He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

Plussat: "Only thing we liked was the fact that we were able to get onto our flight at all..."
Miinukset: "Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

Miinukset: "Didn't allow my carry on. Said too big. Same bag was on earlier connecting flight on much smaller plane. Also on flight on Southwest week prior. But larger intercontinental flight wouldn't allow it."
Plussat: "The pilot kept us informed periodically during our journey. I liked that we could choose our seating online. The entertainment was good."
Miinukset: "The plane was dirty, all seats did not have pillows and blankets. Seating was not very comfortable, particularly as there was a box attached to one of the legs of the seat in front of me, making it necessary to move my legs to an uncomfortable angle."
Miinukset: "Why do the crew have to slam the overhead and catering compartments to get them to shut?"
Miinukset: "KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight."
Plussat: "The crew were lovely and welcoming. We was given snacks and drinks on the flight which was great. Take off was a bit delayed but boarding was smooth. Couldn't complain about the comfort as was only just over an hours flight."

Plussat: "Efficiency and speed of boarding was acceptable. I have no complaints about that aspect. The Comfort+ seats were worth the upgrade, pretty comfortable and reasonable legroom unless you have a big carry on stowed under the seat in front of you."
Miinukset: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

Plussat: "My first part of the flight, from SFO to CPH, was good. It was the second part that was terrible."
Miinukset: "SAS never emailed the second boarding ticket and there was no agent at the gate to help me print one. I paid $20 days in advance for a front aisle seat (6E), but was boarded last (group H) and had to put my carry-on in aisle 26. The stewardess was very rude and seemed racist towards me."

Miinukset: "My flight was cancelled and no one notified me! Instead, FlyUs.com placed me on a different SAS flight that had a 15 minute layover in Copenhagen. Needless to say, I would have missed the flight from Copenhagen. I realized the issue the day-of, spent hours on the phone trying to book a different flight through the customer services at FlyUs.com (stupid company!), and was finally rebooked by SAS on a different airline. When I called SAS directly, they immediately took care of the situation and handled it well, but I wasted an entire day dealing with FlyUs.com, waiting on confirmation for a flight that I was never going to receive. The whole experience was awful."
Plussat: "Fairly new plane."
Miinukset: "Only airline that made us check in our luggage; and charged us an exorbitant amount (+/- $90 per luggage) in doing so. No customer service at all. 1st attendant wouldn’t let us check-in at the counter, and 2nd attendant made us check in our carry-on despite it only being 2kg over. We could’ve moved some items around. When we boarded the plane, we saw multiple people whose carry-on looked suspiciously over the weight limit. We felt singled out. It was obvious that this airline only cares about profit and does not care about the customer. Attendants were rude and not helpful. Needless to say I will nit fly with this airline again."

Plussat: "The travel magazine was excellent. Flight attendant wasn't rude, but I didn't find him friendly or welcoming. He gave tea/coffee and water to both of the men sitting with me but not me even though I asked for it. One of the men gave me his water and told the attendant I had asked for one."

Miinukset: "The flight from EWR to Oslo was delayed by over 2 hours which meant I would miss my next connection... and I understand that happens sometimes. But, it was after hours on the airline number phone number and the fly.com customer service could not help with finding an alternate connection from Oslo to FRA. It was frustrating to then have to wait at Oslo airport for another 4 hours before the new connecting flight."
Miinukset: "Bad food Bad service Dirty plane Bad choice of movie collection You only get one glas of non alcoholic drink with your main meal. If you want more you have to pay ! Thats not a good service for a long trip fligt: washington-copenhagen and back. All other Airlines i have been with gives you a choice to choose between 2 different meals, buT SAS they decide for you ! And i have never seen any airline serve pork/ ham because of different believes people have, but SAS service you pork on an international 8 hours flight ! This is first time and last time I’m gonna fly with SAS. I always fly with KLM , perfect in everything and anyway. NO MORE SAS FOR ME !"

Miinukset: "The crew passed by me TWICE while serving food and I was not sleeping at that time. I had to go and ask for food myself. Also there was a delay about 40 minutes when taking off in CPH (CPH-EWR) because of a fuel-screen malfunction or smth. The pilot was very nice and kept us informed all the time. I still didn't make my connection flight due to the delay and SAS rebooked me which made my already long trip 8 hrs longer."
Plussat: "I liked the high-tech adjustment on the seats but i am 6ft2, 200 lbs (in good shape) and I have Parkinson's disease. The seat was just not roomy enough and I had to get up at least once an hour."
Miinukset: "The crew was very understanding and kind. The aft head was very limited in space too. A little more room would have been most welcome."

Not stand and fight to get food because your airline gives no snacks or drinks!! It's like entering prison for 2hrs"

Miinukset: "Bag drop line was over 45 min. Only 2 attendants. Flight was late taking off. Baggage fee was outrageous. Site said 1 free bag, but that is carry on only. Checked bag was €70!!!! The flight was only $85."
Plussat: "We got to sit in the emergency aisle so I can't complain about comfort. The staff was really friendly (although they were really rude on the way over 10 days earlier, so I guess we just got lucky with a nice crew for this one)."
Miinukset: "You only get one free non-alcoholic drink on this flight and that's really stingy for a 7+ hour a long haul. Drinks should be free on a long haul, especially non-alcoholic ones. There aren't any free small snacks like chips or peanuts. You have to pay for everything and the menu is exorbitantly over priced. It's a cheap and insulting customer strategy. They can save a few bucks in overhead on each customer this way, but they are losing money in the long run because I'll never book with them again due to their tawdry actions. I doubt I am alone."

Miinukset: "SAS does not even offer wine with the meal, you have to pay for it. Additionally they have the strange policy that they give drinks at frost, that is ALL drinks, including the meal drinks, and then comes the meal about half an hour later. The do not offer ANY drinks with the meal."

The seatrs were the most uncomfortable I have ever beeon on for a long flight. I also paid extra to be in the exit row, to have people constantly congregating in front of us.The food was also mediocre."
Miinukset: "This airline charges for everything, and after you pay once, they try to charge you again, and again, and again (four different people tried to charge me 4 different times for my two checked bags). And they lost the record of my payment, so I had to show 4 times the Amex receipt showing that I had paid before. It took 45 minutes and 4 non receptive agents for me to get my luggage checked. British Airways is significantly better."

Flight kept getting delayed then we had a gate change as well. Finally got on the plane and it took forever to take off so we were basically sitting in a sauna for 30+ minutes."

There was plenty of room, I had breakable stuff in my luggage, didn´t get the chance to choose. No entertainment AT ALL. Confort: no leg space at all. Not an AirFrance plane, subcontracted. Lousy food."

Would have been better to spend that time in the terminal and given credits to buy food, etc. My seat was a regular seat (non exit) and the seat did not recline properly, the USB drive was broken, overall the plane felt unmaintained. The crew was friendly and food was good but I felt not enough was done to accommodate the extra hours we had to wait on the plane."

Unable to deplane down them with both purse and small carryon. Someone always has to help me carry my carryon plus theirs as there is no provision for help from the airline. American seems to be only airline to do this, I will have to reconsider flying with you in the future."

Miinukset: "The overhead space was smaller on this plane and as I learned on my trip to DTW my weekender carry-on would not fit with my shoes in it. Because of this, I pulled my shoes out and put them in a collapsible bag that fit under the seat in front of me along with my small personal bag as I had done on my previous flight. However, the gate agent would not allow me to board the plane and would not listen to my explainations at all as I tried to keep the boarding process moving along. She kept repeating "you have 3 bags" and made me steep out of line and check my carry-on (which I would then have to pick up at baggage claim). When I asked why I couldn't get out on the jetway like she had done for other passengers she said, " I only did that for airline employees" (quick happened to be a flight attendant from Spirit). My overall experience on both flights to and from Detroit was that the gate agents and flight attendants were the most unhelpful and rude airline employees I have delt with and I will stick to my preferred carrier, Delta, for my future flights back and forth to Detroit. They certainly make me feel like a valued customer when I fly them, which I did not feel with American."

Miinukset: "But it is a 3-3 and there no room to sit cause we are hip to hip which means shoulders overlap shoulders. It is horrible. Avoid this plane at all costs. It's really bad. Pitch of leg room is barely OK but side to side they have sunk to a new low. The new plane doesn't blow any air. Terrible system. Really? That should be easy to fix."
Plussat: "It's pretty rare I can sleep on a plane, but I actually got some rest; very grateful for that."
Miinukset: "At 6'7", basic coach on a 737 is painful on the knees. I realize I can exit row for an upcharge, but that's kind of messed up, isn't it?"

Miinukset: "My first flight was canceled then they took it upon themselves to bump me off the next light and put me on the latest flight where I got there at 11 o'clock at night then on the way home it was delayed again I missed my connecting flight and then he put me on the latest flight again it was a complete nightmare"
Plussat: "On time departure and arrival. Plane was clean and seating was not uncomfortable althouth they didn't recline very much. Short flight so it was o.k."
Plussat: "The plane was clean, a/c worked well. Stewardesses offered food and drinks several times. Pilot repeatedly came over the intercom with updates on the flight."
Miinukset: "There was an annoying rattling noize coming from above my seat near the roof and wall."
Plussat: "Plane was delayed repeatedly, then cancelled. I missed work and was originally offered a flight for twi days later. That wouldve been three days in an airport ? I had to purchase a room, taxi, and then spend the following day in the airport as that flight was repeatedly delayed. I booked a direct flight and was not rescheduled for such. Still waiting for reply from American Airlines. First time flying with this carrier and disappointed is an understatement."
Plussat: "Loved that he was upfront with all of us that it would be a bumpy flight after about 20 minutes, which he was correct and very accurate."
Miinukset: "I thought his delivery sounded a little more "worrisome" than it needed to be. I thought that he could have expressed the same sentiment, while sounding more confident in his ability and more soothing for folks like me who despise turbulence:)"
