Plussat: "JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."
Miinukset: "Security and Immigration at Tokyo Haneda is harder than at US airports, but that's to be expected and nothing that JAL can control."
Plussat: "The coach seats were larger than those on domestic flights. The window glass was dimmable for ideal lighting."
Miinukset: "The arm rests did not go up all the way. This made it difficult to maximize comfort with my wife."
Plussat: "One of the JAL ground crew was fantastic at Narita airport. I didn’t have enough time to get on my next flight. She provided me full assistance to take me to the connecting flight gate on time."
Miinukset: "Several flight attendants gave me wrong drinks."
Plussat: "Bad handling and organization by JAL ground management. There was no support at the gate or clear leadership or direction of what needed to happen or what was to be done for the passengers They dumped everything in the Malaysian ground agents to handle without clear direction. Very poor service and no accountability"

Miinukset: "The dinner meal was not what I requested. A roll with breakfast would have helped. The shrimp was good what was under them was not so good. We had to wait tell last minute to sit together."

Miinukset: "There was the boarding from Tokyo to New York, where the selected gate did not have a comfort room. You have to back upstairs walk for quite a distance to use the toilet. Inconvenient and time consuming lugging your things with you."

Miinukset: "Because of some system updating we were unable to check in online and had to wait until we got to the airport to select seats. By then, there were no decent seats available. My bladder nearly burst because the guy next to me slept the whole time. They say it will take 3 weeks to update the system. This is a terrible level of customer care."
Plussat: "No wait at JAL business class checkin.....security and immigration were slow, didn't see a separate line for business class if it existed. Access to Korean lounge, was fairly standard. Crew very friendly once on board. Plenty of good food and drink for a relatively short flight."

Miinukset: "I think my negative impression of this flight was more due to the extreme turbulence and extra hour spent on the ground at Narita, which is always a challenging airport. The meals were passable, but hardly anything to be proud of, seats were cramped and flight was pretty uncomfortable."

Miinukset: "I could not check in because the system cannot link my flight legs and as such it considered that I’m going to Europe although I’m just transiting in Europe. So it required a visa which I don’t have."
Miinukset: "Missed connection flight in Chicago due to a technical delay in Munich, the tank vehicle had a defect and the ground power in Chicago went out. It is now the 4 th time that we got stranded in Chicago. So Condor, Lufthansa and Chicago are getting on our shitlist......"
Plussat: "Terrible flight. Super tight seats. Major airport delay to take off and land. Overall not a good experience."

Plussat: "The Crew was very helpful, they were always around and offering all kind of help."
Miinukset: "The food was very cheap, we had no choice for a better offer. We were hungry and had to eat.... The seats were changed at the last minute, we were very upset!!! We did our confirmation on line and get our seats assigned. When we got to the airport we were surprised that they changed them."

Miinukset: "I din't like the fact that Lufhtansa company uses double standards for the countries where they have their flights. From USA, San Jose, Ca, to Frankfurt, Germany everything was good (flight on 08/31/2018 - 09/01/2018). They have been very profesional, beganing wih the boarding time untill the arrival in Frankfurt. The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

Miinukset: "Worst hospitality. Asked for water, never came to serve. Had to remind and call couple of times."
Plussat: "Food was good. Flight was on time, everything went smoothly"

Miinukset: "They don’t have order while boarding No space for the carry on- they didn’t ask to check them for free."

Miinukset: "The seats in the economy class are too small. Not once did I have someone sitting next to me who could actually fit in his seat. They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."
Plussat: "a normal coach experience, nothing special or bad about the flight"
Miinukset: "was not accustomed to walking outside or taking a bus to palne, was kind of ruff due to weather"
Miinukset: "The person at the Swiss/Lufthansa front desk, some Mohamed guy, was very rude when he did my check in"

Plussat: "Best part: Getting off the plane and swearing never to fly with Lufthansa again."
Miinukset: "Flying to Munich- flight was cancelled. Had to rebook on United for the following day. Arrived almost 2 days late (the original was direct, the United had layovers) and missed a planned trip to Neuschwanstein castle. Flying from Munich- The entertainment screen was broken, completely unusable. After a hard reset by the flight attendant several times... Still broken. She said she thought it would fix itself once we were at cruising altitude. Nope. Notified the flight attendant who said vaguely "I'll see what I can do..." Never came back to check, never got offered any sort of compensation (even something like a free mixed drink would have been nice), offer to move seats, nothing. So- ten hours with no entertainment/nothing to watch, just a malfunctioning screen. Food was mediocre. We boarded late, and left almost 1 hour late because they had to wait for an employee (who was not working, just getting a ride back) to board. Literally there and back with Lufthansa was a fiasco. On top of it, we have been back for 3 weeks and are still waiting to hear back from Lufthansa customer service. Apparently they only communicate by email with complaints. Not over the phone. So after repeated emails, just radio silence. Terrible airline."

Miinukset: "The entertainment screens in our row of seats were not working. The crew did find seats we could move to if we wanted to watch movies. Made two phone calls to the airline prior to my scheduled trip to attempt a seat upgrade but they told me I would have to do this at the airport where of course no upgrades were available"
Plussat: "The flight is less than 3 hours, yet they include a sandwich with the flight."

Plussat: "It was a smooth and uneventful flight. Friendly crew, nice light snack, and good beer (and lots of water to stay hydrated). No complaints here."

Miinukset: "It's not clear why they feed us at 3 am (one hour into the flight) instead of near the end of the flight (breakfast time). Are they trying to save money by having to heat the food less? It seems to make more sense to let people sleep and wake up to breakfast just before landing (around 6 am)."

Miinukset: "No seating area at or near the gate we boarded at, and as boarding was delayed, many people ended up standing for some time because we did not wish to wander too far and then be late for boarding."
Plussat: "Very friendly and accommodating crew, efficient service, nice breakfast pastry for the short flight to Frankfurt"
Miinukset: "Would have been nice to have an entertainment option, but I had a book, so the 2.5 hrs went fast enough."
Plussat: "Service was good, boarding was fast, no other issues."
Miinukset: "The seat pitch is inhumane. I could barely fit into the seat without hitting my knees on the seat in front. And that was before the person ahead of me reclined. It's not like Lufthansa is a budget airline. It's a full-fledged major carrier charging full-fledged prices. Seriously, I was expecting more."

Plussat: "Crew worked hard to make the journey pleasant, including the second crew for my connection to New York JFK, a much longer flight. Even some of the food was edible."

Miinukset: "A kid next to me keep shifting and kick me and nudge me all the time. His dad was trying to stop him from moving too much but couldn't control entirely. I kept waking up"
Miinukset: "I had ordered muslim meal but was served vegetarian (meatless) meal instead. Muslim meals can be served with halal beef,chicken, mutton or fish / seafood. Food served was substandard and tasteless."
Plussat: "Crew was fine. Food was ok."
Miinukset: "Delay, twice - before we boarded and then again after we taxied."
Plussat: "Our connecting flight to Munich was late, but Lufthansa had a van waiting to collect us, usher us through passport control and get us to our flight to New York in time. That was a tremendous help and took a lot of stress off of the trip."
