Fortunately I was second in the ticket office line and was promptly rebooked with Lufthansa. My return flight was cancelled because of the coup, and again I was rebooked with Lufthansa."
Miinukset: "Overall Turkish Airlines did well in a difficult situation. But a few concerns. On my inbound flight, the agent servicing us was amazing and I was fortunate to be second in line, but the airline was ill prepared for the situation and the agent was being hung out to dry by his colleagues who kept calling him and wouldn't let him do his job. On the return flight, I was frustrated the agents at first pushed me to take a refund rather than letting me rebook with a partner. I ended up having to leave a day later than expected, and didn't get an itinerary till the morning after my original flight. This was all very stressful. Lastly, you have to think twice about flying through Turkey. Although this coup is over, the next crisis will be over whether President Erdogan creeping authoritarianism."

Plussat: "I booked a round trip flight from IAD to NUE with stay over in IST. Try to make change flight date IST to NUE. I was told by the Turkish air agent to buy a new on way ticket from IST to NUE and use the origenal ticket from NUE to IAD and I did. The the nightmare begun when I try to get back to back to iAD. I was told my ticket was cancelled and have to buy new ticket. After 7 hrs exosting fight and inconvenience when they found out that I was not easily going to be hustled out $1100+ they finally reissued my tickets. During this time I witnessed how 10-20 customers old and young were being hustled for more money and some crying out of frustration. It was one of the worst experience I've had in my 45+yrs traveling experience."

If you travel with somebody and like to sit together you have to pay extra money. during the flight the crew was going up the alley trying to sell whatever they have for sale during the flight, going from drinks to food, from gifts to alcohol and cigarettes, but not giving the embarkment cards like every other airline does, no, here you have to wait to be in front of the customs, get the form, fill in the form and then take your place in the queue for another 30 minutes.. and I don't mention here how many times the crew hit my leg and knee with the trolley during the two hours flight."
Plussat: "Low-cost flight. Very affordable. Easy check-in online. Clear policies. Friendly staff. Comfortable flight. Tips: Print out you boarding pass. Pay ahead for check-in or extra luggage. Expect to pay extra if you print your ticket at the airport, pay for luggage at the airport, opt for a reserved seat. Don't expect complimentary snacks and drinks (available for purchase). Their Sky Mall magazine is the entertainment and gets passed out (recommend you bring your own entertainment). These are all necessary to keep these flights very low cost! It is worth it!"

Miinukset: "--Online check-in system is strange and puts the onus on passengers to do the work w/in a bizzare window of time. If you remember to do it too much ahead of time, then you get charged a fee. If you remember to do it too late, then you get charged a fee. --The fee for missing the check-in online window is exorbitant (50 euros per person) and seems to be a punishment more than anything else, since I don't see how buying and installing a kiosk for customers to check-in at the airport would be less cost effective for the company. Particularly when you consider the cost of the employee's salary whose sole job it is to sit and process the "late check-in" paperwork at a different window. --The luggage fee is among the highest I've ever encountered and also has to be "processed" at a different window with a Ryanair employee who literally fills carbon copies of paperwork in for every single person in line. (There must be a more modern option for their infrastructure than this.) My husband and I had to go back and forth to this other window since the people at the check-in window didn't bother to tell us that we'd have to process the luggage fee + the check-in fee at the separate window. --Finally, the boarding process was chaotic, crowded, and late. And I was kept awake the entire flight by flight attendants making several announcements about Ryanair promotions, including employees pushing actual carts full of non-food items (like cologne) up and down the aisle to sell as if the airways were a flea market. Overall I would have saved time, money, and huge headaches if I had booked a pricier flight up front. At least those companies have some integrity."

Also, I lost something small but significant in the airplane, and when I asked to baggage services, they answered me in a very bad way, without any intention to help me. Definitely, this was my first and last time flying in Ryanair."

We did not buy a single thing to put in our bags in Madrid and yet my luggage was 2 kg over and we had to pay an additional 20 euros and they said my husbands was too large to carry on - though we did prove to them if fit and they eventually let us but it was an ordeal (they didn't even bother two people in front of us with the exact same luggage). The Madrid Ryanair employees could learn a couple things in hospitality from the Dublin ones."
Miinukset: "Very difficult to locate checking area in Madrid. The boarding team was rude, selectively enforced rules and made the boarding of the plane a chaotic experience. The plane seats have no leg room, they are cramped and don't recline. They provide no complimentary refreshments, I have to beg for a small cup or ice. I would have rather pay more and not save to have this flight option! We flew Madrid to Marrakesh and will not do it again!"

HOW ABOUT SELLING BAGGAGE THAT AGREES WITH THE STANDARD WEIGHT (50 ILBS OR 23 KILOGRAMS) INSTEAD OF 20?"
