Koska Splitin matkailukausi on vilkkaimmillaan kesäisin, kesän lentolippujen hinnat ovat yleensä keskimääräistä kalliimmat. Halvalla Splitiin pääsee yleensä talvisin, mutta kaupunkiin ei ole talvella tarjolla suoria lentoja. Halpoja suoria lentoja kannattaakin katsella varsinkin alkusyksyn kuukausille, jolloin sää on kaupungissa miellyttävä ja hinnat kesäkautta edullisemmat. Suora lento Helsinki-Vantaan lentokentältä Splitiin kestää noin kolme tuntia. Mikäli matkaat kaupunkiin yhden tai kahden vaihtokentän kautta, matka-aika pitenee. Välilaskullisten lentojen kesto on vähintään 4 tuntia ja 30 minuuttia, mutta yleensä matka-aika venyy ainakin 5–6 tuntiin.
Helsingistä on tarjolla suoria lentoja Splitiin kesällä ja syksyllä. Esimerkiksi suomalainen Finnair lentää kaupunkiin Helsinki-Vantaalta noin huhtikuun puolivälistä lokakuun loppuun. Norjalainen halpalentoyhtiö Norwegian puolestaan tarjoaa Splitin suorat lennot noin kesän alusta lokakuun loppuun. Miinukset: "The Senator Lounge at Vienna Airport is very poor, food selection is very limited and it is obvious that the focus is on cost saving. Another disadvantage is that the lounge only opens at 5.30am in the morning but first flight already leave Vienna around 6am. Mine was at 7.05am which meant that I just arrived when the lounge opened and I had to wait in a long cue. Boarding was due to the limited space in front of the gate a mess, priority boarding was announced but I was not made sure that priority passengers board first. The seats on board are for business to small and there is not even space to hag up the coat."

Miinukset: "KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight."
Plussat: "Crew was friendly, and the food was better than the usual KLM fare."
Miinukset: "The "new" seats were hard and uncomfortable. Avoid any kinds of seats near the bathroom in a configuration with 3 abreast next to the windows. The "aisle" seat is essentially a "waiting area" for the rest room."

Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

Sent me to the sales rep where I was told my only option was to switch to the same flight the following day, but that would cost me an additional 630€. I ended up stuck in Barcelona overnight and found a cheaper flight home with British Airways/American Airlines."

The name on the flight reservation was Jim; the name on my passport is Francis James Donnellan. They charged me $60 to correct what they perceived as an inconsistency between the two documents. I found this frankly quite bizarre. I have literally flown around the world; I've taken many flights to Europe, the Far East, across the country, etc. and have never run into this as a problem. Over 50 years of travel, to be charged $60 by Norwegian for a perceived name inconsistency struck me as odd to say the least. Primera handled this "problem" without a charge and with a much better and more positive attitude toward it. Norwegian did not give an explanation as to why this was such an issue; the key point made was that James was not the same as Jim. Again, nothing in my experience suggested that there should be a problem here. My father's middle name was James, and he was always called Jim. Same with me. If they are in fact two different names as was suggested by Norwegian, no one over of my 75 years of life ever called attention to it. I wonder what would've happened if I had been referred to throughout my life as Frank, with the name on my birth certificate being Francis."

The airline neglected to offload my checked luggage, refused to do accommodate me with a change fee and now has lost my bag and has no idea where it is."
Plussat: "I believe the only thing I did like about the trip was the easement of getting checked to board the plane. Other than that, maybe just the price of my flight."
Miinukset: "Where to begin, first of all the flight was delayed. And not just one or two hours, but almost 5 hours! The communication from the boarding crew was atrocious, as they did not keep us informed until maybe an hour after the fact that it was already delayed. After finally being cleared to board we were all cramped and rushed on a shuttle from the waiting area to the plane. I've been on cramped planes before, but maybe not this badly. I received a middle seat, which was alright, but the amount of space to move around in was unacceptable. I attempted to load my carry on in the storage compartment overhead but it was all taken up. That made matters worse in terms of having space to stretch my feet out, as the person's next to me were not the kindest and kept cramping me even more. The delaying of my flight made me miss my check in to my hotel two hours later. I lost most of my day I'm being able to have free time before the check in due to it. Overall, I was not satisfied one bit with the airline service. I just hope that my return flight is a more pleasant one."

Flight attendants basically ignore you the whole flight unless you purchase on the flight or in advance. Very poor choice of movies, all old movies. And no WiFi whatsoever. All of these are major inclusions on trans-Atlantic flights, and were not visible when purchasing this flight. I thought it sounded too good to be true. To be honest, if this were all included up front, I couldve brought on-board food and drink for the flight. I dont like being nickel and dimed on everything. Charging over $50 for a checked in bag is ridiculous. At least if it were for $25 like every other flight, I wouldnt of minded."

Pillows, blankets, earphones, eye masks, toothbrush and paste. A couple of meals and a couple of snacks. Free drinks which they must have come by 8 times during the flight. Those flight attendants were working most of the flight and were very friendly. No so with your company."

Plussat: "Every trans-Atlantic flight I've had with Norwegian has been on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which is an incredibly comfortable airplane compared to current standards. Ventilation and lighting are superior in a way that I doubt can be corrected on older aircraft. Norwegian's crew are *superb*. I've never had such snappy service on an aircraft; ordering via the built-in touchscreens is quick and straightforward. Also, I pre-bought the meal for a 7-hour flight, and it also came with a snack near the end, and each came with a drink."

She stated that I needed to reserve my Gluten Free option 72 hours in advance and that a salad was not available. So I ate my snack of a nuts for an 8.5 hour flight. This is a HUGE disservice to those who have allergies! Because of this...I will no longer fly with Norwegian!"
Miinukset: "Maintenance work caused major delays on my flight back to New York from London. The gate crew was misinformed as well as the main terminal agents as to how long the delay would be. The airport is extremely inefficient for this poor communication as every time we needed to get something we were forced to walk forever between the gate and the main terminal screens. Just a big mess all around. To top it off, we had turbulence coming into New York which made a nearby passenger sick so the flight smelled awful. This is my first and hopefully last time flying Norwegian through Gatwick."
Plussat: "I got a great deal on this flight so I guess that I shouldn't complain but I could not check in online which meant I had to go to the airport quite early (4 hours before the flight) to get a decent seat. The staff at the counter was fabulous. My seat was comfortable and the entertainment variety was great."
