"The food was great"

Miinukset: "In both 10 hour trips to and from US to Turkey my seats were broken and didn’t recline, which made for an uncomfortable trip."

Miinukset: "Priority boarding was messed-up - no queue discipline was even attempted by the gate staff. The business class seats were uncomfortable and not comfortable to sleep in. The footrest was not long enough and the feet were dangling in the air. The blanket and bedding was provided almost 3 hours after take-off Worst of all was baggage handling. Our luggage was severely damaged. The handle to the suitcases was torn off. In addition the bags and the contents were wet when we received them in Boston. IT had been raining in Istanbul and it seems the bags were left out in the open. I've been trying to get Turkish to repair the torn-off handles but I'm constantly hitting a wall. I have filed a claim but the support staff sends extremely brief denials with no explanation."

Miinukset: "This’s the worse airlines that I ever use in my life, in my way back to Boston I get to the airport 2 and half hours before my flight, it was so crowded outside the door, so I didn’t get to check in till like an hour and 10 minutes, Guess what! They didn’t let me in because they close the gate they said?? They have me payed for another thicket to I take the next flight They are so weird, even when you called the customers service they will do nothing for you, like they don’t live in our planet!! Trust me stay away from this turkish airlines"

Miinukset: "I wish there would be more leg space. Had to use all my power to get the seat to recline. And the movie options were very less and harldy any light and entertaining movies were avilable."

Plussat: "Very attentive staff who gave us an extra meal and checked in on us while my girlfriend was sick from food poisoning the day before."
Miinukset: "Far too few agents at check in. The signage wasn't clear and we waited in line for 15 minutes before realizing we had to be in a different line, for which there was only one attendant checking in for three different flights all leaving at the same time. When there are three layers of security at Attaturk airport, everyone waiting to check in were rightfully worried they may miss their flight."

Plussat: "The actually flight was great- food and crew were very good and professional."
Miinukset: "Turkish airlines in Istanbul this last trip was the most disorganized and rudest I've yet to experience. They were incredibly disorganized and unhelpful. It was 5am with hoards of people waiting just to go through a tiny security because they closed the entrance for international transfers. No lines and direction whatsoever. It took two hours just to go through simple sercurity. My flight gate, number, and info to Boston was not even posted on the departure screen so I almost missed my flight- I had to go multiple times across the airport to find anyone to ask. The employees were rude and unhelpful. They did not assist or direct anyone or any of the chaos and they were slow and lacked any understanding to people whose flight was ten minutes till take off. Really unimpressed and highly considering avoiding taking them again to the Middle East in the future."

Plussat: "Crew was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The flight was very comfortable. Everything was done in a timely manner."
Miinukset: "As a business class passenger I wish our boarding process could have been better and perhaps separated from coach."

Plussat: "I liked the idea of offering a tour of Istanbul during long connections that Turkish airlines offer. The tour that I went on was a 2.5 hour bus ride with sightseeing from the window mostly - still it was very nice. The people organizing passengers in groups for the tour in the airport however were not so nice. When I said "I have a question", the guy literally ROLLED HIS EYES at me."
Miinukset: "The crew was somewhat rude and unwelcoming, both in the plane and on the ground. The seat is not comfortable in comparison with other transatlantic flights - somehow the crew and the seats were so much better on my connecting TK flight within Europe."

Plussat: "Excellent service, entertainment, the food and drink options were good and a 10 hour flight was made as comfortable as can be."

My grandmother needed a wheel chair and the lady who took her did not allow any of us to stay with her , mind you my grandmother can't speak English. The lady also told us that she didn't need the passport or her boarding pass ??? Because of that my grandmother almost got lost , we had to wait for her for an eternity. She got very scared and very upset for what you guys did . She is an old lady and it was one of her worst experiences of her life"

Plussat: "We liked being in Exit row and the food and service"
Miinukset: "On way over BOS-->IST the seats were the closest together I have ever had. Exit row video screen support arm did not hold in place"

Plussat: "Exceptionally nice crew, outstanding amenities, best food I've ever had on an airplane. I especially liked having the option of traditional Turkish fare."
Miinukset: "The boarding process could have been more organized. I had a business class ticket and could not find the priority boarding line. The first ground crew member I asked was abrupt and sent me to the back of the long line. I caught the attention of a different crew member and he motioned me to the front of the line--it was a little awkward saying "excuse me" to each person that I passed. (I am not used to being a priority passenger!) Once my documents were cleared and my carry-on was inspected at the gate, it was not clear whether to take a seat or to go somewhere else."

Miinukset: "Not enough room between rows. Can't recline seat if table behind is open."

Plussat: "LOVED the attention that was given to passengers that wanted/needed rest."
Miinukset: "Looked into purchasing 1st class because flight was 10hrs & it was insanely expensive. The poor peoples cusions need some up dating, they are uncomfortable & worn."

Plussat: "Flight delayed 11.5 hours...not their fault, but there was no communication from Turkish Airlines as to what was happening."

Plussat: "Turkish was the only airline I've flown that actually did not give the impression of nickle and diming but really made clear and concerted and well executed efforts to exceed expectations on all fronts, even food and drink. A huge accomplishment. They really put most of their competitors to shame."
Miinukset: "Only issue was that the videos kept freezing up, though they did remedy that problem. And I wish they had a foreign hub further to the west. Much as I loved the airline, I would only fly them again to Turkey or further east. It took me 22 hours door to door from Venice to Portland, Maine, when it shouldn't have been much more than half that. It's just too Far East to be a very practical option for visiting Western Europe from the US."

Plussat: "Liked the food and service"

Plussat: "Entertainment System was great, many choices and easy to navigate. This was important because the flight was delayed on both ends so we were sitting for even longer than our already long flight."
Miinukset: "Boarding was unorganized although we'd been divided into four groups, people were jumbled together not really knowing when their group had been called. Check-in bag drop was extremely slow, another couple of desks were needed to keep the process moving more quickly. We were there more than 2 hours early and were standing in line nearly all of that time."

Miinukset: "Turkish Airlines Lift off. Finally after the hours of waiting, standing, passport controlling we are on board. Blessed air conditioning freezes the cheery rainbow seats Tossed back with painful whiplash the nineties surround us again. Enter to find the changing table Dirty diapers and wipes for tiny asses Moan, itch, pick, cry, kick, kick, scream Mommy Mommy Mommy Mommy Mommy Decadent. Familial entitlement on a budget. Sit down to stares. Without doing anything So begins the ogling Not for beauty or glasses But because of his right to look in any direction he pleases. The drink cart comes by Soft drinks only Stuttered English behind Only a sweet belch of coca cola Released, bubbling an unfettered expression shared across all languages. (but do they share my disgust?) Oh to fly, to find a cab to drive in the big city."

Miinukset: "I asked for sugar 3x before finally getting it (1 hour), but by then the coffee was cold and I had to request a new one and wait another 10 mins :)"

Plussat: "came home with 2 broken bags, hard to talk to anybody, emailing back and forth since then to replace them, so far offered much cheaper bags and om top of this, a lot of paper work needed to claim those 2 cheaper replacement !!!"
Miinukset: "very tight seats for 12+ hours across Atlantic flight, old planes, somewhat unfriendly attendants."

Plussat: "The entertainment choices were quite good. Flights arrived more or less on time."
Miinukset: "Our departure flight (BOS-IST) was changed 6 weeks after our booking, so our 2.5-hour layover became 10 hours. This happened before in my past experience with Turkish Airlines. There were many babies and small kids, so the noise level was high. Not ideal if you want to get some sleep on the flight."

Plussat: "I am not a picky person to me every thing was great taking into consideration that you cant satisfy every one."
Miinukset: "Not every one can follow the speed of the way you announce things, remember your flight take people from different continents in the world Also not having some where to sit while waiting for the information of which gate to go it is very challenging. The AC was almost killing the older people not me but the older lady sat next to me complained all the time but it didn't work. I know it is the challenge difficult to solve however you can give them some advise. Find a private space to talk with sick people because some people might not be comfortable to talk in front of every one."

Miinukset: "They ran out of the chicken dish by the time they got back to me. And my seat didn't recline."

Plussat: "Great staff. Very hepful when I needed to switch seats."
Miinukset: "Having touchscreens in the back of the seat isn't a good idea- the gentleman behind me frequently poked and jarred my seat."

Miinukset: "None of my four flights had me on the special meals list, despite my having confirmed a vegetarian meal with the airline far in advance. Thankfully the flight attendants helped out and got me food i could eat."

Plussat: "Turkish Airlines is the best. Great food. An entertainment system that is really in a class of its own, especially on this flight -- large, crisp screens with lots to watch. Wonderful service. Great prices. I'll be back!"

Plussat: "Turkish Airlines is very comfortable and they go above and beyond to make their meals and flight experience wonderful!"

Plussat: "On time departure and arrival, staff want out of their way to make the flight enjoyable. The stay at Istanbul airport was a nice experience."

Miinukset: "I understand that an airline can’t control the weather, but they can be prepared for it. We arrived hours late and found chaos. Conflicting information from staff. Lines lasting HOURS, verging on mob behavior, some passengers shouting and crying. One very good agent got us into civilized lines, but it was still awful. Later that night, we found our second flight HAD taken off, despite every single airline and airport staffer insisting that all flights were cancelled. We could have been home for New Year’s Eve instead of stuck in an airport. The next day, we still got mixed signals about how to check in. Then we found we had been given seats rows apart, despite being one booking. To be honest, we haven’t even taken this flight yet. Our rebooked flight on the following day is hours late and we’re waiting for it now. But I already know enough to post that I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

Plussat: "I had a migraine attack and needed to vomit several times. The crew was amazing and tried to help me in any possible way, unbelievable. Extremely grateful to the flight attendants who helped me so much."

"The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking."

Plussat: "The seats were very good. The crew was helpful and friendly."
Miinukset: "We had a connection in Detroit. The flight from Seattle to Detroit arrived about 30 minutes late, and we barely made the connection. Apparently Delta had not told the Detroit-Boston flight to wait a few minutes for us. We did make the connection, but we arrived at the gate with no seat assignment (we had been bumped the day before from our original flight because of a mechanical problem) as the plane was loading. Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming."

Plussat: "The crew was very professional and polite, my flight attended (blond lady) was very pleasant and very professional. She should be promoter to teach others how to be professional without kiss passenger's a*s."
Miinukset: "Could be better if the check in line employee were be able to sell one way ticket to Boston at 13:20hr , instead I had to purchased round trip just to get at my destination at planned time. Also I had to pay 30 dollars to go get the next flight at 18:59hrs , which was extremely inconvenient."

Miinukset: "It was ridiculously cold for 2 1/2 hours. When my seat mate asked for a blanket, the stewardess said she only had one more - then walked off. For drinks, they skipped several people. I had to catch her eye to ask for one and then ask her to get my kids a drink in front of me."

Miinukset: "Flight attendant in First class was visibly frustrated and unfriendly. He was not helping with my simple request for a blanket. Also, the were no food service in first class."

Plussat: "I like the entertainment on Delta."

Plussat: "The crew was super friendly and professional. Enjoyed the reworked safety message before take-off."
Miinukset: "The Comfort+ seat, while it had plenty of leg room in front, had a small width-box that many Americans (being larger than perhaps they should be) will find extremely uncomfortable at best, and unable to fit in at worst."

Plussat: "There were 12 delays. No help and I slept overnight in the airport. Worst experience I will never fly delta again"

Miinukset: "it would be great if you could not use all those one-use plastic cups. waste is a real issue in the US and the solution is using re-usable items like washable cups. Unboarding was a nightmare and it started to get really hot waiting to get off."

Miinukset: "The fact the the toilette was kitty cornered in the mid cabin bathroom is a joke on modern society."

Miinukset: "The flight attendants skipped many rows of people not offering food or beverage. I wasnt sleep so not sure why I wasnt asked did I want a beverage or snack"

Miinukset: "Flight was 1,5 hr delayed, which almost caused me to miss my connecting flight"

Plussat: "This was my daughter’s first solo travel home from college. She said the staff was helpful and kind. She loved that the flight was not over crowded. It was a smooth flight."
Miinukset: "Only negative thing she could say was her flight was delayed an hour. But that isn’t terrible considering all the holiday travelers."

Miinukset: "They upgraded only my husband and split him up with the rest of our family. We were delayed and once we landed we got stuck in an active taxi way just because of poor arrangements from airport staff"

Miinukset: "We thought we were flying AirFrance as our emails came from them and were surprised to learn after waiting in the AirFrance baggage drop queue for 30 mins that we were in the wrong place."

Miinukset: "Delta delayed us SEVEN times and I type this as we are rounding our 30th minute waiting to get off the plane at Logan."

Miinukset: "I was flying from CDG to LGD and my bag was lost, yet the baggage claim system showed it arrived...... Thankful I packed some essentials in my carry on. The bigger issue will be dealing with my medical insurance company to get medications replaced that were in the checked bag."

Plussat: "Crew was courteous, I asked for a blanket and a banana (I saw some being passed to delta select (?) passengers), and got both, no one snapped at me like on an earlier flight.5"
Miinukset: "The flight was 3.5 hrs late. (Had it been on time, I would have missed it entirely though because Atlanta airport passport control was complete chaos, I heard the airport wa closed earlier for weather related reasons). Enough said."

Plussat: "Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears."

Plussat: "About 10-15 yrs ago I stopped transatlantic flights on Delta. It was a scruffy airline with uninterested cabin crew & not to talk of food etc. What a change! Neat clean A330, friendly crew & food + beverages to brag (you pay outrageous prices on 'leaner-meaner' airlines if at all available). Loved the whole experience. Flying is not only getting from A to B & Delta has realized it. Looking forward to my next Delta flight!"

Miinukset: "The online reservation had me pick seats for my family, those seats were emailed to me, then when I checked in and got our boarding passes, the seats had changed! Wouldn't have been a big deal, but I had already memorized our seats, so I looked like a moron when I insisted seats that were not ours anymore were ours!"

Plussat: "Courteous crew and smooth flight"

Plussat: "Food available was good."
Miinukset: "Very tight space- could not reach floor when person in front of me moved seat into recline position. Could not get out of seat to go to bathroom when my seat mates were sleeping. Tough to load- tight spaces."

Plussat: "The crew was really friendly and helpful. The plane was really clean"
Miinukset: "The boarding process was too long, there was a lot of people. It was kinda a mess. The sit assignment for people who didn't have sit assign was slow."

Miinukset: "The plane was delayed by more than 3 hours due to "weather problems" earlier in the day. Delta did not permit re-booking to flights that left JFK for Boston earlier, even tho there seats available, instead insisting that we had to wait for our assigned flight. Small snacks (regular Coke, no Diet) did not really compensate well."

Plussat: "We flew a plane that had 2 row seats. I booked that for my daughter and me as well as seats ahead of an exit so we would have no one behind as. Great seats and they reclined quitea bit. We were very pleased."

Miinukset: "The wifi didn't work at all, the entertainment system wasn't working until they did a reboot during the flight"

"Great flight Will go again!"

Miinukset: "I had paid for an upgrade to sit in the front of the cabin with extra legroom (row 14A). When I boarded a man sat it my seat. He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

Plussat: "Due to business I travel allot so I deal with allot of airlines. This is by far the best airlines I have used. Excellent crew and airport staff. I don’t think words can express how satisfied I am with this airlines and airport. The nicest people and great service. Clean and modern aircraft. Going to try flying only with KLM from now on."

Plussat: "Pumpkin soup instead of a heavy entree was welcome and tasty. Breakfast yogurt portion was generous, the granola less so. Accompaniments were good. Butter was not ice cold, thank goodness."
Miinukset: "Inbelievably chaotic boarding process for Kili to Dar leg. No boarding lanes so had to fight through the crowd. Was able to observe cleaning process at Dar stop, which was cursory and am sure there was no cleaning of seats of those who boarded at Kili."

Miinukset: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Miinukset: "Delay again... seems to be pretty frequent on KLM flights at least on the ones I flew with in the past 4 years... this time it was 3hours wait due to a technical issue... no alternative flight option and we ended up getting a very old plane as a replacement. In addition people at info terminals are disorganized and not kind at all.."

Miinukset: "Taking off late caused me stress because I had transferring flight within less than two hours in transit originally. So we arrived later about 50 minutes so I had to manage my situation and find my next gate and be on time. And an other thing that I disliked was that I was allowed to have only one baggage which was very unusual for international flight between two countenances. And the crew was not polite enough so she made fun of my Cary-on. In short, I expected more from KLM which is famous for them being "Royal" but not acting as one of them."

(Staff allowed it to be a bit pushy and chaotic and people were able to force their way in line, ahead of those who had been waiting in line.) Seats were okay but no recline and underseat storage was small. (Backpack wouldn't fit underseat and had to be stored in overhead.) Passengers crowding from back of plane upon arrival made it hard to deplane and felt rude."

Plussat: "I am a 70 year old woman with reduced mobility. The flight attendants made sure that I was given an aisle seat and they helped me find a seat with two empty ones next to me. The crew could not have been kinder."

Miinukset: "Our flight in Lisbon was scheduled to board an hour before departure. We arrived on-time, went through the line and were then placed in a standing room only area to stand and wait for another 45 minutes before boarding. We were placed near the entrance (I thought to board early as a family) but were later told to join another line when we asked why we sere just standing and waiting while other passengers were walking past us. The communication between staff and between your staff and passengers was poor."

Miinukset: "The entertainment is very poor. The programs are not on demand and the screeen is old, small and very poor quality. The A330-200 I flew from Boston to Lisbon was excellent and had the new lie flat seats and on-demand entertainment. Big difference between the two airplanes."

Miinukset: "The temperature control in the cabin was poor. Too warm for my liking and no personal air vents. Also their was a passenger behind me who incessantly kicked at my seat each time I tried to recline."

Miinukset: "at check-in agent said we did not have coverage on our ticket for our 2 -50lb bags dispite informing her that we were covered and had no problem on our arriving flight to Portugal - we had to pay 196 Euros or leave our bags in Portugal Additionally we had ordered a wheelchair to assist my wife to the gate - which we also had our arriving flight - agent said she had no record of it. She said we could wait which we did and waited 2 hours to obtain a wheelchair (and came close to missing our plane) not to mention the stress associated with the whole check in process"

Plussat: "I really appreciated the fact that the gate agents enforced the boarding process meticulously. Often times, even when boarding a certain zone, passengers ignore it and board anyway. The staff made sure that people only boarded when their zone was called. The flight and the aircraft was comfortable. The food was better than what I've had on other airlines, if not at least equal."

Our small luggage that we had to check never had any problems with any other airlines about being a carryon but since it was over 8 kg, it had to be checked. Took a 7.5 hour flight and the entertainment screen was not working for anyone, as the system was broken. Will not be flying with airline ever again."

Miinukset: "There was a strike in Lisbon. Thousands of people trying to go through security and four people working the booths. Plus NO information. Just chaos, bad feelings and HOURS of standing in lines. Stressful. Will NEVER go to Lisbon again."

Plussat: "The only airline that makes me feel like a human being and not a piece of baggage. Very comfortable seating with good legroom for tall people like me. Attendants treat you with respect and are responsive to requests."
Miinukset: "Gate number was different from what was on my ticket and the tv screen at the original gate didn't indicate where the new gate was supposed to be. Don't need that kind of stress when traveling!"

Miinukset: "Our flight was DCA to Boston then to Lisbon, with similar return. Our return flight into Boston arrived early enough to allow us to get an earlier flight home but TAP customer service wasn't open until after the earlier flight departed. Also, Jet Blue, the domestic carrier, could not change our flight because it was booked through TAP."

Plussat: "All included extra inches of leg room and personal entertainment system at no additional cost. Food was excellent on our way to Europe, not so good on the way back but still decent. The crew was professional and courteous and the boarding process (two kids included) was very smooth. This has been our BEST experience with an airline in 15 years of traveling annually to Europe. I will book with TAP for now on."

Miinukset: "At the check in, despite that I have a swiss passport, 5)3 hostess looked solely at my face and assumed I need avisa and asked me three times for my visa. On the flight, blankets are removed 20-30 minutes before landing during which I was freezing. Upon arrival, my new bag i hadnt used as yet was broken and TAP pays nothing and does no kind of exchange for broken bags. Basically- they dont care! During my return flight, despite being checked in adn being at the airport wel ahead of time, the airport clerks gyided me to the wrong desk and I had to wait longer than needed. The check in for baggages had closed by 1 min. They were allowing me to take the flight only if I threw out all my liquids or else were off loading me. They proposed no other solution and wanted to make me pay 450 dollara to put me on the flight the next day. I had an interview the following day and needed to return. I ended buying a new full fare ticket with British airways and got excellent service. I am yet to complain to TAP."
