In my case I had several electronic items which I had to carry onto the aircraft and store awkwardly which created a major risk of my camera and laptop being damaged in the process. This is not the kind of service I expect from Qatar Airways, especially considering the exorbitant ticket prices."

Plussat: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Miinukset: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Miinukset: "-my seat did not recline, which I understand that I was close to the emergency exit but the person in front of me could still put their seat back way farther than they should be able to and I was unable to do simple things like put my glass of water on my tray -I had a vegetarian meal which was literally just rice and ground up brown mush-I have no idea what that much was -I asked twice for new headphones because my was broken but they forgot -When the flight attendant was coming around with water and she looked me to see if I wanted any and I said yes, she just skipped over me. I didn't pay a few hundred dollars extra for this."

Miinukset: "Menu choice was very basic and quantity was also poor. Food quality was below par in terms of taste and presentation. In-flight crew was inefficient and flow. Meal trays laid on meal tables for hours after the passengers finished food. Flight attendants literally responded in over 30 min of call. I pressed special meals online before boarding. However, the flight attendants were not sure. They went back to kitchen to verify that and return with the ordered meal."

This caused over 3.5 hour late arrival into Istanbul. This caused me to miss onnnection flight. There was very poor information or guidance by staff once we arrived into airport. I had to walk long long distances from the gate without assistance. I had requested wheelchair assistance considering I just had spinal cord surgery and In need of assistance. I was forced to stay over night in Istanbul and waited over 12 hours next day in airport for next available flight to Thessaloniki. I missed my brothers wedding night and could not be his best man for wedding from ordeal which was not fair! I also payed a premium price close to 1000k USA dollars for flight I could of booked many tickets with such a long layover and extra expenses buying a visa and food for half the fare I payed. This was not fair especially when a plane is diverted for medical emergency! To top it all off being a medical doctor I loaned and assisted staff with passenger and offered my consultation. services to emergency medical physician whom was called by crew for help and finally which reccomended to divert flight to Manchester to assist the passenger In crisis! Miinukset: "I have been traveling 40 times on this flight (Geneva-Istanbul-Mogadishu) and since 2014 the food is all the same: insipid and at some occasion got a food poisoning (always traveled economic). Same dry or overcook pasta and dubious meat. So on my profile (i am an Elite frequent flyer) i ticked that I prefer a special meal (sea food).. which is never available. So they apologize and promised they will make a commercial gesture that... never came."

Seat selection is free if flight departure is less than 24 hours away but available seats are all random."

Plussat: "I flew economy Melbourne > Abu Dhabi and then Abu Dhabi to Melbourne. The first leg of the flight was great, the flight wasn’t full and I had a whole row to myself. The flight attendant even gave me some tips to ensure nobody sat there. This flight was on an A380 so the plane was large and it felt spacious."
Miinukset: "There are a number of things that Etihad do that just degrade the quality and experience of the flight and I probably wouldn’t fly with them again as a result. I’ve listed these below: 1) Entertainment system is poorly appointed and travel in two seperate months found that little had been refreshed on the in flight programs. 2) The entertainment system is deactivated until the seat belt sign is turned off, and is deactivated again about 30 minutes prior to landing. 3) You practically have to cut off your arm to get some water. I would always bring my own water on the flight, but Australian regulations prevent more than 100mls being carried on flight. 4) The service is inconsistent, some staff are just downright rude and others are incredibly friendly. The time waiting after pressing the call bell is excessive and in one case my drink never arrived. 5) Unlike other airlines, they don’t give you a “menu” to chose from for the inflight meal. Instead they just come around asking “Chicken, Lamb or vegetarian”, and lack any real understanding of what’s actually in the food. 6) When you order a drink, they open the can pour some into a cup but don’t give you the remainder in the can. 7) The inflight wifi is expensive. 19.95 USD for 180mb puts them at one of the most expensive. Overall, I would have expected a bit more from an airline such as Etihad."

I was bit speechless though i really wanted to reply to her but it would have been rude. Second thing I did not like about flight was foir serving. In our over 7 hour flight, we were just served breakfast in the morning just 2 hours before landing. Its not healthy to keep customers hungry what if the customer is diabetic. Airline need to understand that up in the sky we are dependent on them for our basic needs and it should be respected."

Miinukset: "This time The experience was super horrible! Took almost 1hr 30 mins to get boarding pass. I had 2 suit case one was 24.5 kg and other one was 25 kg, they wanted me to pay $132 for each bag or take out stuff to make it 23kg. Never met someone that horrible who doesn’t want to let it go. I requested the wheelchair and they dont wana give it to me, I had no choice but to call their supervisor and eventually got wheelchair only from jfk to abu dhabi. Worse experience."

I had to agree but I had not a credit card so they refused to take cash. Spend very frustrating two hours trying to convince the rude employee to put me on the flight... Do not use that airport or that company."
Plussat: "My flight from hyd to auh was delayed and because if that missed connecting flight from auh to LAX. I am now rerouted auh to JFK to LAX. Right now I am in JFK and ny connecting. Flight is delayed by 1 hr 30 mins."

Why must you pay $600 for missing a flight you ALREADY PAID for. I loved my first experience with Etihad but second time was not as pleasant."

Plussat: "Stunning level of service. It feels like what U.S. Airlines were like when you traveled in the 1950's-60's. They pamper you and really seem to care about your flight experience. Food was excellent. I will try my best to only fly this airline from now on for overseas flights."
Miinukset: "Not much to say about what I didn't like. My only negative experience was waiting almost an hour for baggage upon return in Toronto. I almost missed my shuttle back to home . Entire luggage experience was very disorganized and pathetic, I blame that on AerLingus, which is owned by Etihad."

Miinukset: "We missed the flight to porto alegre because we went to bali and the flight from asia air delayed 8am. We tried to change the flight in every way, but we could not. We had to buy a new ticket for another company. We are sad and disappointed"
Plussat: "The airline was amazing, food was on time and good. I'll be honest and say this was one of the better airlines I have flown."

Miinukset: "Severely banged piece of large luggage to the point the handle doesn't even close. Noisy children, and such a filled flight that staff was having a hard time attending to needs of all passengers. Food areas were smelly as were toilets towards end of flight."
Miinukset: "The seat did not reclined. My wife was pregnant 6 months with twins and needed to recline the seat. I think I would reconsider booking with Etihad in the future."

Miinukset: "The dimensional requirement of carry-on luggage came as a surprise at the last moment. The luggage I could carry on any other flight was not allowed in the Chicago check-in."
Plussat: "Hindu veg meal- Instead of giving routine food for lunch/dinner they can change menu for lunch/dinner.otherwise it's ok"
Plussat: "Flight attendants were very good."
Miinukset: "Toilets were not working and toilet water over flowed and entered into the cabin - a dubious first!!! Check-in crew at Abu Dhabi was horrible. Add more Telugu movies for flights to Hyderabad."
Miinukset: "Entertainment system kept kicking out of every movie or show every six minutes. It was really frustrating. A flight attendant did try to fix it, but it did not work. I had the exact same meal on the previous flight."

Miinukset: "Like I said better staff communication in regards to my special situation/need. Also I was surprised I had to pay for the water I had on the flight as the attendant who offered it didn’t mention it was for purchase when they asked me if I wanted bottled water."

Miinukset: "We were stuck on the plane for two hours because of engine issues, and there is no air in coach in their planes. It was 90 degrees in there! For two hours! The other classes had air and we had none, it was a health violation for sure."

Miinukset: "Long lines to board. Take a bus from the terminal to the plane. Walk up a lot of stairs to get on the plane. No free bottled water or soft drinks. Ten minutes before landing they gave me tap water."

Miinukset: "They were late, once we were ready to board the plane it has been changed to another gate due to Brittish delay, so we had to do nother security review. We faced a bad attitude in the countter that was very dissapointing."
Plussat: "One of the staff members at the gate was very courteous and kind when we were late to the counter."
Miinukset: "At the check-in counter, there were two lines. One that showed Madrid and one for last minute flights. It appeared to be the same line where others were waiting for flights that left at the same time. We were standing in line for 25 minutes for check in before being told it was the wrong line. There was a charge even beverages, which was unexpected."
Plussat: "All of the flight attendants were extremely sweet!"

Miinukset: "The initial line for check in was ridiculous. Not manned for quite some time, then kept changing line classifications. May have been related to how Spain ran the airport, but very puzzling"
Plussat: "Did not watch entertainment. Tried to nap."
Miinukset: "Blankets felt very worn and crusty."
Plussat: "Efficient boarding and friendly crew members."
Miinukset: "I booked via Lastminute.com and I was unable to check in online due to a system error. I called BA who said this is a fairly common issue with booking with some travel providers for BA flights. As a result I was only able to check in at the airport (which was 19 hours after I planned to check in online) and hence got a mediocre seat. This issue should be resolved, especially between such an established airline and such an established travel website. The entertainment is poor. The music available only caters for certain tastes (either it is ultra modern or classical) and the selection is markedly inferior to that of other airlines. The film selection is very limited."
Miinukset: "Rude flight crew!"
Plussat: "We liked that our Renfe train from downtown Madrid took us straight to Terminal 4, same as British Airways. Service counter personnel were helpful and suggested checking in our carryon luggage for no charge. Plane was on time and comfortable for the trip to London."
Plussat: "Not much - the entertainment choices were good and the flight was safe and smooth. Plus my bag turned up from Helsinki, Heathrow, Singapore, sydney"
Miinukset: "The biz class seats on BA are just horrible. The biz class service - BA aren’t even trying to match other airlines. A stingy snenities kit and a blanket doesn’t come close to qantas or emerites. The food is an embarrassment - microwave dinners over heated is a a generous description. Crew do as little as possible (they don’t want to be they’ve either)"
Miinukset: "I paid money when I requested seat assignment online. I’m not sure what I paid for as our seats were standard."
Plussat: "Arrived alive"
Miinukset: "Indifferent inflight service is probably a compliment. The worst insult was to the 120 passengers whose flight to Heathrow was cancelled. They waited hours for the flight to Gatwick. On arrival BA announced that the buses that were promised by ground staff in Venice had not been arranged because BA didn't have the resources at hand. Useless as usual!"
Plussat: "Staff (cabin crew Tony, in particular). Hand luggage allowance. Finally, food and water on a BA flight (unlike connecting EDI to LHR flight)."
Miinukset: "Method of boarding, with a mass of economy passengers boarding st once at the end. I NEVER get my preferred seat (= window), and object to being charged extra to select a seat (unlike other airlines I use more frequently nowadays). Crowded economy section, with little legroom, passengers squashing bags at feet, etc."
Plussat: "flight on time"
Miinukset: "hard to check in to BA in Helsinki. signage could be better as this was a code share."
Plussat: "The flight was nice and smooth and I felt very safe the whole time. Sitting that close to strangers for 6 hours is simply annoying and uncomfortable. One would not stop talking to me even though I had ear plugs in and my eyes closed(it was an overnight flight), and the other took up a lot of space. I guess that's not the airlines fault but it would be nice if international flights were more spacious without costing a small fortune."
Miinukset: "The woman who worked the British Airways desk in Helsinki and checked our bags is not suited for a customer service position. The screens on the British Airways long haul planes are tiny and difficult to operate. A 2,5 h flight where you can't even get water complimentary is appalling. Honestly all of your competitors offer a snack and beverages complimentary even if the flight is only 45 min. The boarding for London to Dallas flight was very confusing and could have been made easier with grouping the boarding instead of tons of people piling up to rush in at once."
Plussat: "The crew was great and boarding was efficient."
Miinukset: "No wifi on board. What plane in this day and age isn't equipped with wifi? Especially on a 9 hour flight! Food was terrible."
Plussat: "Good food, good service, everything on time."
Miinukset: "Seats were way too uncomfortable for a trans atlantic flight. Our seats from atl to lhr were much better The crew didn't hand us customs forms in the back of the plane"

Plussat: "The entertainment selection and the friendly crew."
Miinukset: "The seats on the first flight were incredibly uncomfortable. There was no leg room, the aisles were incredibly narrow, and the seats were so close together that my neighbor and I bumped arms throughout the flight, and neither of us are large people. That was our first flight on BA and unfortunately it will probably be our last."
Plussat: "The speed of bouncing back from the computer system mishap"
Miinukset: "The lack of food. Little service on board. Nothing free. Check in process was chaos and people were rude."
Plussat: "I had no trouble keeping myself entertained on the 10-hour flight from London to California. There were tons of movies to choose from, and that's not even counting all the television shows that were available. It's good that there are so many options b/c there is no wifi available for purchase."
Miinukset: "Not really related to the flight itself, but this was my first time flying British Airways, and they have a policy where you can't pick your seat until 24-hour in advance unless you pay an extra fee to choose early. I thought this was similar to Southwest's early bird check-in where no one really opts to pay for such a feature, but apparently with British Airways, everyone pays to pick a seat early. I checked in to my flight literally one minute after the site opened up and there were only middle seats left. So, if you've never flown BA before and you have a long flight, you might want to pay the extra fee to choose your seat early."
Plussat: "The breakfast served in the route Abuja to Heathrow was very hot and tasty. The hostesses were great. Good service overall"
Plussat: "Usual efficient BA. Understated customer care"
Miinukset: "Flight was delayed. BA has started charging for sandwiches in economy. Have they decided to join the ranks of Ryan air and EasyJet? What next - Charging for food and drinks in economy on long haul and become like American, United and Delta? Where is the brand defferentiator? Someone in BA needs to understand that BA is perceived as a premium brand. Don't devalue it"
