Crowded and slow and hot and uncomfortable. The Ryanair experience

Miinukset: "I did not check in online and was charged a huge fee, 55 euro to be exact. It would have been a nice reminder from the airline to have emailed with reminder to do so and what kind of fee I would be expecting to pay if I did not check in. Very ridiculous and rude customer service."

Miinukset: "It would be an impressive feat, seeing that in regular flights is already annoying, with little sleep and no explanation for the delay whatsoever it would be nice."
Miinukset: "The crew were soooo rude to everyone! Their card machine to buy drinks wasn’t working so they had to take cash but they didn’t have change! They charged 4 pounds for water. Then they were selling scratch tickets AND perfume and jewelry! THEY EVEN SPRAYED PURFUME ON THE PLANE! It gave me such a trrrible headache and made me even more nauseous than I already was from the flight!!! So smelly!!! The seats didn’t recline And my husbands seat was ripped. So terrible all around!!!"
Miinukset: "Had to stand outside in rain & wind while waiting to board. Took a very long time to board. Very loud people. Excessively loud engine noise. Attendant made me open my window shade. Small seat did not recline. No seat pocket for magazine."
Plussat: "good value for price."
Miinukset: "disorganized boarding, charged me another 57 euro on top of the extra i paid for priority boarding with 2 carry-on. my luggage fit the size but "stuck" out a little so the staff charged me for over-sized."

Miinukset: "We wait a long time to board!"
Miinukset: "The gate for boarding was supposed to close at 1205pm but they didn’t announce the gate until 11:30am. The flight was supposed to take off at 12:35pm but there was no announcement of delay, all of the attendants said that everything was on schedule, yet boarding didn’t even start until 1230pm. They randomly took people out of line and told them their bags were too big and made them pay 50 euro, even though their bags still went in the same hold and they were no bigger than anyone else’s when later compared. It was an international flight and multiple people didn’t even have to show their passports. Then on the plane we sat on the runway for about another hour and didn’t takeoff until 1:40pm. The take off was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. The seats were basically lawn chairs glued to the ground and the aisles aren’t large enough for the crew so they were constantly bumping everyone in the aisle seats. The landing felt like the plane was going to flip over and crash and then on top of everything we were told that Ryanair didn’t have enough employees to take our luggage off of the plane."
Miinukset: "Central Naples to Central London lasted 16 hours door to door! No proper explanation is given as to when to expect the flight to depart even roughly. People were kept standing up, waiting. Vouchers given for refreshments were valid in two places, one of them outside the airport! Somebody who couldn't use her voucher wanted to use it on the plane and it was not accepted."

Miinukset: "Lack of comunicoation and lack of services. Probably it was a bit cheaper than the competitors. But I made me think twice for next time Ryanair cross my way."
Miinukset: "Flight was cancelled , next flight 2 days later. Only online checking within 24-2hours else 55£ at the airport . Tried to checking online multiple times. Advance checkin online not free , checking at airport 55£ . In Less than 2 Hour before boarding online is not possible anymore. Ryanair counter cannot check you in and you will be sent forth and back to other counters"

Miinukset: "At FRA Airport ryanair sits about a 20min drive from the terminal. Adds 20min to boarding and landing procedures. But this is compensated with FRA being a super efficient airport at the baggage carousel and border control"

Miinukset: "Hold baggage took over half an hour to arrive. Loot enough seats in gate at airport of departure"
Plussat: "We checked in as soon as possible to try to get descent seats. However the assigned us two middle seats , one in the front of the plane and one in the back. It seemed like they were trying to give us the worst possible seats so that we would pay the extra to pick a seat. Almost all the other seats were open if we paid. We had already paid for priority boarding. Very disappointed."

Miinukset: "Spent an hour from landing to taxi, park and gwt out of the plane and airport. Car hire representatives left before we arrived"
Plussat: "Nothing was good about this flight"
Miinukset: "Flight was delayed by 4 hours, Ryanair lied to us the entire time"
Miinukset: "The flight was delayed by 45 mins without any announcements as to why. Also-you can't recline the seats!!!"
Plussat: "Ok, it's cheap, but added extras take the shine off this."
Miinukset: "To check in I was forced to book seats both ways, then had to pay extra on top of original price to pick the seats. There were a few spare seats on the flight so it wasn't a case of overbooked."
Miinukset: "It was 2h late Seats are not reclinable"
Miinukset: "Made us pay $35 per bag to check. This was not made obvious when book. Lady at check in did not tell us one of our bags was too large to check in. Will try to avoid Ryanair at ALL costs in the future."
Miinukset: "So many hidden fees. Boarding was very unorganized. In fact, the entire flight was unorganized and uncomfortable. I would never fly RyanAir again!"
Plussat: "Boarding using the planes fore and aft doors certainly speeds the process..."
Miinukset: "Seats are uncomfortable and the pitch is tight for 6 + footers"
Miinukset: "Flight was delayed by two hours which had a knock on effect to the day. Chose the 10am flight to be home by midday for an event in the afternoon. The delay meant I was not home till 17:30."
Plussat: "Ease of being all done online check.in . Seats . Loved the crew the friendliness. The seat comfort and space ."
Miinukset: "The allowing of drunk passengers on return rude loud quite scary . Crew dealt with them very professionally"
Miinukset: "Only use this airlines, if you don't have any luggage, if you don't care about reaching somewhere on time, if you don't care that every single step there is an extra cost. I plan to NEVER use this airlines again."
Plussat: "We got to our destination. Our bags arrived at our destination."
Miinukset: "1. Despite a delay of over 3 hours, RyanAir provided neither reimbursement nor meal vouchers, despite both being required by EU law. 2. Our boarding passes said, "if your flight is cancelled or delayed for at least two hours, ask at the ticket counter or boarding gate for the text stating your rights, particularly with regard to compensation and assistance." When we learned the flight would be delayed 2+ hours, we followed these directions; the gate agents told us, quite dismissively, that it applied only in case of a 3-hour delay. After wrestling with NAP's snail-pace wifi, I found the relevant text on the RyanAir website and showed it to a gate agent. She said her supervisor had told her that it had to be a delay of 3 hours but that she would check with her. I never heard from her again. It became a moot point when the flight was delayed more than 3 hours. Even then, the gate agents did none of the things the text said they were supposed to do. 3. The gate agents were not RyanAir employees, and it seemed RyanAir did not communicate with them in a helpful way. Independent of this, though, they were also just not competent. Here are some other things that happened: - About 2 hours after the scheduled departure, despite there being no plane at the gate, one of the gate agents started the boarding process. He let about 30-40 people into the holding pen; then a passenger pointed out that the delay had increased another hour. The passengers in the holding pen had to stay in there (one asked to leave to use the restroom and the gate agent told him he would have to surrender his passport while he was gone). - Once the 3-hour delay was posted, they started handing out gate check tags like candy. It was unclear why; perhaps they thought it would soothe the passengers' anger. We did not request one then. When we boarded, my wife asked for one. The gate agent did not even acknowledge her request (despite still having a good number left). - When the plane did arrive, the passengers in the holding pen rushed the door of the jetway. About 15 made it into the jetway (and, I guess, onto the plane) before a gate agent shouted at everyone to stop, ran over, and closed the jetway doors. 4. In other news... passengers were loud and rude. When the delay was first posted, they formed an angry mob around the gate agents and yelled questions that could have been answered by reading the monitor. Half of them had their seat belts off and were standing as soon as the plane landed. The whole row behind me was so loud I couldn't hear the music coming form my earbuds. The guy behind me pushed me as we were getting off the plane because he thought I wasn't going fast enough. Needless to say, no one should ever fly RyanAir."
Miinukset: "Ryanair wouldn't let me cancel my ticket or get a refund. Sad!"
Plussat: "The actual flight was smooth and without problems."
Miinukset: "Staff was rude and condescending at the check-in desk. They seemed unwilling to answer clarifying questions. Same staff members seemed unhappy to be there as passengers boarded flight."
Miinukset: "Still could do with just another couple of inches more space."
