Plussat: "We received friendly attitudes with lots of soft drinks. Upstairs in the airbus was good as my seat was near the emergency door, where I had room for my long legs. I was given aisle seats on both return flights so I could move about more. The meals were lovely. The airbus was good for peace & quiet from crying children."
Miinukset: "I had left an expensive style of neck/travel pillow i left in my Perth rental car but wasn’t supported to pick it up. I had to arrange for the car rental firm to post it. We had over 3/4 hr to fly. We were boarding. It’s a shame there wasn’t a quick way of getting my pillow to me without customs bureaucracy. It was a simple mistake. A toilet was blocked and temporarily unavailable. Some passengers were taking a long time and queues were building at different times."

Plussat: "The flight attendants waited for me at the gate since customs was backed up. They saw me running and told me it was ok. On the flight, snacks and drinks were bright by every hour or so and the meals were plenty of food and tasted good. I was given a bag with eye cover, earplugs, socks, face wipes and ear phones. Entertainment was good as well. Qatar is an amazing airline. Wish we had something like this in the States!"

However, you will not go hungry because they make sure that you stay and hydrated on their flights. I do dislike all the dogs that are allowed in planes. Now flights have babies crying coupled with dogs barking. Takes away from the overall ambiance that Qatar tries so hard to achieve."

The food on the flights was not the best, one the first one they ran out of chicken meal and only had fish left which was gross, for such a big airline you would also think they give a snack in between meals but they do not.also after giving you the food it took a long time for them to pick up the tray which I thought was unusual"

Food - my daughter could barely eat anything and the vegetarian meals were stone cold most of time. It was hard to eat at Qatar airport because not only is the food terrible (Burger King and bad Asian food) but outrageously expensive. Our media system did not work for one leg. ** way to many ads on your media system. Every time you watch a new TV episode, you have to sit through 5-6 ads for stuff that is not interesting and the same each time. ** plane info on media system keeps reverting to Arabic even when English is indicated as preferred la gauge. We had to place our iPads in checked luggage for flights from harare to USA as we went through Qatar. *** I asked for quiet seats and was given seats near kitchen and toilet even though I booked in hours in advance. One leg had my ten year old daughter and I in different rows even though I checked in 4-5 hours in advance Of flight . ** staff moved my hand luggage without my permission and without informing me - it was stressful trying to find it."

Miinukset: "They make you close all the windows and outside lights after each meal. Want you to sleep most of the time so that you may not get up and stroll around or ask the crew any extra drinks, ice creams etc."

Miinukset: "Check in staff and customer service reps were unprofessional and unhelpful. We had an 8 hour layover on both legs, no access to the lounge or a hotel was provided. I explained we were on our way to our wedding and it would be nice to have some rest. They were rude with the way they told us no, they even suggested we sleep on the floor of the airport. We ended up paying for the lounge, but then so did about 1000 other people, there was no room for us to sit together. My wife's allergy free meal wasn't provided on the first flight. We had to speak to about 5 people to get a meal ticket at the airport and they were very reluctant to give us one. I told them she was hungry and needed to eat. They told us we could take the meal we got with the ticket on board, when we went to use the ticket we had no choice in meal, were given a coke at 6am and weren't allowed to heat up our meal or take it on board. In summary, all the cabin crew on all 4 flights were excellent. Staff at Doha airport were incredibly poor."

Miinukset: "I was not notified, until I was already at JFK, about a 3hr50min delay in departure from JFK due to mechanical that happened in Istanbul many many hours before. Then the connecting flight at 11:15am IST/TLV was fully booked and I was booked only at 13:30 IST/TLV and therefore arrived more than 7 hours after my original schedule - due to a mechanical. According to IATA and international rules I am now due a full refund on my flight cost and will start proceedings against Turkish Airlines for this money. It was a nightmare for all the hours waiting. We also had to deplane in IST from the JFK flight on steps rather than into a gate!! Same with the TLV/IST flight. Terrible."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed by over two HOURS. When we got to Istanbul, our connecting flight to NY could not wait 15 MINUTES and instead left. We ended up spending 18 hours in Istanbul for the next flight. 1. The personnel at the transfer desk were rude and unhelpful when we asked questions. They seemed like they could not be bothered with our problems. 2. Turkish airlines did not even bother to help with accommodations, instead giving my wife and I a small bed to sleep in vs a hotel room. The only way to get a hotel room was to leave the airport, and we could not get Visas because we were American citizens. Turkish airlines was a very bad experience. Overall this was a poor experience, and I will not fly Turkish Airlines again. I will make sure my friends and family know that this is a poor airline with poor customer service."
Plussat: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Miinukset: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Instead of beginning boarding at the time printed on my ticket, like every other airline, boarding was completed and closed fifteen minutes before my ticket said they would start, so even though I was eight minutes early I was actually seven minutes too late. Turkish Airlines service desk took the evidence (my ticket) and then refused to rebook me, forcing me to pay $600 for a new flight and for a visa to Turkey just so I could exit through security to book & pay for it. They will not be getting any more of my business in the future!"
Plussat: "We were fed and offered drinks, given blankets, pillows and complimentary travel kits, issues with flight changes and other questions were answered quickly, ticketing was a breeze, the flight crew was extremely courteous, and flying back with my electronics was covered with professional care of my equipment and certainty that I wouldn't miss my flight."

For another, the sound did not work at my seat, so I was unable to use any of the entertainment. The flight attendant kept trying to give me different headphones...it wasn't the headphones that were the problem!! He never really addressed the issue or coordinated a possible seat change (even though there were empty seats in business class)."

Plussat: "I was upgraded to business class for this leg of my total journey. It was incredibly comfortable experience. The recliner seats with the massage feature add immensely to the overall experience."
Plussat: "The food was delicious. I have never had better airplane food. The movies were super new and interesting. I did not have time in the 11 hours of flying to watch all the movies I wanted to. The flight was also incredibly smooth."
Miinukset: "There were a few small things that could have been better (Which I'll mention), but the worst thing about the flight was the airport. Ataturk Airport is a mess. After the attempted coup, they really upped security, forcing all international flights to go through a second security screening after transferring from another airport. It's understandable but the line moved at a molasses-like speed when I had only 25 minutes to make my connecting flight. The security personnel were rude, as well. Also, when I went to make my connecting gate in Cairo, there was no one at the gate after the required boarding time (Because security had held us up), forcing some of us to board the plane without having anyone to show us onto the plane (Very scary). The flight boarding was chaotic, and no announcements were made about what we were supposed to do. Besides the lack of boarding gates, the only other serious complaint I had against Turkish Airlines (Because it really was great overall) was that the pilots and flight attendants were very hard to understand. I have taught ESL for the past 5 years, and I still had a hard time as an American understanding their English. Also, they frequently didn't understand or misunderstood questions that I would ask them. I've never had a hard time understanding flight attendants on an international flight, but I only understood about 20% of what anyone said over the loud speaker in the plane. And it's nice to be able to understand when the pilot says, "We are experiencing some turbulence and would like everyone to buckle their seatbelts until it passes." Two small things remain: 1. The bathroom trash cans were full on every flight (A small thing but makes everything feel "trashy"). 2. The flight attendants seemed unhappy, and they definitely seemed unhappy to be serving us. I can only assume they are that way because they aren't treated particularly well by their bosses."

Miinukset: "The flight from DXB was delayed, causing us to miss the connection to LIS in IST. 2 hours after standing at the transfer desk they put us on a flight to LIS via CDG. Luggage was kept in IST. Now we are in LIS with no luggage and no confirmation on its whereabouts. Lost and found staff at LIS (Portway) showed total confusion in claiming luggage was in CDG. Today two planes arrived in LIS from IST, none of them with our luggage. Screen shows my name with mention "Not loaded" regarding the luggage. This incompetence is unacceptable from "Europe's best airline". This title is misleading advertising and should not be allowed."

Miinukset: "The flight was late by over 2 hours and we missed our onward flight to San Francisco. At Istanbul, Ataturk Airport, Turkish Airline did not provide a Visa although they gave hotel and boarding passes for next days flight. At Istanbul, Ataturk airport it was a nightmare for us, as senior citizens. Why should we buy the Visa when the flight was delayed which is no fault of ours. Of the 4 automatic e-visa machines onlyEv 1 was working and there was a long queue. In between the machine stopped working for a long time and no one was there to assist or restart. They gave our boarding passes for the next days flight and their responsibility was over. We had to wait for over an hour to get the hotel. Overall it was a bad experience."

You just had to know when it's supposed to start and show up at the gate. Boarding is general, without any division by rows or groups, which means people in row 6 and in row 20 board at the same time, creating a long line. This slows down the boarding process and causes frustration in less patient people."

Miinukset: "I had a very bad experience with my trip. I was not allowed to get on the plane from miami to moscow because i did not have a russian visa, even though i had a visa for Belarus, my final destination. How would i know that the flight from russia to minsk is a domestic flight? There is no information online about needing a russian visa when being a transit passenger in Moscow. I was not offered any refund for my ticket and the cheapest option was to pay an extra 600$ and fly in 2 days to NY JFK and from there to fly to Moscow-Vilnius. My flight from Miami to JFK was very delayed with American Airlines and i missed my connection to Moscow. I had to pay another 100$ and fly the next day to Moscow. That fight was again delayed and AGAIN i missed my connection to Vilnius. I got to the gate 20min before the take off time but i was not allowed to get on the plane.I had to fly later that night. The whole trip, which was supposed to take 14 hours ended up being 4 days and almost double what I originally payed, not to mention the stress and waste of time. If i knew how the trip would pan out I would never have taken this route."

Miinukset: "We missed our connection flight in Moscow by 5 minutes, don't understand why they couldn't hold the flight for 10 people just 5 minutes when they knew we had already landed and were held in the plane because nobody was coming to open the doors. No staff waiting to help us get to the connecting flight, no information and the door had been changed. Massive queu to change flights for the following day, they promise a hotel for the night but never happened. I was flying with a child and the only thing they gave us was good voucher for around 5 pounds each not even enough for a decent meal. They said because we didn't have a visa we couldnt leave the terminal they couldn't accommodate us outside the airport and the hotel inside the airport was fully booked. Spent the night in the airport in terrible seats were you couldn't even lie down, no sleep at all. Then the morning flight was delayed 3 hours. Got, finally to Spain and one luggage was missing. Overall a nightmare! Never again I will fly with Aeroflot!"

Miinukset: "Announcements from flight deck in English very hard to impossible to understand. Most passengers are Russian. There are some differences in culture and etiquette that exist and you can either deal with them or you can't. Their norm is to be willing to stand in long lines. Personal space may be less than what we are accustomed to in US. The airline staff usually have some English but are not interested in having a discussion with you, just a couple of words. Food: passable, no more. Lady sitting next to me opened up a paper then plastic wrap, placed 2 smoked fish on a stack of napkins then proceeded to dismantle it with her fingers and eat it. It was smelly and disgusting. I commented to a flight attending that I found this impolite to inflict on other passengers - nothing was done - she didn't say a word to the passenger. I don't want to rule others but when I pay money, I don't feel that I should have no say. I might do it again but the cost difference would really have to make it worthwhile."

They do not speak English, even though they are hosting international flights. The planes are very old and overloaded with hand luggage to the point that i had to keep my trolley under my feet.
