The flight was great. As far as the food is concerned it would be great to get little things like salt, pepper a small cube of butter (when bread is provided) with the meal.

Plussat: "I liked that the flight was not full and I was able to use the entire row of seats and lie down as straight as possible to get some sleep. The crew was very friendly and allowed us to sleep most of the flight --- I guess they figured that most of the travelers prefer to just sleep and not be disturbed during a 15-hour flight. There was a good selection of movies and shows to watch to pass the time. I liked that there was time to go on the city tour of Doha and that there is a counter at the airport for the city tour."

Plussat: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Miinukset: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

I said that my child had just vomited but there was no offer to help me clear it up they just continued serving food to other passengers. I had to search for someone to help me to clear up and then I felt as though I was an inconvenience. I then had to look for someone to bring food for myself and other child. My other child is 1yr and 11 months and I was told they were only allowed baby food not a child meal. Although there were a few spare seats on the plane I was squashed into a full row with a 3 yr old and one year old on my lap. I appreciate that there may not have been any bassinet seats left but would have been helpful not to be on a full row as a single adult travelling with two small children. No offers for assistance with bags."

I didn't pay a few hundred dollars extra for this."

Plussat: "I travel from Sydney to Europe (UK and Greece) regularly. My experience with Qatar airways was fantastic: I highly recommend it. First of all, the travelling hours are a bit shorter (compared to travelling via Singapore or Hong Kong) probably because of the geography of the cities/connections and the corresponding flight times between Athens-Doha-Sydney. The aircraft was exceptional (I believe it was Airbus A380). It was a double-deck, wide-body and four-engine jet airliner. Cabin and economy class seats were very comfortable and more spacious compared to other aircraft. There was minimal turbulence, which is partially due to the type of aircraft: at least this is my understanding. The aircraft also had wi-fi (complimentary for the first 15 min) and one was allowed to use the mobile phone during the flight (except during take off and landing times). The flight attendants were absolutely amazing. Also, the crew was very understanding and friendly with children. Food was also excellent and in good portions. Overall there was high tech aircraft, excellent service and no delays. I will choose it again in the future."

The flight attendants tried to sort it out, but it was not possible. They kindly brought complimentary magazines and drinks/snacks, however it would have been much preferable if I could watch a movie or if free wi-fi was offered for the whole flight, as compensation.. My understanding is that this was not an option, due to problems providing free password..."

Then wait for the previous minibus's crowd to clear then walk another flight of stairs up the plane :( I can accept this from a budget airline but not a commercial airline at a usual well-equipped airport especially when it's at its own home country."

Safety on plane was minimal to non existant. 2 year old girl freely running around and over seats, mum laid her on floor ALL while on run way taking off and on steep incline in air. Staff saw earlier on and did nothing, even stood there and spoke about it for a bit but left it."

I booked this through Travelgenio and requested a cancellation due to COVID related impact. Their customer service was absolutely terrible and they informed me after the flight had departed that they could not cancel my ticket. Worst experience, will never use them again. Strongly reconsidering using Kayak in future given how poor the travelgenio experience has been.

We arrived hongkong and was informed that our flight has been rebooked even though we can see that the plane was still there and staffs are still at the gate. We were transferred to a layover flight from HongKong to Aussie then Aussie to Auckland instead of going straight. Seats was set far apart with no competitions at all. Sorry is not enough for this big hassle."

Plussat: "What a difference after getting off BA! Staff wonderful, always happy to help and always a smile. PE seats on new A350 are great, although too much cheap, hard plastic on seat back. Very comfortable with great pitch. Food exceptional and beautifully presented. Dim sum for breakfast was sensational. Pier Business class lounge breathtaking, with several large rooms with different food options, served to you - the fresh made noodles a must - and a staffed, well stocked bar. Absolutely gorgeous space."
Miinukset: "Surprised (and first time on Cathay I've seen this) toilet was revolting towards end of flight. Movie selection disappointing, as not many new releases and not all that many others."
Plussat: "Access to Cathay lounge. Went to the Wing noodle bar and coffee loft. Had a good bite to eat before boarding flight running 15 mins late. My request to have my meal service delayed was welcomed by staf."

The rice dishes were gone both times when the food got to me. I can understand if it was just one meal, but it was disappointing that I wasn't able to eat rice during the whole 15 hours of trip. It would also be understandable if the row right before me wasn't served 20 mins prior to us, and the row right after me wasn't served 15 mins before us. I just couldn't understand how it was arranged. Maybe I should've ask for service right before they start serving meal."
Plussat: "This is a new Airbus very similar to Boing 777. All seats in Business class are isle seats. I also needed assistance which was also excellant cutting my time in Hong Kong from 1-1/2 hour to less than 1/2 hour."
Plussat: "Cathay Pacific is an amazing airline with the best economy service and best in-flight entertainment I've ever encountered. They really make you feel comfortable on lengthy trans-Pacific flights, and their hub in Hong Kong is spectacular."

Miinukset: "I booked through Budget Air and was initially online able to confirm seats and meals for my husband and I online with Qantas easily. Months out my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked onto a later flight that would have made us miss all of our transfers to our honeymoon on Fitzroy Island. Because I had booked through 'a 3rd party' Qantas refused to assist me. I managed to convince budget air to change our flights. We were moved to a jetstar flight from Melbourne to cairns. I had to confirm that this had occurred and go through multiple people online to reallocate seats and food options for my husband and myself again. Only my luggage allowance was carried across to jetstar and neither of our meal allowances were. When it came to online check-in with jetstar I could not check my husband in online only myself. I spoke to multiple people online who all confirmed they didn't know why or there was no problem and we should just present ID and check in in person. When we got to the airport Qantas had not transferred the e-ticket code across for my husband's booking and this is why we could not check him in online. The jetstar staff had to try to get his original booking code from Qantas. As it turned out I had to original booking code through budget Air in my hand and had to assert this information to staff. Flying back we were able to check in online fine with Qantas. Our boarding passes printed different sizes but did not present a problem when we dropped off our luggage. When we sent to check in the staff member couldn't get the smaller pass to read and my husband had to assert that he also had it on his phone. Despite all of my online conversations the aisle seat was allocated to me and not my husband who required it because of a medical condition and the flight was 30min delayed. We won't be traveling with Qantas or jetstar, or booking through budget Air again."
Miinukset: "Flight attendant kept forgetting to turn the entertainment back on after an announcement. Flight attendant sounded unprofessional over PA Would like more snacks - savoury and sweet, instead of just savoury. Snack was not sufficient for a 3 hour flight landing at 9pm. Had to wait on plane while airbridge was brought to the plane so everyone could disembark - “they weren’t expecting the flight!!” Whole flight still waiting for luggage after 55 minutes of standing at carousel and only after 55 minutes an announcement to say handlers are tending to a departure and we have to wait another 10 minutes - a whole hour for luggage - take carry on only next time!!!! 4 flights collecting luggage from the one carousel!!"
Plussat: "Fantastic service and overall experience on my first flight on a 787 Dreamliner. Flying QF50 with Qantas from SFO to Melbourne. Slept 8 hours. Will fly down from Sydney to leave via Melbourne in the future, such a good plane."

Miinukset: "The entertaimnet headset socket was faulty and I had to hold the jack in a specific way so I could hear the vocal channels. Sometimes it just dropped out all together. Tried multiple headsets but having the socket and jack on the inside of the armrest where it was so easily knocked by you leg was so incredibly stupid and made it hard to get comfortable or move position in the seat. First time I've ever seen this on a plane. Ok, so Qantas got us there safely but the inflight movies its what makes it bearable."

Miinukset: "broken tables and damaged seats ( electrical cords lose) they give you a menu and have no pre-dinner drink service don't ask for a drink after meals have been served - you won't get it too much service to ask for snacks after six hours - the staff eat them and give you their vegetarian sandwiches, then other crew try to say no that's not true - one of them is lying seats are tight - especially if you are 188cm tall. they throw all the cooked mid flight snacks out after three hours of being in the oven yet they don't walk up and down the isle and offer them to you. Yeah right - 23 staff eat them themselves. same movies and TV - I do a flight every month and its always the same with maybe one or two new movies added unloading oversize in LAX - give yourself at least 1.5 hours - they are slow and inefficient. Unloading in Melbourne was ok but bags took for ever. Wish they would go to Beijing or Shanghai and see how it is done in less than 15 minutes from docking. United/Delta is looking good at this stage"
Plussat: "I have a nut allergy and there are no nut free meal options to select prior to my flight. Worse still the attendants didn't bother to check the meal ingredients, something that was offered to me by the budget airline Fly Dubai."

Everything else was good or excellent -- especially food and airplane crew."

Apparently we cannot bring these items on the plane and no one told us, the customers who paid to board this flight. Plus the wifi was not free. And when we tried to use the wifi code we were given from the crew as a "perk" from our camera Ana iPads being taken, that still did not work. So that was a 13 hr flight with no wifi. Plus on my flight from Istanbul to Atlanta my Tv did not work and the crew didn't speak English and could not understand my complaint. Overall the worst flight ever, close to a Delta flight which everyone knows is the bottom of the barrel of airlines. When we finally arrived in Atlanta it took 3 HOURS to get our baggage. We landed at 7:45 PM and did not get our bags until 11 pm. We were not told what the delay was and to just be patient. I will a NEVER take this airline agin."

We got home 15 hours later than we should have. Miinukset: "I come from a poor background and it's sad to see that in order to have first class it'll cost you more than what I make in almost 5-6 months just to have a little more comfort... I'm not a big fan of the comfort side of the plane. You only go back so far and if you have a middle seat like I did you have to try in sleep in an upright position practically looking forward. Extremely difficult and really uncomfortable. If it wasn't for the Cafine drinks and entertainment I would of probably gone crazy. Metaphorically speaking."
