The delay was 6 and half hours… They didn’t provide any comfortable space to stay. We needed to worry about PCR test and everything, so at least they could provide reasonable offers which is that we could use JAL lounge or somewhere we could relax and stay.

I like the variety of food choices and some of the dishes were delicious (salmon and rice). The seats are pretty comfortable. They aren't great for sleeping in, but the flight was decently quiet and dark for some time. I would recommend bringing a pair of earplugs and a neck pillow."
Miinukset: "The bread could be better. I would have the bread be softer and warm. A warm croissant as a substitute would be amazing.The butter could be softer (like margarine) so that way it can actually be spread onto the bread."

Miinukset: "We were informed our flight was not to land in Haneda but at Narita. We specifically picked that flight pattern because of the ease of traveling from Hawaii to Haneda to Naha. We wouldn't have to drag two large suitcases and a rollaboard after checking out of customs and immigration very far. Same airport to land and depart. Well the arrival airport was changed to Narita $32.00 per person for Airport Limobus to Haneda. We get off at Haneda and are informed we cannot stay there and wait at the domestic airport for our 6:25 am flight to Naha. We had to load all 6 pieces of luggage on the shuttle bus and transfer to the international terminal because they close the domestic terminal at midnight. There was no hotel accommodations at the domestic airport as the hotel was booked two months in advance!!! We had to wait at the international airport terminal till 4:30 am when we then transferred back to the domestic terminal with our 6 pieces of luggage. Tell me how happy you'd be!!!"
Miinukset: "Although, i booked businesss class l. I had to pay 1000 yen for each flight for seat selection. (They were giving me seats 50C) And no lounge facility either. All i got was 2000 yen and upgrade to J class. I had already paid extra for business class. This is highway robbery. No thanks JAL"
Plussat: "JAL 787 Coach Product is better than AA Coach 777 product. Wider Coach seats. 787 aircraft is more comfortable overall (less noisy, higher humidity, higher pressure) resulting in a better experience after my travel."
Miinukset: "Meals are not fantastic; they never seem to be in coach. Much of the entertainment seemed similar to what was on the same aircraft when I traveled three months earlier."

It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."

I didn't pay a few hundred dollars extra for this."

They were very responsive to any time i needed help . And the food was amazing . Even the economy class gets gourmet meals . Also the entertainment was quite good . They have big tv screen for each seat and have all sorts of shows and movies from international to hollywood . And have games for kids ... Overall i was very pleased with my flight ."

Plussat: "I booked a round trip flight from IAD to NUE with stay over in IST. Try to make change flight date IST to NUE. I was told by the Turkish air agent to buy a new on way ticket from IST to NUE and use the origenal ticket from NUE to IAD and I did. The the nightmare begun when I try to get back to back to iAD. I was told my ticket was cancelled and have to buy new ticket. After 7 hrs exosting fight and inconvenience when they found out that I was not easily going to be hustled out $1100+ they finally reissued my tickets. During this time I witnessed how 10-20 customers old and young were being hustled for more money and some crying out of frustration. It was one of the worst experience I've had in my 45+yrs traveling experience."
Miinukset: "Customer service training. Mgmt must be involved in problem solving rather than sending customers to a phone both some of it that doesn't work to talk to folks that don't know what they're doing nor have the authority to mak decision."
Plussat: "The service was outstanding, this is one of the best airlines I have ever flewn. Considering its elegancy and exquisite service. My twelve hours from Miami to Istanbul turned out to be less because of the amazing service I recieved. Very happy that this airline exist and cannot wait to go back and experience this great airline again."

Miinukset: "The pre-boarding experience was bad and at times a little arrogant as well. I boarded Turkish three times, once in San Francisco, second in Istanbul and third in Barcelona. While the experience of boarding the flight was good in Barcelona, the crew sitting at the flight information desk in Istanbul and the crew sitting on the counter wasn't very helpful and plain arrogant at times. This was the crew providing information in Istanbul: Me: Hi, could you please tell me the meal plan selected for my next flight? Crew: (shouting) You dont have a connecting flight hence no meal is provided to you. What are you doing here you should be at your terminal immediately. Next!! (I was 8 min away from my terminal and asking this question 30 minuted before my boarding time). After handing her my passport, this was the lady who greeted me at the check-in counter in San Francisco: Lady: Is Istanbul your final destination Me: Actually I have flights from Istanbul to Barcelona and then later to (interrupted) Lady: Sir, your final destination is Istanbul (harsher tone). Me: (Not sure what to make out of that information) Could you check because I have booked some more flights later. Lady: (laughing at me now) Do you understand what I said, your flight destination is Istanbul. Lady: (Now I was a little angry because of the language and the tone) Ok whatever check me in. She now starts processing my check-in. Suddenly starts smiling to the other passenger on my right. Gets up starts talking to them. Comes back after a couple of minutes. Then she checks the other flights Lady: You have a flight after two days to Barcelona. Do you have a visa for that? Me: Yes. And then we just leave without saying anything else. I later found out what she meant. Rule says I have to check-out my bags whenever I have a flight after 24 hours and therefore my final destination was Istanbul. There was a better way to tell us about this for sure."

Plussat: "The people who work for Lufthansa are the nicest i’ve met, on par with Turkish airlines. The times for boarding and departure were respected, the flight crew was extra nice, even accommodating requests that gave them extra-work. Economy passengers were treated like first class in terms of service and solicitude of the crew. Headphones, blankets, pillows were offered free of charge, so we’re the food and drinks, and there was a good selection of movies and music. On a 770$ ticket, mind you! The crew will come by repeatedly to check if passengers desired some more wine or coffee, offered water and juices on a tray several times outside the regular service times, and cared for the families with children. Thumbs up!"
Miinukset: "The warm food was a bit unappetizing, the potatoes for instance were black, but there is nothing that the crew could do better than offer to replace it. Such graceful approach to a little inconvenience!"

Plussat: "The plane was very clean and I appreciated when the crew asked passengers have their seats in a normal upright position during meal times as there is very little space when the seats are reclined. We can hardly get out of our seats when other passengers need to go to the restrooms."
Miinukset: "The crew was rather cold; I got the feeling they were doing their jobs but not in a warm and customer friendly oriented way, may be because I was in Economy. I was surprised by the lack of space in economy for such a long Haul flight in an A 380."
Plussat: "Bag drop in Hamburg for flight to Frankfurt and then connecting to San Francisco was the quickest I have ever experienced. I think the check in app captures all the info needed so well that when you drop your bag, my passport was checked and that was it. Done in 3 minutes. Flight is only 80 minutes and drink and snack offered."

They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."

Made two phone calls to the airline prior to my scheduled trip to attempt a seat upgrade but they told me I would have to do this at the airport where of course no upgrades were available"
Miinukset: "We were detained at the airport after boarding and then deboarding without information. The entire flight was locked in a room and not allowed to leave with very little explanation as to why. After 5 hours they let us board another plane. There was water and candy supplied as food. It was a joke for anyone with kids or the elderly. Nevermind anyone with health concerns. BAD way to manage a crisis in my opinion. We were treated like cattle. And these were NOT cheap tickets."

Plussat: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"
Miinukset: "Boarding in Zurich is tough for infrequent travelers because all the desks say SWISS. And it took me a long time to realize that SWISS handled many airlines. Perhaps the signs could be bigger."

Miinukset: "After priority passengers boarded the aircraft, boarding for everyone else was a free for all. It would be more orderly if there were clear lines and groupings of rows beginning at the rear were called. Movie selection was not great. Many choices were old. Few were current."

Plussat: "I witnessed the flight crew defuse a conflict between two male passengers (that had escalated to shouting and throwing each others belongings out of overhead storage) before we left Frankfurt. A male steward showed he could be professionally stern when backing up a female coworker handling the situation and compassionate when he comforted an elderly woman in distress halfway through the intercontinental flight. The entire crew I interacted with in economy class were professional, friendly, welcoming, and helpful."
Miinukset: "Boarding the entire plane at once was inefficient and caused conflicts over the availability of overhead storage. Obviously this is an airline decision and not a flight specific problem."
Miinukset: "No seating area at or near the gate we boarded at, and as boarding was delayed, many people ended up standing for some time because we did not wish to wander too far and then be late for boarding."

Miinukset: "The seat pitch is inhumane. I could barely fit into the seat without hitting my knees on the seat in front. And that was before the person ahead of me reclined. It's not like Lufthansa is a budget airline. It's a full-fledged major carrier charging full-fledged prices. Seriously, I was expecting more."
Plussat: "Crew worked hard to make the journey pleasant, including the second crew for my connection to New York JFK, a much longer flight. Even some of the food was edible."

Plussat: "We are extremely grateful to Lufthansa and Munich airport administration for organization of the transfer between connected flights wit a short connection time. We have had only 40 minutes transfer time between flights from Budapest and to Washington DC, and started to worry that we may not make it since the boarding was in the opposite part of the waste airport. So, it was a great relief when we saw the airport representative meeting us at the exit from Budapest plane to lead toward the Washington DC flight gate. In 30 minutes we were in our plane to continue flight to the US. Thank you so much!"
Fare difference was really bad almost double than my regular fare never fly again
Overall experience except baggage collection in Chicago was good. In Chicago, baggages from many flights routed to single domestic carousel that had caused lots of mess and many had to wait for more than 90 minutes to collect the baggage as Etihad baggages were released in pockets due to priorities given to other domestic flights baggage

Miinukset: "We lost an item and while we are in airport waiting for next flight even though we know it would have got recovered by airport staff there is no way of getting it back unless we download a form online , print , fill the form and sign , scan and send it in email to lost and found team. This is unlikely and complex process for anyone while in airport to get access to print, scan etc. we wish this was more simpler process Cabin was too cold and staff deny bluntly to make any adjustment saying some other set of passengers complained that cabin is warm.. I have not seen anyone who could sit around with out blanket on them and we had to get double blankets and wrap ourselves in there"

Miinukset: "The seats were minuscule...the depth was narrower than when Id previously used different airlines. The space between rows was also compromised. I think that the Dreamliner is even more streamlined with less space so they can put more passengers on! The toilet kept flushing when seated on it! The food was repetitive - ordered Asian Veg and got almost the same food for 3 meals. The dessert was exactly the same 1 piece of melon and 2 cubes pineapple. The male crew member did not want to be there. He grunted at the passengers. He was annoyed and when clearing food trays dropped it and aI wore custard all over me and the armrest of my seat. Fortunately I had a blanket covering me so it all landed on that. He was more upset that it also splattered him."

Entertainment system was hard to use due to the person in front of me leaning their chair back the whole time so the screen was in my face."

Miinukset: "Boarding was a chaos at the Abu Dhabi airport, they were just calling out for the Business Class and passengers who are disabled and those who are travelling with children to board first when everybody came to line up. Nobody from the ground staff even asked them to give way for those who are boarding first or announced what zone are they boarding next. Also, i used the mobile app to check in, i am definitely sure i chose an isle seat (you can see it on the seat map during online check in) but i was surprised to see that i got a window seat."

Will never fly either of these airlines again, and am currently seeking repayment for my unintended 4 day stay in Seoul"

Business class passengers were not given priority boarding and were forced to stand in long ques in the heat and to be squeezed into a bus with all the others. This happened both in my outbound and return flights. This meant queing in the heat out on the tarmac with the economy passengers."
Plussat: "I've flown more than 9 different airways on international flights; Etihad has probably the best economy seats and in flight entertainment with large movie collection."
Miinukset: "Etihad overbooked me along with more than a dozen other passengers on a 14-hour international flight. Apparently Etihad decides on who gets left behind. Etihad's "Transit Travelers" service is one of the WORST customer service desks I've ever been to. I waited in line for 2 hours. Passengers were urging to be served so they can make it to their connecting flights not knowing they have been already selected not to board those plains. Voices were raised and demands were made to speak to the supervisor. It was chaos. I made it to the agent shortly after the gate to my flight had opened. I was shocked by how the agent lacked empathy when he informed me I won't make it to the connecting flight because it had been overbooked. Not an apology or even sir! I was forced to be rerouted which stretches my 25-hour trip to 33 hours. Then the connecting flight gets delayed more than an hour resulting in missing the second connecting flight. Now my trip has become a 41-hour trip, I missed a day of work that's worth more than double the value of the voucher Etihad gave me and lost one day of unscheduled vacation. Etihad even damages my bag that had servived more than 10 flights. I will never fly Etihad and strongly recommend against flying with Etihad."

Miinukset: "They changed the departure time of my flight 3 times for no apparent reason. Upon calling them to inquire and confirm departure time, I received "confirmed" times from three different employee's that were all different. I spent a total of 88 minutes on the phone with them incurring long distance calling fees. Then, once settled, my layover went from 2.5 hours to 7 hours. They offered NOTHING to remedy this fault. Oy, first and LAST time I fly Etihad."
