Crew is very friendly and helpful at the same time. Slippers and socks they give you in economy class + cotton blanket of course make you feel you are 1st class traveler. What else? Everyone was in waiting area then told to get out and stand in line for passport check. It happened each time so this seems to be their normal process. On flight back they bused us to the airplane and waited for all three buses to arrive at the airplane before allowing anyone to board. Flight attendants helped with moving carry on bags in bins but with little consideration to the items. Completely unorganized boarding process to the point it is worth paying a little more to fly a different airline."

I would like the Gold members to go first with either a bus of their own to at least with part of the bus reserved and we are allowed first on the plane."
Plussat: "Very little. I had heard that the food was better than United but I do not believe it is now that I have made six legs of travel and two of them over 13 hours."
Miinukset: "Turkish Airlines basically give minimal benefit to Star Alliance Gold members. Access to the lounge was given finally after I produced my physical Gold card even though I gave them my UA number. There are no ticketing agents in the Istanbul Airport within the secured area. I was not comfortable going outside security and then back again through security to upgrade my ticket. Agents at Turkish Airlines CIP NOT helpful."
Plussat: "Because it was my first time on Turkish Airlines I was a bit apprehensive but the experience was very positive. The crew was friendly, the service good, the food very good and the entertainment excellent. All my flights left on time and arrive on time or earlier. The airplane, an Airbus 300, was new and comfortable."
Miinukset: "The boarding process at Istanbul was a bit chaotic but the flight left on time. I guess the airport personnel knew what they were doing. Istanbul airport is big and modern. There a lot of nice shops, including Duty Free. One annoying thing was the large number of airport employees using these motorized transports, I.e. wheelchairs, bipeds, tricycles, etc, going at high speed. If you don't get out of their way they will run you over!"

Laying down was still a bit tight due to the armrests remaining in the same position. The crew was extremely nice and always helpful. The Turkish Air lounge on Istanbul is great and makes the united lounge in SFO look like a soup kitchen. I would fly Turkish air again."

There was a pretty long stretch of bad turbulence and the pilot talked to us to let us know what's going on and reassure us, which, as someone who freaks out in these situations, I really appreciate. Honestly, I didn’t expect this from Lufthansa and am very disappointed."

The outlets for charging phones and computers were out of service in my row, the wifi was inoperative for the entire flight, the entertainment system seized up every 10-15 seconds. The accessories were entirely neglected. It was rather pathetic in that regard, and the food was gross."

Plussat: "I like to fly LH on the BOS to FRA route as they are the only carrier to fly this route nonstop. Usually the service is quite good. The crew is attentive, offers water or juice repeatedly, gives you a warm moist handcloth before the mealservice to clean your hands. Check-in in FRa can be tedious becaiuse of long lines."
Miinukset: "LH experienced several strikes in the last two years or so. Once I had to stay an extra day, this time I had to cut a family visit a day short. While they handled the rebooking in both cases quite efficiently, not everyone might have the flexibility to change days so easily. It is also disappointing when one has to give up on a planned activity to make it back home on time. Movie selection could be updated and I miss having an actual newspaper or magazine to read on the long flight. Will have to pack my own oin the future."

Miinukset: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Miinukset: "Per usual, KLM can't seem to figure out the order of boarding the plane. Should be business - priority - everyone else. Instead they do priority first, and that's usually two-thirds of the passengers. Strange choice of in-flight movies; no accounting for taste, I guess."

Miinukset: "They didn’t let us board the plane. Allegedly the plane was changed and make us travel by train!! They offered us a compensation but we haven’t heard from them yet. Not good experience at all."

Miinukset: "KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight."

Miinukset: "The only complaint I have regarding my most recent flight was the incredibly rude service staff whom we experienced at the front counter at check-in. After a harrowing cab ride to the airport in which our driver continuously ignored my request to follow the GPS insisting that he knew faster shortcuts, we arrived 40 minutes later than intended. Additionally he dropped us off at the wrong terminal such that we finally arrived at the KLM gate an hour later than we had planned. This was especially frustrating as we are traveling with two small children and made every effort to be punctual and leave early to be sure we got there with time to spare. Not the case today. All of that I could deal with, but when we arrived at the KLM counter, and I apologized to the attendant staff member that we were late and explained that our cab driver got lost, she responded by chastising us first in Spanish and then in broken English. She made sure to make it clear to us that it was our fault and we should not blame the Argentinian cabdriver. The cabdriver was not actually Argentinian, but that is totally besides the point. I was totally taken aback to be treated so rudely as a greeting at the airline counter. My wife share the same sentiment. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. Thank God, every single airport personnel and of course KLM staff member on board was incredibly kind and accommodating of our children subsequent to this. It saved what otherwise could've been a terrible experience."
Plussat: "They flew full speed to catch up with the delays."
Miinukset: "Departure was scheduled with one hour delay. When everyone was boarded they mentioned a leaking toilet. It took them 1,5 hours to disable the toilet. In the mean time, no drinks, no snacks, nothing. So we should depart at 18:00 but it became 19:30. Our first drinks and meal was no earlier then 21:00. The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."

I had to run to catch the flight to Bucharest. At CDC there were only two custom officers for checking passport of EU citizens, on a Saturday morning with hundreds and hundreds incoming travelers. On top of it, one female officer was rude. Typical french :("

Miinukset: "Had to use a shoe horn to get into and out of my seat and I'm not a large guy. But really my harsh criticism comes from the loss of my girlfriends luggage. It was left behind in Paris on our way to Casablanca causing us to waste a day in Casablanca traveling back to the airport the grab the bag the next day. And to add injury to insult her bag was left behind in JFK during our transfer for our flight to Seattle. No big deal right, Delta will deliver the bag to our house the next day, wrong, we were told we have to go to the airport ourselves to get the bag."

This is very inconvenient when deboarding because I have to wait for many others to pass before I get a chance to walk towards the back of the plane to get my luggage."
Miinukset: "Staff where so unhelpful that I missed my flight and then refused to offer any assistance as to how I could remedy this situation. This cost me over €180 which is a weeks food and stay for me. Don't fly with these guys or with air Croatia."
Miinukset: "It is very difficult to get around CDG airport with a disabled person. There is no shuttle. By the time we got to check in, we were ten minutes late. They would not check us in, and we paid over $700 to change tickets to the next flight. When I complained, I was told to stop being rude or I would get no ticket at all. My mother is 94 years old and we did the best we could given the circumstance."

Miinukset: "Boarding was a complete debacle - no control over who went where. Sky Priority line was full of 50 people who weren't Sky Priority, and there was only one person checking passports. The two people at the desk didn't care when I noted this. We were called to the desk in advance of boarding to check passport information. When we got to the check in line, we were taken aside for more passport checking, even though we are US citizens with Trusted Traveler status in the GOES program. We were one of the first people at the departure lounge, and one of the the last to board."

Miinukset: "At one point during the flight I took a video out of my window with my camera, a member of the cabin crew barked at me in French. In bewilderment I asked her in English to repeat herself and she sarcastically repeated what she had said, in French, I asked for her to speak in English (which she had done to me previously on this Paris to London flight) yet again she scolded me in French. I was left absolutely none the wiser and it left a bad taste in my mouth."

Ultimately, I was placed on the flight, but had to rush to every single one of my four connecting flights. I am a frequent traveler but this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Avianca should be embarrassed to be associated with star alliances."

Eventually, after about 6 minutes, he managed to control his breathing and still no flight attendant to be seen. Only after 20 minutes while distributing the meals, one of the attendants shuts the call sign of and continues. This is not the service we usually get from Avianca!"

Miinukset: "AA used too small of a jet for the cross atlantic flight. Therefore, we had to stop in Bangor, ME to refuel before landing in JFK. We landed in JFK 1.5 hours late as a result. Those of us who had a connecting flight to ORD as the final destination had our luggage lost. When explaining the refuel in Bangor, the flight attendants were very condescending, rude, and one raised her voices in an aggressive way (while the passenger I witnessed did not). This particular flight attendant must have been personally upset by the delay the refuel caused, because she made sure she was the first to get off the plane. I fly internationally at least twice per year for the past several years, and I was horrified by the entire flight. I will now know better to pay a bit more for another carrier."
