Austrian airlines food is really good compared to more recent airlines I’ve been on

I was assured there would be no problems. Upon boarding they were not able to get on their flight. I have never had so many communication issues and frustrations in the middle of the night with an airline. disappointed."

So I try to call Austrian, but they work just from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. I start to search all the info the site of Austrian, and find one phone number that seats be working 24 hours. So finally I got a person on the phone who was able to help me. ..."

Plussat: "The seat spacing was fair -- I'm 185 cm (6' 1") and I could sit normally. The crew were friendly and rather competent. The food was adequate. We were given several rounds of drinks, which is beyond what usually comes with budget travel."

We were all invited 45 minutes before boarding to board, when apologies were already offered for the slight delay, which turned into 1.5 hour overall. Worst is the lack of communication during the 45 minute wait, for which I have little understanding seeing many older people clearly suffering."

Brand new machine arriving in time to destination, everything went smoothly
The flight was loud, seats uncomfortable, but the flight attendant’s we’re nice 👌. Very poor in terms of comfort or food. Also really expensive. I would advise everyone to eat and drink before the flights. It’s really bad.
Flight delayed without explanation
We couldn´t get the boarding pass on line although we tried many times during the previous 24 hours. They made us to pay a suplement of 30 euros in the airport. We have felt cheated.

Old planes, ride staff (even by remarkably curt and abrupt Romanian standards). Broken inline experience. Overall unpleasant. The system charged y credit card for a seat reservation and then crashed with an error, both on my phone and laptop browser. When I called at 9:00 am (when their offices are open) to ask for help with what happened, I received no answer other than, "the check in system has just closed. I am unable to help you in any way". I booked another flight with another carrier, and did not take this flight., not do I plan to book with them in the future That being said, it is not the job of the employee to defend a poorly working system. Services need upgrade asap."

The chairs were much more comfortable than any other plane I’ve been on due to the adjustable head rest, and as a regular flyer to Cyprus, this made a difference. The sweets served just before landing is an excellent idea and something that we do need due to our ears, so this was appreciated. staff were attentive and pleasant."

Miinukset: "Dusseldorf to Warsaw: Boarding terrible including assistance and messaging. - Boarding chaos - Late flight out of Dusseldorf (about an hour) - Just before landing, pilot announced all connections would be made - (and even mentioned chicago) - Connecting flight was gone when I arrived at gate, and I was quick in getting to gate from prior flight - next flight caused 5 hour layover in Warsaw Warsaw to Chicago Boarding terrible including assistance and messaging. - Boarding chaos - Late flight our ot Warsaw (about an hour) - no messaging at gate about reason for delay - kept increasing departure by 5 minute increments; started at 16:40 ended 17:05 (I beleive) - once boarding was complete, pilot said delay was due to wait for connections (boarding was an hour and 15 minutes late). Very frustrated"

Then the flight was further delayed with no news about when the new take off would be or why the delay. Finally boarded a tiny plane that had propellers and a loud take off, if you easily fright on planes probably not the best choice for you. And then someone started smoking on the flight and the attendants had to announce again that smoking wasnt allowed. On and off throughout the flight it smelled like someone was smoking so I wonder if it was even coming from the cockpit."

Miinukset: "The internet support. I spent meny hours trying to check-in and upgrade my case allowance from 20kg to 32kg, and failed. When I tried to change the baggage weight to 32kg a charge was added for NOT taking the case PLUS the extra for the 32kg case! The cost of a case is reasonable and I would advise to pay the extra £5 for 32kg for most flights. The on-line Seating Selection is also unreliable, I was seated next to an empty seat which had been showing to be unavailable on-line! A response to my query which I sent to Blue Air arrived when I was in the air on the flight! It only repeated the baggage section of the Confitions document! Thank goodness for the excellent airport check-in staff and the Flight Crew!"

I also found out at the Madrid airport that there was no desk to check in for Norwegian for connecting flights. This means that I had to leave, go to departures, check in, go through security, and then proceed to the gate. I fortunately had a long layover, but this process would have been impossible if I didn't have at least two hours."

The airline neglected to offload my checked luggage, refused to do accommodate me with a change fee and now has lost my bag and has no idea where it is."

Plussat: "The Dreamliner is a really nice plane to fly in. maybe not as much legroom as I've had in a Delta 737, but the new TV screens, large windows and swish lighting were all great. The way you can order and pay for snacks through your screen is also great."

Check in leaving JFK was pretty long and not so smooth but all went well! Intertainment was fine and seats comfortable!"
Miinukset: "I've been traveling to Europe and back for 40 years+. This is the first time I have ever had to weigh in my pocketbook along with my carry-on bag - that's outrageous!!! I realize that you are a discount carrier, and one has to pay for luggage, but this is ridiculous!!! You go to the extreme, and a women's pocketbook should not have to be added to the scale along with any other carry-on bags for a total weight of 10 Kil. That's extreme and very miserly in my opinion and not a positive refection on your airline!"

Plussat: "I recieved emails informing me of possible disruption to travel to and from airport ie road congestion & weather conditions and recommendations to avoid delays which I thought was a very helpful service."
Miinukset: "We didn't pre order food but understood snacks could be ordered during flight. The sandwiches had all sold soon after we departed New York. We were lucky enough to buy the last fruit salad. We had nothing else to eat for the entire journey. We booked hand luggage only. Obtaining a boarding pass electronically for myself and my partner was impossible. On the fourth attempt I booked myself in individually and was successfully. I then booked in my partner successfully.We tried to go through departures armed with our boarding pass but we're refused entry. We were redirected back to Norwegian main check in to obtain a happy face stamp on our boarding pass which is obtained after the weight of the luggage has been checked. Unfortunately this means that instead of going straight through departures with hand luggage only we had to go to the main Check in anyway. I agree with checking weight of hand luggage but the process could be improved greatly."

I only found out I had to pay for my bag at check in bag drop. - Basic food should be standard on all transatlantic flights! - Water, tea/coffee should be standard on a transatlantic flights! I mean c’mon, who pays for water on a long haul flight? Is that a joke? Who comes up with these pricing strategies? A transatlantic budget airline? Stop ripping off travelers just to make a quick buck.. Evil are those who negotiate partnership deals like this without keeping your customer in mind. You are in the service industry for crying out loud! - If any of such amenities are not offered on long haul flights, that needs to be EXPLICITLY NOTED IN BIG BOLD LETTERS DURING BOOKING. - Very poor understanding of customer behaviour and flight booking.. - Price discrimination by having to pay for standard amenities on long haul flights is evil and unethical"
Miinukset: "The flight was delayed but no information was given or displayed or forth coming as to why or when the flight would then be. Cabin crew were functional but not polite or helpful. In total we spent nearly 12 hours on the plane which should have been an 8.5 hour flight. There was not enough leg room and it was extremely hot. Over all a very poor experience and will not choose to fly norweign again."

Didn’t have any way of checking in so even though I was at the check in desk almost an hour early I wasn’t allowed in and they stated I missed my flight. They weren’t able to get me on the evening flight either. I was stuck at the airport. Throughout this there was absolutely no compassion from any of the workers. I was visibly very upset and the supervisor was standing right in front of me joking around with a coworker, ignoring me. I had to go up to her. I am seriously concerned about my flight back from London via Norwegian, and should probably just cancel and use a different airline to be honest."

Poor distribution of seats - many people (not travelling together) were seated 3 in a row yet several people had 3 seats to themselves. Captain did not address the one hour delay with an apology or an explanation."

The only people allowed to have a drink were those that preordered food. I wasn't aware I needed to do that and have no problem ordering food onboard (which I did) but to be completely over looked for even a cup of WATER? It was quite humiliating to not even be looked at unless I was someone that preordered food. I just don't understand that at all. Even on a 30 min flight to Akron I get a water or soda or coffee. This was an 8 hour flight!"

We are exhausted from the long travels & are even more pissed off when multiple customers kept waiting for their luggage. I felt even more horrible to the family that was taking a cruise the next day. Can you believe Norwegian airlines are closed on Sunday. Couldn't talk to customer service until Monday when they opened. Bad customer satisfaction;("

Seats for parents flying with infants are window seats, which is an obstacle, especially when changing tables in bathrooms are only on the other side of the plane -food overpriced. Plussat: "The entertainment is pretty good, but doesn't make up for everything else."
Miinukset: "The staff was creepy and abusive. I had an aisle seat and was being bumped into for the entire flight. I was trying to sleep, so this was a huge issue. One of the times I was bumped pretty hard, I looked up and this stone face stewardess with glass eyes was staring angrily back, begging me to say something. Later in the flight, a girl a few rows ahead of my was asleep on the armrest. Glass eyes didn't even attempt to walk around her, but slammed her hip right into the woman's head instead. She didn't even slow down. It was the weirdest, most abusive behavior I've ever seen on an airplane."
Plussat: "Liked most everything about the plane!"
Miinukset: "There was a lot of turbulence . When the plane landed we were on the runway for over an hour."
Plussat: "This may be the best airline bang for your buck, ever! An extremely well-run operation, with a highly competent and engaging crew, across the board. The vibe is overwhelmingly positive and the ability to feed and entertain yourself, via automated touchscreens, with quick and efficient delivery, makes other methods seem archaic. Looking forward to flying Norwegian again!"
Miinukset: "The legroom isn't the greatest, but I am nearly 6'."
Plussat: "The plane was modern and spacious. A 787 Dreamliner."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed 15 hours + due to "operational error" did not get notified via email/text"
Plussat: "I had an extenuating circumstance on my way to the airport and the crew and staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful, rather than leaving me overseas for another night. The flight and in-flight experience was also great."
Miinukset: "I ordered food online, but the flight attendant just ignored me, i need to tell them that I had ordered meal time to time. The flight attendant didn't even say sorry."
Miinukset: "International flights should serve food for free. This one did not."

Miinukset: "I paid for travel insurance yet I still had to pay Ryanair 55euro for not being able to check in before my flight as checking in with momondo would not work!"

Miinukset: "Another passenger had exactly the same seat number as me which caused confusion and an uncomfortable situation"
Plussat: "Flight was quick"
Miinukset: "The representative at check in almost charged us €100 for a checked bag we’d already paid for when we bought our tickets online. When I asked her “didn’t we already pay for this?” She checked her screen and just said “oh” and let us through."
Miinukset: "the worst traveling experience. as intl travelers could not download the wi-fi at their airport and they charged 40.00 per person for just the check in ticket... the customer service was the worst ever. very nasty employees"
Plussat: "Nothing late again dirty plane not allowed to bring alcohol on which is fair enough but they don’t mind selling you there own"

Miinukset: "The app wasn’t working to check in. We arrived to the airport 1.5 hrs early only for them to tell us that there would be a $56 charge for not checking in 2 hours ahead of time. This is absurd. Almost as much as our ticket to Mallorca. Not okay. They were so rude to us and I dont trust that they will do this again to us. It’s a scam in my opinion. Definitely read all of the fine print or they will rip you off. Oh! And we paid for PRIORITY boarding. Psh"

Miinukset: "As mentioned being separated by the “ random computer choice of seats. We were put rows apart both with empty seats either side of us, we fly lots and only Ryanair and Jet2 do this."
Miinukset: "The seats are small and they don’t lay back even when I upgraded to priority. I had to ask for food and water and paid a lot. But mainly the flight was delayed over 2 hours before boarding and then another 45 min in the cramped plan:("

Miinukset: "80 euros for the flight - 55 euros for a check in fee...what a joke - how do u calculate that price? Over 53 countries visited and that's the first flight I ever had to pay to check in - last flight with them"
Miinukset: "everytime I fly Edinburgh to Dublin and in the reverse direction I am delayed. This has happened for 4 return journeys I have made in the past 10 months. Last night's delay meant I missed my 3hr bus home to Galway and had to wait until 6.30am!!! Why is this flight alway always delayed. This has also happened to my family on different occasions, Why??"
Plussat: "Finding an affordable flight to allow the family to get away for a weeks holiday that would otherwise not be possible."
Miinukset: "Having the family sitting separately on the flight as we were not able to afford to pay additional money to per book seats. But it was only a 2 hour flight so we coped. Think it would be a good idea if the airline didn’t just assume that because a child is 11 years old they are able to sit away from their parents. My son has additional needs and so although his chronological age is 12 years his developmental age is only 7/8 years so being sat away from his parents was very stressful for him. Maybe asking during booking if any of the party hav s additioonal needs would be a good idea."

Miinukset: "When check in took place we were kept in a dark,cold,wet & windy covered area for about 10/15 minutes before being allowed to board the plane. This is really unacceptable in this day & age."
Plussat: "With Ryanair, you can only really like the price and the people. To be fair though, m the toilet was clean.."
Miinukset: "Our flight was scheduled to depart at 7.30 am, but was still refueling after an earlier flight at that time. In a way it was lucky that it was late; if it had been in time, we would have been queueing on the Stansted tarmac in the rain. As it was, the rain had just stopped while we waited at the foot of the aircraft stairs. We actually took off 45 mins late. The new, additional-cost priority boarding is a joke: almost everyone was a "priority". Several passengers didn't understand the long "priority" queue, so joined it only to be turned away at check-in."

Plussat: "Simple online check in; short ride; arrived on time."
Miinukset: "We waited on line for over 30 min before boarding; no food or beverages were offered and the plane was not equipped for in-flight entertainment."
Miinukset: "Ryan Air makes you pay a "Priorty" boarding fee so that you can take your carry-on on board. Then if there's room they'll let non-priority passengers bring their carry-on's. We were at the front of the line for non-priority. They said we had to check our carry-on's because there was no more space. However, they never filled up their overhead bins and they remained empty on the flight! What a scam."
Miinukset: "Boarding was stressful, took a long time and people started pushing in line as they were worried the would miss flight. There were no staff stopping this so people that pushed in boarded first which was frustrating"
Miinukset: "Delay of flight and delayed access to car rental (made via Ryan Air). Ryan Air did nothing to help with communicating the delay to the car rental company."
Plussat: "Price for the flight"
Miinukset: "Unexpected, late, and lack of communication of long delay. The gate numbers change at almost the last minute to boarding, meaning you may need to run to the right gate and be last in line."
Miinukset: "Delay on departing"
Miinukset: "The website to check in was confusing, bombarding with other fees so when I saw the option to check in later I never completed online check in. Plus I was on vacation already in another country with limited internet. I was unaware that I would have to pay a 50 euro fee per person for not checking in online! I was assigned a seat in the last row of the plane while my travel companion was all the way in the front."

Plussat: "Arrived at 5.45, checked in, gone through security by 06.30. Flight delayed by 15 minutes, due to passengers not Ryanair. Arrived 15 minutes early so would have arrived earlier at Palma. Staff seemed friendly. No real complaints."
Miinukset: "We had trouble checking in beforehand we got there 2 hrs early and were still charged extra $100 dollars to print our boarding pass. THIS IS unacceptable"
