helpful. Menu is pretty reasonable and prices are comparable to surrounding area, except quality is much much better. Tuna salad was my favorite thing by far. Mixed drinks were weak and pricey. Rules weren't always enforced. Example, there was a 5 year old at the adult pool for about 2 hours until someone finally noticed. We were also told we couldn't bring our own mixed drinks to the pool, yet others would blatantly have a 6 pack from cvs out in the open. Hallways were a little dingy.
The beach and pool facilities are great My room did not electricity for 48 hours, the hotel would not offer much more than a complimentary buffet breakfast.
I liked everything. The staff was incredibly accommodating. The hotel itself was amazing and exactly what I wanted, which was a place with character and charm. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
The attention to detail and quality was evident in the furnishings and finishes of the hotel. The staff as courteous and responsive and the daily guest wine and cheese reception was a nice touch. It's location is hard to beat and the hotel blends well into the historical city of Old San Juan. There is a lot of traffic directly outside. Not good for early check in.
It's a historic building with an invaluable art collection. Their claim to have a pool is ludicrous.
Nice.we would recommend it to anyone for a short stay..
I liked the fact that everything was very clean and neat, even thou the hotel is almot at the end of the street, It's still walkable to the rest of the places you would like to go..(shopping, food, entertainment, beach). On the other hand I didn't like the fact that they have extra charges after you pay everything online, they charge you for parking, $10.00 per night and also $28.00 extra per night... Those were the other charges after we had already paid everything online.. Just keep in mind that you have would have to pay "extra"
Close to the airport, friendly staff. It was a good sign that many of the crew members from our flight also stayed there. Free breakfast left a little to be desired, but you get what you pay for.
I loved the staff are excellent the pool area is fascinating, as the fourth very cute and the food deluciosa I dont report it why all is excelent
Loved the happy hour that included free drinks and snacks, the free beach chairs to borrow, the swim up bar, the modern design of the hotel, the helpful staff, the free breakfast, the comfy beds. Nothing
From staff to wake up call eveything was on point N/A
It was very clean, comfortable and everything you would expect from a Hampton Inn and Suites.
Great hotel. People very helpful to make it the best stay ever Luv everything
Nice view to the bay, pretty roof swimming pool and good gym No parking, bad service in the front desk. No attention to the guest. They send me to the wrong room with a family inside... They don't pay attention to what they do in the front desk. Not possible to book in the front desk the man make me reserve through a phone and it was not possible. At the end, I had to make the booking on my cellphone because they were not kind enough to make me a reservation.
Great place to stay at since it if very close to the cruise port. Wish they had a shuttle to pick up at the airport. Also pool was too small. Need different tile for the pool area because that tile is very slippery.
The hotel is in a great location for touring Old San Juan. Taxi access great and right on the waterfront. The staff and service here is perfect. It's so unbelievably overpriced for a mid-range style Sheraton it made us choke paying their prices. However, they know they can hold you hostage with those prices given the other hotel options in Old San Juan. Its quite loud in the hallways, but I must say the location is awesome.
Great location, right in old San Juan. Casino was fun at night. Rooftop pool was fun during the day. No view from our room, but that wasn't a big deal.
The location was great for walking they old San Juan and to get on cruise ship. A/C in our room didn't work. Only received two channels on tv. Advertised as having its own casino inside hotel and there was no casino. Very disappointed.
The hotel was very convenient. It is walking distance from the cruise port and the rest of Old San Juan. Staff very friendly.
Perfectly located for visitors looking to explorer Old San Juan on foot. the entire staff was exceptionally helpful with points of interest and restaurants in the area. Will definitely stay there upon our next visit Wish they had a café or store that was open extended hours.
Perfect location next to the port of San Juan. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and shopping all within walking distance. Resort fee added at the end of stay - this is not a resort property, just a standard hotel with a casino is all.
Expensive and noisy. Nice location
I like the location. The staff was excellent. I like that they have a concierge to help set up excursions. I like the spacious room and modern decor. The best st is the coffee shop in the lobby and the burger place next door is yummy. I had an inner room so did have much of a view but that's ok. I didn't spend kuch time int the room. I would have liked if they had a small store to buy sodas candy and chips.
Great location in Old San Juan. A bit pricey, but you're walking distance to everything in Old San Juan. Room was clean, staff was friendly. I loved my stay. Got to the airport, picked up the rental car, drove to the Sheraton, and didn't drive it again until we left the next evening. The parking was like $20 a day or so. Valet only. There is parking nearby in a garage that is more economical. We chose to leave out car with the hotel.
I received everything I was looking for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location.
It was close to cruise ship terminal. Staff friendly Clean Small pool Restaurant a bit pricey No beach For 250 a night I expected more Not a resort, just a hotel...no frills
the location. That's all a) no parking. Only valet , very slow car return. & 15 USD more... b one person for check in and one for check out only. Only one credit card terminal that decline my credit card. No other alternative. I used that same credit card the day before and hours later stillin San Juan ....and it worked perfectly... c) Breakfast at le Papillon. The two girls simply do not use their mouth for even saying hello, good bye. You can say thanks thousand times, it does not matter, they keep on ignoring you d) dinner at the other restaurant. They had a trouble with paperwork and could not serve alcohol...so they spent the entire dinner running around tables nervously...waiters, maitre ...everybody....polite at least but overwhelming....
The staff, very helpful
Poor. Did not clean the room one day.
Hotel is a little dated
The staff was super friendly and helpful. No on site parking and no breakfast.
Our reservation was for two rooms. When arrived at the hotel at 2:AM, they said it was only one. I showed them the Kayak confirmation email, and they provided us with the second room. The rooms were as perfect as they could be. We only stayed one night on the way to my mother-in-law's funeral. We got the rest, that we needed to face the next few days. Staff was very helpful. Nothing.
Location Air didn't work, room was not a good value for the price, bathroom needs updating.
Great breakfast, food was perfect. area surrounding hotel, looked a bit seedy. Short of staff at restaurant, but food was great.
I loved the view from my window....El Morro:)) Having to valet park. No other option
Good service Anything
Located in the middle of Old San Juan. Easy walk to most everything. Hotel was built in 1860, so it's not super modern. Most everything works, just a little slow sometimes. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Would stay again. Wasn't disappointed in much, just understand going in that it's 155 years old.
Room was dated, hair in bathroom, toilet clogged, shower head calcified and dirty, twin sized bed and I order to get an additional two size bed you have to pay $25-$50... Last but not least bed bugs, I stayed one night and got out of there. Location
Service and location.
Location in the center of Old San Juan is great. I did not like that I paid extra for a room with balcony access that didn't have it. The doors were locked with key. When I asked for assistance with the doors the staff acted surprised that they were locked with key and none of them knew where to find them or how to get the doors open. The air conditioning was also set to heater when we arrived to the room. When we mentioned the staff member at the front desk simply said to wait it out for it to cool off. Sorry but if I wanted heat in Puerto Rico I could simple open the balcony doors. Oh never mind those were yet another amenity that was falsely advertised.
large room, great balcony view, right in the heart of old San Juan
Gave us access to Isla Verde Marriott courtyard facilities as well. Staff was great! Across the street from a supermarket, near plenty of restaurants. Hotel menu was unimpressive, pool area not attached to the beach, but really there is a ton to like about this hotel!
It was a wonderful experience. The staff was warm and friendly, and the room was immaculate.
Excellent staff and service Welcome cookies Resort fees but this would go for all hotels in the area. Parking options
free cookies and ping pong table. staff was very friendly Lobby smelled like sewage. there was a stain on one of the towels. The bed comforter looked dirty, but I think it was actually the stuffing just clumped together from washing many times.
La localizacion Precios altos, el area de la picina pequeña y tenia muchas ojas. Me cobraron dos veces la trasancion y no me ofrecieron algún descuento o estadia. Aun espero por mi credito de vuelta.
Live that the rooms were clean and modern. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a bit of a walk to hot spots. If you're ok with walking 10 minutes or more to the nearest hot spot then your stay will be a walk on the beach!
Customer service House keeping. They took too long to clean our floor.
Good location, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Hotel staff were friendly and informative. All areas of hotel were very tidy. I felt very welcomed and appreciated during my stay. The foot sham on the bed had stains. Cleaning service did not clean the glasses we used in the room. Hallways were quite cold for my taste. A bit pricey. Seems to be the norm in San Juan.
Poool open24 hour a thumbs up! Lost my eyeglasses , i called first they say they found one and later no trace of them.. .strange.
Good location, everything was clean, great staff. Parking not included.
Really close to the beach and Condado !!!
Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions-Would stay here again if in the area-Loved the terrace on the top floor, we preferred that to a pool.
I like the fact that you were close to restaurants and shopping. Close to the cruise port. We took a walk to Walmart and Marshall's near by. They have a roof top lounge area that is very nice at night. Wonderful breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. There is also a 24 hour restaurant across the street. There are plenty of eating places in the area. Had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready. So they stored everyone's luggage while they explored the town.
Everything was great. Limited parking.
The staff were wonderful. Especially the young women who works in the evenings. She offer to park our car. It was so helpful because, never being in Puerto Rico, we didn't know where we could park in the streets. She always went above and beyond. Loved our stay.
Staff were professional and very helpful throughout our stay. Clean and a great location. Hotel had a great view of the ocean and parts of the city. Transportation was easy to grab to go to Old San Juan. It's our second time here and we will definitely be back soon. N/A
I left a plastic bag with packaged foreign sweets in the regrigerator of my hotel room behind unwittingly and the staff made no attempt of rescuing this bag for me. I called the following day and the fact that it did not occur to the corresponding staff person that the bag might have meant something to its owner, seeing that the products inside were not just local fare, aggravates me. The hotel should have at least a 24 hour policy of holding on to things that any guest leaves behind, no matter how small or insignificant they might seem to them, so that if the guest who left has a chance of reclaiming them, he/she can. In this respect, the hotel disappointed me.
Staff was very helpful! Great recommendations for food and places to go. Would definitely stay again.
Room size was good and the redone bathroom was beautiful! Also LOVED the rooftop deck. It was our favorite thing about our stay because it was very quiet with good views of the city and harbor and lovely seating arrangements. We also enjoyed walking the neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants close by and even a grocery store where we picked up a few things. And we walked to a lovely little park right on the water's edge. I thought our room had a strange odor, but my husband thought it was fine. If we had been staying more than one night I would have complained and asked to change rooms but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Also our shower curtain had mildew on it, which I realize is difficult to avoid with the humidity in San Juan, but housekeeping needs to stay on top of this.
Had an excellent stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I could tell the woman who was over our floor took pride in her work.
I like that is in a good area , not bad at all. Some convenience places to eat and buy simple things. Close walking to some local and hotel beaches. The hotel staff are very friendly and helped me out in every question or need I had. They solved the problem when I first arrive due to they gave me a room that had very bad smell of humidity. I was happy they found one Avalos room. This a small hotel that I recommend for a couple or just Adult Solo trip. Not for a family. Hallways in every floor need ventilation, it feels dry and some smell not bad but to a closed space smell. but in overall rate is a good hotel towards excellent for the price, WIFI Very good and having signal everywhere in the hotel. Quiet enough for resting. Bathroom nice and big, shower very good pressure. I would use this hotel for my solo trip but for the overall, I would suggest not to pay more than a $90.0 per night. I don't watch TV but I heard people complaint about problems with TV, until I had the experience my TV lost signal. I did not request to get it fixed because I expent my time outside the hotel. Bath tube drain clogged while showering so water was filling up above your feet. Parking not recommended... Very tiny space for all cars and every time you want to use the car same person at the front desk had to move and re park the other cars, while some one is waiting at the front desk until this person finish to accommodate the cars again. Don't get me wrong... They were always helpful, friendly and always willing to help you. Bad quality of customer service in the restaurant in front the hotel... and pricy.. But better go to other areas. Curtains in the room are too smal of the size of the window..so light comes through all night and doesn't keep the room dark. No door tags for RESTING /DO NOT DISTURB.. So cleaning service (very nice) they have to knock out your door. Price. I believe the rate is little high for what is worth. Find a better discount in the Internet even so the hotel is not Chain hotel company. Good luck.
Nice clean hotel will a very nice staff. The lady that was the desk clerk was outstanding. They have a roof top terrace on the 9th floor with an outstanding view of the area. The area also has a nice local flair with many local restaurants and there is a grocery store a few doors down. I would stay here again.
What's not there to like? There's nothing there not to like!
location to beach and pool Dollar you to death. They charge 22.00 a day for beach taxes and do not tell you to you check out and then apply it to the 200.00 that you must put down when check in. ( THIS IS JUST FRAUD ). when I paid 6.00 usd to use there computer in there business center, the internet would not work. They refused to refund my money. Told me to come back tomorrow and i could use the computer for free. I told them i was checking out today and wanted credit for my 6.00. I was told by management they could not refund me. Due to these hidden cost, we moved to a different hotel.
Had to spend one extra day in PR after vacation elsewhere, and we randomly picked the IH. We were pleasantly surprised. They let us do early check-in 4 hours before the regular time. The room was very comfortable for all 4 of us, and the beds were super comfortable. The facilities were also great, beautiful pools and of course a nice beach. Will be back for a longer stay next time. It's not inexpensive, but still a good value.
The staff was friendly This is not an all inclusive resort, it does not even offer breakfast. We do not feel like we got our money's worth.
Liked the pool and beach. Service was horrible. Staff wasn't friendly. Had to ask front desk 3 times for someone to unclog our bathroom shower (super unhygienic) and after everything was said and done they didn't come to fix it or move us rooms. They didn't even compensate us for the horrible inconvenience. The place felt really run down and in a not so safe location for walking around. Additionally the bathroom wouldn't stop flushing all night so the sound of water was really annoying. Not to mention the smell of this rancid running water. Waist experience at an intercontinental (which I'm truly a fan of usually).
Nothing I paid a butt-ton of money to stay at this hotel. The girl at the front desk didn't even say hello to me when I was checking in. That says it all right there. Then she hit me with a massive resort fee, which definitely was not worth it. Then I said to her: "If you're going to hit me with an 18 percent resort fee, you might want to ease the blow with a simple greeting." Probably won't be headed back to Puerto Rico anytime soon. I'll just stay in NY where people treat you like shit, but at least you're still in NY.
The staff, the view Sliding door to balcony was hard to open and close.
The location is right on the beach, close to the airport. Good views from the ocean facing rooms. We were on the 16th floor and it was great. Lots of restaurants nearby and within the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. Great housekeeping staff, very friendly and helpful Sand fleas...a tiny bug that bites like a mosquito/bed bug. They were all over in our room. This was before we had even stepped on the beach, so they were there before we came and stayed with us till the end. We had to apply bug repellent to sleep and not be bitten. No activities by the hotel. They charge a resort fees but it feels more like a traditional hotel rather than a resort. Tiny bathrooms No easy access to clothes dryer, c'mon you are on the beach.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Joyce promptly answered my emails/questions before we got there. Location was perfect. Right in Old Town San Juan. Couldn't find an outlet in the bathroom. Made it a bit more difficult to get ready in the morning. Room was small but wasn't an issue for us because we were only in our room to sleep.
The position is great , the staff is excellent, clean, nice, the best place to walk Old San Juan
We loved our stay at this cozy little boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan! Lots of character and small rooms (which we liked and found so comfortable). Loved the chandeliers in the bedroom and even bathroom! The staff was so accommodating and friendly and hauled my overstuffed, incredibly heavy bag all the way up 5 flights of stairs with no problem (they don't have an elevator yet). The rooftop was so unique and overlooked the city too! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a different kind of experience than the Hilton and big chain hotels. They're currently installing an elevator but the staff will gladly carry bags up the stairs for you.
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Iconoclastic décor. I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel, but it does not meet the lowest level of fire safety standards. There is only one open stairway leading to all the floors and no secondary means of escape--not even a fire escape. There is not separation between the lobby and the restaurant. There is no sprinkler system.
I liked the location on Calle Fortaleza, close to good restaurants and to parking lot. The room was incredibly small. I need to talk to someone in the front desk to get my key, and they had a sign that says "for help text x number". Nobody answered until the next day when I had left already. How did I finally get my key? I opened the desk and there it was, no help, no security, no supervision. I just took it and kept going.
Hotel was very cleaned, staff was so attentive and personable, room was comfortable enough for 2 people.
This was our second visit. We love the historic and quaint atmosphere this hotel provides, exactly the experience we wanted in Old San Juan. This small hotel is not crowded and staff treat you like a personal guest. They go above and beyond to help you and ensure you enjoy your stay. It can be a bit noisy but at no fault of the hotel. When you stay on Fortaleza St you are in the center of the action and hear music from neighboring restaurants. We did not mind this. Being in the center of things was important to us and we felt part of the activity and excitement that is Old San Juan.
This is a very charming little hotel in a great location in the middle of Old San Juan, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it. The bed was pretty hard. I overpaid because I booked through this site. I would have paid much less booking with the hotel directly. I recommend you do that.
Needs to be renovated
It was affordable & 2 blocks to the beach. It was clear that the staff did not like Americans or really hated their good jobs.
Clean, quiet hotel; close to city bus for economical trips to Old San Juan; very close to ocean and restaurants; excellent complimentary breakfast. I would like to have been told, when checking in, about the pool and patio, which I would have used after returning hot from walking about.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple but very comfortable. It is ideally located in the very popular Condado area The breakfast could be a bit more varied
The front desk staff were awesome! Internet access was pretty simple, they just need a few more computers.
Location is good. A lot of activities and shopping near by Bed too soft for my liking
a room without a window for 4 nights
A very good continental breakfast. The TV was decent. Old, needs painting and updates, very noisy with tile floors throughout and slaming doors during the night. Ocuupants next to our room checked in at 9pm and partied until 3:30 am. Front desk personel did not seem very interested in providing service. Pool water was merky. Ice for all rooms could only be obtained from one machine at the pool. I'm surprised that they remain in business. Bad ending to a fantastic cruise.
We got to relax and enjoy the pool. And we enjoy walking around the tourist sites. Well, the only thing that we didn't like was that my daughters bed was full of sand and we ask for maid services but the sheet still had sand.
disappointed with standard of 'superior' rooms
I went away with my 15 year old daughter for a mother daughter weekend away we arrived on Thursday and left on Monday Overall stay was great staff were awesome and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable Rooms were clean and comfortable pool was small but just what we were looking for not to many people to compete with for chairs Loved all the different areas around the hotel for sitting and relaxing beach was less then a block away and not to crowded Staff were great friendly and helpful Sister hotel a block away had great breakfast Area was close enough to shopping and restaurants but far enough away for peace and quiet Beach less then block away
The staff at the hotel Niche restuarant were very friendly and the food superb. We also like the unique areas- such as the wind chimes chill out area, and the jacuzzi where you could just relax. There were a few items in the rooms that did not work properly when we arrived. It would be good for all items (hairdrier, safes) to be checked that they are in working order before new arrivals to the room.
Location good No parking No pool Internet service unreliable Outdated building
Just walking thru the front gate up the front stairs and into the lobby the place had a wonderful old feel to it, from the carvings on the stair railings to the tiles on the floors as well as the architecture of the buIldings. The desk staff was amazing. We had only rented the room on Kayak two hours before we showed up. Check in was at 2pm, but coming back from a cruise we had nothing to do so showed up at 10am just to see if we could store our luggage until 2pm check in. They were kind enough to say yes. Our room had a double bed and was small but clean. They still use real keys on a key chain which I found very charming. There is a small swimming pool with a water fall running into the pool. The lighting and the plants in the back area and around the bar area are just lovely. There are no elevators and no bus boys which did not bother us but if you have an upper room you might want to take that into consideration if you like to pack heavy. The beach is one block away so easy walking. They do not have a restaurant on site but you can order from a limited menu and it is delivered to you from their "sister" hotel. Restaurants and pharmacies are within easy walking distance. The area is safe and you don't feel afraid to go out after dark. If you are looking for someone to wait on you and a maid on hand. ..this is not for you. But if you want a charming romantic villa style place to stay. ..I highly recommend this. Our room was next to the street and we got a lot of street noIse. Other than that. ..I didn't have any thing I didn't like.
The location, price, and staff were amazing . Room was a little dated but still cozy a great stay.
The pool was small, but great. Water was warm and it was well tended to.
Quiet setting , close proximity to restaurants and Old San Juan.
I loved the place, the staff, the location, the cozy boutique hotel. The rooms were old Spanish style, with a nice pool, and terrace. Bar, and near by beach, and restaurants. The worst part, and only thing I will not consider it again, is the parking issue. Parking in the establishment or around the building is 99% impossible. I had to walk 3 blocks and paid $25 to park. For that I might as well pay for a more expensive hotel with available parking.
Close to the ocean, quiet,relaxing,
Exterior, location, lobby, style. No chair or sofa nor desk in the room. No closet for clothes.
I often stay at Wind Chimes. It is affordable, clean, attractive, and nicely situated for walking or bus lines. I would love access to tables for computer work. It would be nice to have a table and chair in the room
Unique architecture, well-designed layout affording privacy, laid back setting,.close to beach, in nice section of Condado, a comfy homey feeling Check in at sister hotel up the street
Peaceful elegance, helpful staff, good food, walk to beach, near Bebos, bus to Old San Juan, easy to get to and from airport, good view of ocean from rooms. Not a complaint, but something to consider: parking difficult to find on street.
Surrounding nature. Lack of elevator and steep stairs - hard and almost impossible to take it up if you have large luggage. Also dark room, and sheets not washed properly.
The hot tub is pretty sweet. Mosquitos, the price, the lack of accessible staff.
The rooms were comfortable and adequately appointed. Decor was eclectic and attractive. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only negative thing I would say is that it seemed to be in not a great neighborhood. There were bars on The windows of most buildings surrounding the hotel and several of the business is required buzzers at the front door to let their customers in as did the Acacia.
Large outdoor jacuzzi very well maintained. Friendly staff. Free wi-fi. Close to beach with towels provided. Stained sheets. Breakfast only for those who have lots of time to spare (actually we usually did have). Needed to go to 'At Wind Chimes' to access reception
Clean, and looks new. Balcony is nice. Location is just one minute walk to public beach where many people gathers. Rate is not so high comparing to the others. A little far (10-15 minutes walk) from Condad central area (Mariott). I cannot find major restaurants near the hotel. No bath tub, just shower in the room. TV is small, old type.
Loved the location and the overall esthetic of the hotel. Charming appeal and friendly staff. The rooms were not cleaned well. There was an overall feeling that the cleaning crew did not clean the bathrooms and floor well. The mirrors were not cleaned and the glass not wiped down in bathroom nor was the toilet cleaned during routine am service.
