This flight often is delayed and this was the case. The food was below average. WiFi is free but it blocks google and gmail."

Plussat: "Almost nothing, this was a terrible flight and experience! The movies were good, that's about it."
Miinukset: "No online check-in, long waiting at in-person check-in. Rude, inattentive personnel; worst is that every passenger in transit need to go through customs in Xiamen which is terribly complicated. No word about this upon booking or on Xiamen airline's website. Customs in China isn't a nice experience either. Nobody was able to find the right way for check-in, it was a mess. I will never fly again Xiamen Airlines and I recommend to everyone to avoid this airline under any circumstances."

Miinukset: "This was a discount garbage carrier. I have ridden on cargo boats off the coast of Nicaragua that I would recommend before Xiamen. They don’t give you your connecting boarding pass when you leave the country. You have to go through China’s bullshit customs service three times just to get to your next flight. Chinese customs is like a bowl full of retarted fish smelling their own farts. Six people doing nothing while one blithering idiot Stubles through paperwork."

Miinukset: "I didn’t realize that Chinese transit visa is needed to transfer at Xiamen airport. When I bought the tickets, I wasn’t notified nor advised to get the Chinese visa. The Xiamen rep at Lax didn’t let me board first and I explained and they gave me the visa waiver paperwork. It was so much of hassle. I’ve laid over many Chinese cities via different airlines and never had any problems. Will not fly again on Xiamen!!"

Miinukset: "They left my luggages at SeaTac. I am at China right now, and I don’t know when they are going send them to me. All my stuff in the luggage now I have buy everything again."
Plussat: "The flight is easy to check gave us 23kgs check in luggage 46kgs if u have intl flight. Free hotel with breakfast. Not bad at all."

Miinukset: "We meet different problem in this flight. First, the boarding start late and we arrive late more than one hour. They could organize the entrance with range of number. The food was ok, but the beverage is poor, just half glass of wine or juice. no more. one small bottle should be normal fro lunch or dinner."

Miinukset: "1. Seat cushion is too thin, resulting in painful butt after 12-14 hrs flight 2. The in-seat screen doesn't tilt, thus when front passenger reclined seat, the screen is right in front of your face (less than 5-inches). You need to crank your neck down to watch any programming which results in neck pain 3. Entertainment and food have much room to improve"

Miinukset: "My keychain was ripped off from my baggage despite me hiding it. It was stolen by their baggage handler and the airline refused to admit liability and was protecting it Staff. Xiamenair is a corrupted airline which I will not take in the future!"

Miinukset: "I called 24 hrs prior to my flight to ask for Vegetarian meal but that was not available... There was so much problem with food . And the toilets were very very dirty :("

Miinukset: "I couldn't fly because they said there was NO TRANSIT lounge in the airport and I didn't have a VISA to enter China? Who ever heard of a visa for transit?! My destination was Singapore! I am told I have to get a transit visa in order to return home and for me and my son 350!! For 2 hours transit in an airport??? This is NOT a world class airlines, they make their own rules. I will buy another ticket!!"
Plussat: "Nice and friendly. Chinese is always spoken first then followed by English. Pillow and blanket provided."
Miinukset: "Window seat on a 14 hour flight has its pros and cons. Little more room vs having to wake people up to get up and walk or go to bathroom."
Plussat: "Gave me a free hotel when I was transferring in Fuzhou. All I had to pay was the taxi fare of 20kuai. The staff are extremely nice and the food from JFK to FOC was excellent. 2 full meals and a sandwich left me pretty full."

Plussat: "Crew and staff are professional and worked well together, fairly efficient"
Miinukset: "Upon landing, there was a problem with airport customs and immigration which prevented the passengers from leaving the plane. Crew needs to be more proactive with (1) passengers getting up too early and blocking the aisle out of turn. An elder woman was trying to get her bags and exit her row and passengers from behind were not letting her collect and exit. I stopped the rude people from the back who were getting off out of turn. Instructions need to be issued, let people get off the plane in orderly fashion. and (2) crew did not inform passengers what was happening with immigration and customs holdings things up until I hit the service button a few times. Tell the passengers what is going on rather than allow tempers to heat up"
Plussat: "Flight Attendants were nice a professional Seats comfortable Meal size was quite large for economy Domestic"
Miinukset: "Check In Agent said my ticket was incorrect? Had to go to about three different desks with very limited English. Had a baggage overage that I was happy to pay for but would have had to go to another desk to pay. Would have missed my flight. Hand carried 8 pieces of dry cleaning through the Airport. Not customer saavy or friendly."
Plussat: "In-flight service were adequate. Not much offer for alcoholic beverages. Staff not much English speaking."
Miinukset: "Xiamen is very bad for transit passenger. 3 immigration check points 3 security baggage checks Has to pick up boarding pass with long lines. Cannot reserve seat on line."

Miinukset: "Lack of English or hard to understand English was a bit difficult to navigate sometimes with the airline and airports (especially I the Xiamen airport) - less of an issue for me because I'm pretty easy going and able to figure out things and plan ahead without many questions to airport or airline staff - but this could be difficult for a large amount of Non-Chinese speaking Americans with a less excited and curious outlook on travel :)"

Plussat: "The company that Kayak use for my ticket (Yayama) had some random passport number on my reservation. The ticket agent told me that I had to call to travel agent to get it changed. I tried to call three times (from China) and all three time I was put on hold to 10 to 15 minutes then disconnected. I finally got someone at the service desk to call the airline and get the passport number correct. This added over an hour to my check in process. Luckily, I arrive early and was able to make the flight, no help from Yayama. Terrible!!!!"
Miinukset: "1) I asked for a window seat so I could see Hong Kong on the air. They put me in the row in front of the wing. No window! 2) Almost constant announcements about seatbelts and electronic devices, not loud enough to actually understand, but just loud enough be annoying. 3) Flight crew go down the aisle with the grace of drunken rugby players. On the return flight I sat on the aisle and got positively battered. I don't work for an airline but I can walk up and down the aisle without touching anyone! 4) The morning meal was a bottle of water, a bruised banana and a piece of bread with what smelled like dog food inside. Revolting. The meal on the way back was ... the same! Give me real food, a snack or nothing at all. It's only an hour flight. 5) On the return flight we sat at the gate for 40 minutes. No explanation or apology. 40 minutes late on a flight that was only an hour... 6) I had to ask for an arrival card as we descended. They could have been given out while we were sitting at the gate doing nothing for 40 minutes. 7) The only "entertainment" was about 15 minutes of commercials. My boss booked this flight for me. I will not fly with them again. They were so incompetent and overmatched, on a flight that was only an hour. I was embarrassed for them."
Miinukset: "The fact that I was not able to get on my flight because I didn't have a visa after I called the airline over a week before my flight to ask about it and they told me I didn't need one. They told me I would get a temporary 72 visa upon arrival in Fuzhou but when I went to check in this was not the case. Now they won't give me any money back for that flight or the one I had to buy to get home. It was their fault I was not on the flight and they won't own up to it. I will never fly with them and I will do my best to let others know that they shouldn't either"
