Miinukset: "I did not enjoy sitting right at the back (back seat). It was very cramped and noisy as people were constantly using the toilets. But not only that, there was a passenger seated in the middle seat who was not well and she kept feeling nausea and wanting help but the crew did not know what else to do having asked if there was a doctor on board. But they were not very gentle with her in their responses. I am not sure if this had anything to do with the fact that she was a muslim dressed in traditional gear."

Miinukset: "The loading process was very long and delayed the flight. It was also very warm on the flight...uncomfortably so."
Miinukset: "The flight left early, without me. Instead of beginning boarding at the time printed on my ticket, like every other airline, boarding was completed and closed fifteen minutes before my ticket said they would start, so even though I was eight minutes early I was actually seven minutes too late. Turkish Airlines service desk took the evidence (my ticket) and then refused to rebook me, forcing me to pay $600 for a new flight and for a visa to Turkey just so I could exit through security to book & pay for it. They will not be getting any more of my business in the future!"

Plussat: "The flight and crew were fine. The food and drinks are free, which I wish some US carriers would take note of and adopt."
Miinukset: "New US regulations requiring tablets and laptops to be stored in checked baggage were not relayed to me. I booked the trip in February and the new regulations went into effect in March, but I was never notified. When we got to Istanbul from Brussels and made our way to the gate, we had to go through a security checkpoint where I was informed that my tablets would be confiscated and given back to me once we landed. They had a claim area set up next to our baggage claim turn-style to get tablets and laptops back, but it took us 30 mintues to get our tablets (only 5 mintues to get our baggage). Again, I realize they're only doing their jobs and this regulation is new, but the system they put in place for it and their total lack of communication for customers who had already booked trips was awful. Also, at the checkpoint I was told my tablets would be confiscated and my passport had a sticker put on it. I moved down the line where I was told they would take my tablets and the next guy told me I was clear to go. I asked for verification and he ushered me along, so along I went. Then, while sitting in the plane waiting to leave, a group of 5 or 6 people came on board and searched me out, saying they didn't have a record of my tablets being handed over. I told them I was told to move on at the second checkpoint and they gave me a look as though I was lying, but then said it wasn't my fault and made me retrieve them from my bag and hand them over. It wasn't a huge deal, but it sure did make me look like an idiot in front of everyone else on the flight who could see it happen. The whole reason we brought our tablets was to read books on the flight, and a 13 hour flight doesn't exactly go by quickly. I udnerstand they're just doing their job, but they should have sent an update to people on these flights."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed but that wasn't the main problem. Went to the wrong gate for my connecting flight, Turkish air rep at the gate checked my boarding pass, didn't say a word about me being at the wrong gate. Tgere was no announcement of any kind (found out later, Turkish sir doesn't do announcement at the Istanbul airport. No clue as to why). Thought, tgere was another delay and by the time I asked, it was too late to catch my flight and that's when I got a full dose of every single person w Turkish air trying to stiff me with the most outrageous penalty for changing Nguyen my ticket. Started out at $1114 on a $758 ticket, then went down to $925 and if I stay over night, down to $750. Seriously? Rude, talking down at me and telling me that if I don't pay the penalty, my return ticket will be cancelled. I keep getting bounced from one person to another being told to wait here and wait there then I finally got so sick of all of it, bought a new connecting flight online, spending the night in Istanbul and will see what will happen w my return flight to the US. I call this 'theft' as, if i buy an entire new ticket from Istanbul to Cairo then back to the US online, it will cost me less than the penalty they're trying to get me to pay. Shame on you Turkish airline!! You'd think w all the issues they're having w tourism in their country these days they'd care about not doing this kind of mistreatment of their clients."
Plussat: "There was a delay in take off over 54 minutes. We had only 30 minutes to catch the connection flight at Istanbul airport and no one guide us in the airport to which gate we have to go. It was very hard for my wife to run with me all the way to the next gate (she is diabetic)."
Plussat: "We boarded on time, very well run, the food was great, great movie choice"
Miinukset: "The seats could use upgrading. I've flown aturkish quite a bit. Some planes have comfy seats, some are very still"
Plussat: "Turkish Airways service is very good -- good staff, clean airplane, attentive service"
Miinukset: "The airport really lacks seating for its passengers in the general areas. You need to sit in a restaurant to rest your feet as waits are quite long between flights. Another problem is the lack of internet for passengers without Turkish cell accounts. This should be corrected."

Miinukset: "Boarding process is terrible. International transfers are utterly chaotic and there is a tremendous language problem that complicates every single issue."

Miinukset: "Flight was delayed due to weather in Istanbul, information provided to passengers about delay and options was nonexistent"

Miinukset: "Thé flight was full and I felt as if I was in a can of sardines!!! The plane is old and the video system did not function well!"

Plussat: "The space between the seats in Business Class is phenomenal - most space i can recall in Business Class. The lay flat feature of the seat is also great."
Miinukset: "They put some spice, don't know which one, in almost all the meat dishes and unfortunately I don't like the spice. The mushroom, potato omelette was an egg omelette laying on top of canned mushrooms and a potato cake laying on the side. This is not a potato, mushroom omelette by American standards. The amounts of food are phenomenal and I couldn't eat all they offered."
Plussat: "Good service, good food!! I will use Turkish air again."

Plussat: "The staff were helpful, the food was it's usual high quality and it was possible to grab a a snack or drink during flight if you wanted one without bothering the flight crew"
Miinukset: "I found the announcements at the start of the flight a little annoying as they were timed to continually interrupt the films I'd chosen, but I prefer that to not being able to start a film while taxiing."
Plussat: "Crew were pleasant and did a superb job of making passengers feel welcome."
Miinukset: "My gripe is mostly with the ground staff. I was happily sitting in the lounge drinking copious amounts of hot tea due to an illness when my flights status changed on the monitor; "go to gate", it read. When I dutifully arrived at the gate, what was happening? Absolutely nothing. I sat there shivering for another 30 mins before boarding, my heat source (the tea) removed. The moral of the story is that a passenger's time has value, DO NOT waste it. In my case, the cost was physical agony of freezing on a mediterranean island in the summer while wearing 2 shirts, long pants, and double socks. If the ground staff did everything to procedure and are thus faultless, then the procedure is reprehensible and should be updated."

Miinukset: "Dirty! in seat pockets had trash on two flight in both my seat and wives seat. The tvs in the seats were filthy, hazy, smudgy. Just didn't look like they clean well in between flights"

Miinukset: "No AC while passengers on board waiting for take off. It lasted about half an hour. people were forced to use airline magazines as fans. No TV news or sport to watch Toilet was not clean. My seat can recline easily without pushing the recline bottom. This was a connection flight. Passengers had to go through 4 check points. Too much redundant. At the last check point, 4 gates shared the same check point. We saw a line but no sign for it. So we went to the front to find out what the line was for and went back to join the line for security check. There were people who did the same thing but tried to cut in the line right at the check point, creating chaos."

Miinukset: "Seats too close together. Also -- and VERY important -- they are so close together that they shouldn't be allowed to tilt back and press further into the person n the back's knees. NOTE: Turkish Airlines is, by far, not alone with this problem. Airlines have jammed too many seats in the plane. Increase fares a tad and give more knee space."
Plussat: "I was pleased with the food. It was plentiful and varied. I appreciated that the cabin lighting was increased gradually allowing people to wake up gradually instead of abruptly."
Miinukset: "The seats were very close. The seats were not well padded. The bathroom trash was overflowing."

Plussat: "Nothing. I missed my original connection because the flight from Budapest was late and I was put in a cramped middle seat while there were seats open in First Class. I should have been upgraded"

Have to ask around airport and nobody seems to know exactly when United will open for checkin. Discover next morning it is only 2 hrs before flight, 1.5 hrs before boarding. Lufthansa made no effort to pass along their connecting flight information, they just drop all responsibility and say it is a United flight so offer no help. First and last time with Lufthansa."

Miinukset: "My wifes luggage was lost, no followup at all from Lufthansa (main) or in Seville which was our destination. We had to call to find out any information. Once the bag was found and delivered to Seville, Lufthansa personnel again did not tell us nor would they deliver the bag to our hotel as the driver had already left. We then had to wait another day to have the bag delivered to Granada. Terrible customer service, the bag was missing for four days causing us to spend time shopping for clothes rather than experiencing the city."
