Miinukset: "After missing our connecting flight in Istanbul on our Turkish Airlines flight on January 9th from LAX-Addis Ababa (due to a nearly 45 minute delayed flight), my sister and I had to spend 24 hours in Istanbul and still pay for a night in our 4 star hotel in Addis, despite the fact that we weren't there. So, in preparation for our flight back to LAX, I spent hours on the phone with a Turkish Airlines representative to ensure that we would not miss our connecting flight on the way back to LAX on January 29 (Jomo Kenyatta-IST-LAX). The TA representative spoke very little English and became incredibly frustrated with me when I expressed my concern about how closely scheduled our connecting flights in Istanbul were. The representative said she could "help us" by seating us at the back of the plane from Jomo Kenyatta-IST, as she was "mostly sure" that our plane would deboard from the back of the plane once we arrived in Istanbul and, in theory, we wouldn't have to wait behind all the other customers to exit. This was totally incorrect: our plane only deboarded from the front exit door and the seats she selected at the back would surely have caused us to miss our next flight were it not for the fact that the plane wasn't full and we arrived only a few minutes late. Still, by the time we got off the plane in IST, our connecting flight was already 15 minutes into boarding. We showed the TA attendants our boarding passes at the long security line, and at first they both said, "don't worry, it will be fine". I had to convince them to let us skip the line as we would clearly have missed our flight. Once we finally made it through security we ran through the ENTIRE Istanbul airport to get to our gate, as we could hear them calling the final boarding call for our flight to LAX. We literally ran as fast as we could for almost 20 minutes straight, with all of our bags, which ended up being over a mile, I would guess. When we got to our gate, we had to go through yet another security line - WHY??? Apparently there was a celebrity in front of us, and while we were sweating and nervous about missing our flight, the security agents were taking selfies with the celebrity. It was insulting and rude and totally unprofessional. The take away for me is that Turkish Airlines should NOT be allowed to sell flights to people that give them less than an hour to make international connecting, especially in an airport as large and disorganized as Istanbul, and especially when Turkish Airlines flights are often late or delayed. This was one of the most stressful flying experiences of my life."

Miinukset: "I didn't like the fact that nobody told me that Ataturk Airport in Istanbul is so big that you can not make to connect flight on time for an hour.Especially if you flight has been late to depart like mine from Belgrade due to the rain. I thought I will make it to the connect flight to LA but the gate was already closed. I was instructed to do multiple errands, to get Turkish visa, etc all on my expense to be able to exit the transit as an American citizen and be able to take Turkish airlines bus to the hotel.The hotel was fine and the meals. The problem was that they calculate bus traveling time wrong in the hotel and put people on the bus next day too late, so due to the traffic jam, we barely made it to the airport, and then we had to stress the officials to put us on the fast passport control lane due to boarding time."

All the crew are so nice and it is their policy to give you all of the comforts - pillows, blankets, headphones, drinks (including alcohol), movies, musics, games, meals, snacks and probably more! I don't think they have a way to take money! This was the best flying experience I have ever had! The plane itself was also very nice. There was touchscreen in front of me with all kinds of entertainment plus a USB charger for my phone. They also made sure the closest connecting flight folks had gate attendants waiting for them. The service is phenomenal all the way around!"

Miinukset: "You had a very disrespectful, illogical, anal retentive person at the ticket gate just before getting on the shuttle. She would not allow us to wait for the rest of our party of 2 to go on the shuttle to the plane together. They were delayed because of your personal continually bringing other people to cut in line in front of them. There was plenty of time and the shuttle was already full, and we wanted to wait for the next shuttle to board the airplane together. She came out several times from inside of the building shouting at the three of us to get on the shuttle even when the person managing the shuttle flow at the bottom of the stairs was about to let us wait for the next shuttle. What was her problem(?) - she could use a lot more people skills and realize who pays her salary - the customers. She really tarnished the whole image and impression I originally had of TA. Also, there was no way to go to the bathroom without going through a long line of security again at the last gate before the shuttle which did not make sense."

Miinukset: "When I check-in for flight from Rome to Istanbul and Istanbul to Los Angeles, only the first leg of trip was confirmed correctly. For the leg from Istanbul to Los Angeles I confirmed a window seat when I checked-in online. However, when I arrived at the airport I has a middle seat and could not change it and the 15 hour flight was miserable. I also asked to be upgraded to business class and told it would be $3,500.00, which was ridiculous."
Plussat: "The flight was great and the service was wonderful. The plane was new and clean. A huge plus was the video entertainment in every seat along with headphones and USB Charging Port. They poured me a double Glenlivet scotch on the rocks at NO CHARGE!"
Miinukset: "I booked three round-trip tickets from LAX to Athens. Our daughter did not fly with us there but we checked with ticketing in LAX and they booked her seat anyway. The issue came when we tried to leave Athens the airlines then said that I had to purchase a one-way ticket! They informed me that the flight was cancelled for my daughter because she didn't fly to Athens. The ticket was almost $1,500.00 and I intend to get my money back but it was unfortunate that they had to charge me for it in the first place."
Plussat: "Free movies that are current, Free food/drinks/alcohol, Pillow, blanket, eye blinds, slippers, socks. The flight was 12+ hours long, and the ability to watch movies, tv shows, play games, listen to music on the large pad in each seat was pretty amazing. Free over the ear headphones... Very amazing flight"

Wrong contact phone number at initial report and was not addressed despite report and upload. Also a representative emailed that luggage was erroneously recorded as "delivered" which is not true. I still don't have my luggage after 14 days. No further responses despite extensive documentation and receipts. This is bad!!!"

Flight attendants are extremely rude, not helpful, the food is terrible, the planes are all old Boeing 777-300 likely purchased second hand and seem to be falling apart on the inside. I saw flight attendants kicking, punching, and body slamming carts and other items to get them to fit in their racks in the kitchen areas, I hate to think what that means for safety of critical items. Just stay away for your safety and sanity"

Need better maintenance."

Actually about 5 Boarding areas were down no one was available to give direction or answer questions until you got To the front of the line and many had to be sent then to a different line. Bad enough the terminals were down but not even close to German efficiency in handling the problem. Also several of the stewards were rather surly and short"

I spent extra for additional legroom in economy class and would have been comfortable but it I was seated next to a very large person which created a seating space reduced by a third. Medical problem on board caused delays and me having to change seats at the end to where the sick woman used to sit - smelled of vomit, gross. 3 crying bwbies for 12 hours. Seats too narrow, room in front too small with table pulled out. LH always good but not this time."

Miinukset: "The seats in the economy class are too small. Not once did I have someone sitting next to me who could actually fit in his seat. They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."

They rushed the final food service with less than 1hour left to LAX and had to eat very quickly before descent and had little/no time to fill out customs cards. In seat entertainment TV worked very poorly - very slow response to pressing buttons and very slow load of content."

While our seats (located directly behind the Plus section) gave us extra leg room (I don't know why) we did not have the wider seats, food service style and menu as given to those directly in front of us. There was actuallly a barrier between them and us which hit me in the head every time I stood up! On a long flight from Munich to LAX we felt and were cheated."

Plussat: "The crew did their best to help several people whose seat requests were not honored including a woman traveling with a dog who was given an aisle instead of a window seat. Crew came around with water and juice frequently."
Miinukset: "Seat assignments were not honored. My husband and I were seated in two different rows even though we requested to sit together in an aisle and window seat and checked in the day before the flight This happened on all four legs of a trip to South Africa. Extremely narrow seats and little leg room. Felt like a cattle car. An aggressive woman with disruptive, screaming children was allowed to Torture passengers for a good five hours of the flight before the bursar finally moved her. This was after several hours of complaints from other passengers. She was eventually moved twice due to passenger complaints. The situation should have been handled after the first complaints which occurred two hours into the flight before the situation completely detiorated Food was terrible and meals ran out."

Miinukset: "I did not enjoy the turbulence, which I suppose is unavoidable. More importantly, I felt quite guilty about the greenhouse gas emissions of my flight. I have decided to cut down on my air travel as much as possible as a way of reducing my carbon footprint."

I was told I will have 100 euro credit for clothing, but in the winter and for 6 days, this was not even close to the amount I needed for clothing and necessities, to have my time here."

Miinukset: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Miinukset: "Seats on the 777 were too narrow. This 777 had a 3-4-3 seating arraignment, it would have been better with a 3-3-3, similar to a 787 configuration. With the current layout, even with an aisle seat, I was sitting in the aisle. And I am not a large person! The flight was full, so use the 787 and two daily non-stops. For a twelve hour flight, the food was only Okay, could have been better and with a better selection. Meal timing was poor."
Plussat: "The staff at the front desk for the check-in were extremely helpful. I had a complicated issue with my luggage and they helped me to sort it out in the best possible way. Amazing service! Furthermore, the entertainment on board is great! Nice movies, nice food, friendly flight attendants, etc. They even offered me a second sandwich =)! I truly loved my experience with KLM."
Miinukset: "Per usual, KLM can't seem to figure out the order of boarding the plane. Should be business - priority - everyone else. Instead they do priority first, and that's usually two-thirds of the passengers. Strange choice of in-flight movies; no accounting for taste, I guess."

Crew member refused to serve the coffee saying that the plane was going thru turbulence which was not quite true. There was no vegetarian option as far as meals were concerned. He did not even offer fruits as substitute. One of the crew member did not seem friendly at all. rather grumpy at times. Most of them do not speak decent English so it is hard to communicate with them anyways."

Miinukset: "I was asked by KLM to ask Aeroflot if my baggages were on the plane to LA at Moscow, because I had 10 hours. However, Aeroflot security didn't listen to me and kept saying I'm okay( I guess she wanted to say I was a right gate) and didn't let me talk to groundhostes, and kept screeming to others to show her their boading pass. I could get to talk groundhostes right when I get in the flight, not sure my baggage were with me. My suitcase was damagged at both flights on the way and back. And had to wait for two hours to receive the form, and to claim it, you have to submit so many documents and takes tim e. I am waiting for it."
Plussat: "This was a cheap flight from LAX to ZRH with a layover in Moscow and that's about as good as it gets."
Miinukset: "The check in personnel was not that helpful and were very slow to check in everyone to their corresponding flights, and since kiosks were not available for aeroflot the experience was unavoidable. The plane economy class is really as uncomfortable as it gets for a transatlantic flight. There were no beer options for the flight (nor vodka which is weird), and flight attendants weren't that happy to talk to you in English. 5 hours wait at Moscow are the worst, if you're thinking on saving some dollars on a transatlantic flight this is not worth it."
Miinukset: "This was a Finnair flight operated by Aeroflot, which was delayed by at least 3 hours and caused me to miss my next flight."

No human being should suffer through that experience I ordered special meal and it was all plain and vegitarian even though I am not vegiterian"

Miinukset: "After unbelievably long check-in, they were not able accommodate our family . Me and my wife had to take one child each separated by 8 rows. The flight attendants unfriendly attitude was not even a surprise anymore after spending 4 days in Moscow."
Miinukset: "The food was terrible. Also I'm vegetarian and there was never an option to select a special meal. The food was very Russian which is very different than any other food from other countries. The flavor combinations were not appealing. For a 13 hour flight, I was hungry when I got home."

Miinukset: "The staff looked at us like they has bugs up their noses, but so did every Russian in Moscow. It's like being American is offensive to them. The ten hour layover was excruciating--we slept on the floors, while they advertised their completely booked in-airport hotels every thirty minutes on the intercom. The airplane was so hot I literally poured cups of water over myself every couple hours to keep my clothes damp and my body at a reasonable temperature. The food was pretty terrible."
