Great flight

Only the flying part was okay. They have not served food to two of us in the Doha to Hyderabad flight They told that they are not aware of our food requirements We had to travel without food

Plussat: "On March 4, my wife and I made a flight from New York to Sydney with a transfer in Doha, Qatar. We flew the Qatar airline business class. Everything was great despite a very large flight. New plane, very clean. Wide comfortable seats turning into a large comfortable bed. Great menu and good wine list. All staff are professionally trained and very friendly. All this made this flight very comfortable and we were not tired."

Plussat: "I liked that the flight was not full and I was able to use the entire row of seats and lie down as straight as possible to get some sleep. The crew was very friendly and allowed us to sleep most of the flight --- I guess they figured that most of the travelers prefer to just sleep and not be disturbed during a 15-hour flight. There was a good selection of movies and shows to watch to pass the time. I liked that there was time to go on the city tour of Doha and that there is a counter at the airport for the city tour."
Miinukset: "My flight started in Kathmandu and the layover for the connecting flight from Doha to LAX was 12 hours. I hope Qatar can come up with a schedule that will reduce the layover down to less hours while still giving passengers time to go on the city tour, if they want to."

Miinukset: "We were supposed to take the flight 8 hours earlier. I’m not sure flight with such short connections should be sold at all - with the previous flight being late 20 minutes, we were met at arrival gate by Qatar airlines employee that told us our connecting flight left without us. They helped us with everything onward- getting new boarding passses, hotel and meal vouchers, but all of this should not have been needed if such short connections were not sold."

Miinukset: "When flying from New Zealand to Doha, we departed Auckland at 15h25 and due to the time zone, most passengers body clocks would have been expecting sleep within a few hours. However we were flying West and thus into daylight. Sadly the window seated passengers were not asked to close their window blinds to block out the sunlight and many were left open. This made the cabin very bright and a difficult environment in which to sleep. Too much advertising before the on board videos, but otherwise content was good."

Plussat: "B777 Dreamliner is dreamy. Lots of overhead luggage space. Decent leg room (could always be more). Great individual entertainment screen for long transcontinental flights. Flight staff was a mixed international crew, very friendly, unpretentious, polite and just nice compared to other airlines. The planes they use seem very new. Would definitely recommend Qatar Air over Aeroflot any day."
Miinukset: "Food was decent for airline food but nothing to rave about and as with most airlines uses too much plastic packaging. Although I was pleased that some of the flights used metal flatware, but still too much waste in the industry in my opinion. Also, the headphone jack was not compatible with my headphones. The type used on the 777 is the dual pronged one. I did not have an adapter so had to use the crappy headphones that are provided."

Plussat: "From Joburg to Doha, the plane was clean and the food was good. . From Doha to Washington, not so much. I went to 3 bathrooms and all the sinks were stopped up."
Miinukset: "The food from Doha to Washington was beyond awful!!! I wud scrap that whole menu PLEASE. I WAS SEVERELY DISAPPINTED. The previous Quatar flight, the food was different and very good. Please check on this. Also, the sinks were stopped up. Gross."

I didn't pay a few hundred dollars extra for this."

Miinukset: "As I missed this connection flight we were re routed to Cairo then Larnaca. We landed at 6:30pm and didn't get to our hotel until 8:30. Missed my friends wedding. It was a disaster. As a Qatar airway member I feel let down and am disappointed with the lack of interest shown by the airline in relation to an apology of any kind. What can be done about it. I've booked a trip to be a part of my friends special day and instead get to the reception as guest start leaving. I also get fined from the car hire company as they cancelled our hired car due to a no show and have ended up with a less inferior car as that's all they had left. No real apology given si is like to know what are you doing about it?"

Everything was satisfactory, but the plane is in the older side and the food and entertainment options were mediocre

Delayed baggages

Miinukset: "Ethipian Airlines overbooked my return flight and did not offer me an alternate return flight so I could return on my designated date. They instructed me to come back the following date to fly. I was not compensated nor offered at the very least an apology. The ticketing staff was unprofessional and attempted to blame me for not flying. Do not fly Ethiopian Airlines out of Accra ever!!!"

Plussat: "The airline was quick to give vouchers for food and hotel when flight was delayed by 5 hours. They were also efficient in rebooking missed connecting flight."
Miinukset: "On top of a five hour delay that got me to my arrival point 14 hours behind schedule, my two checked bags were also lost and have not been found up to two days later. The food was like being on a Delta flight, and the entertainment screens in my entire row would not work, nor did many others."

Plussat: "Overall it was good flying experience. They upgraded me to an exit row for free when I checked in and asked, which was nice. We had a blanket, pillow, and toothbrush kit on our seats. They fed us and had in flight entertainment. This was a 10 hour flight, so its so important to get these types of amenities. I flew a different airline to my destination, and they didn't feed us at all! It was terrible! Ethiopian was much better!"
Miinukset: "The food wasn't very good (but most airline food isn't), the flight attendants didn't seem to be working much of the flight, just hanging out with each other (I was seated near them), and I really wish there was more room to get up, move around, and stand. On a 10 hour flight you can't sit the whole time. Wish the seats were a little wider, especially for such long flights."

No follow through to emails 4. Persistent phone calls at last elicited a response that luggage would arrive next morning - but unable to give a time 5. Luggage arrived late afternoon i.e. 2 full days later 6. I will put in a claim for toiletries, underwear, socks + taxi to get to shops"

Miinukset: "Addis airport is always a mess. Security check takes 30 mins+, gates are changed without announcements and there are no display mentioning flight or destination at the gate. For the flight, food not great and service slow."

Plussat: "The Ethiopians have got the transit sorted in Addis. I had a tight turnaround time of about an hour and 15 minutes. From alighting to boarding and takeoff was about 1 hour. Very impressed that my luggage made it as well."

The flight was supposed to be 9 hours, but we left late and it was 11+ hours. I understand things happen, but the crew gave no explanation for the delay or elongated flight. Last, but not least, when we landed in Newark we waited 2 hours for our luggage to come out. We landed at 9:50pm and didn't receive our baggage until 11:50pm. My friend and I were not even the last to get our bags. Overall this was the worst flight experience I've ever had."

Food on my return flight was terrible I am a vegetarian was mostly served warmed up frozen vegetable which were terrible 3. Return trip set next to noisy people, had coffee spilled on my dress, was upset and did not enjoy return trip .Grateful for flight attendants who moved me to another seat."

Plussat: "It’s acctually the second time , just last week 23rd , our flight with delta got delayed that made us missed our connecting flight and I had to pass through Nairobi, female crew serving snacks came over to me with snacks and told me I ordered low fat food which I did and I asked her if it was ok if I had chicken that day she insisted that had ordered low fat mean and that’s what she has to serve me and I had to tell her again I needed chicken, she started arguing with me over snacks she got offended and she just threw food in my hand almost dropped to the floor , I think that was not professional at all. And today again coming to Nairobi the female crew came over serving snacks again and requested if I could have some wet wipes my hands were dirty dirty because had seen a crew handing out with to the people in the front raw but she answered me it was in the bank and she kept on and I again asked the male crew and he explained to me that they mostly don’t give wet wipes for short flights but I had wet wipes when I flew to Nairobi from Amsterdam and I had too when I left Nairobi to Uganda , what’s the point of serving foods when passengers gotta eat with dirty hands , and today again-the same female crew skipped the first raw of two males with snacks who were seated in front of us and even if they told her they missed the snacks, she stood there and called the male crew just unprofessionally to bring the snacks for the gentleman and she just never cared . I think they should do better thanks ."

Miinukset: "Movies are badly dated, and a bit limited in choice. System was a bit difficult to navigate, and slow to respond."

A normal time for an airline to serve some kind of decent breakfast for the price you pay. Not at KQ. They are not making friends this way. Am not even talking about emails going unanswered for days with very specific questions: how to book extra luggage allowance. Anyway…"

Miinukset: "1. It took almost one week after my arrival to trace my checked-in baggage. Horrible indeed. Moreover, the baggage contained my medications and other valuables which I needed on ongoing basis! Very disappointing! 2. Despite being charged for the full fare as indicated online, Kenya Airways charged my debit card an additional fee of $31.19. I thought the amount that I had paid to KAYAK was final? I will NEVER dare use such a travel agent engine again in future!"
Plussat: "We missed our flight from Nairobi to kigali by 2 min. They wouldn’t hold the plane for us. We have to wait in yheairport for 7 hours. Got nothing. Very dissapointed. Bad customer care."

Miinukset: "My flight was delayed. The gate changed at least four times with no clear announcement."
Plussat: "They wheelchaired my companion to the airport after delayed medical examination to make the flight."
Miinukset: "Kenya changed my flight to two hours later 18 hours before I was to leave. Making me have a 10 minute connection. Then after an hour in a airline office they promised to hold my connection. When my flight landed on time, they did not hold my connection. So they changed my flight and didn’t follow through on the fix. We would now miss wedding activities and business meetings. Then my partner got sick and they refused to taxi us to hotel for the night but take a bus that leaves every three hours. Her sickness got worse and there was a Kenyan airlines doctor who evaluated her at the airport after waiting 40 minutes laying at check in with her crying due to pain. We had a medical release from the doctor saying she needed extra space to lay down but the check in manager refused to make room for her saying the flight is full and she would not upgrade her to accommodate the medical release because we had an economy ticket. My partner looked so bad that the flight crew considered kicking us off but eventually made the space for her to lay down and were helpful on the flight. This is this disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve had with any company."

Miinukset: "35 minute departure delay with not even an attempt at an explanation. Broken seat. Cramped."
Miinukset: "Timing schedule not respected. No legroom my knees were so squeezed."

Miinukset: "Only 3 movies to choose from?!"
Miinukset: "Boarding procedures took too long consequently missed connecting flight. Crew seemed overwhelmed, chicken dinner was half cooked, entertainment system didn't work."
Miinukset: "No announcements made as to what gate # or boarding. We almost missed the flight because of the lack of information. Airport staff were as equally confused. Entertainment did not work at all."

Plussat: "Overall it was fine. However there were some downsides..."
Miinukset: "One of our bags didn't make it. Also, the plane left late for some reason. We weren't sure why they didn't start letting us board sooner. Finally, the airport in Nairobi is dangerous when early morning planes arrive. Arriving passengers who are in transit are ushered down an escalator where they are pushed into one another because of a security line backup...yet the escalator just keeps bringing more people. This happened to us in Nairobi in the early morning of July 26 and again in the early morning of August 2. I feared someone would be trampled or hurt."
Plussat: "Flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong, I didn't expect to be on an airline based out of Africa. Even though it was only an hour-long flight, it included in-flight entertainment and a full meal. The plane was a bit older, but comfortable, and the crew were very kind, friendly, and didn't rush the passengers. I hope I get the chance to fly on Kenya Airways again."

Plussat: "Good crew. Flight not fully booked so had some extra space. Efficient transfer desk"
Miinukset: "Food - just horrible Nairobi airport not much to do and annoying additional security checks between sub-terminals in terminal 1."
Plussat: "The flight was delayed in leaving but the Captain didn't say anything until we were about to land. The overnight flight was pleasant but the food was pretty mediocre."
Miinukset: "Crew were pretty good and the Dreamliner is an excellent aircraft, particularly in business class."

Plussat: "Business passengers still served snacks even with such a short flight. Great view of Mount Kilimanjaro"

Miinukset: "Hour late even though we had a late arrival of 1:35 am. Made us miss our airport transfer so it took over 2.5 hours to get to hotel"
