At the Istanbul layover they forced me to pay $160 or else my items wouldn't make it on board. With a business class I still had to pay extra for a carry-on they said it was okay but then they changed their tune. I get it's in a different location but the same company is telling me two different things that ended up costing $160. On top of that, when I finally arrived at IAH they didn't have my skateboards... so I paid $160 for them to lose my boards."
Plussat: "Food was good. One thing I like about Turkish Arilines is that the plastic containers they use for food are a variety of shapes and sizes. This really helps the food service seem less industrial."
Miinukset: "Check-in was ludicrously slow, though that may have been due more to customers than to staff... Entertainment system at my seat not functioning."

Plussat: "Nobody wants to sit on a plane for 10-14 hours but Turkish airlines made it enjoyable! Excellent customer service. We had plenty of beverages, sleeping kits, a wide range of entertainment on the screens, and they had my vegetarian meals ready. Always friendly and helpful."
Miinukset: "If there was about a foot more legroom, that would be awesome! But I would probably have to pay for first-class to achieve that. ;-)"
Miinukset: "The flight left early, without me. Instead of beginning boarding at the time printed on my ticket, like every other airline, boarding was completed and closed fifteen minutes before my ticket said they would start, so even though I was eight minutes early I was actually seven minutes too late. Turkish Airlines service desk took the evidence (my ticket) and then refused to rebook me, forcing me to pay $600 for a new flight and for a visa to Turkey just so I could exit through security to book & pay for it. They will not be getting any more of my business in the future!"

Plussat: "The flight was great and the service was wonderful. The plane was new and clean. A huge plus was the video entertainment in every seat along with headphones and USB Charging Port. They poured me a double Glenlivet scotch on the rocks at NO CHARGE!"
Miinukset: "I booked three round-trip tickets from LAX to Athens. Our daughter did not fly with us there but we checked with ticketing in LAX and they booked her seat anyway. The issue came when we tried to leave Athens the airlines then said that I had to purchase a one-way ticket! They informed me that the flight was cancelled for my daughter because she didn't fly to Athens. The ticket was almost $1,500.00 and I intend to get my money back but it was unfortunate that they had to charge me for it in the first place."

Plussat: "We were hesitant about flying Turkish Airlines. In the past they have had bad reviews and there had just been the terrorist bombing at the airport. But the flights to Croatia were cheap so we bought. The food was great and plentiful. Staff were very polite. We had a night flight to Istanbul and both my wife an I were able to stretch out in empty middle rows seats and sleep. I would definitely fly them again. They are very underrated."

Plussat: "Everything about the airline is perfect. The staff on ground and airplane are very professional, the services are excellent, food is great, the airplane nice and comfortable, blankets nice color. The landing at LAX was perfectly smooth. I will fly with Turkish airlines again."
Plussat: "I had a really long lay over and got a free hotel. None of the airline personal will help you find the hotel desk you need to get to, but if you keep asking around you'll find it eventually(in arrivals next to the starbucks). Shuttle service to and from the hotel. The hotel was fine(I mean not great but it was descent)."
Miinukset: "The flight attendants aren't super nice and if they don't understand you they kinda just move on. So that was sort of annoying."
Plussat: "There was a lot to choose entertainment wise."
Miinukset: "We had a child behind us who would not stop screaming and playing with the tray table. One of the crew members gave me a hard time for having my purse out for 1 minute while I was taking my prenatal vitamin even though we were sitting on the runway for over an hour at this point and the man in front of me had his chair fully reclined so I wasn't able to get to it under my seat.. Even though as she said, we were about to take off, but she didn't say anything to the man in front of me. This was my second time flying with them and the first experience was much better."

Plussat: "We were pleasantly surprised when we received a full box of snacks on our short flight from Zagreb to Instabul. The trip was comfortable and we enjoyed that there was a movie available overhead and they provided headphones for. Overall, it was a fine experience."
Miinukset: "Service was fine until our water bottle (which we thought was empty) leaked a bit in the overhead compartment and the female crewmember was incredibly rude and gave the most disgusted look when we claimed the bag that had a small leak of water (about a tablespoon). She also whispered something in Turkish to fellow crewmembers and they all laughed. It was embarrassing and unnecessary. We also were left in the bus on the tarmac for 10 minutes before we could board without any notification of what was going on."

I asked the male flight attendant about changing airplanes, said our new gate was right next to our arriving gate. He said no problem. He failed to mention we had to go through customs and security again, and walk almost a Kilometer in the process. Fortunately they held the Amsterdam plane because many passengers would have missed it. I did not appreciate the lack of information from the flight attendant, however holding the plane was a godsend."

Plussat: "the flight missed my connection and they were AWESOME in handling it, getting me on a Swiss Air flight. That flight also missed its connection and Swiss Air took great care to put me up in a hotel. They made a frustrating situation so much smoother!"

Miinukset: "Kayak sent me an email at 5:16am for an 8:15 am flight titled, "Austrian Airlines flight #704 from PRG on time". It was in fact cancelled. Unfortunately we missed the connection for the flight to Newark, which we were expressly told would be held for us... they shut the door 30 seconds before we arrived, with the plane still at the gate. Had to then go to the only counter in the terminal to see if we could get on standby. Finally got on a flight to JFK instead at 5:15pm."
Plussat: "The crew was very professional and kind and evetything was on time. The food is tasty."
Miinukset: "No entertainment at all."
Plussat: "The crew was wonderful, as is always true with both Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa."
Miinukset: "My father and I were seated in biz class but were unable to sleep because of a fan noise directly over our seats in Row 9. We complained to the attendant about it but she was unable to determine the cause. Many hours later, a different crew member identified the noise source and stopped it by simply flipping a switch. This disruptive noise could have easily been avoided but the ignorance of the crew member to whom we complained failed to solve it. By the time the second crew member identified the problem there was not enough time to sleep. This experience was extremely disappointing. We paid extra to fly business class so we could sleep, but this ridiculous crew error fouled our plans. We asked the crew to file a report about it and they did. Look into it. We expect a refund of the extra fare we paid, or else we will never fly Austrian Airlines again. I am an affluent person and I travel internationally 6 times per year. You would be smart not to anger me and lose my business."
Plussat: "In general, I like the on board food of Austrian and especially in regard of Do&Co catering from Vienna Airport. Staff was not to trying this time but service was still okay."
Miinukset: "The Senator Lounge at Vienna Airport is very poor, food selection is very limited and it is obvious that the focus is on cost saving. Another disadvantage is that the lounge only opens at 5.30am in the morning but first flight already leave Vienna around 6am. Mine was at 7.05am which meant that I just arrived when the lounge opened and I had to wait in a long cue. Boarding was due to the limited space in front of the gate a mess, priority boarding was announced but I was not made sure that priority passengers board first. The seats on board are for business to small and there is not even space to hag up the coat."

Miinukset: "The flight was 9 and half hours and the food was very poor, I was starving ,maybe AA can improve that, it would be nice if they could add a little bit of fruit and a yogurt for a good digestion .Also, the sandwich they gave us at the end was so small ,maybe they can give us a real sandwich instead ..Sorry AA ,but you need to work on that .For the price I paid I can fly United ,they don't let me starve."

Miinukset: "Seats on the 777 were too narrow. This 777 had a 3-4-3 seating arraignment, it would have been better with a 3-3-3, similar to a 787 configuration. With the current layout, even with an aisle seat, I was sitting in the aisle. And I am not a large person! The flight was full, so use the 787 and two daily non-stops. For a twelve hour flight, the food was only Okay, could have been better and with a better selection. Meal timing was poor."
Plussat: "Ground staff at Manchester very helpful"
Miinukset: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."

Plussat: "Flight crew was pleasant and attentive. Seats were comfortable for economy as well. We were allowed to check in extra baggage for free at check in which really helped since we would be catching a connecting flight in Amsterdam"
Plussat: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

When we arrived to the plane, they had both entrances open so that those sitting near the rear of the plane would enter from the back. Plane was a little chilly, but I have come to expect that one most flights."

Miinukset: "Departure was scheduled with one hour delay. When everyone was boarded they mentioned a leaking toilet. It took them 1,5 hours to disable the toilet. In the mean time, no drinks, no snacks, nothing. So we should depart at 18:00 but it became 19:30. Our first drinks and meal was no earlier then 21:00. The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."

By the end of the trip when we were approaching Ams, a hostess came and she gave us a $25 dollar discountvoucher to be used in our next trip, this is totally not acceptable!"
Plussat: "Crew on EWR to ARN was so-so. They lock restrooms at the back because they don't people hanging around the kitchen in the back. Also, the one cabin crew does not say Excuse Me when he needs to pass- he just touches you and pushes you aside Also, the one cabin crew"

Miinukset: "While in Stockholm we had a flight delay and multiple gate changes. The lack of communication was frustrating. The food was too spicy for my taste as well as my 2 yr olds. No options were offered on the menu."

If they do answer the phone (1-800-221-2350), they either put you on hold for a whole day or, if you leave your phone no. and name to have them call you back, they never do . I am not the only person who has this experience. It is too bad because if this continues, the airline will loose business and I would hate to see that. However, I still will use KAYAK"

One to use the machines, one to check bags and another for special situations. We tried the machines, didn't work. A rep told us to go to the special situations line. There was a rep there that was trying to prevent people to getting into the line because it was sooo long (1+ hr). So we tied the machines again. Didn't work. So we convinced the guy to let us in the special line. It was nuts. We waited as our flight got closer and closer. Right when it looked like we might make the flight, one of the TWO reps left. When we finally made it, they said we wouldn't make the flight. We rebooked and had to pay extra. WORST travel experience ever."
Miinukset: "When trying to board in Copenhagen there were some mishaps, but these were mainly caused by people ignoring signs along the way. They did not offer any complimentary snacks at all. Only one drink"

Miinukset: "Check in at Manchester was a joke. No signage for Brussels Airlines to start with and no one to help. Long queue, over 1½ hours to drop a bag after checking in on line. Every other airline was way faster. Thankfully, security was relatively quick."

Never encountered that before on any other airlines."

Miinukset: "The staff for SN Brussles is very rude to Africans. They are super disrespectful and it is very obvious how tacist they are. It is uncomfortable flying witha stafflike that. Also our flight had electrical and engine problems at our first stop in Freetown. Once we landed in Monrovia, it took about 35mins for them to let us off the plane because the doors were not working and opening up. Once we finally got off the plane, it took a whole 2 hours for them to get our baggage e off the plane because spmething was wrong and they couldnot access the baggage to take it off. I am aware that planes can “fly with one engine”, but flying a plane with one engine along with it having electrical problems is not safe and A RISK! why take that risk of something bad happening, not only would lives of innocent people and their crew get lost, but that is a million dollar assest that could get lost and a PR nightmare. It is a shame they took that risk. They also dodnt tell us until we landed. Had I known before we took off at Freetown I would have gladly fot off and found another mode of transportation to get to my final destination. SN Brussels is know to send their sh*tty planes to Africa, because there are always problems with the planes heading to that continent. It is just another obvious proof of their racism."

Miinukset: "Called and made a reservation directly with Air Brussels to make sure we got a bassinet seat for our infant and that did not happen. Old airplane and very bad customer service all around. Took over 2 hours to check in at 4am in the morning."

Miinukset: "The entertainment screen was about 6 inches wide and there were only four movies to choose from (one that was older than the hills). The screen wasn't clear. Hard to believe that there was such poor technology for a flight from the U.S. to Europe. Also, there were no ports to charge phones or tablets which made it near impossible to watch entertainment on a phone or tablet due to low battery levels. The wi-fi was not strong. I typically like food on an airplane, but this food was not something to be enjoyed. I hope to not fly Brussels Airlines/United again. I'll stick with British Airways and American."

If I have a choice, I don't think I will ever fly this airline again. Brussels airport is also a confusing mess. You just wait in line after line with no clear direction. They left one of my bags behind in Brussels as well, and I have yet to receive an update on where it is."

The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."

I will observe this as I travel back to Brussel and on to US."
