If i wanted to buy something its in their mag and as a regional flight it should include some form of nourishment other than juice or coffee one off, tight fisted and not a descent selection of food either"
Miinukset: "The passenger sitting next to me smelled REALLY bad. Like he hadn't washed himself in weeks. Other passengers around me got a whiff too and also reacted the same. I asked the main crew member from my aisle for a seat change but he came back 10 mins later saying there was nothing else available. Later when I was walking around to stretch my legs, I saw there were AT LEAST 10 seats open in the next cabin. Why lie? The entertainment system touch-screen was not working properly and the headphones kept falling out of my ear."

Miinukset: "The food was filling, but not particularly tasty. For those seated toward the back, there was no choice. Although maybe there was no choice to begin with. Normally, on international flights, for the first (bigger) meal at least, you are given two choices, such as meat or vegetarian, beef or chicken. The food itself wasn't great. The salad was below average on both flight, from and to Chicago. So was the desert. Drinks are offered once with each meal in very small glasses. Although there is a bottle of water from the start."

Miinukset: "The flight from Helsinki arrived 2 hours late to JFK due to mechanical reasons causing some passengers miss their connectiing flights, which is quite normal in airline practice. What was not normal and supper aggravating was the fact that nobody met us at the gate to help us rebook our missed flights. We had to find an AA agent in the departure area and stand in line with other passengers who were checking in to their flight to Jordan. There was no customer service what so ever provided by Finnair."

Another thing - I was sitting in the raw 50, and at the 49th raw crew ran out of chicken with only pasta left. ))) This happens, I get it. I've had it actually happened to me before on British Airways flights too couple of times. So it's not too big of a deal. I just wish that pasta tasted better)))"

It took at least 30 minutes to get off the plane and then getting through customs was a nightmare. Arrival board at O'Hare said plane was on time, but listed gate as 0, which of course doesn't exist so our ride home had no idea what was going on or what was taking so long and ended up waiting over three hours for us to get through everything to meet them."

It seemed about average for comfort; overhead bins held my backpack easily, while I find many older planes do not. Coffee or soda was free, everything else was for sale. Attendants on this flight were very busy and very friendly. Check-in was run very efficiently. My check-through luggage arrived intact. Overall a good experience on a two-hour journey. Plane arrived about 10 minutes ahead of schedule, which is always a plus."

Plussat: "Brand new A350 business class was excellent - far better than tired old BA planes. Great IFE and food and beverage service. Excellent cabin crew aervice. Overall, thoroughly good from start to finish (Finnish?)."

It also took a very long time to get a hotel assignment because I was stuck in Chicago overnight. The finnair air agents at ohare were not very understanding or helpful. I was sent from their line to American Airlines and then back again. They were slow. We waited in the line for a long time for someone to come and help us. overall they were not very apologetic regarding the fact that I was stuck there overnight. It took soooo long to get to the hotel. I arrived there well after midnight. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED SO CLOSE TOGETHER. NO LAYOVER TIME IN BETWEEN MEANS MISSED CONNECTIONS! THIS HAPPENED BOTH WAYS ON MY TRIP. VERY ANNOYING"

Miinukset: "Experience was totally let down by the airport; nothing to blame the aircraft staff though. Avoid Helsinki airport like the plague for stopovers: bad signage, woeful information how to get to the city efficiently in English. HORRIBLE experience when trying to get lost property: you got to PAY for your initial email or pay top dollar just for a stupid and aggravating phone call!!! The number of exclamation marks is not exaggerated here. You can't even ask if they even have the item in their possession. Rarely had such a bad experience at an airport, and I travel a lot for work. This alone makes me think thrice about EVER getting Finnair again. Same company that manages the airport, so I'm giving this flight a bad review."

I was pressured in Helsinki into letting Swissair, the contracted boarding agent it seems, fill that seat, 1/2 of which is what you get for paying 'business' in a plane that has all economy seating. There was no logic or ability to board before economy and indeed my boarding pass stated economy. The woman that was added to the oversold seat got intoxicated and was half in my seat. I will never fly this again and it's not worth the stress to fight for some refund but I was taken advantage of with charging me a 300+ euro seat for this joke of a flight in a "better" level of service."

I did have to pay the luggage fee, I don't understand why you have to lift your luggage through the size measuring device when clearly my luggage would have fit in the overhead compartments. Aside from that, I thought the lighting (yellow lighting!) and the advertisements all over the interior was tacky and distracting from having a calm, relaxing flight. I don't think the $$ saved is worth going through this again."

Miinukset: "Early Sunday fligh... took 30 mins to queue from motorway to Stansted terminal. If were checking in bag there was a big queue too (I didn't need to). The slowest part was airport security, allow extra 20 minutes at least to get through. Did priority boarding so we didn't queue to board and sat together and had room for our bags (some ended up at feet or in hold)"
Miinukset: "I paid extra for priority boarding and, though I was one of the first 20 passengers on board, I was not allowed to put my bag in the overheard compartment. I was told to put both my purse (not a tiny one, mind you) and my carry on bag under the seat. And, because I had an isle seat, the space was smaller than average. So I had to fly cramped up. Because I'm not an EU citizen, I had to queue up as if to check in luggage to have a stamp placed on my boarding pass. Then another queue to board the plane because they don't bother to call by row or group number like most airlines. The boarding was chaotic. The seats are very uncomfortable. They don't even give you one small cup of water. You have to pay 3 euros for a bottle of water that would cost you 1 elsewhere. Finally, the landing was very hard and shook everyone about."

Plussat: "I liked that my priority seat meant early and quick boarding. The crew was friendly and competent. The plane was clean. I had no checked luggage so traveling was not stressful. Overhead bins seemed roomy enough."
Miinukset: "Nothing is free - not even a coffee on the early morning flight. Might be that I've been spoiled with American airlines. Not crazy about having to check in and purchase seat online. It seems the seat selection - from basic economy - should be included in the ticket price. Again, maybe spoiled by American airline companies."
Plussat: "They did get me there is one piece..."
Miinukset: "By the time you get what you need, it's cheaper to just book a "real" flight, where you don't get extra bills for every item, such as having to pay over 50+ Euros for luggage and carry-on, not to mention 15 Euros for a boarding card. I understand it makes it cheaper to print it ourselves, but I don't have access to a printer while on vacations. 5 Euros might be understandable, but 15 is abuse. Plain and Simple. My first and last RyanAir experience."
Plussat: "I sat in the front row and had plenty of leg room. A crew member kindly switched my middle seat for his window seat for which I was very grateful."
Miinukset: "Ryanair did not offer any food or beverage for "free" (i.e., included in the price of our ticket). It was a huge hassle to get our boarding passes printed. We needed to do this in order to be spared a €50/person penalty which I think is outrageous. Boarding was a little intense."
Plussat: "Absolutely nothing"
Miinukset: "Every moment of us flying with Ryanair was a disaster as well as the part of us missing the flight even though we were at the airport. When you get to the airport you can't even change anything , all they let you do is check your bag in for a pre determined kg purchase. Who has a scale with them when right before they fly ? How are we supposed to know how many kilos our bags are after one or two weeks on a euro trip? If you want to pay at the airport , you have to pay ten euro or more per kilo and only up to 20 kilo (which is less than the standard 50 pounds ). This is in addition to your "low fare" ticket and FORTY EURO luggage price. Also, you can't even purchase at the place of leaving your bags, you have to walk to the office in the airport and pay. Also, they close the gates extremely early and don't tell you that you have thirty seconds to make your flight or you miss it altogether. The worst part is that you MUST check in online previously to coming to the airport and print out a boarding pass , all things that are impossible to do when you're traveling constantly and have no access to Internet or printer. If you didn't come prepared to the airport they can't even print it for you. It's awful. They are the devil. The workers are awful. They don't care about you and don't help you at all."
Miinukset: "Last time we flew Ryanair, we did not check-in ahead of time, so we had to pay 53 Euros at the airport. We learned our lesson, so for this flight we checked in ahead of time and had our boarding passes ready on our mobile devices. When we arrived at the airport, we were told we needed a printed ticked so they could stamp it that they had checked our passport. It would be 53 Euros for them to print the ticket. The lady at the ticket counter directed us to the business center to print, but the Ryanair website wasn't working. I eventually printed a poor quality screenshot and hoped for the best. The lady stamped when she checked my passport. Nobody ever checked the stamped ticket beyond that point. What a waste. Ryanair is cheap, of course I'll fly with them again the next time I'm in Europe. My advice to travelers is to do your research and know all the loop holes they use to make money off of you."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed for more than 4 hours"
Plussat: "It was a quick flight."
Miinukset: "When I bought the ticket, i was not clearly informed that we HAD to check in online before arriving to the airport. This was a huge issue. I held off checking in because I wasn't sure if my bag would fit in the overhead bins as I didn't have a tape measure. So I figured, like with every other airline, my wife and I would check in at the desk and pay for the extra checked bag if necessary. Well we ended up having to pay €50 EACH to the airport administrator to get a boarding pass. I went through all the documents I received from the airline, and nothing states that we had to check-in before we arrived. They said they sent me a text message to my hotel, which was the contact number I had put when we bought the ticket. That didn't do anything to help. We will be fighting this with the airlines, discussing our bad experience, and never flying with them again."
Plussat: "Flight was excellent!"
Miinukset: "Too much flight crew communication during night time: Rayan air time for souvenirs shops, coffee breaks... At night a little less break ins will be fine. I know it´s a company policy but if you don't do check in first, I think 45€ its a little bit expensive. :)"
Plussat: "The tickets are very cheap. That's the only good thing I can say about them. You have to check in online prior to boarding. While this may seem easy enough, their system is easily bogged down. Interesting that the portion of their system for purchasing baggage check in works like a charm. But over half an hour later the loading for the final boarding passes took forever and never finished. Shouldn't be a problem but this airline counts on it. After a long wait with a long line and 2 attendants we finally get to the front where the woman exhorts more money in a penalty from us than the entire round trip tickets cost. Additionally this means standing in another long line full of people also being extorted while we run the risk of missing our flight, though we arrived 3 hours before. Didn't have the heart to stand the line up arguing how it was wrong as that would definitely have made someone behind us miss their flight. They very nonchalantly inform you that if you don't pay you don't board though the problem is theirs."
Miinukset: "They say that one carry on free but they should allow standard size which other airlines allows. So we have to buy new carry on for ryan air!! then don't call it free. It is really hassle travelling in Ryan air for inside flights when you have already came from US to Europe. you need to keep your luggage in storage or pay heft money at Ryan air... They don't even give free water! I agree The money you save on a Ryanair flight is not worth the absolute hassle they put you through, especially considering that you're liable to pay the difference in fees anyway."
Miinukset: "We purchased a luggage allowance of 15 kilos. As it turned out the exact same bag with the exact same contents fell within this limit coming from Madrid to Arrecife but not from Arrecife to Madrid. The person that checked our bag had absolutely no flexibility. We had to pay a fee for the 1 kilo overage. Later we purchased coffee before getting on the flight only to be informed we could not have hot beverages while boarding, something that has NEVER happened to me. The money you save on a Ryanair flight is not worth the absolute hassle they put you through, especially considering that you're liable to pay the difference in fees anyway."
Plussat: "Seats don't"
Plussat: "Because Ryan air is a budget airline they have extremely strict restrictions regarding your boarding pass. One in the 21st century might think, ill download my pass online, or to my phone, or even a kiosk in the airport. Be aware few of these are actually feasible options for americans traveling within the EU and may cause you to miss your flight."
Plussat: "Amazing price! 50.00 USD round trip from Madrid to Mallorca"
Miinukset: "boarding policy...... Small cramped seats"
Miinukset: "Ryanair required a 45 euro penalty fee claiming I had not checked in adequately. I had attempted to on my phone after receiving an email on vacation but the online app did not take me through everything needed. It was not clear when I booked via Kayak that additional information was required prior to boarding the plane. My husband is taking another flight within Spain with Iberia and I called them upon my return to avoid a similar charge. They claimed they do not charge that type of penalty and everything can be handled at the airport. I was told by Rayanair that I had to take care of it at least two hours before flight time and I had to pay the penalty.."
Plussat: "Not a single thing!"

Plussat: "I arrived at my destination albeit somewhat late."
Miinukset: "Firstly, during check in Ryanair said that I had to have a printed out version of my boarding pass and therefore they would have to charge me 15 Euro to print it out. Isn't this a budget airline? How do people on tight budgets afford this sort of last moment expense? Secondly, there was nothing service-minded about one of the cabin-crew who barked at me for not immediately showing her my boarding pass while boarding the plane (pure impertinence). Thirdly, the seats don't recline so the knees of tall people are hard against the front seats which puts them in an uncomfortable rigid upright position during the flight. Lastly, the flight was late."
Plussat: "As long as you are aware of a few things, flying on Ryan Air was great. You must check in a certain number of hours before your flight to aviod an additional check-in fee. I checked-in from the hotel computer the day before my flight. You should pre-pay for checked baggage and seat selection with priority boarding when you book the flight if you want those 2 items when flying on Ryan Air. If you dont want to pay for a checked bag, ensure you check the airline website to make sure your carry on bag meets the size requirements for carry on baggage. My flight was on time, they offered a selection of food and drinks for purchase during the flight. The staff was friendly. Everything was great."
