Miinukset: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Miinukset: "We flew out of Newark (EWR), and the flight gate was NOT posted on any of the flight departure boards, there was no Icelandair counter to ask for that information (staff had left, as we arrived there shortly after 1 hour prior to departure, so there was no longer even a sign saying Icelandair on it), there were no Icelandair staff or crew to ask, and each and every airport personnel we asked (such as visitor information and security) either did not know or gave us incorrect information. The gate information was not given on our boarding passes, and even Google did not know the gate number! Although we should have had plenty of time, we ended up having to cut through the security line to make it, and even then we came fairly close to missing the flight. I would be very reluctant to ever use Icelandair again, even though I did like the price for the cost of the flight and the flight itself was fine."
Plussat: "You’re going for no frills. Competitive pricing maybe but consider baggage situation first. We went transatlantic and paid for a bag using economy light fare to make it work. Only needed one checked bag. Kids even in economy light get a free meal. Cabin is ok."
Miinukset: "Witnessed many customers checking in who thought a bag was included. Entertainment is ok but screens have limited kid activities. Each leg of my flight took off 15-20 min late easily. Overall this wasn’t bad as it was made up in-air. Except one layover was only an hour, And cut it a bit close clearing passport control and traveling with two kids. No time to even see Kaflavik or pick up food or drinks. We ran to the final boarding call after clearing passport control. Also not good was that they don’t offer gate check on strollers. On a departure, you can use your stroller all the way up to the gate, but you get it back with any checked baggage at baggage claim, so you won’t have a stroller for layovers in Keflavík or clearing customs on either end. That was a pain."

Very disappointed if i can help it i will not fly with them again. This is the 3 straight year i have so seems like we are being forced to go with them to get a decent flight price."

Additionally, my luggage got left in Iceland on the way back to Toronto, and the desk agent in Toronto for Iceland Air could not have been less helpful."

Also the entertainment is what you see on TV in the USA, there are no new movies AND the content is the same east and West bound."

Plussat: "I love flying TAP because I love having extended layovers in Lisbon. Lisbon itself, including the airport, is easy to navigate. The food is great and the culture and architecture is gorgeous. For shorter trips TAP doesn't have as many amenities as other airlines, but on this trip the typical video screens with movies, music, etc. was available."
Miinukset: "In this particular flight there was a male airline attendant who was fabulous and who could speak many languages, including German. I noticed the other airline attendants seemed to be giving him a really hard time and weren't friendly at all. In fact, I rang a bell to ask for attendant help at one point and no one came to help. I was just a seat back from the area where the helpful airline attendant was available. I think that overall TAP flight staff could be a bit more open to being friendly. However, on the ground in Lisbon I've found the staff to be amazingly helpful."

Miinukset: "The airline wanted to double charge me for baggage after have had a layover during my trip, so when I was checking my luggage by second time in order to go to my destination, they insisted on make me pay, even thought I had paid my luggage online before to take the flight from the beginning."
Plussat: "The head stewardess was so helpful and nice! I was traveling alone with a 3-month-old baby and was very stressed out. The head stewardess helped me so much, gave me a more comfortable seat, a private place to breastfeed and a bassinet for the baby! She was amazing and I owe her so much for making my experience better. I also received a baby gift package that had a much needed pacifier clip! The flight was also the smoothest flight I've ever had across the Atlantic!"

Plussat: "Very easy to check in, flight was reasonably priced, and all was very good. My television didn't work, and my friend next to me, couldn't get hers to work. 3 different flight personnel tried to fix, reboot, and to no avail."

Miinukset: "Seats are very unconfortable and the space limited. baggage policy isn't very clear; I had to pay 20 extra euros for a checked bag"
Miinukset: "My round trip ticket was purchased and in the confirmation it stated that it included one free checked bag. i also went online to reserve a window seat which cost 12.95. When I got to the airport I was told I had to pay 110 for my one checked bag as well as they had moved me to an aisle seat. Basically scammed me out of 122.95. I have complained with ygthe airline and if it is not resolved I will not be flying with them again."
Miinukset: "They were lying about a supposed compensation for denied boarding which was supposed to be handed out in Lisbon. I didn't expect this behavior from grown up people, and such a company in Europe. TAP should be excluded from star alliance."
Plussat: "We were traveling with a 7 month old so boarding was made easy by the crew. Most of the crew were quite pleasant during the flight."
Miinukset: "The entertainment system hand piece failed so you were unable to select channels, turn the over head light off or ever call for assistance. We had to get another passenger to do that for us. Ultimately the light bulb had to be removed from the fixture. During the flight, we asked for more refreshments and were told we could only have water by a flight attendant. Upon arrival at our destination with a child in hand, our stroller was not unloaded at the gate so we had to carry our child and all that travels with him to the baggage area. For anyone travelling internationally, you will know this is generally quite a distant from the gate in major airports. The strollers and car seats arrived in baggage 30 minutes after the main luggage. When staff were approached they were short and appeared very disinterested in helping. TAP failed on this flight home."

Miinukset: "I found it very frustrating that we were told at the ticket counter the boarding would begin at 11:15am for a 12:45pm flight time. I arrived at the airport over two hrs in advance and then had to run a significant distance through the airport and sweat and be unnecessarily anxious waiting on the customs line only to arrive at the gate at 11:20am, to have my bags checked for a second time and then be unable to get any food or coffee before a flight that did not begin boarding for another 40 minutes. I did and still do not see the need for that additional luggage/security check and then being held at the gate for almost an extra hour for seemingly no reason at all."
Plussat: "The crew was very friendly and check-in was uneventful. A group of us traveled from MXP to EWR via LIS. Excellent ride on each leg."
Miinukset: "I love the flight attendants uniform. The ticket agent allowed me to change my seat to the exit row with no extra charge. Some of my group was charged for overweight bags and others weren't. A little inconsistent."

This is the worse international flight as far as room or food. Requested for an exit row seat but was told it was an additional $125 charge. Really that's how Air Canada is getting business by giving customers a very poor experience. A group of four us traveled on this trip and we had the same consensus and won't be recommending Air Canada."

Miinukset: "While the flight crew was great, the rest of the employees on the Toronto side were awful. Our plane was delayed from Dublin so most of the plane missed their connecting flight. Once off the plane they only had 2 people working rebooking and 2 working bag issues even though there was plenty employees around. After an incredibly long line, the gate agent was very rude. He barely acknowledged me, wouldn't look at me and just shoved my new ticket at me and said next. I tried to talk to another while waiting an extra 4hrs for my next flight and all she did was shove a business card with numbers and said if I had a problem to call one of those numbers and then rolled her eyes and started talking to her friends again. I saw another couple from my flight being passed around and getting rude treatment as well. Another I talked to said they will never fly Air Canada again. I know it wasn't their fault our flight was late but a little compassion and good customer service goes a long way. I had to spend $15 on dinner that I wouldn't if I had made my flight but they gave another couple from my flight $10 vouchers for food. So inconsistent! I also paid $100 extra on my ticket to sit closer to the front of the plane since I knew I had a short layover (which didn't make a difference) but they just gave the same seat to the girl next to me for the same reason. When I asked for a refund on the seat cost they just blew me off. To sum it up, the flight crew was great and very friendly but all the ground employees were awful and really need to improve on their customer service skills."

Miinukset: "Due to icy weather we missed our flight from Montreal to Las Vegas Wed Jan 4. Could they not have waited for the delayed flight from Ottawa to facilitate this connection? Many people had to wait overnight in the plastic airport chairs until the next flight at 8am Thurs Jan 5th. At that late hour could not the lights be slightly dimmed, the heavy beat pop music loop discontinued, and a dispensary machine with water, coffee or tea be in the departure area? There was none and the other shops had closed. It was overly bright, noisy and impossible to stretch out on the seats with rigid dividers."
Miinukset: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Plussat: "I didn't go. They wouldn't allow me to make a change in my ticket so I flew a different airline. I will never fly with them again."
Miinukset: "I didn't care about putting my own tags on my luggage or I had to put it on the conveyor. But when I get to my destination and no luggage to be found, I was pissed. The only thing I didn't do was put my luggage on the plane and when I did get it, the luggage was damaged. My luggage went from Kingston - Toronto - Barbados, back to Toronto with nothing wrong with the luggage. They cancelled the last flight to Kingston,so they put us in a hotel. But from Toronto back to Kingston was hell when we got to Kingston."

Miinukset: "I rarely fly these partner airlines without experiencing major delays, and the delays are always announced after I have cleared security, forcing me to spend hours at the airport. The claims of "weather" are specious: they don't fly enough planes and they don't properly maintain the planes they do fly."
Plussat: "Drop off at the counter was fast and easy on the upper level departure entrance. From my drop off at 9:00 am, I made it thru baggage check-in, passing thru passport control, passing thru security and into the gate duty free area in 25 mins! Impressive experience."
Miinukset: "With an hour delay out of Paris due to waiting for missing aircraft flight documents to be completed and delivered to the airplane on the holding ramp, we ended up arriving in Toronto an hour late. With only an original connection time of 90 minutes, it was not possible for me to make it thru Canadian and US customs to the connection gate. I was to learn that no other connection to a Kansas City was available until much later in the afternoon / early evening. As a result, I ended up arriving in Kansas City 6 (six) hours later than originally scheduled, three quarters of the time it took to travel from Paris to Toronto. To say the least , I was not at all thrilled having lost that time."
Plussat: "We got exit row seats and had tons of room - without an upcharge. We even got a hot breakfast in economy for free. Our first bad was free too - love Lufthansa (who operated flight fir air canada)"

Plussat: "The entertainment at my assigned seat was not working so they offered me a change in seat prior to boarding, was a better seat with more leg room, and I could listen to music to try to sleep the airline offered $10 to spend for food in airport, that was nice. the crew on the plane were great."
Miinukset: "the flight had an extended delay >3 hours, they did their best I suppose to keep people updated. I had flown from Barcelona and already had a 4 hour layover so I was extremely tired."

Miinukset: "on march 13/ 2016 booked my tickets on kayak.com so end up getting it with vayama.on july 28 missed my flight for a family raison called vayama and explained the situation they said they will help me just they need to confirm with the airlines (air canada) and they will give me new tickets.no body called me back ,called air canada said: we have ticket but you need to get it from vayama.called vayama again he said sorry about that i will let everyone know and he promise me that i will get help a.s.a.p.did't hear from them left with my wife and two kids in morocco for a week end up buying new tickets from laufthansa"

Miinukset: "We checked in 2.5 hrs before our flight but this was not early enough to guarantee our seats, and we were put on standby. That was a bummer. I still have this old-fashioned notion that paying in full for the seat was the guarantee for the seats. The A/C was broken during initial taxi and takeoff. The flight was delayed 30 minutes."
Plussat: "I appreciated the timing of when they fed us. It was almost like they read my mind each time I thought... Hmm I'm getting hungry. The movie/tv selection was excellent."
Miinukset: "I felt cramp, which it's economy class so of course. But in the back there were tons of open rows and I wish they had spread us out."
Miinukset: "The fact there was no entertainment system available for a 6hr international flight is a crime. Apparently there is some sort of app you need to download on a mobile device or computer BEFORE the flight, Would have made a huge difference knowing that."

Plussat: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."

Miinukset: "There was no music/entertainment provided by Air Canada. No flights over 4 hours should be without monitors for movies and/or music. Being told in-flight that we could have downloaded the Air Canada app was inexcusable as one couldn't download anything during the flight. I've been on many flights and the only other plane that didn't have entertainment or music options was going from Cape Cod, MA to Nantucket; a 20 minute flight on a Cessna. I was not expecting any music or entertainment on that flight, however. My wife and I were very disappointed in Air Canada from this perspective. We have 4 children and would pay extra on different airlines would never fly it again. We were grateful from Toronto to DFW there was entertainment, though."
