I expected a better flight. The food was very poor. The aircraft was too warm

Plussat: "Flight was good. The problem was the ticket purchased from Kayak was not as stated. Because there was a layover in Amsterdam, I was not able to check my bag all the way through to USA. AND I had to visit 5 counters to check bag, pay for bag at different counter and 3 other counters!"
Miinukset: "It would have been better if the ticket I purchased was the one that I selected. It was not as advertised. I searched for ticket that was translatlantic with one checked bag. BUT kayak booked an ECONOMY LIGHT fare that required payment. It was not as advertised and a total head ache for check in."

Miinukset: "I would highly recommend both Lufthansa and Austrian adjust their entertainment systems. They seem not to weight much the top films with, say 75% Rotten Tomatoes reviews or higher. Even if there were fewer options for cost reasons, I would think they'd still have more watcher enjoyment. Rather than pad the list with the likes of Boss Baby or Going out in Style or even a mediocre 60% offering in the Fast and Furious franchise. Wonderful crew, though, can't say enough about how polite and attentive they are."
Plussat: "This was our first time flying with Lufthansa and it was our favorite airline so far!! The flight attendants are why our experience was so great, they are so kind and helpful"

Miinukset: "Horrible food: over-salted and "mystery meat" for lunch; only given a small piece of bland cheese pizza for dinner and that was it. I suggest providing a small bottle of water for a long flight instead of a small cup of drink during the two meal times. I felt dehydrated during the flight (wasn't able to buy a bottle of water beforehand) and didn't want to keep buzzing the flight attendants repeatedly."
Miinukset: "The business class is not really a business class, and the chairs are not comfortable. Moreover, there was no entertainment. During the boarding there was no distinction between Business and Economy class. There should be an opportunity for business class to board at any time."
Miinukset: "I missed flight to Los Angeles because of laziness and carelessness of Lufthansa employees. I came with the train on 12/26/16 at 8:33 am to catch flight to Los Angeles at 10:05 am. I had plenty of time. As soon as got of the train I got into line to check my luggage. I had boarding pass already. Line to check luggage was huge with 2-3 clerks to check luggage for all US flights. After while I complained that I will miss flight to several clerk who were standing around talking on the phones all the time but answer, if I got one was, sir you will be fine. After one hour I got to security check line which was equally long. I complained again no response. With probably 20 minutes left I cut the line on my one mad as hell. I got at 10:00 am at the gate and some older lady was like " Sorry sir we closed the flight". I said "What do you mean, it is 10 am and flight is at 10:05am??? "Sir we sold your ticket" I couldn't believe her words. Anyway they sent me to Munich to catch flight to LA next day. Best part I HAD TO PAY HOTEL IN MUNICH BECAUSE LUFTHANSA DID WANT TO COVER EXPENSES. I don't know what happened to famous German organizational skills or this is just Lufthansa and her careless employees."

Plussat: "Timely distribution of meals/drinks, uncommonly quick boarding and ... unboarding. I travel with a musical instrument and some airlines want to check it and some even insist on checking it, even though there is always plenty of room. This was a completely full flight and no one even mentioned the possibility of checking it; they put me in an early boarding line and put it in a closet. The way they handle this for myself and the other passenger with an instrument made our day, as well as making boarding smoother forbus and everyone else. Really excellent job on that!"
Miinukset: "Old televisions with somewhat limited entertainment options. Im tall and every seat in coach is too small for me, but thats the case on every flight ive been on."

Very good

Reliable flight with a good airline.

The Wi-Fi was out which really made the flight seem a lot longer.

We were 3 minutes late to the gate, along with at least a dozen other people trying to make this connection, but the flight did not wait for us. Awful. We were only late because there was only one person at the security checkpoint, and they checked every bag and every person one by one.

Miinukset: "Dinner and breakfast were terrible, especially for a long transatlantic flight. Attendants were curt. Movie selection was subpar compared to other airlines on similar flights I’ve taken."

Miinukset: "The flight was over 2 hours late leaving Copenhagen, and then we sat at the gate while they unloaded bags to find the luggage of some passengers who decided not to be on that flight. Then it was total chaos at O'Hare. Very few SAS ticket agents who were not prepared to deal with the many passengers who had missed connections. We spent the night on hard chairs in the airport when we could have been re-booked on a flight out that night if they had been at all organized and efficient."
Plussat: "I liked that it was available for me to return to Amsterdam in such late notice. Got there quickly and even earlier (10 mins) then expected."
Miinukset: "No on offered me anything to drink or a snack the entire flight or even a hand towel but others in front and behind me were receiving them. I didnt even feel acknowledged during the flight. Even though the tine was good, the price was way too high but since I was desperate I paid it."
Plussat: "Flight attendants"
Miinukset: "Hottest I have ever been in a plane (we were in 40G and H) and I “run cold”. We were sweating and drinking water like crazy (they gave us one bottle and did not routinely walk the aisles handing out more). Luckily we brought our own water. Early June and headed to Scandinavia, not someplace hot. Seats were hard and I put my unused blankets under me."

Miinukset: "No entertainment, only coffee and tea served."
Miinukset: "Check-in was a disaster. Took almost one hour for a trainee to check us in. Printed 8 bag tickets (for 2 bags) and after we complained was told there was no line at immigration, so should be okay. Guess having a 3 year old wasn’t enough for us to get any compassion or expedited service. At gate. No early boarding for children."

Miinukset: "Flight delayed, had to take 2 other flights to get to the final destination. Arrived at 9pm instead of 2pm."

Plussat: "I liked that boarding and take off went smoothly. The cabin crew was extremely nice and always was there when you need something!"

Plussat: "No entertainment. Food not part of basic deal. But was both no problem for me because it was a short flight. On both points I rather would say: N/A"

Miinukset: "Why can't SAS ever be on time? The last 4-5 flights I've been on have connected me either too late or just barely in time for connecting flights. Please be more like Swiss."
Miinukset: "I was really disappointed at finding out at luggage check-in that I had to pay extra (£60.00) for my one regular-size suitcase. On the return flight I was told that this amount would be - as it turned out in my case - less than half, if I called SAS a day before departure. Why did I have to pay for the checked luggage at all?"
Plussat: "Not much to say on a positive note, I want to avoid this airline if I can."
Miinukset: "Three and a half hour flight and all they offer free is coffee and soft drinks! The economy seats are small and the flight attendants are indifferent, until it's time to promote their duty free products. Find an airline with better customer service."
Plussat: "Service on the plane was good. The airplane was on time."
Miinukset: "From the time we reached the airport until we got to the gate was 90 minutes. SAS systems for checking baggage by machine sucks. My wife's number on the booking reference didn't work in the machine Thus we waited in line for 20 minutes to get a boarding pass, but didn't get the baggage tags for her luggage. Another line. SAS overall sucks."
Miinukset: "The agent at the gate misled me into thinking there would be no fee associated with a checked bag. When it turned out there was, I was told it was too late."

Miinukset: "This was a connecting flight that was swapped to go to Newark instead of DC due to unforeseeable delays in DC. Not bad in and of itself but they only gave me a few hours notice that my flight was changed (email sent at 1 AM on a 7 AM flight) and I lost my already paid for upgrade to premium economy. They couldn't find any record of me having purchased an upgrade when I went to check in on my 5+ hour flight."

Reserved my tickets almost a year in advance and paid twice the normal fare to have an emergency exit row, instead got the row in front of it that has no reclining seats!!! SAS's cramping passengers into a sardine can strategy really hit a new low."

Miinukset: "The flight didn't even exist because of a strike and neither kayak nor SAS informed us the flight was canceled, so we found out after we got to the airport."

The airline ran late and I almost missed this connecting flight to LGW. The airline didn't act very sympathetic to my situation. I wished that didn't happen as my experience I'm sure would've been much different.

Miinukset: "I’ll say the same thing about almost every flight I have, and this is mostly for the airlines. People might fly more and pay a bit more if you give us more room. Being crammed into a tiny seat with a bunch of strangers is never pleasant. Same in this flight. Nothing terrible, just the usual. Also, to the other passengers, sit down until it’s your turn to exit. What is wrong with you that you can’t sit five more minutes? Be polite and let the people in front of you go first, let them have room to grab their bags instead of having your elbows in their face."
Miinukset: "The flight was late by half an hour and I had to pay 60€ because my cabin bag was 2kg heavier than allowed."
Plussat: "The crew was friendly. Baggage arrive safely. But the repeated commercial interruptions trying to sell things made me wonder if it was commission based - a nap was not possible from the announcements but you could buy things duty free. I am glad it was a short flight. A new plane."
Miinukset: "There are no queues. A free for all to load and unload the plane. If you are looking for Swiss order, look elsewhere. Nothing is free, not water (1.5 euro) or any other beverages or anything else. We paid double what the flight should cost to not even be offered water. The seats were lightly padded to maximize seats. There was a small amount of leg room but some. No power outlets, wifi or media. The worst aspect is I bought a flight on Baltic Air from Tallinn to Riga and had the price from Riga to Paris on the next tab on kayak. I bought the ticket from Tallin to Riga then flipped to buy Riga to Paris only to learn it was a bait price. The price was actually $200 more. Baltic would not refund the first flight (within minutes) so we were stuck to either walk away from our 2 tickets to Riga or pay the bait and switch rate. We begrudgingly paid 400 (200 each) euro MORE than the initial price shown so we could fly out of Riga back to Paris (to be back in Paris by Jan 7). A non alcoholic beverage, a small snack, and power access would be helpful. Ground crew helping with order would be helpful. I was shoved and run over trying to get onto and off the plane. It is the wild west of flying except the plane is new...oh, and it is 30 euro if you do not check in online ahead. But you will still need to stand in line to check a bag (where they can issue you a boarding pass)."

Miinukset: "No food included in the price of my very expensive ticket, and to make it worse, I was not informed. There was no info while booking, no info while buying the ticket, no email after buying, no email from the airline, nothing. I’ve never even heard of a transatlantic flight without a meal included."

Miinukset: "Coffee creamer sachets are insufficient in quantity for the coffee. Even with two sachets the coffee was still nearly black. The flight was full and the cost of checked in luggage ensured everyone used their carry on allowance. As a consequence, overhead bins were full. I left one bag at the front of the plane and had another at my feet. However, it was a short flight, so not too unbearable."

Miinukset: "When I got to the check-in desk, I was told to get out of line and check in online. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been good to know that it was necessary to do this so I didn't wait in line for a long time."

Miinukset: "Long delay on first flight leg Staff provided little help with transfers, made us run through airport but then decided to close the next flight anyway without the transfer passengers Next flight offered was 9 hours later, only offer was a 10EUR meal voucher - ridiculous"
Plussat: "the flight started at time. the attendant were fine. but i consider this flight not as a cheap flight. therefore, it should be possible, so early in the morning to offer a coffee at least."
Miinukset: "the experience on board should be improved, particularly when the flight is not different from regular airlines in terms of cost"

Miinukset: "super small plane... had to climb a very narrow staircase into the plane... overhead bins couldn't accommodate much of anything... we weren't warned this in advance"

Miinukset: "The plane we were supposed to be on from Riga to Helisinki had mechanical problems so they switched our plane. We had an hour delay do to that. Then when we got to Helsinki our luggage never made it."

Miinukset: "I pre-paid two checked bags (one each for my husband and myself). At check in we were told I had not done this and we had to go pay at another desk in the airport and come back to the check in line, 40 euros each. I showed the agent my paperwork that showed one bag each--it was not explicit on the paper whether this was the allowance or what I had paid--and she shrugged and said "Bad information. You have to pay now and you can take it up with the airline later." This will be a pain in the neck."

Plussat: "The plane was very clean and new. The crew who worked this flight were most friendly, professional and quite articulate in three languages including the captain. I highly recommend them."
Miinukset: "Charging 30 Euros to check in at the airport is lunacy."
Miinukset: "This is an airline that has perfected the art of nickle-and-diming customers. One example: I asked for a glass of water. The smug flight attendant told me, “We only sell bottled water,” with a look that dared me to complain."
Miinukset: "I needed to cancel the flight a month before, and I got no refund"
Plussat: "We arrived safely. Bilingual staff."
Miinukset: "The seats are worn and creek with every movement. There is very limited leg room even for someone who is short. When the person in front of you leans back it is impossible to reach your hand baggage or do anything but lay back in your seat. The landing was safe but not at all comfortable."
Plussat: "The helpful ground person at check-in."
Miinukset: "This airline company looks a like person who is begging for money. First time in my life I paid for the luggage. 40 Euros!!! what for? Apparently Air Baltic has no clue about how to run a service business. Somebody has to teach them this naked reality: IN SERVICE BUSINESS YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR MAJOR MARKETING ASSETS! They don't even serve a glass of water, apparently they could not manage to integrate it in the ticket price. But they dare to get thirsty and unhappy customers on the plane. Anyways: This airline company is charging extra for luggage. And I could not see this anywhere when I was buying ticket online. If I knew I'd never buy the ticket from Airbaltic. "Not writing it clearly and visible at the time of ticket purchase" is certainly tricking and misleading us. This is a crime!"
Miinukset: "In Stockholm they denied my boarding to Riga and Moscow as they told me that I need Shengen visa. When I was buying ticket I wasn't informed that I need to have Visa. I always travel through Europe with layovers and never have this issue before. I had to buy another ticket straight to Moscow and wait in the airport for 8 hours. I ask to reimburse me half of the price of this ticket."
Miinukset: "I was flying transit, but I had to go through the check-in in Paris. At the check-in they started to make problems about my carry-on luggage. I had just two flights from the United States behind me and no problems at all and suddenly I can't fly with my carry-on luggage? I didn't like the AirBaltic check-in service."
Plussat: "Boarding went well and crew was nice."
Miinukset: "The air conditioning was not working properly on the 3 hour flight which made it a bit sweaty and unfortable. The purchase of a cold beer was a must."
Plussat: "Everything was very smooth and the crew was very attentive."
Plussat: "It got me from point A to point B."
Miinukset: "Seat was uncomfortable and next to an odorous toilet."
Plussat: "Great airline with good airplanes and friendly staff. I was able to board the plane using my iPhone (e-ticket) from Copenhagen to Riga to Moscow."
Plussat: "Brand new aircraft Wider seats as normal Good selection of food"
Miinukset: "We got disembarked from the aircraft for technical reasons, then they towed the same aircraft to the next gate and off we were. Delay almost two hours."
Miinukset: "No fee food or beverages at all. Attendants were very pleasant. Since this is an economy airline there reallly is no complaint. Our flight was full and boarding went smoothly."
Miinukset: "Who charges for coffee, jeez"
Plussat: "They did provide a 6 euro food voucher once it was clear the flight was going to be over 2 hours late. The flight and land crew did their best to keep everyone calm under bad circumstances."
Miinukset: "Flight was just under 3 hours late (long enough to kill most of the day, but just under what is needed to pay compensation). First they said it was problems in Amsterdam, then problems with the plane, then traffic in Amsterdam. It was hard to tell what was true and what was avoiding penalties (it is possible that equipment issues caused them to lose their spot, and get caught in traffic delays). I hate that they charge 2.5 euros for water on the flight. Their carryon rules only allow us to take the smallest of bags (smaller than other airlines) but when I got on the plane, lots of people had medium sized carryons."
Plussat: "It's very inexpensive, especially if you fly with only with a carry-on luggage. On-board service has always been excellent."
Miinukset: "The check-in process is horrible, regardless of the airport you are flying from. It's just the trademark of Air Baltic. I learned my lesson and pay extra to use the priority check in line, as well as boarding. Otherwise you end up staying in a VERY long line. This time I was bumped from the seat that I picked when booking my flight, which was still assigned to me when I checked in online. No explanation or heads-up, I was just handed a paper boarding pass when I checked my bag, and only after I was past security line I realized that I was bumped from row 4 to row 10. I was able to get a seat in row 4 again at the gate, but not the same seat. Also, there was no priority boarding, even though I paid for it. Given this experience I will only fly this airline if I can get away with a carry on, thus avoiding the check in desk altogether."
Plussat: "Flight was on time which was surprising given a late snow storm in Tallinn."
Miinukset: "The flight was fully booked, and the system re-assigned seats for a number of passengers. This created confusion as passengers arrived to their assigned seats to find other passengers in the seats. There also appeared to be a miscommunication between the crew as some crew members said to passengers whose seats were taken they should sit anywhere, whereas other crew members tried to get everyone back in their assigned seats. This was frustrating. Also the overhead bin lockers are very difficult to open"
Plussat: "Moved up to First class section."
Miinukset: "No refreshments"
Plussat: "Fine, left on time, short flight."
Miinukset: "No complaints"
Miinukset: "I tried to check in on my phone and the app did not allow me. The only way was buying lunch in order to move on with the check in process. I decided to get to the counter and the person charged me US$ 35 euros only for checking me in (even though their app had problems to check in). They charged me in total US$ 100 for checking in and checking my luggage. The service was terrible, especially from the person at the counter. In addition to all that, my luggage did not arrive to the final destination and was lost for an entire week. Every time I called the airline, they were charging me per minute even though they were the ones who lost my suitcase."
Plussat: "On time"
Miinukset: "Mediocre crew Pricing policy makes you feel like a fool. Ex : if you book not directly from their website, you won't receive a email asking to check online and will end up paying a 30e fee at the counter."
Plussat: "Efficient"
Miinukset: "A free cup of tea or coffee would have been nice on a flight almost 2 hours long"
Miinukset: "After barely making too tight a connection, all food and beverage needed Euros or European credit card. My Visa wouldn't work. Finally after I broke down (blood sugar way too high) the stewardess gave me a glass of water. Never will I use the money grubbing airline again"
Plussat: "Smooth flight"
Miinukset: "Boarding tool a lot of time. We departed late"
