I asked to transfer to the next flight, but the staff there argued with me and refused to do so, saying I must purchase another ticket. I was forced to purchase a visa, go through passport processing, and purchase a new ticket that cost nearly as much as my entire round trip ticket from the US. I then had to pay to stay overnight in a hotel and had to make alternate arrangements to meet my hosts when I finally reached my destination."

Plussat: "I liked the entertainment- plenty of things to watch and listen to. Food was good. I also enjoyed the service, hot towels and friendliness of staff. Overall, it was a great experience!"
Miinukset: "Sitting next to many kids who were very noisy and messy. They completely trashed the bathrooms which did not make it fun for me to use after them. This is just what I did not like- I understand this is no fault of the airlines or their staff. I am just more aware that several Turkish families may fly back and forth with their children and as a passenger, you may be seated close to them on the plane- just a thought."
Plussat: "It seems like the company and crew go above and beyond for its passengers. Even those in cabin. We still get treated like first class. That's awesome."
Miinukset: "The additional security check for flight from Istanbul to US was somewhat unpleasant as women were called out from the line to be separated from men for security check. They should have wait for each family to come up for their turn to be checked, so families would not need to be separated for a while."
Plussat: "I always fly Turkish Air when I can. I like it a lot"
Miinukset: "This flight was a standard deviation below the usual quality. The crew seemed inexperienced, and the service was slow. The business-class cabin was only about 40% occupied, and yet the crew seemed unable to provide quick service. As I say, this is not normally the case, but it was a little disappointing."

Miinukset: "Bringing a hot wash cloth around just before landing after flying all night would be refreshing. I think it would give people the next best thing to a hot shower. I should have picked an isle seat. I was on a 10 plus hour flight and felt trapped and my isle guy had his headphones in or slept all but one small break in that 11 hours. I felt abit claustrophobic."

Miinukset: "This flight was delayed by two hours and there was no representative from Turkish airlines there to answer questions. Again for someone 6'2", this plane had seats a little smaller than usual. On the way out, my knees never hit the seat ahead of me, this time they were constantly up against the back of other seat. Also this flights entertainment controls were terrible, constantly went back to home page while trying to select movie."

We went through more than four security checks and we were only transferring planes in Istanbul. Terminal was short on places to sit and had excessive duty free shopping. Walks in terminal went on for miles. With the flight gate only posted 35 minutes ahead of departure, this was a problem."

Miinukset: "The crew decided it was a good idea to store their bags in the overhead bins in the back of the plane, leaving no room for the paying customers. Most people in the back of the airplane were forced to stuff their bags under their seats which already did not have enough space. On top of that the airport had boarding groups which were completely ignored and the entire boarding process turned into a cluster. The flight from America to Turkey was great but once you are in Europe the service is horrible. If I cannot get a direct flight, I will not use this airline again."

They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."

One bag eventually arrived - took 3 hours second bag did not arrive and apparently did not get transferred in Frankfurt Told they would deliver bag - next day and would text and call - called at 4am !!! I just had come off 20hrs of travel. Phone on mute. No e mail. Now they say will deliver this evening - but no time slot so another wasted vacation day waiting for them to get their act together. Why can't they call/text me with a 30 minute window."

Who ever heard of a transatlantic flight that didn't have a movie? Make sure you download the app so you can at least watch the movies on your tiny screen."

I had to take an another flight and arrived at JFK after 6 hours from the original flight. My trip was totally messed up, so I was not happy at all."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed an hour after boarding to wait for passengers from another flight. I understand waiting 10-15 mins but one hour was way too long."
Plussat: "When you travel with an infant it's already a difficult trip but it's really fraustrating when you find out that they didn't assign you to the seats with the baby bassanet, and when I went to the counter to fix the problem instead they change our window seats to an isle seats without even asking or notifying us with the changes, and they when I asked how come you don't automatically assign infant reservations to infant seats their excuse was what if there were more infants than available infant seats and they already gave out those seats with extended leg space to others who already had paid for it, and surprisingly there were multiple of infants on board none of them in those seats but rather the other passengers who paid for it, so basically they got paid extra and you will only suffer for almost 10 hrs so they can make extra profit. NEVER AGAIN AUSTRIAN AIRLINES!!!"

Miinukset: "The flight attendants did a satisfactory job of distributing meals and snacks only if you were awake during their service round. I was resting on one occasion and missed the snack. I was total ignored when I asked for a serving. The boarding process was disorganized and the flight was delayed about an hour. Seat way too small for transatlantic. I weight 62kg and was sitting in a middle seat. Next time I'll have to get an upgrade."

It would be helpful to have a warning about that and the fact that if you do not prepay online you are charged double. I also was not aware of the type of a ticket I booked, e.g. Economy light and what it meant for luggage fees."

The agent had to talk to someone in order to even issue the boarding pass and even though the bags were checked in all the way to Pittsburgh boarding passes were not issued. I cannot blame the agent because Luftansa had issued the ticket for this Austrian Airline flight."
Plussat: "The meal and drink service was quite good. The stewards/stewardesses were very attentive and kind."
Miinukset: "There is not enough leg room. There is even less room if the person in front of one's seat has the seat reclined. The seats barely recline at all, so sleep is impossible. Sleep would be possible if there were enough room to rest one's head on the tray in front of the seat. This is impossible if the person in front of one's seat has reclined his or her seat. Thus, sleep is totally impossible on this aircraft. The sinks in the bathrooms also need to be deeper and need to drain more quickly."
Plussat: "I was offered to change my flight for 400 Euros, and did so. Had the offer been for less money, I would not have. I was told that the chance of my losing the new seat was minimal, as the computer was very overbooked and rarely wrong. I was then told at the gate that I had to wait there, and did so, despite having already checked into a lounge (for a fee), because I needed to print a bank bill (my reason for going to Moscow from Vienna, not directly home from Vienna to New York, is to pay a fee into an account at the bank). So I waited, and in the meantime contacted my friend in Moscow to tell him I'd be arriving 10 hours later than planned. Then at the very last minute that 2 people who had booked for the flight had not appeared, and that I had to board it. Hugely frustrating on account of the endless assurances made."

Miinukset: "United did not honour the seat assignment that Airfare.com gave me so I sat in a middle seat. But the entire seating plan on United is so bad it should be a violation of the anti torture convention."

Plussat: "Typically, flying coach is a pretty unpleasant experience. You feel like the airline has shrunk the seats to as small as possible, food is scarce and bad, entertainment choices are limited, and you have to pay for headphones. My recent experience with Austrian Air was just the opposite. Seats were comfortable, leg room was good, entertainment options were plentiful and free, the food was actually surprisingly good for airplane food, and the flight attendants were extremely nice and responsive. As an added bonus - red and white wine were free on the flight and both were actually quite delicious! Finally, our flight was smooth and on time. I wil go out of my way to book my next international flight on Austrian Air - it was a clearly superior experience than flying coach on nearly any other airline."

It is not nice to wait extra 4 hours in an airport after a transoceanic flight with a 5 month old baby. I did not know that company but now I do for their poor management"

Plussat: "The flight AMS to MEX was smooth, very helpful personnel on board, we enjoyed a bit more space and the seat seemed a bit more comfortable."
Miinukset: "Besides the seat relative comfort, it did not recline much at all, i wondered what the extra money (at least $5 or $600) got us. The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

The flight attendants were rushing and will take a while if you needed anything. I felt like I was taking a bus with graffiti all over the place."
Plussat: "We were fed a nice pasta meal and offered drinks twice. They also gave a muffin for desert. The flight attendants were very nice and attentive with cheerful smiles. I wish every airline had service this good!"

They didn't collect garbage before landing. Not only did we have to take our bags off the plane, we had to carry our garbage (drink cups/food served) to the front of the plane to throw out."

Whether it's her personal opinion or KLM's policy, it's unreasonable to think that a 3 years old child could or should hold her pipi over 20 minutes, while they slowly and inefficiently trying to give out food. Several parents were there with the request to let us through to the toilet with small children and she smiled in our face and said "no, we will finish first and than you can go". She might be not fit for the job anymore, but KLM can't afford this kind of treatment."

By the end of the trip when we were approaching Ams, a hostess came and she gave us a $25 dollar discountvoucher to be used in our next trip, this is totally not acceptable!"

Miinukset: "The boarding process. It is a crowded space at the gate, and the boarding ends up with long lines getting confused and in the way."

Miinukset: "The Amsterdam airport is super disorganized, with rude employees great at making excuses for their incompetence. The boarding crew really struggled to organized the boarding and wouldn't really care about people's status. We had to take a bus to the airplane, and even though both plane's entrances were open, they sent everybody to the front entrance. The comfort of the plane was horrendous, with seats over 20 years old and their business class was the same as the coach, but with no one sitting in the middle (can you get any lower than this?) The flight attendant woke me up to shove a food tray that I didn't want. We had to wait over 45 minutes after the plane landing to start seeing some luggage show up on the conveyor bell. The overall flight experience make southwest look like a luxury airline. This was my first and last time flying on KLM."

Miinukset: "I was coming back from Cologne to Rome, 40 mins of delay on first flight Cologne - Amsterdam made us lose the second flight. Actually, they could have waited for us for say 10 mins and we would have made it. But they didn't and we had to stay a night in Amsterdam, arriving in Rome the next morning."
Miinukset: "If you want to have a different meal than what they offer, you have to contact customer service before hand. I never been on a flight so far, where there wasn’t a vegetarian option. So I was pretty surprised when they just offered beef fajitas. I asked for a vegetarian option only to find out there isn’t none. The flight attendant wasn’t super nice about it either, she just said you have to order it online. But at no point I got an email saying, if you want something different than what we offer, tell us! So that was pretty annoying..."
Plussat: "Everything about the flight was wonderful except baggage claim, in BOTH directions."
Miinukset: "It could have been the perfect trip, but I am not sure why SAS baggage handling is so mediocre. In both the flights from EWR to OSLO and back, every aspect of the trip was super, except for the wait for baggage. In Oslo, I estimate having waited at least a half an hour at the carousel before the bags started showing up, and the same in Newark. We had long cleared Immigration, which normally is not a speedy process, and yet still had to wait at least 20 minutes for the FIRST bag to appear on the carousel. Most annoying, particularly after a relatively long flight, and especially for transfer passengers who needed to recheck their bags to continue to other destinations."
Miinukset: "How possible with any criteria could charge 33€ for 1.5 such exagerate no good company at all .."
Plussat: "No comment since very short flight."
Miinukset: "My husband was unable to check in on line. SAS when contacted by phone which was difficult to do because it is hard to locate their number had no explanation other than maybe due to security. We missed a tour due to the time spent (unsuccessfully) trying to solve this problem."
Miinukset: "I ordered vegetarian from their transfer office at the Copenhagen airport. Days before the return flight yet to chicago they had no record of my vegetarian meal The same transfer desk told me there were no morning flights to amsterdam the next day so they booked me 930pm next day, I found hour later a flight on Dad leaving 6am next morning, had to buy own toclet"
Plussat: "Everything about the flight was fine. Boarding, flying and retrieving luggage were all standard and went smoothly."
Miinukset: "I was upset that neither Kayak nor SAS provided any information about our ticket being a basic, basic ticket, by which I mean, did not include any checked luggage allowance in the price of the flight. I ended up paying 140 additional Euros for two bags. It appears that SAS's pricing is gaming the system when searching for flights or that Kayak is not being up-front about the type of fare they are advertising."

Miinukset: "Super hot throughout flight. Had a 9 hour layover and the flight arrived after the gates closed so the only options for 12am-5am were wooden benches in random sketchy areas. Had to wait in line to wait to get in line to finally board the plane The food was two rolls ups three hours apart"
Miinukset: "gate change at the last minute across whole airport, and I am in a wheelchair so it was very challenging. people at airport not accommodating, kind or friendly"
Plussat: "I loved that there were a lot of different movies, TV shows, games, music, and more to choose from- all for free! Then there was a dinner- not bad at all-, a snack later on, and breakfast too, all included. Headphones if you needed them ( lifesaver there as I had temporary misplaced mine), a blanket, and a pillow. The crew was really polite, and there was never more than one person in line for the bathroom."

Miinukset: "I understand flights can get cancelled due to technical problems but I do expect good information and expedient rerouting. SAS fell short on both accounts here. The transfer center staff was the worst: at some point one of them was literally screaming and yelling at a whole group of stranded passengers. Extremely unprofessional and far from helpful. We had to call SAS in the US ourselves to get rerouted - and that was 6 hours after the flight was cancelled."
