In flight, the seat felt liked you're sitting on a rock after a couple of hours. I'm an aircraft mechanic who used to be a flyer with 7,000 flying hours."

I would be more concerned if my flight had a close connection if this is a standard practice. This was my first flight with Qatar. If the practice is standard I won't keep flying them."

The flight attendants were really nice. The seats were comfortable, food was more than decent, and there was a good entertainment system."
Miinukset: "Earlier in the year I flew a similar flight for a similar price on Emirates. Emirates I liked more for one reason in particular. Emirates had one attendant whose job was solely to clean the bathroom. I don't know about you, but I love the idea of a constantly cleaned bathroom on such a long flight. Qatar didn't have this."

Monitors with flight departures are very hard to read. There are not enough monitors so the flights listing alternate, and you have to wait a long time for your flight to appear. 3. Font size in the monitors is too small. 4. The flight departures in the monitors should be sorted out by destination name and not by time. People always know where they are going but not necessarily the exact departure time. 5. Silent screens displaying news in the waiting areas are useless. They should have the captions on at least."

Miinukset: "Every staff person we had contact with made us feel as though we were not a priority in any way. We were constantly given misinformation. Our flight was two hours out when it was returned to our departure city due to a passenger health issue. It was not properly explained to us and we were in no way compensated for the inconvenience. Once back at our departure city (Miami) we sat there for an hour or more. They chose to feed us during that delay. Due to this we missed our connecting flight in Istanbul to Rome. This also caused us to miss our transportation from Rome to Compania, Italy. We were told by airline staff on the plane that we would be put up in a hotel over night. When we arrived at the terminal we had no idea where we should go or who we should see. Every representative we spoke to told us to go somewhere else. Truth is it felt like no one we spoke to knew what to tell us or really cared at all. One representative told us we were not entitled to overnight accommodations. We insisted we were told we were and it literally took hours on the ground to straighten the problem out and get to a hotel. By then it was so late that we only got a couple hours of sleep and had to be back at the airport for our next flight. The second flight from Istanbul to Naples, Italy was better. I do not think I would use this airline again. My entire party got an overall sense that people were untrained and lacking in any form of customer service. Not the flight attendants but all the people we had to deal with on the ground. My age plus health issues and walking problems made everything more difficult. We were sent al over the massive airlines terminal with all our carry on luggage only to find when we got to where we were going we had been sent to the wrong place. On top of all this each of us had to pay a VISA fee to get out of the terminal and to the hotel. Just a total nightmare. Prior to taking this flight I contacted Turkish Airlines and spoke to a customer service person and explained that I needed to take with me a small portable oxygen concentrator that I would need to use while in Italy. I needed to know the procedure for bringing that equipment on the airline. I was told that although he could not answer that question He would pass it on to his supervisors and I would receive an answer via email prior to my flight. I never received a response and as a result did not have my needed oxygen while abroad."

I merely asked them to call Turkish Airlines, and they said they didn’t have the number. I begged both of them to call someone to help me, and they just laughed and said it wasn’t part of their job. I was horrified! I almost missed my plane.!"

We made up the time en route but then sat on the tarmac at LAX because the gate was occupied. I think my seat mates missed their connection. They broke the handle on my rollaboard (checked due to stingy cabin baggage allowance)."

Meal service tableware was clean and pleasant to use. Food was also great. Also a very wide selection of entertainment options! Also, good flying from the pilot’s crew. Flight was on time."
Miinukset: "The servicing crew in the business cabin was inexperienced and unrefined. The flight attendants seemed to just want to “get it over with” with questions like “are you done?” The attendants wanted to take our drink order as soon as we got in without giving us a chance to settle into our seats and kept hovering over us until I had to ask her to give us a couple of minutes. The airline did not stock enough snack and ran out mid flight. We had to wait for the next meal service which was not fun. I ended up getting a sweet drink just to get by. Internet, which was paid, was so slow that I got tired of watching it trying to load the pages and gave up. Eventually, the connection completely stalled even though I still had over an hour remaining of the 4 hour package. I used maybe an hour of the total purchase. Total waste because I couldn’t get any work done. Overall, I did not think this was an experience worth a business class ticket."

Meals were totally acceptable for an international flight, and the complimentary booze was immensely appreciated."
Miinukset: "My biggest gripe, however, was with the malfunctioning entertainment system directly in front of my wife's seat. The screen intermittently flickered on and off, and would go black for long streches of time. Kudos to the attentive crew for trying their best to fix the device during the flight, but their efforts did not solve the problem. It was disappointing not to have a working entertainment system for such a long international flight--it would have made the experience much more comfortable and enjoyable."

Miinukset: "Lufthanza is still "rule bound" and somewhat inflexible. Staff had some trouble adjusting to individual request (e.g. one passenger changed her mind on the meal choice and confused the staff member who tried to force the food choice on this older lady). Obviously, dealing with elderly is not the same as dealing with young - this may require some additional training of staff members.On another occasion, two passengers exchanged seats - and it took some time for staff to sort this out at the meal time. A "Muslim meal" was offered to a christian passenger. - The interchange was hilarious."

Plussat: "On both of my flights to New York City, I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the flight attendants were to the passengers. On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

Miinukset: "The only complaint I have regarding my most recent flight was the incredibly rude service staff whom we experienced at the front counter at check-in. After a harrowing cab ride to the airport in which our driver continuously ignored my request to follow the GPS insisting that he knew faster shortcuts, we arrived 40 minutes later than intended. Additionally he dropped us off at the wrong terminal such that we finally arrived at the KLM gate an hour later than we had planned. This was especially frustrating as we are traveling with two small children and made every effort to be punctual and leave early to be sure we got there with time to spare. Not the case today. All of that I could deal with, but when we arrived at the KLM counter, and I apologized to the attendant staff member that we were late and explained that our cab driver got lost, she responded by chastising us first in Spanish and then in broken English. She made sure to make it clear to us that it was our fault and we should not blame the Argentinian cabdriver. The cabdriver was not actually Argentinian, but that is totally besides the point. I was totally taken aback to be treated so rudely as a greeting at the airline counter. My wife share the same sentiment. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. Thank God, every single airport personnel and of course KLM staff member on board was incredibly kind and accommodating of our children subsequent to this. It saved what otherwise could've been a terrible experience."

I had to get taxi and boat and coming in Tallinn. I lost time and money. I never going to use finnair and kayak again."

Then they had not even coffee before actually landing. The vegetarian breakfast that was served in the evening had one dry pita bread with two slices of cucumbers and tomatoes, very lousy. Finnair has had that for years. If you order lacto-ovo meal, you get a vegan breakfast, a very low quality one. Why? I paid about $1500 for the flight and would like some service, too."
