Plussat: "Was able to get home toward Los Angeles with delays and change in plane so did not get proper seating as reserved."
Miinukset: "The plane was delayed from Tokyo to Los Angeles due to a pilot staffing issue. The plane stopped in Honolulu at 6:00AM in the morning and no staff was able to assist so they made everyone go through the run-around to have the luggage scanned for agriculture. Then they stated that even though we had pre-check, we did not qualify and the boarding pass was not issued with Honolulu to LAX. Over 5 hours delay and did not know that we could have stayed in Hawaii free room and meals. Terrible and one of the worst vacations ever for returning to the US. The food was not great."

Plussat: "Our flight was delayed due to lightning strike on arriving flight, we were transferred to non stop EVA Airline so we can get home and not need a connecting flight in Japan. JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."

Plussat: "Their customer service is excellent! when I left my card (fell out of my pursue while in transit), they called me immediately! After a long vacation, exploring. I was extremely tired and and left my phone completely on silent for 4 days, and within those 4 days they called and left me messages. Lucky I live here in Hawaii, can you imagine being a tourist and you lost your card? Excellent customer service."

Miinukset: "Our flight was delayed for two hours. We have a connecting flight from Osaka to Los Angeles, which we were worried we couldn't make it. They told me the flight will wait for us because there were 20 plus people also need to get on that plane. When the time of boarding we heard they were calling us to the front and explained the flight we were suppose to be connecting already took off. They had to booked us to another airline. We were extremely disappointed! We asked if we could took another Japanese airline but they said our luggages were already transferred to that airline and the tickets were printed! Mosf importantly we have already waited in airport 5 hours and they needed us to wait for another 3 hours! Very bad experience with how they dealing with this situation!"

Plussat: "The food is good. The seats for regular economy are a bit more spacious. They also have some deal with fast food restaurants, Mos Burger and Yoshinoya so sometimes you can get their air version of the fast-food meals. I had Yoshinoya and it was pretty good. The entertainment was okay, the only 2 things I wanted to watch was John Wick 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but the movies change every month so it was probably a bad batch. Also free toothbrushes and toothpaste available on the plane and a self service snack area. Overall it was great."

Plussat: "I feel like I got way more than what I paid for with this airline! The hostesses were super friendly always offering some sort of beverage, the food was tasty (Be careful not to drop noodles on yourself like I did, those bad boys left a little mark). The video selection wasn't huge, but it was definitely adequate with good titles. Maybe I haven't noticed this before in other airlines, but they had new toothbrushes (packaged, not someone's forgotten toothbrush) in the restroom so the poor sap next to me didn't have to smell my stinky breath. Finally, they were quick with boarding! They were very punctual and we took off right when we got on, so nice!"
Miinukset: "The seats were pretty adequately sized, however, I felt like I couldn't lay back too far or if the the person in front of me did, it made it really difficult to get the seats. Also, I thought it was my headphones, but it happened on a couple of flights with different headphones, but the audio only comes out of one earphone which was slightly annoying... Other than those things, JAL is super solid and I would recommend it to anyone considering them."

Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Miinukset: "I'm an entertainer, very well respected in Hawaii, Japan and the world. and has always traveled JAL. I travel with my guitar and has never had a problem carrying it on board. The staff will usually come a get it and put it in the closet if it didn't fit in the overhead. But I guess recently rules change, and was told I would have to check it in because the closet space is used only for staff and business people. Was told that the 737 was to small for my guitar won't fit overhead. I have taken 737's all my life with Aloha Airlines and told them that my guitar would fit. That gentleman was a JERK! and was'nt very helpful, and told me I couldn't take it on board and I would have to take it to the package store and have them box it up. That spoiled my whole vacation."

Meal service was also very slow - took over 50 minutes to serve the economy cabin. There was no choice of main available.. Main was an array of fish cakes type street snacks. It was edible but not impressive."

Miinukset: "Plane condition: Cosmetic plastic panel below monitor and seat back pocket on Seat 31E fell off when foot rest was lowered; had previously been secured by adhesive tape. Panel removed by crew. In-flight entertainment system: Persistent intermittent loss of sound while listening to movie or TV program. Food: Tried to use "Book the Cook" feature touted by Singapore's website. Was unable to get on site for that purpose. The last try a message appeared (late September) that site was being "rebuilt." On the flight, there was no menu of choices; we were offered 3 vaguely worded choices which boiled down to beef, chicken or vegetables. Those appeared in not particularly appetizing forms and combinations--P.S., we like east and southeast Asian cooking and had just spent 3 weeks in Japan. Failure to provide information about possible delays due to WRG deplaning location at LAX: Although we are frequent fliers to and from LAX, we'd never heard of the WRG. It would have been helpful if the crew had informed us upon arrival that there could possibly be a wait on the plane as buses were used to transport us approximately 1/2 mile to TBIT. Generally: We chose Singapore because of its reputation for excellence. Belying the name of the class, both Turkish AL and Air NZ treated Premium Economy passengers as "junior" business class. Singapore treated us as coach with a roomier cabin and seating pitch."

Plussat: "Same as my trip to Japan. Crew was great, boarding was easy, seats were pretty comfortable, food was great, and entertainment awesome. Gave socks and toothbrush amenities, along with the normal pillow and blanket."
Miinukset: "It felt a tad bit hot in the plane. No personal vents to adjust to one's own desire."

Miinukset: "First experience with Singapore where the crew made a negative impression. As soon as the plane pulled away from the terminal, crew members seemed rushed and frantic, literally running back and forth from Economy Premium to the galley gathering items. Approximately every 7-10 minutes, crew members would be running back and forth next to my seat with heavy foot steps, which would wake me up. I also noticed that certain crew members were shouting at passengers to get their attention instead of lowering themselves to be heard. One flight attendant almost spilled orange juice on me because she turned around too fast trying to serve drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, or if it was the influence of a certain crew boss, but something was definitely wrong."

Plussat: "Boarding was good and the flight time was shorter than expected."
Miinukset: "My son did not like any of the meal selections between beef and fish. We asked for a ramen noodle cup instead that the flight crew denied they had, only after seeing them offer it to another family just seconds before. I was very disappointed!! I believe the flight attendant knew of my concerns because she started asking me if the service was ok. If your doing a good job, then you won’t have to ask."

Miinukset: "We were not provided vegetarian food on two legs of journey although we had earlier informed the airlines."

Miinukset: "racial discrimination by the flight attendants thinking that I didn't know Japanese language even though I was white. I could see it happening."

Miinukset: "Some of the male crew didn't do anything, the females did all the interactive work in serving and helping the disabled as far as I could see."

Plussat: "Everything was pretty great. Crew is very nice. Food was very good actually. 2 meals with snacks when asked. Hot towels were given a couple of times. Drinks were served and offered throughout the flight. Socks and toothbrush also given. Entertainment was great with a good mix of movies. Chairs were comfy and leg space was ok."
Miinukset: "I don't think I would complain about the space otherwise except that the person in front of me decided to recline their chair all the way back. It was a tight and fairly uncomfortable ride the rest of the time."

Plussat: "The crew was really great, so friendly and accommodating. I wasn't able to order a vegetarian meal ahead of time, but they still gave me one on board when I asked. There was an amazing selection of movies and they refilled my drinks without even asking. I would recommend this airline to anyone traveling to Asia."

Plussat: "I traveled Premium Economy. It was well worth the extra cost over regular Economy. The food was great, the crew was great, the flight was very comfortable."

Plussat: "Best coach experience I have had. Good airplane food. Gracious service. Tail wind made us early which was a good thing because LAX is such a mess and it would have been difficult to make our connection with the long bus ride and 2.5 mile walk to the Alaska terminal."

Plussat: "Check in and boarding were flawless. The flight left about one hour late. The seats in coach are getting smaller and smaller. I got an aisle seat to have a little extra room (I'm 6'1") only to get hit big time by the food cart (they did apologize). The food was plentiful, but mediocre at best. The flight attendants were working hard, but we're abrupt and tired. Overall, I have three stars, when in the past, flying SA was always a five star experience. It got me back home though. :)"

Plussat: "What did I like??? Um, EVERYTHING! First off I got a great price under $850 round trip to NRT from LAX was a steal! They let you check two large suit cases plus a carry on and a personal item. That all FREE!!! I travel pretty light but it was great to know they don't Nickle and dime you for bags or anything else for that matter. Staff looks amazing and treats you first class even when your in economy. They are so polite and really genuinely want to give you a above and beyond experience. And they over achieve at it! They meals are great and very satisfying. The planes are big and roomy even in economy seats. On our return flight we had a brand new plane which had a sleek touch screen monitor and controller. There mad tons of media available (articles, language games, games, movies, tv shows and more) with USB ports to charge devices on each seat. Plus 10inch personal monitors. Earbuds were included free of charge, aswell as socks toothbrush and tooth paste. They have is two big meals on our direct flight (awesome that they have direct flights). Plus, they offered free snacks too and gave us a full can of soda vs. a small cup. They come through several times offering coffee, tea, water and snacks. All free of charge. This was my first time flying Singapore Airlines and I loved it!!! I wish Everyone was this amazing! Norwegian Airlines was the opposite as far as charging for everything! Had to pay each stop for any luggage ($100 per checked bag). No meals free or charge. They wanted money for everything! And yea a skimpy sandwich was $9.00 :(."

Miinukset: "This trip was not quite as excellent as my flights on Singapore Airlines usually are; however, I cannot say for sure there was much that airline staff could have done to change this. A great deal of turbulence earlier in the flight made it difficult to enjoy the food. Also, there was a sewage-like smell that wafted through the air periodically - this could have been a child in the surrounding seats, though. Both of these issues seem difficult for the airline staff to address, however, unless the smell actually came from a problem with the ventilation system. The staff was exceptionally helpful and good-natured, though, which made the biggest difference. Thank you so much."

Plussat: "I would definitely fly with Singapore again. Their staff is super attentive, they have lots of options for in-flight entertainment and things generally went smoothly. I didn't sign up for a special allergy meal ahead of time but they were able to accommodate me anyways."
Miinukset: "The food was overcooked, mushy and tasted old. The seats were small and didn't recline very much. I think these things are kind of normal now on most airlines."

Plussat: "every thing was ex best flight I have ever went on. I would rec your services to anyone."

"Coach seats are just too cramped for an 14 hour and 45 minute flight. Not the airlines fault, that is just the way it is today. Great incentive to upgrade to Business Class, but that would have been an extra $970, not in the budget for my company. I will say this, the meals and flight attendants are world class, even in Coach. I had a blind woman sitting in front of me and the genuine care that the flight attendant proactively provided was heartwarming and inspirational. I was moved by the personal touch and genuinely sincere interest by the fight attendant in this woman's experience and safety. Every aspect of the journey, this particular flight attendant made the airline proud."

They treated some senior citizens passengers who wouldn’t understand english with some disrespect. In addition, we had some problem with meal that was pre-ordered. It was probably system glitch but our meal selection wasn’t registered and Crew didn’t have idea about our meal."

I should have suspected a problem when I was requested to change seat in order to assist a family who were in separate seats. Moving was difficult as the plane was being loaded. I managed to get to the seat offered to find someone sitting in it. To top it off the individual was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a large immigration bag. I requested a seat forward but I was denied and I later saw other passengers moved forward to seats that I was denied. If I had known that the flight would have been full of possibility sick immigrants I would have chosen another flight or airline. At certain times the smells were very bad. I felt as a ff member I should have been treated better or been made aware of possible health risks."

After going through the whole security screening process to enter the departures area (I boarded in Singapore), the whole security process is performed again to get to the gate. Why do I and my carry-on luggage need to be checked twice? Once at the gate, all passengers are herded like sheep into an area that has insufficient seats for the number of passengers, so many are left to stand or sit on the floor. If the airline wants to use a plane that carries 500+ passengers, then use a gate that can accommodate that number."

Only found out that the flight may be cancelled from an email from kayak. Eventually got on a flight 6 and a half hours later. When leaving the board still said ek5101 delayed. I am sure if left up to Emirates / Qantas we would still be sitting at Dubai looking at the board."

They then said we were no shows and cancelled all our remaining flights with no refund. This ended up costing us around $3000. We don't have this kind of money and I don't know how we will pay rent next month."

Instead of beginning boarding at the time printed on my ticket, like every other airline, boarding was completed and closed fifteen minutes before my ticket said they would start, so even though I was eight minutes early I was actually seven minutes too late. Turkish Airlines service desk took the evidence (my ticket) and then refused to rebook me, forcing me to pay $600 for a new flight and for a visa to Turkey just so I could exit through security to book & pay for it. They will not be getting any more of my business in the future!"

Miinukset: "This was one of the worst days of my life, health-wise, so it could be that my observation of the passage of time was somewhat distorted, but Turkish did everything either slowly, or more slowly on this day. First, name two things on a flight line that are wheeled, movable objects. Did you answer bus and plane? Well done. So if both bus AND plane are theoretically mobile, why then must I endure a long walk AND a long bus ride? Boarding was an hour-long event, probably due again to inefficient ground services. I fell asleep and woke up twice before it was over."

We ended up stranded in Istanbul. The Turkish Airlines representatives were very rude and not helpful at all. They told me that we needed to purchase new tickets. My 14 year old and I were in Istanbul, Turkey with no way home. After hours on the phone with their customer service and many repeated phone calls and many collect phone calls to the United States, my mother was finally able to secure new plane tickets for $2000 one way for us to return to the states. We were in the airport for 24 hours before we could board a flight to make our way home. A few days after we arrived back is when the terrorist attacks occurred. I have been plagued with flashbacks of our time in the Istanbul airport. I feel that Turkish Airlines could have done a better job at trying to accommodate us in a time of desperation. I have been reluctant to contact them upon my return and a friend offered to call on my behalf and was treated in the same disrespectful manner. I would hate to think that Turkish Airlines could be representative of the people of Turkey. I can't imagine that Turkey or the citizens of this beautiful country could treat visitors in such a fashion. I appreciate your time in reading about our personal and devastating experiences during our trip that was to have been the trip of a lifetime with my son."

Plussat: "I flew Paris -Hong Kong(round trip) with transfer in Istanbul and overall everything was ok. The in-flight service was great, food was very good and their fleet seems quite new and clean."
Miinukset: "Thw only aspect I didn't like was the fact that our flight from Istanbul to Hong Kong was delayed and that is not a big problem,flights gets delayed all the time. But the attitude we got from the ground staff in the airport was a big problem. We got to the customer service counter to get further information about the flight and nobody was giving us any information.Not even an apology for the fact that we waited for 3 hours in an airport at 2 AM. Everybody seemed so bored,that they barely spoke 3 words.They offered us a voucher at Burger King, but we couldn't order anything from the menu,but the simplest burger. We just expected a bit more from an airline that has somebody dressed as a chef on-board while serving the in-flight meals."

Plussat: "I'll start with the food. Authentic Turkish cuisine with multiple options. The entertainment trumps the food with dozens of movies. Let's face it, this isn't Emirates, but you can't go wrong with 15+ recent movies for a 10 hour flight. I watched three and even got some sleep."
Miinukset: "Service was subpar, but this was a full flight. Boarding was pretty terrible with 3 security lines. The lines themselves were not a problem, but they did not provide nearly enough room at the gate for this, and the boarding started 2 hours before scheduled take off. Personally, I'd rather not sit on a plane for an hour before having to sit through a 10 hour flight, but we were not given a choice."

The person in front of me had his chair pushed all the way back, what the hell was the crew member thinking? I still did not move my chair and argued with the female crew. Crew members do not treat everyone equally. I asked for functioning pair of headphones and water, crew members never brought them to me. Responded by saying yes, BUT never brought it to me. I noticed crew members treated children and Turkish passengers first. I'm Chinese and flew Turkish airline- I felt the discrimination. Never traveling with Turkish airlines AGAIN."

Plussat: "DIRECT FLIGHT TO ISTANBUL FROM MIAMI. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS IN A RUSH TO REACH TURKEY FOR A MEETING. USUALLY I PREFER TO GO THRU ROME WITH A FEW DAYS LAY OVER SO THAT I CAN HAVE BETTER SERVICE, FOOD AND PAMPERED TREATMENT AS BUSINESS CLASS SERVICE SHOULD BE. WHO CHOSE THEM TO BE THE "BEST AIRLINE IN EUROPE"?? AS THY CLAIM TO BE!! BLIND PEOPLE??"
Miinukset: "DAMAGED MY LUGGAGE EXTENSIVELY, THIS IS THE THIRD TIME BY THE WAY), KEEPS REFERRING ME TO AN INSURANCE CO WITH AN E MAIL ADDRESS THAT DOES NOT RESPOND, NO TELEPHONE NUMBER BY THE WAY IS FURNISHED EVEN THOUGH I HAD ASKED FOR, REPEATEDLY. -HAD TO WAIT TO PAY FOR BUSINESS UPGRADE SINCE THERE WAS ONLY ONE PERSON TRYING TO COLLECT OVERWEIGHT LUGGAGE PAYMENTS AS WELL AS UPGRADE PAYMENTS, WHILE KEEPING ME IN LINE FOR 45 MINUTES FOR A BIZ CLASS UPGRADE. AFTER I PROTESTED, A TURKISH LADY SUPERVISOR SMIRKINGLY SAID THAT I HAD TO WAIT IN LINE SINCE THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON SERVICING! GO FIGURE!. VERY TURKISH APPROACH I WOULD SAY. PASS THE BUCKET.. -NO CONCERN FOR BUSINESS CLASS SERVICE. PLEASE TELL THEM TO GO AND TRAVEL IN ALITALIA, SWISSAIR, UNITED, DELTA, VIRGIN (THE BEST) ,BUSINESS CLASS AND SEE HOW THEY PAMPER THEIR CUSTOMERS FROM CHECK IN, TO GREAT AND AMPLE GOOD FOOD AND CONTINUOUS SERVICE. -UNLIKE THY STALE, FROZEN FOOD. BAD BREAKFAST, NO AMPLE CHESE SELECTION (ONE SLICE WHITE CHESE ONLY), OVER COOKED BAD BURNED TASTING TEA. -SERVICE: THE MALE STEWARD DROPPED SALAD ON THE NEXT SEAT AND IT STAYED THERE FOR 5 HOURS. PICKED UP BY A FEMALE STEWARDESS AS WE ARE LANDING. IF THEY WISH TO USE MORE MALES ON BOARD THEY SHOULD AT LEAST TRAIN THEM WELL. I HAD TO WAIVE AT 3 DIFFERENT MALE STEWARDS AND THEY ALL PASSED BY NOT ACKNOWLEDGING AND I WAS SITTING ON THE FIRST ROW AISLE! THEY ARE RUDE, UNCARING, SHODDY SERVICE PEOPLE.."
