Miinukset: "Had a layover in Toronto. From Toronto we flew to Istanbul and then Venice. While waiting in line to board in Toronto, I was told my carry-on luggage was too big and needed to be put under. I asked MULTIPLE times where my luggage would be- either Istanbul or Venice (final destination) and EVERY time I asked, I was told my luggage would be waiting for me in Venice. Once we arrived in Istanbul I asked AGAIN if my carry-on luggage was here or if it would be in Venice and I was told it would be in Venice. Once we arrived in Venice, my luggage was nowhere to be found. The lost luggage crew (and 90% of the people in Venice) were completely rude and acted like we were a huge inconvenience for them. (I've heard that many Europeans cannot stand Americans, but we were not being rude or obnoxious at all to anyone- we just wanted a quiet, romantic vacation.) So safe to say that it was an extremely rough start. We were in Venice for the Glass Art Society Conference in Murano and due to my luggage being lost, had missed the first day and a half, therefore wasting hundreds of dollars. Luckily my boyfriend's phone worked in order to spend our first two days of vacation (not to mention the amount of money spent on international calling costs) tracking down my luggage, but again dealt with completely rude people who barely helped us with any answers and even hung up on us multiple times (and I'd like to add that despite my frustration, I made sure that I was not speaking rudely one bit). The best answers we received were from the people at the Istanbul airport who told us that Venice received my luggage hours before I even called Istanbul- which I do not understand why the Venice airport did not tell me this because I spent all day speaking with them. Once I called back the Venice airport to confirm what the Istanbul airport told us, they said (once again rudely) that they called me on my phone but did not answer (which I already told them that my phone did not have any service and to call my boyfriend's phone number). So to sum up: I will never be flying to Venice ever again."
Miinukset: "There was a long line at the very hot sleeve leading to the aircraft, in Istanbul. If the ground team know that this is the case they should slow down the boarding at the gate. The sleeve at the destination, Venice, was air conditioned"

On the flight to NY, I asked for some food (the cheese sandwiches) only to be told that they did not have enough for the flight and that they ran out. If you are going to offer something inflight, should you not make sure that you have enough of the item?"

Plussat: "The staff was nice & the food was pretty good for airline food. Good movie & entertainment selection. The usb charger at each seat was extremely convenient & helpful. The provided slippers, socks, lip balm, tooth brush, tooth paste & sleep mask were a very nice touch."
Miinukset: "The plane was extremely hot upon boarding & stayed that way for quite some time. People in our group thought they might pass out from the extreme heat. Once it cooled down, it was much more comfortable & bearable. Wish they offered more food items for those allergic to dairy/gluten."

Miinukset: "Everything. This was the worst star alliance flight i have taken. No control over the passengers, and kids. Screaming children the entire flight. I was not able to sleep at all. They did not dim the lights until extremely late in the flight. Business class lights were dimmed several hours before economy. The staff at gate check-in was not helpful. My seating assignment was separated from my wife. I was told they could not move me. I was originally set to be seated next to a young mother and baby. I switched with her husband and another passenger to be seated next to my wife. Why do I need to arrange a seating assignment that should have been obvious? Plus they did not credit me with my mileage. Thanks, never again."

Miinukset: "The middle seat that I got. The first 30min the plane was super hot plus it was very hot outside. When I boarded the plane, I asked if there were any exit row seats open. I was told no. I sat down 5 rows or so behind the exit. 15 min later the attendant started moving children from the exit rows to different seats. I raised my hand to be placed in the exit row but was ignored. The flight attendants were slow and rude. I asked for two white wines with my food, and was looked at with disgust. I was told that I can have one, and when I finished it, I could have the second one. I said ok. Well 30 MINUTES later I touch the attendant button and no one came. Finally after 5 min someone came to take my order. She quickly came back and said they were out of wine. This was a very disappointing flight."

Miinukset: "Boarding in Istanbul and Tel Aviv was chaotic, no business class boarding. Checking laptop in Istanbul was inconvenient. Lounge Istanbul was awesome however way too crowded to fully take advantage of it. Also should control people and what they takfor food. The lines were long and people would literally pile their plates with massive amounts of food, take it to their seat then leave it. Fix the lockers and add more, they are a wonderful asset but I was not able to take advantage of. Consider limiting access to manage crowds."

Plussat: "It was a short flight but they still fed us and supplied beverages. So many airlines do not do this or charge you for everything!"

Miinukset: "The chairs in economy line were uncomfortable after a couple of hours. It was really hard to sleep."

Miinukset: "Confusion delayed takeoff by 1 hour or more. Staff at gate had an issue in their system. They let others after me on the flight but said would be missing luggage. I said that is fine. Ten minutes later they said they would not let me board. I spent no less than 4 hours trying to get out of the airport-- waiting for visa and then through customs. Every Turkish airline desk took a long time and I was sent to at least 4 Turkish airlines desks. It is all a mess. So I am one day delayed in my arrival to my destination. This has been so frustrating!!!!!!!"

Miinukset: "Worst customer service I've ever had in an airport at Attaturk. Turkish airline staff was horribly rude, wouldn't acknowledge their mistakes, very uninforming and all of it to pretty much force you to pay the airline more money in penalty fees for changing flight arrangements and new ticket purchases. And be careful THEY DON'T have any announcement on the intercom system at Attaturk (I had no clue as to that being the case there, nor have I ever been at an airport that doesn't). No boarding announcement, no gate change announcement, no nothing.....and if and when you miss a flight because you didn't know the gate changed while you're sitting at what you thought was your gate and no one bothered to let you know (including the person who checked your boarding pass when you came into that gate area, it's down hill from there! They will tell you it's your fault and not give a dam* what you say to argue otherwise....and......if you don't pay the penalty they dictate to change your flight ($1114 on a $780 ticket in my case so I purchased another ticket on Turkish air on my own for $236 to get me where I was going), they WILL cancel your return flight without telling you, at which point you will have to buy a new ticket to get back home and they end up getting the money out of you regardless. This was an absolute nightmare of a trip, couple with being treated like dirt by everyone at the airport. I will not ever again fly Turkish Air if I can help it."
Plussat: "The staff are all very professional and nice."
Miinukset: "My luggage just disappeared on my second leg to Istanbul. 2 email notifications that luggage was not found. Wrong contact phone number at initial report and was not addressed despite report and upload. Also a representative emailed that luggage was erroneously recorded as "delivered" which is not true. I still don't have my luggage after 14 days. No further responses despite extensive documentation and receipts. This is bad!!!"
Plussat: "Crew and entertainment were okay."
Miinukset: "Less than 20 minutes to catch this plane because of delays. The flight was longer than scheduled because of delays on the airline side and US customs limited processing capability. I felt really tired when I got out of LAX."
Miinukset: "Our flight was LAX > Istanbul > Oman The connection in Istanbul was canceled. The transfer desk was very overwhelmed by the volume of customers. After 3 hours of waiting I finally got someone to get us on a flight to Qatar and then to our final destination Oman. That person then left work before printing the tickets and I had to start all over again. It was a very stressful and tiring ordeal and cost us an entire day of our vacation."

Miinukset: "Asian vegetarian meal was not as good for inbound flight as it was for outbound flight."
Plussat: "DC to Istanbul: Good food and nice flight experience. Helpful staff were always ready to help. Istanbul to DC: clean, maintained aitcraft, nice crew, good food."
Miinukset: "DC to Istanbul: Broken bathroom lock. Not very clean aisles. Very few English speaking crew. Istanbul to DC: Ran out of second option lunch. This seem to happen frequently. Most of the crew members were strangely not around. This resulted in two overworked crew members and lots of trays sitting on our laps for sometime. I was curios what all the other ones were doing."
Plussat: "Unfortunately for Turkish A. the plane was less than 1/3 full...tourism to and from Turkey seems to be way down for a number of reasons. That made it spacious coupled with a relaxed pace of passengers and crew. The lunch served was quite tasty and satisfying. No hassles about carryons weight or size. Electronics aboard seemed to work fine for those interested."

She was ignored at counter, mr. M. Meindle told her to step aside and it was not “worth arguing”! The people she sought direction from, are the ones that left her confused and ignored. Shame on them"

Plussat: "The plane was very clean and I appreciated when the crew asked passengers have their seats in a normal upright position during meal times as there is very little space when the seats are reclined. We can hardly get out of our seats when other passengers need to go to the restrooms."
Miinukset: "The crew was rather cold; I got the feeling they were doing their jobs but not in a warm and customer friendly oriented way, may be because I was in Economy. I was surprised by the lack of space in economy for such a long Haul flight in an A 380."
Plussat: "Had ridiculously long bus ride from terminal to plane. Plane was parked on the outer reaches of the airport. This happens far too often on Lufthansa when connecting in Franfort. Build more gates!!"
Miinukset: "Business clsss sweats on A321 were coach seats with the center seat left empty. Not sir it is worth the higher fare."
Plussat: "Nothing this was a nightmare."
Miinukset: "We missed our connected flight because or flight was delayed... this does not make any sense. If the flight is delayed, there should be proper high priority check in and bus transport implemented so we arrive at our gate on time. Me and the 2 other passengers had zero chance to arrive on time and were at a loss of breath. And i paid for my selected seats to which i am asking for a refund because what happened was unacceptable. When we addressed our concern, the lufthansa employee told us that u cannot have buses for all the passengers in a situation of a delay.... unacceptable.... how is this the client's fault to miss a flight due to a delay?"

Miinukset: "My seat did not recline, the seatback was dirty, the seats were very thin, and I could feel every movement from the person behind me. There was no in-flight entertainment, no USB ports or outlets."
Plussat: "The flight attendants were very attentive. It's clear they hire for people with high EQs."
Miinukset: "Not enough leg room. Media box under the seat in front of me so no room to put my carry on under the seat. Also, breakfast was skimpy. Some fruit and a muffin."

Plussat: "So because of tge traffic and snow i got at the airport 25 min before the departure of my flight...but when i explained my situation every employee tried their best to help me in getting on the plane, by even opening the gate for me!! They were very helpfull, fast and efficient. Thanks to their kindness and efficiency i was able to get on the plane and see my family at home. I am verry thankfull to all the staff for it!"

Miinukset: "Frankfurt airport is dreadful. I'm elderly and being forced to climb up and down stairs to the Tarmac with luggage and then crammed into a bus to the terminal was terrible. I would avoid Frankfurt at all costs. Lufthansa needs to take some initiative with this."
Miinukset: "Water was spilled on me by flight attendant. Luggage was left in Frankfort. Did not have clothes or medications, or daily necessities. Must wait 1 1/2 days to get luggage"

Miinukset: "The seats in the economy class are too small. Not once did I have someone sitting next to me who could actually fit in his seat. They weren't particularly large people, just average men but their arms were in my space all the time. Also if I drop something, I cannot pick it up, there's no room. For transatlantic flights the seats should be bigger."

Miinukset: "There was no update on the status of our connecting flight. The pilot gave an update of other flights except for ours but it caused a bit of confusion. Some people even had to missed there flights altogether! Lufthansa, from the 4 times I have flown with them always seems to be late with no sense of urgency. Ultimately after arriving in Venice, I get an email that my bags did not make it, yet I was told by the boarding agent that the plane was still loading our bags."

Miinukset: "- Delay > 2 hours and no info at gate at the time of planned boarding - unfriendly ground staff and chaotic check in - old 747, "entertainment 1970s standard - crew looked unkempt (like just out of bed), unfriendly to downright rude, my 85 year old mum was ignored repeatedly and ended up not getting enough fluids as a result - 1/8 crew members managed a smile on occasion - rushed meal "service", all they wanted was to disappear to sleep - crammed spaces - while it was announced "we have three different meal choices, you will have at least two choices" - ummm, no, it was pasta. Period. To be fair the pasta turned out ok. The morning dry ham and cheese bun was not, especially without any drink."

Miinukset: "No food/snacks after a long first flight. At first it looked like we were in first class, then they decided to move it a few rows up after everyone was seated."
Plussat: "Main issue was the food was not as expected, it was a problem with kids food. Entertainment was also with No update movies, more of them classic or old."

Miinukset: "Bathroom was at the back of the plane and the drink service was slow so I had top wait overt half an hour to use the bathroom; I was in row 4."
Miinukset: "No seating area at or near the gate we boarded at, and as boarding was delayed, many people ended up standing for some time because we did not wish to wander too far and then be late for boarding."
Plussat: "Very friendly and accommodating crew, efficient service, nice breakfast pastry for the short flight to Frankfurt"
Miinukset: "Would have been nice to have an entertainment option, but I had a book, so the 2.5 hrs went fast enough."

Miinukset: "The seat pitch is inhumane. I could barely fit into the seat without hitting my knees on the seat in front. And that was before the person ahead of me reclined. It's not like Lufthansa is a budget airline. It's a full-fledged major carrier charging full-fledged prices. Seriously, I was expecting more."

Miinukset: "We had to take a bus from the gate to the plane, it took forever to pick us up, and then drove so far getting to the plane, we felt like we must be driving all the way to Venice!"

Plussat: "Absolutely nothing. Despite booking business class flights 3 months before departure date because we had to attend a very important wedding. Swiss Airlines overbooked the flight but didn’t warn us in advance. This meant my husband was forced to pay over 8 thousand Euros to charter a small private je"
Miinukset: "So That we could attend the wedding early the next morning in Oldenburg. They then had the audacity to void our return flights. Luckily I spoke with a lovely lady at Lufthansa, explained the situation and she re-instated return flights for an admin fee. Will never ever use Swiss Airlines again."

Plussat: "From start to finish, Sevdije was in great hands. She had to be in a wheelchair, and there were three connecting flights in countries where she doesn't speak the language. It could have been so complicated, and everyone made it SO EASY. She was all smiles when she arrived in Boston. THANK YOU!!!!!!"

Miinukset: "Couldn’t get on the flight due to two cancellations of prior connecting flights. Utterly, totally unacceptable - and no explanation of why."

Miinukset: "The muffin for breakfast as the only choice at the end of the flight is a joke: superloaded with sugar, chewy, artificiall taste. Most of the passengers sent it back. This has not improved since my last flight with Austrian in March 2018. The one reponsible for ordering such junk should be punished by having to eat the muffin himself. Sorry!"

So coming back into the states and thru customs took waaay longer than it should have with those chaotic and ridiculously long lines. I didn't bring my Global Pass card with me and will from now on!"

So on Dec 10 at 10:00 pm they send an e-mail to let me know that the flight from Budapest to Viena is canceled. I am glad that I decided to check my e-mail before I go to bad. So I try to call Austrian, but they work just from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. I start to search all the info the site of Austrian, and find one phone number that seats be working 24 hours. So finally I got a person on the phone who was able to help me. ..."

Plussat: "Nothing! I ended up losing my plane ticket because of Austrian Airlines lack of empathy with me."
Miinukset: "First I lost my United Airlines flight because of security reasons. I checked in Guatemala but I was delayed at the Airport's security too long, it was beyond my control. Consequently I got to the boarding gate right when they were closing. Consequently I lost all my connections from then on. The United Airlines was very empathizing with me and my situation and they issued me other boarding passes at no cost. United Airlines suggested me to tell the Austrian Airlines about what happened and they were sure the Austrian Airlines would understand but they were wrong; no understanding on behalf of the Austrian Airlines."
Plussat: "After flight to Vienna was cancelled, we were put on a flight to Frankfurt instead."
Miinukset: "Kayak sent me an email at 5:16am for an 8:15 am flight titled, "Austrian Airlines flight #704 from PRG on time". It was in fact cancelled. Unfortunately we missed the connection for the flight to Newark, which we were expressly told would be held for us... they shut the door 30 seconds before we arrived, with the plane still at the gate. Had to then go to the only counter in the terminal to see if we could get on standby. Finally got on a flight to JFK instead at 5:15pm."
Miinukset: "When our plane arrived late, many on board had missed connections. We received no help/guidance at gate, other than to be told to go up one floor. One floor up we had to go thru security to reach customer service. 100 people lined up for customer service from 3 Austrian airline reps. After 2 hours of standing, there were still 27 people ahead of me. The woman behind me gave me the local phone number for Austrian airlines and I was able to get on a flight to US leaving in 30 minutes. I managed to make it, and would not have had I waited another hour in line. Why no surge of staff to help? All 3 help numbers on my Lufthansa e-mail receipt could not help. Horrible experience."
Plussat: "Got to destination safe and sound and was thankful for that!"
Miinukset: "Boarding was messy. Food was ick- "chicken" tasted like a grade d boiled chicken nugget, terrible texture. Ladies on flight were kind, although not terribly helpful. Movie selection was pretty small and lots of Rated R movies, hard to find anything in the middle (not kids, but not adult)."

Miinukset: "The flight from Budapest to Vienna was delayed so we missed our connection to Tel Aviv. The behavior of the ground staff who were supposed to assist us was outrageous. They behaved like a low cost company with one answer to any request, and this is the word "NO". It does not seem logical that we ever go with Austrian again. We do deserve a compensation for the delay and the behavior."
Plussat: "Good food, lots of movies, flight attendants friendly"
Miinukset: "We paid to pre-book our seats and when we got on the plane they had been given away. We heard several different reasons, none of which made is feel better about the two middle seats we were told we had no choice but to take, while people who had NOT prepaid sat in our aisle seat. It was offensive to be forced to pay to select our seats in advance on a major international airline in the first place, and then to not have those honored just made it worse."

Miinukset: "The connecting flight from Vienna to TLV was terrible. Austrian airline employees at the airport are rude. The information about our connecting flight was not readily or easily accessible. The flight crew from Vienna to TLV were not kind. My daughter 11 years old went hungry without a meal. The stewardess kept telling her the food was coming & never did. This was a terrible trip & we will never use Austrian air again. I will tell all my family & friends of my terrible experience."

Miinukset: "Aircraft was older 777 and lavatories weren't very clean. Upon landing in Vienna, my mobility walker (tagged to be brought up to me at jetway) was sent to my connecting flight to Sophia. The flight crew refused to intercept it and have it brought up to me at the aircraft. To make matters much, much worse, the flight crew eventually gave up and left, leaving me LOCKED inside the jetway for over 30 minutes after calling for a wheelchair. The replentishment crew refused to let me out of the locked jetway. Only after the wheelchair arrived was I let out of the locked jetway. I was taken to the Austrian Airlines service center where I lodged a formal complaint. Supervisor/Rene refused to upgrade my seat in any fashion to compensate for my distress. He did, however, arrange for me to given access to the VIP lounge and then taken to my VIE-SOF gate. Had I had a shorter layover, I would have missed my connecting flight."
Plussat: "Short flight from Milan to Vienna. Easy check in -- which at MXP is always a plus and a relief, Crew was very friendly, attentive and focused on the passengers and their job. A smile is worth a million dollars!"

Miinukset: "When a bought my ticket, I had asked in the office about WiFi. They told me that you have WiFi on the plane. I had checked this information on KLM.com and saw the same, that you have WiFi. This was the reason, why a chose KLM! Then I tried to connected on board but I couldn’t! WiFi was not available. Crew told me that they don’t know anything about it! I was disappointed and angry."

Miinukset: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Miinukset: "I have never been in a situation were a flight has been delayed due to the co-pilot suffering a knee injury prior to take off. A request for a doctor on board after an hour or so and then having to leave the plane and then re-board after about 40 minutes was quite bizarre."

I had to sit on an angle (one butt cheek at a time) for 9 yours. I do not have a big butt either. This seat should have been a discounted seat, not a premium seat. I am so angry about this, I will NEVER fly Air France again."

Miinukset: "The cabin on the 777-200 was far too hot (about 25c) and with no individual air vent I found this unbearable on a 12 hour flight. And despite the flight taking place entirely during daylight hours and leaving at 10:30 am, inexplicably we were made to all pull our blinds down and the lights went off after a couple of hours - in the middle of the day and for about 8 hours! So although I had paid for a window seat there was nothing to see apart from the window shade. As it was the middle of the day I could not go to sleep, the person in front of me reclined fully so for me the flight was a hot, claustropobic, dark hell. An utterly miserable experience. I felt like I was going mad, trapped in my own little cell."
